UFC 1993 - The League

It's the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but not how you remember it!

 

In 1993, the UFC was founded by Art Davie, and BJJ practicioner Rorion Gracie, to showcase the different kinds of martial arts, and to establish, which one was the superior.

 

Of course this tournament ended up with 170lbs underdog Royce Gracie, using his jiu jitsu skills to tap out 3 strikers, much bigger than him.. but in this reality..

 

The same 8 fighters are signed to the UFC, but instead of competing in a single night tournament, they will compete in a series of matches, round robin style, to determine the superior martial art.

 

The fighters will compete in 2 groups, and the top 2 of each group will go on to the semi finals, with the winners of course advancing to the final to crown the first UFC champion.

• Patrick Smith; a Tae Kwon Do practicioner.
  
• Ken Shamrock; a shoot fighter.
  
• Gerard Gordeau; a savate karate fighter.

 

Group B

• Royce Gracie.
  
• Zane Frasier; a Karate fighter.
  
• Teila Tuli; a Sumo wrestler.
  
• Kevin Rosier; a kickboxer.

 

There's also some alternate fighters contracted in case of injuries, and to provide non-competition fights.
