WWE Superstars (Live from Kingsport Civic Auditorium (TN), 1,000 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Ayako Hamada versus Kharma

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Kharma defeated Ayako Hamada in 17:46 by pinfall with a Flying Splash. Kharma seemed off her game tonight in this Divas match that went the distance with the Diva from the Orient Ayako Hamada clearly having the superior physical conditioning to her much larger opponent. However, despite seeming off her game and Ayako Hamada dominating for large portions of the match, Kharma was still able to pick up the all-important victory here.

Match Rating: E+

Pre-Show: Xavier Woods and Richie Steamboat versus Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Jordan & Dillinger defeated Woods & Steamboat in 17:44 when Tye Dillinger defeated Richie Steamboat by submission with a Sharpshooter. Unfortunately this match was too long given who was involved as despite Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger having competed in several matches on Friday Night SmackDown as well as picking up victories on WWE Superstars the team have yet to really connect with the WWE Universe. Nevertheless, Jordan and Dillinger were able to get the win here.

Match Rating: E

Pre-Show: Tajiri versus Braun Stowman

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Braun Stowman defeated Tajiri in 18:10 by pinfall with a Powerslam. Finlay accompanied Braun Stowman to ringside for this match and offered vocal support throughout which may have been what led to Stowman getting the win here.

Match Rating: F+

Brodus Clay and Alex Riley versus Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Amore & Cassady defeated Brodus & Riley in 7:07 when Colin Cassady defeated Alex Riley by pinfall with a Spinebuster. The new look WWE Superstars commentary team of Josh Mathews, Joey Styles and John Bradshaw Layfield note that this is the second week in a row in which the team of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady have defeated Brodus Clay and Alex Riley on WWE Superstars.

Following a commercial break WWE Superstars airs the RAW Rebound which recaps events from this past week’s edition of Monday Night RAW. The show kicked off with the advocate for the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, making his way to the ring. Heyman received a tirade of boos and jeers from the WWE Universe in attendance as he took a microphone from the ringside area and noted that last week on RAW his “Beast” Brock Lesnar won a Triple Threat match to once again become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Heyman noted that Lesnar will now go on to defend the title in the main event of Wrestlemania against the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match Dolph Ziggler. Heyman noted that Ziggler seemed arrogant this past week on SmackDown and that although he was successful in SmackDown’s main event against Rey Mysterio, the caliber of athletes Ziggler has been given as opponents recently by the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle pales in comparison to Brock Lesnar. Heyman then said that Brock Lesnar had been put in RAW’s non-title main event by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero, in a match against a former foe of his in John Cena. Heyman then introduced his client and Brock Lesnar then made his way to the ring. Once in the ring Brock Lesnar told Heyman that their time together was over, and that Lesnar had chosen somebody else to lead him into the future, somebody that has actually been in the ring and has guided Lesnar behind the scenes since he first stepped into the WWE over twelve years ago. Billy Gunn then joined Lesnar in the ring and shook hands with Brock as Heyman looked heart-broken. Later on in the evening we saw John Cena backstage with Kevin Nash who said that he attacked the Rock last month because he’s fed up of the Rock coming back and being adored. Nash also told Cena that a win in the main event could put him in line for a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after Wrestlemania. Also on RAW Chris Jericho defeated a returning Adrian Neville.

Rating: B-

Kelly Kelly versus Rain

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Rain defeated Kelly Kelly in 6:01 by pinfall with a Ribcracker. The commentary team note that we learnt this past week on Monday Night RAW that Rain’s buddy Audrey Marie will once again challenge Nikki Bella for the Divas title at Wrestlemania.

Match Rating: E+

Further highlights are shown from the past week’s Monday Night RAW including Sheamus beating both William Regal and Alexander Rusev in a Triple Threat match to retain his United States Championship with Michael Hayes once again in Rusev’s corner. Later on in the evening Rusev and Hayes confronted Sheamus backstage and Hayes said that Rusev would not stop coming after the US title.

Rating: D+

Final highlights are shown from this past week’s Monday Night RAW including Seth Rollins in the office of the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero demanding a match with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania and Brock Lesnar beating John Cena in RAW’s non-title main event.

Rating: C-

Highlights are shown from last week’s Friday Night SmackDown with Wade Barrett beating Ryback to retain the Intercontinental title and Dolph Ziggler beating Rey Mysterio in the main event. A tweet is then shown from the SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle announcing that tomorrow night’s show will see Ziggler take on Stardust in the main event as well as Barrett putting the Intercontinental title on the line against Rey Mysterio.

Rating: C+

Big Show versus David Otunga

In a bout that had solid in-ring action and average heat, Big Show defeated David Otunga in 13:25 by pinfall with a Choke Slam. The commentary team note that Big Show much be desperate to work his way onto the Wrestlemania card.

Match Rating: C-

Post-Show: Johnny Gargano versus Troy McClain

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Johnny Gargano defeated Troy McClain in 13:24 by pinfall with a Hurts Donut. Unfortunately this match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved. The commentary team remained at ringside to watch this one.

Match Rating: E

Post-Show: Tyson Kidd versus Solomon Crowe

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Tyson Kidd defeated Solomon Crowe in 12:48 by submission with a Canadian Maple Leaf. The commentary team also stayed to watch this match.

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:

Stardust versus 2014 Royal Rumble Match winner Dolph Ziggler

The main event of tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown was announced earlier this week via a tweet sent out from the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle and will see the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match Dolph Ziggler in action as he will take on Stardust. By virtue of winning the Royal Rumble, Dolph Ziggler will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania in just a few weeks. This past week on Monday Night RAW Brock Lesnar shocked the WWE Universe when he ended his alignment with his long-time advocate Paul Heyman and announced that his mentor seeing him into Wrestlemania and beyond will be Billy Gunn. Brock Lesnar would also defeat John Cena in RAW’s non-title main event set up by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. Dolph Ziggler will be looking to pick up another all-important victory tonight heading into Wrestlemania. Ziggler’s opponent, Stardust, now competes with his face painted and has been acting like a Staff Member during his recent matches, at times leaving the ring to tidy the ring apron.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett © versus Rey Mysterio

Also tonight on Friday Night SmackDown Wade Barrett will put his WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line against Rey Mysterio in another match announced earlier in the week by the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle. It was two weeks ago on SmackDown that Barrett began his fifth reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion after defeating both Dolph Ziggler and Ryback in a Triple Threat match.

Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions The Uso’s versus Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

At Wrestlemania in just a few weeks Jimmy and Jey Uso will put their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line against the team of Jack Swagger and Tensai but before then Jimmy and Jey must take on the team of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady in non-title action. This past week on Monday Night RAW Swagger and Tensai picked up a win over Kane and Dean Ambrose and tonight Jimmy and Jey will look to do the same against a team that were victorious last night on WWE Superstars.

Mark Henry versus Camacho

Mark Henry has seemed to be very sexually motivated in recent weeks on Friday Night SmackDown, asking out Divas on dates left, right and centre. Tonight Henry will have to focus on in-ring competition as he takes on Camacho.

R-Truth versus Epico

R-Truth has seen somewhat of a career resurgence in recent weeks and if he keeps picking up wins could well find himself competing at Wrestlemania. Tonight on Friday Night SmackDown R-Truth will take on Epico.

Natalya versus Paige

Finally, Divas action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown will see two former WWE Divas Champions face off against one another as Natalya will take on Paige. At Wrestlemania Audrey Marie will challenge Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship, as announced this past week on Monday Night RAW.

Quick Picks:

Stardust versus 2014 Royal Rumble Match winner Dolph Ziggler

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett © versus Rey Mysterio

Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions The Uso’s versus Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

Mark Henry versus Camacho

R-Truth versus Epico

Natalya versus Paige

WWE Friday Night SmackDown! (Live from Anchorage Football Stadium (AK), 4,500 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Christina Von Eerie versus Aksana

In an absolutely wretched bout that was devoid of action or heat, Aksana defeated Christina Von Eerie in 17:32 by pinfall with a Billion Dollar Kick. A pretty rowdy crowd were all over the case of Aksana during this match. It would appear that the WWE Universe still have no interest in seeing Aksana compete in the ring despite Aksana having been around the WWE for several years now and having made many recent appearances on Friday Night SmackDown. Nevertheless, Aksana is still able to pick up the all-important victory here.

Match Rating: E-

Pre-Show: Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu versus The Miz and Damien Sandow

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, MizDow defeated Trent & Yoshi in 17:55 when The Miz defeated Trent Barreta by pinfall with a Skull Crushing Finale. The Friday Night SmackDown commentary team of Josh Mathews, Joey Styles and Matt Striker took up their positions at ringside prior to this tag team match taking place that saw the former WWE Tag Team Champions the Miz and Damien Sandow get the win.

Match Rating: C-

Pre-Show: Big Show versus Jimmy Jacobs

Match Rating: C

Friday Night SmackDown kicks off with the 2014 Royal Rumble match winner Dolph Ziggler making his way to the ring to a chorus of jeers from the WWE Universe in attendance. Once in the ring Ziggler says that this past week on Monday Night RAW Paul Heyman criticized Dolph Ziggler, as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle. Ziggler notes how Heyman started the night with so much to say and so little worries only for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar to come to the ring and end his association with Paul Heyman and announce Billy Gunn as his new mentor going into the future. Ziggler says that whether Paul Heyman, Billy Gunn or Mr. McMahon himself is at Brock Lesnar’s side, it will make no difference as Ziggler will defeat Brock Lesnar in the main event of Wrestlemania to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Ziggler then notes that this past week on RAW Brock Lesnar was put in RAW’s non-title main event against John Cena, a match set up earlier in the day by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and a match that Lesnar won. Ziggler says that tonight he will also be victorious in tonight’s main event against Stardust. The perhaps deranged Stardust then comes to the entrance-way with a microphone of his own and says that tonight Ziggler will be seeing stars.

Rating: C-

Natalya versus Paige

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Paige defeated Natalya in 5:38 by pinfall with a RamPaige. The commentary team note that we learnt this past week on Monday Night RAW that Audrey Marie will challenge Nikki Bella for the Divas title at Wrestlemania.

Match Rating: D

After the match Paige looks as though she is going to attack Natalya until Hailey Hatred and Alexa Bliss come out to make the save. Paige then flees the ring and heads to the back before Nicole Matthews comes to the entrance-way and says that she is better than all of the Divas in the ring.

Rating: F

Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions The Uso’s versus Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, The Uso's defeated Amore & Cassady in 6:31 when Jey Uso defeated Enzo Amore by pinfall with an Alley-Us. The Friday Night SmackDown commentary team note that Jimmy and Jey will once again put their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line against the team of Jack Swagger and Tensai at Wrestlemania, and that Swagger and Tensai were victorious again this past week on Monday Night RAW.

Match Rating: D+

We cut backstage to find Goldust wishing his brother Stardust luck before tonight’s main event with Goldust promising Stardust that it won’t be long until they are the WWE Tag Team Champions again. Rating: C-

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett © versus Rey Mysterio

We cut to another backstage area to find the WWE Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jey Uso discussing their title defence at Wrestlemania. Jey says that they beat Amore and Cassady tonight, have beaten Percy Watson and Byron Saxton in the past and will beat Swagger and Tensai again at Wrestlemania.

Rating: E+

The following contests are confirmed to take place at tonight’s NXT 100,000 Years:

NXT Championship: Justin Gabriel © versus Colt Cabana

The main event of tonight special NXT 100,000 Years event will see Justin Gabriel put his NXT Championship on the line as he will take on the challenge of Colt Cabana. The “Thrill Seeker” Justin Gabriel has held the NXT Championship since May of last year when he defeated the first ever NXT Champion Seth Rollins to win the title. Since then Gabriel has gone on to make six successful title defences thus far, the most recent of which coming last month at NXT Day of the Underdog with a win over Sami Zayn. Colt Cabana has had the support of the NXT Universe inside the NXT Arena since he first came to NXT and has won over all of the fans with his “Fun Babyface” act. The NXT General Manager Jim Cornette has given Cabana this title match tonight by virtue of Cabana winning a Fatal Four-Way match last month at NXT Day of the Underdog, defeating Mason Ryan, Sin Cara and Adam Pearce. Justin Gabriel and Colt Cabana will be doing all they can to pick up the all-important victory tonight and leave with the NXT Championship, and Gabriel has experience on his side having been a former WWE Tag Team Champion and competed in front of the WWE Universe on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown for many years.

NXT Arena Championship: Ezekiel Jackson © versus Wesley Blake

In the first NXT event of the year, NXT Downward Spiral back in January, Ezekiel Jackson defeated Adam Pearce to become just the second ever NXT Arena Champion. Last month at NXT Day of the Underdog Ezekiel Jackson defeated Braun Stowman to make his first successful title defence and tonight Jackson will put the title on the line again against the debuting Wesley Blake. Being a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Ezekiel Jackson is a Bad Ass and will be the heavy favourite going into tonight’s match with the rookie Wesley Blake.

Curtis Axel versus Drew McIntyre

Back in January following an injury to then WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar that forced Lesnar to vacate the title, a Triple Threat match was held on Friday Night SmackDown to decide a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Curtis Axel won that match to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion only to lose the title to Kane two days later at the Royal Rumble. Tonight at NXT 100,000 Years Axel looks to bounce back as he takes on one third of the three-man band known as 3MB, Drew McIntyre.

Kalisto versus Adam Pearce

The high-flying Luchador Kalisto will be in action tonight at NXT 100,000 Years as he will take on Adam Pearce with both men looking to impress the NXT Universe inside what is sure to be a sold out NXT Arena.

NXT Tag Team Champion Charlotte versus Kaitlyn

Finally, one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions Charlotte will tonight take on Kaitlyn. The other NXT Tag Team Champion, Eve Torres, also the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, will be hoping that her partner can get the victory here over a former WWE Divas Champion in Kaitlyn.

Quick Picks:

NXT Championship: Justin Gabriel © versus Colt Cabana

NXT Arena Championship: Ezekiel Jackson © versus Wesley Blake

Curtis Axel versus Drew McIntyre

Kalisto versus Adam Pearce

WWE 100,000 Years (Live from Gainesville Civic Center (GA) 715 in Attendance)

Kalisto versus Adam Pearce

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Kalisto defeated Adam Pearce in 6:35 by pinfall with a Senton Splash. Tonight’s special NXT 100,000 Years event kicks off with the NXT General Manager Jim Cornette as the sole commentator welcoming the live television audience to the show. Cornette notes that tonight’s main event will see Justin Gabriel put his NXT Championship on the line against Colt Cabana. The high-flying luchador Kalisto then makes his way to the ring to a tremendous reception from the NXT Universe in attendance inside the sold out NXT Arena. Adam Pearce then makes his way to the ring to a more mixed reaction. Kalisto was once again wearing his white hooded mask tonight that makes him look like a member of the KKK, but still had the NXT Universe behind him in this one. Jim Cornette notes on commentary that Kalisto spent six months touring with the main WWE roster last year, and although never competing in a televised match on Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown Kalisto no doubt picked up plenty of experience competing in front of the WWE Universe. That experience may have been the difference maker in tonight’s opening contest as Kalisto picked up the all-important victory after hitting a Senton Splash from the top rope.

Match Rating: E+

NXT Tag Team Champion Charlotte versus Kaitlyn

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Kaitlyn defeated Charlotte in 8:21 by pinfall with a Reverse DDT. Our next contest sees one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, Charlotte, in action. However, Charlotte comes to the ring on her own and is not accompanied by the other half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, the NXT Women’s Champion Eve Torres. The former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn then comes to the ring to a decent ovation from the NXT Universe in attendance inside the sold out NXT Arena. The NXT General Manager Jim Cornette notes on commentary that Charlotte, although seeing on the exterior like the Girl-Next-Door, is not only one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions but is also the daughter of the two-time WWE Hall of Famer, the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Jim Cornette notes that the first ever NXT Tag Team Champions were decided back at NXT Instant Classic last September when Charlotte and Eve Torres beat Hailey Hatred and Christina Von Eerie to win the titles. Since then Eve Torres and Charlotte have been calling themselves “Team Brilliance” and have made two successful title defences, most recently beating Evie and Summer Rae last month at NXT Day of the Underdog. Although Charlotte is perhaps destined for great things given her lineage, it was Kaitlyn that got the win here.

Match Rating: D-

NXT Arena Championship: Ezekiel Jackson © versus Wesley Blake

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Ezekiel Jackson defeated Wesley Blake in 13:07 by pinfall with The Book of Ezekiel. Ezekiel Jackson makes defence number two of his NXT Arena Championship. The NXT General Manager Jim Cornette notes that the next match will see Ezekiel Jackson put the NXT Arena Championship on the line. Jackson then makes his way to the ring to a great reception from the NXT Universe inside the sold out NXT Arena, followed by his challenger Wesley Blake. Cornette notes on commentary that Ezekiel Jackson beat Adam Pearce back in January at NXT Downward Spiral to become only the second ever NXT Arena Champion and last month at NXT Day of the Underdog defeated Braun Stowman to make his first title defence. Ezekiel Jackson acted like a Bad Ass throughout this match, dominating for large periods of the match and clearly having the experience advantage being a former WWE Intercontinental Champion and having competed in many matches in front of the WWE Universe on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown. Cornette notes that Ezekiel Jackson is here in NXT to try to regain the attentions of both the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle. Ezekiel Jackson never looked like losing tonight’s match against the debuting Wesley Blake who only had spurts of offence and eventually Ezekiel pinned Wesley Blake for the win and another successful title defence.

Match Rating: D-

Curtis Axel versus Drew McIntyre

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Curtis Axel defeated Drew McIntyre in 7:51 by pinfall with a Perfect Plex. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Curtis Axel received a good reaction from the NXT Universe inside the sold out NXT Arena as he made his way to the ring. Axel was by himself tonight and no longer accompanied by Paul Heyman. Drew McIntyre then made his way to the ring, also alone and without the other 3MB members Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. The NXT General Manager Jim Cornette notes on commentary that both of these Superstars have years of experience competing in front of the WWE Universe on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown, and both put on a good effort tonight with points clearly to prove to both the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle. Ultimately it was Axel that got the win after hitting McIntyre with the Perfect Plex.

Match Rating: C

NXT Championship: Justin Gabriel © versus Colt Cabana

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Justin Gabriel defeated Colt Cabana in 12:53 by pinfall with a 450 Splash. Justin Gabriel makes defence number seven of his NXT Championship. The NXT General Manager Jim Cornette left his position at the commentary table briefly to make introductions for tonight’s NXT Championship main event match. Both Justin Gabriel and Colt Cabana received tremendous ovations from the NXT Universe in attendance inside the sold out NXT Arena and put on a great match that ended with Justin Gabriel hitting the 450 Splash to retain his title once again.

Monday, Week 3, March, 2014

http://www.targetcenter.com/assets/img/WWE_RAW_LIVE_DEC_2014_SPOTLIGHT-NEW.jpg

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW:

Non-Title: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar versus William Regal

The main event of tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW will see the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar in action as he will take on William Regal in a non-title match. Last week’s Monday Night RAW began with Paul Heyman, the long-time advocate for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the “Beast” Brock Lesnar, making his way to the ring. Heyman addressed the WWE Universe, claiming that his client Brock Lesnar will defeat the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match Dolph Ziggler in the main event of Wrestlemania, before introducing Lesnar to the ring. Brock Lesnar would then come to the ring only to shock everyone by announcing that Billy Gunn will be his mentor going forward. Tonight Lesnar faces William Regal with Lesnar looking to pick up another all-important victory just weeks before Wrestlemania.

WWE United States Championship: Sheamus © versus Alexander Rusev versus Bray Wyatt

Last July on an episode of Monday Night RAW Sheamus defeated the former WWE United States Champion Dean Ambrose as well as Rob Van Dam in a Triple Threat match to become the new WWE United States Champion for the second time in his career. Since then Sheamus has gone on to make an extraordinary fifteen successful title defences during his eight-month long title reign. In fact, since early January the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero has forced Sheamus to put the title on the line every week on Monday Night RAW in between successful title defences on Pay-Per-View. Tonight Sheamus will put the title on the line in another Triple Threat match against both Alexander Rusev and Bray Wyatt.

Kane and Dean Ambrose versus Jack Swagger and Tensai

At Wrestlemania in just a few weeks Jack Swagger and Tensai will challenge Jimmy and Jey Uso for the WWE Tag Team Championships. Before then, however, Swagger and Tensai must team up to take on the team of Kane and Dean Ambrose tonight on Monday Night RAW. Two weeks ago on RAW during a victory over the team of Xavier Woods and Richie Steamboat Swagger seemed to be acting jealous of Tensai but last week on RAW the pair looked on the same page as they defeated Kane and Ambrose. Kane will have to focus on tonight’s match after being attacked backstage by Roman Reigns for the past two weeks.

CM Punk versus Leo Kruger

At last month’s Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View CM Punk won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the Elimination Chamber match main event only to then lose the title twenty-four hours later on Monday Night RAW to Brock Lesnar in a Triple Threat match also involving Kane, with Kane being the Superstar pinned by Lesnar. Despite losing his title without being beaten for it, it would appear that the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero will not be giving Punk a rematch as Lesnar now looks towards his opponent at Wrestlemania, the winner of the Royal Rumble match Dolph Ziggler. CM Punk faces Leo Kruger tonight on Monday Night RAW.

Chris Jericho versus Derrick Bateman

With just a few weeks to go until Wrestlemania it would appear that Chris Jericho does not yet have a match at the big event, just a year after competing in a marquee match against Brock Lesnar. Jericho lost that match and this year Brock Lesnar is heading into Wrestlemania as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion whereas Jericho is, in truth, struggling to remain relevant. Jericho picked up a win over Alberto Del Rio in the pre-show to the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View last month; shown live on WWE.com and last week on RAW Jericho was victorious over Adrian Neville. Tonight on Monday Night RAW Jericho faces another young gun in Derrick Bateman looking to prove that he still has what it takes to compete at the top level.

WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Emma vs. Audrey Marie, Beth Phoenix and Kharma

Finally, Divas action tonight on Monday Night RAW will see the WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella team up with her twin sister Brie Bella as well as the Australian Diva who loves to dance, Emma. The Bella Twins and Emma’s opponents tonight will be the trio of Audrey Marie, Beth Phoenix and Kharma. At Wrestlemania in just a few weeks Audrey Marie will challenge Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship once again after Audrey failed to win the title from Nikki at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View last month after Brie Bella switched places with her sister Nikki behind the referee’s back to pick up the win and retain the title on her sister’s behalf.

Quick Picks:

Non-Title: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar versus William Regal

WWE United States Championship: Sheamus © versus Alexander Rusev versus Bray Wyatt

Kane and Dean Ambrose versus Jack Swagger and Tensai

CM Punk versus Leo Kruger

Chris Jericho versus Derrick Bateman

WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Emma vs. Audrey Marie, Beth Phoenix and Kharma

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Ayako Hamada defeated Sexy Star in 18:04 by pinfall with an AP Cross. Ayako Hamada and Sexy Star have pretty good chemistry as opponents, and it lifted the match. The chemistry between these two Divas was evident in this match that went the distance and eventually ended with the Diva from the Orient, Ayako Hamada, picking up the all-important victory after pinning Sexy Star with her AP Cross finishing maneuver.

Pre-Show: Batista and Evan Bourne versus Kings of Wrestling

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Kings of Wrestling defeated Batista & Bourne in 18:10 when Antonio Cesaro defeated Evan Bourne by pinfall with a K.R.S.O.N.E. Evan Bourne has a dreadfully stale character and a change is really needed. The WWE Universe seem to be particularly uninterested with Bourne following his return following a long-term injury and his on-again and then off-again tag team with the semi-active Batista. The Kings of Wrestling duo of Antonio Cesaro and Kassius Ohno got the win here.

Monday Night RAW kicks off with Paul Heyman making his way to the ring. The WWE Universe in attendance shower Heyman with boos and jeers as he retrieves a microphone from the ringside area. Heyman says that in just a few weeks at Wrestlemania the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will defend his title in the main event against the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match, Dolph Ziggler. Heyman continues by saying that despite it being Paul Heyman that has led Brock Lesnar to becoming a two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, last week on RAW Brock Lesnar found it fit to announce to the world on live television that he no longer wanted the services of Paul Heyman and that Billy Gunn would take him forward into the future as a mentor. Heyman says that he does not want any trouble; he is a Pacifist and is happy to have Billy Gunn join their circle as an in-ring trainer for Brock, but that Paul Heyman is still needed to guide the “Beast” Brock Lesnar in business. Heyman notes how Dolph Ziggler said this past week on Friday Night SmackDown that he doesn’t care who is in Lesnar’s corner at Wrestlemania, but that everybody with half a brain knows that Heyman is needed to unleash Lesnar at Wrestlemania at his full potential. Brock Lesnar then joins Heyman in the ring and says that he has not brought Billy Gunn out with him as a sign of respect to Paul Heyman for their relationship in the past, but he tells Heyman to accept it’s over and stop embarrassing himself or actions will be taken.

This allowed Swagger and Tensai to single out Kane for the majority of the match until Kane was finally able to tag in Ambrose only for Ambrose to fall victim to the Swagger Bomb.

Following our first commercial break of the evening WWE Superstars airs the RAW Rebound which recaps events from this past week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. The show began with Paul Heyman making his way to the ring to a chorus of jeers from the WWE Universe in attendance and proclaiming that he led the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar to two WWE World Heavyweight Championships and to the main event of Wrestlemania in just a few weeks when the “Beast” Brock Lesnar will put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match Dolph Ziggler. Heyman then noted how last week on RAW Brock Lesnar ended his working relationship with Paul Heyman and introduced his mentor going forward, Billy Gunn. Heyman said that he was a pacifist and had no problems with allowing Billy Gunn to mentor Lesnar in terms of in-ring work, but that Heyman was still needed in the corner of Brock Lesnar conducting his business. Heyman noted how this past week on Friday Night SmackDown Dolph Ziggler said that it didn’t matter who was in Lesnar’s corner at Wrestlemania but that it does, it needs to be Paul Heyman if Lesnar is going to continue to have success. The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:

Goldust versus 2014 Royal Rumble Match winner Dolph Ziggler

The main event of tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown was announced earlier this week via a tweet sent out from the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle and will see the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match Dolph Ziggler in action against Goldust. In just nine days at Wrestlemania, Dolph Ziggler will challenge Brock Lesnar in the main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Before then, however, Ziggler will be looking to pick up the all-important victory over Goldust tonight to build more momentum heading into the biggest match of his career. This past week on Monday Night RAW Paul Heyman began the show by addressing the WWE Universe and claiming that he still needed to be the one at Lesnar’s side at Wrestlemania after Lesnar told Heyman that he wanted Billy Gunn to mentor him going forward. Lesnar then came to the ring and warned Heyman that if he didn’t back off then actions would need to be taken. In RAW’s non-title main event set up by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero, Lesnar beat William Regal.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett © versus R-Truth

The WWE Intercontinental Championship will also be on the line tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as R-Truth will challenge the Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett. Barrett became the new Intercontinental Champion for the fifth time in his career four weeks ago on Friday Night SmackDown after beating the former Champion Dolph Ziggler as well as Ryback in a Triple Threat match.

Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions The Uso’s versus Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

At Wrestlemania in less than two weeks Jimmy and Jey Uso will put their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line against the team of Jack Swagger and Tensai but before then Jimmy and Jey must take on Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady in non-title action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown. Swagger and Tensai were victorious again this past week on Monday Night RAW and Jimmy and Jey will look to follow suit tonight.

Mark Henry versus Byron Saxton

The former World Champion Mark Henry will tonight take on Byron Saxton on Friday Night SmackDown with Mark Henry looking to continue to prove to the WWE Universe that he deserves another shot at the Intercontinental Championship.

Big Show versus Konnor

With just nine days left until Wrestlemania it looks as though Big Show will not be competing on the biggest stage of them all this year but perhaps a win over Konnor tonight on Friday Night SmackDown could earn Big Show a spot on the card.

Christina Von Eerie versus Rain

Finally, Divas action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown will see Christina Von Eerie take on Rain. This past week on Monday Night RAW Rain and her friend Audrey Marie attacked the Bella Twins before attacking Brie Bella whilst she was alone later in the evening.

WWE Monday Night RAW (Live from American Sports Center (CA) 3,500 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Ayako Hamada versus Rosa Mendes

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Rosa Mendes defeated Ayako Hamada in 18:09 by pinfall with a Hell Makeover. Unfortunately this Divas match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved with both Ayako Hamada and Rosa Mendes unable to entertain the WWE Universe for that long without those in attendance being bored. Despite being in the WWE for many years now and competed in many matches on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown Rosa Mendes has yet to interest the WWE Universe. Nevertheless, Rosa was able to pick up the all-important victory here.

Match Rating: E+

Pre-Show: Brodus Clay and Alex Riley versus Roman Reigns and William Regal

Monday Night RAW kicks off with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar making his way to the ring. Lesnar receives a mixed reaction from the WWE Universe in attendance as he retrieves a microphone from the ringside area. Lesnar says that he hasn’t heard from Paul Heyman all week and that he thinks that his former advocate has finally got the message. Lesnar says that he has come out by himself tonight and has not brought his mentor Billy Gunn with him because he wants to publically address the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match, Dolph Ziggler. Lesnar says that he saw Ziggler defeat Goldust in the main event of last week’s Friday Night SmackDown but that the competition being given to Ziggler by the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Hornswoggle pales in comparison to what Ziggler will face this Sunday at Wrestlemania when he challenges the “Beast” Brock Lesnar in the main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Lesnar says that he has been informed by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero that he will face Bray Wyatt in tonight’s non-title main event, and that Lesnar is looking forward to the challenge. The lights then go out in the arena and when they come back on Bray Wyatt is sitting in his rocking chair at the entrance-way with a microphone of his own in hand. Wyatt says that tonight he will kill the “beast”.

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Angel Williams and The Bella Twins defeated Audrey Marie, Beth Phoenix and Kharma in 6:40 when Nikki Bella defeated Beth Phoenix by pinfall with a Twin Magic. Rain accompanied her friend Audrey Marie to ringside for this Six-Divas tag team match which saw Audrey Marie team up with Beth Phoenix and Kharma to take on the WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella, her twin sister Brie Bella and the debuting Angel Williams. Rain distracted the referee several times throughout the match which ended up costing Audrey’s team the win as whilst Rain was with the referee Nikki Bella switched places with her sister Brie to win the match with the referee not knowing it was the fresh Bella making the pin.

Match Rating: D-

Match Rating: B-

We cut backstage to find the United States Champion Sheamus about to leave the arena when he is confronted by Michael Hayes and Alexander Rusev, and Hayes says that Rusev wants one more one on one match with Sheamus for the US title this Sunday at Wrestlemania, and Sheamus accepts.

Rating: D+

Rob Van Dam versus Randy Orton

In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Randy Orton defeated Rob Van Dam in 8:24 by pinfall with an RKO. RVD and Orton have great chemistry as opponents and it showed in their performances tonight.

Match Rating: B

The WWE Universe come to their feet as the Rock makes his way to the ring. The Rock says that he is excited for Wrestlemania this year and is most looking forward to seeing if Seth Rollins can beat the Undertaker.

Rating: B-

Non-Title: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar versus Bray Wyatt

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Brock Lesnar defeated Bray Wyatt in 13:05 by pinfall with an F-5. This match suffered from a lack of psychology and could have really used someone with the knowledge of how to construct a proper flow.

Match Rating: B-
