Question on using moves as reversals

Recommended Posts

As we have all seen, when wrestler A goes for a move you'll get a list of options with which to try stopping it from happening. Standard choices include block, avoid and so on. Buuuuut some moves allow you to counter with a move of your own. Such as a clothesline or firemans carry.

There are also some abilities available for purchase ( each up to level 3 ) which grant a percentage boost to your chance of success with your attempted reversal move, depending on whether it's a striking or non striking move.

Wondering how the mechanics work for reversing with a move of your own? Does wrestler A have to fail his attempted move before wrestler B gets to test to see if his move works? Or is there modifying mechanics involved that I havent seen when checking the calculation of that particular round of moves?

Cheers in advance.

<p>It's basically the bottom paragraph. Reversing with a move means the attacker has to miss first before you get a chance to retaliate. The attributes you mention give those counter moves a better chance to hit, but not to disrupt the initial move.</p><p> </p><p>

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.</p>

<p>That sounds right to me. Obviously you still have to roll your own reversal move, which can also fail, which is when you end up with the stalemate popup.</p><p> </p><p>

Generally speaking, move counters are more useful when the opponent is trying to hit his/her bigger moves, as your chance of not being hit by the first move (without the bonuses provided by block etc.) are far greater than if you tried to reverse an Arm Bar, for example. If you absolutely cannot avoid something, then a move counter can be a bit more useful for low level moves as you might as well get some damage in on the off-chance you succeed! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
