APWF:The Ballad of Mad Dog Mortimer…nobody is going to read this so what is the point

Former NYCW wrestler Lee Wright has bought the rights to use the APWF name and title.

We here at TOTALEXTREMEWRESTLING.COM have learned that former NYCW wrestler Lee Wright has bought the rights to use the APWF name and Heavyweight Title from Terry Lambert. Mister Wright plans on reopening the APWF and holding APWF shows in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.).

The original APWF was once the major wresting territory in the United States. The original APWF’s alumni section reads like a who’s who of professional wrestling legends. Former APWF Heavyweight Champions include Micky Starr, Rip Chord, George DeColt, Dan Stone and Crippler Ray Kingman.

However, due to the rise of the SWF and mismanagement by the APWF front office the APWF died a slow and painful death. It eventually closed its doors in 1977.

As of right now there is no word as who will be a part of the new APWF roster. We will have more information in regards to the APWF as the news becomes available to us.

Hi folks this is my ooc area where I talk a little bit about myself and this dairy. You might remember me from my NYCW diary, my RIPW diary, or my SWF diary and some of you might know me from my personal favorite diary The Compound. Well most of you probably do not know me from any of those diaries because they never had a huge following.

This diary will have no back story other than what I just wrote above. Maybe I am the only one, but I hate reading backstory in other people’s diaries and so I will not put it in my own. I will probably have posts where I give out backstage information like any signings or whatnot but for the most part this diary will be nearly kayfabe. Once again I just am not a fan of backstage behind the curtain stuff and so that is why I will not put it in my diary.

Why does this diary have such a strange long name?

Well the name is a joke name. My previous two diaries had the ballad of so and so written in the title. I lifted the name from GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony and I sort of kept that theme ever since. As for the rest of the title, well as stated above none of my diaries have ever had a huge following (Well the SWF and Compound both have/had a decent following but nothing huge.) so that is a joke about my lack of readers.

Are you going to hold a prediction contest for every show this time around?

Why yes I am, even if they are a colossal pain in the ass to keep track of. I will probably not get many people picking in this diary but I will still go through with it.

Out of all the companies you could play as why did you choose to play as the APWF?

Well I really wanted to play as either TCW or USPW but for some reason I just suck when I play as any large company in TEW13. None of the smaller companies stood out as being something I wanted to play as. I have already done an NYCW diary I guess an FCW diary would have been good but I just did not want to do an FCW diary. I have always wanted to do a CZCW diary but I suck at match write-ups so that would never work.

That is why I decided to reopen APWF because, much like my RIPW diary, I could populate my roster with workers that get hardly any love in other diaries on the board. There will be some wrestlers who have been in both my NYCW and RIPW diaries but I hope I can use them slightly differently.

Why are you not using some of the default renders?

I disliked all of those new renders where the characters look nearly exactly alike. Therefore, if I found a better version of the render I replaced it. I know people got mad at me when I said that I did not like these new renders when the game first came out (New Ash Campbell render I am looking at you.), but I will stick with what I said. After all I am a customer and if there is something I do not like about a product, I will say so and to be honest I was a little annoyed by people saying that I cannot complain.

Is your SWF diary still going to be updated?

Yes it will, I actually just finished booking the next show and all I have to do is write it up. This diary might be what I like to call a limited run diary. What I mean by that is, I have four and a half shows written thus far and I plan on finishing one game year in this diary. So at the very least this diary should last twelve shows. After that I will reevaluate my interest in continuing this and go from there.

Did you give your diary a one star again?

Yes I did and I encourage you to do so as well if you see fit. People get so hung up on how low or high their diaries are rated and I find that to be comical. Someone always one stars everything I do on here and that is perfectly fine with me. Therefore, if you think this is one star worthy give it a one star, if you think this is five star worthy well you should probably have your head examined but you know still give me those five stars before you get your head examined…

This is the part where you should name your influences…

I guess I should, but I will not. I say this because besides Oldschool and Marcel Fromage nobody who influenced me to do diaries in the first place has ever paid any attention to any of my diaries. Therefore I am not going to give them any credit because none of them will be reading this in the first place and if they do…well hell they still don’t deserve to be thanked. I should probably thank Jingo for influencing the way I do match write-ups, it seems like nearly every other diary on the board is using his style of match write-ups. The funny thing is he no longer seems to be using his style of match write-ups.

I will thank TakerNGN, Zergon, Jingo, and michgcs for their constant support of my SWF diary. All four are good writers and if you have not had the chance to do so yet you should really check out their diaries.

I would like to thank some of the people who have made the renders and alt renders that I will be using in this dairy. I am not sure exactly which render belongs to which artist. But off the top of my head I know that I am using stuff from IER, aja_nyc (Thank you once again for those awesome Blues Brother alt renders), and Jtlant so I would like to thank them.

Why are you still asking yourself questions?

I am not sure; I guess I shall stop…

One more thing, I hit enter before I could set this first page up the way I wanted it to look. The original name of this diary was supposed to be, APWF: The Ballad of Mad Dog Mortimer…ah what is the point of naming it, nobody is going to read it anyway…, but it was too long. I was trying to change it and hit enter by accident so that is the Genesis of the name of this diary.

<p>I will definitely be reading along with this one as I have all of your others. Also thanks for the complement in your backstory post I really appreciate it now I will have to live up to the hype you just gave me when I finally get around to starting my 4C dynasty. (Which will be shortly after Adam releases the 2014 updated data for TEW 2013 so hopefully soon but that's what I am waiting for)</p><p> </p><p>

Anyways I can't wait to see where you take this as it seems like a very interesting concept.</p>

<p>I think Lug Phelon is an early favorite for my favorite render. It's like he's Sheamus and Rock combined! <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Anyway I'm truly excited for a new batch of C-Verse guys that you're gonna introduce me to. The only guy I recognize from your roster is Bulldozer and that's 'cause I read Mark Cuban Does DaVE, and even there things ended before 'Dozer got a chance to have a real character.</p><p> </p><p>

Let's get this show on the road! </p><p> </p><p>

(PS Add a beard on him and maybe we can start calling him Mad Dog Butcher, or Necro Mortimer? )</p>

<p>Really nice starting roster, Bulldozer is obvious star here but will be interesting to see who else manages to make it on top. There´s quite many guys that I´m don´t know all that well either (Mobstar, Leftie Wilkes, Kip Keenan and Ray Snow amongs others) so will be nice to see how they are doing. </p><p> </p><p>

I might had just missed the info but is APWF 0/0/0/0 promotion or or something else? I take from the roster size that it is local sized promotion.</p><p> </p><p>

Also thanks for the compliment, though personally, I think calling me a good writer is a bit of a stretch, but hey I take it. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

David Poker was in the RIPW dairy. Lee Wright was in my NYCW diary who the fans liked to call AAR Lee.</p><p> </p><p> Finally there is Herb Stately who was in both my RIPW and NYCW diaries. <p><strong>Bulldozer Brandon Smith</strong> vs. Mobstar vs. Curtis Jenkins</p><p> </p><p>

Dozer is the biggest star you got of the lot, but I won't be surprised if Mobstar gets the win here as well. Jenkins isn't a bad talent, but I think he is going to be the fall guy in this case.</p><p> </p><p>

Riley McManus vs. <strong>Lug Phelan</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I am a bit torn on this one. I think Riley can be a good top guy at the start that could get pushed down later on when other names are brought in, but I do like Lug (Dat render is amazing) and I think he can get himself a win...even if he has to cheat a bit.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kip Keenan</strong> vs. Mad Dog Mortimer</p><p> </p><p>

Love Mad Dog, but I don't see him very high on the pecking order. Kip on the other hand has a pretty bright future ahead of him.</p><p> </p><p>

The Blues Boys vs. <strong>Snead & Snow</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I normally would go with the team with a name, but I am a bit fan of Ray Snow and the man that has become Snead.</p>

The more obvious way is to have Bulldozer win since he´s the most over guy by some margin. However as you can see I did go with option two a.k.a Mobstar. Why? Simply because after checking everyone from your roster, Mobstar was the guy on heel side that seemed like the best choice as top heel and with you being high local you have limited time to establish your current top guys before you hit small and could sign more popular guys and because of that, I would go with Mobstar pinning Jenkins here (assuming Bulldozer would be alright on not winning as long as he isn´t pinned) in order to establish himself as top guy as soon as possible.</em></p><p> </p><p> Riley McManus vs. <strong>Lug Phelan</strong></p><p> <em>Not sure about this one as Phelan is the most likely candidate as monster heel type guy but McManus has a good feud option with Jenkins (after all they are experienced tag team so there´s likely some reason why they are on differend sides from the beginning). At the end I go with Phelan assuming that he indeed gets the monster heel spot on your roster and besides, Jenkins could always interfere here if you plan to have a feud between the former tag partners.</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Kip Keenan</strong> vs. Mad Dog Mortimer</p><p> <em>Keenan has strong in every category on his skills (I always have FoW turned on so I don´t see exact stats) and is way younger and already more popular than Mortimer so this looks pretty easy pick. However, Mortimer´s name is on your title plus you did hire Stately as he´s manager (and he isn´t cheap, espesially not for local promotion) so there might be more on here than it looks at the first sign. Still, I´m not going to pick against Keenan on this one.</em></p><p> </p><p> The Blues Boys vs. <strong>Snead & Snow</strong></p><p> <em>I really like Remm.., sorry Snead, but looking at the heel side of your roster, he´s lack of starting popularity and bland look likely sets him as midcard guy at best. Still he and Snow are the better team on this one and I really don´t see Blues Boys being anything else than jobbers.</em></p>

I actually remember that interview you made mention of. If you ever want to look into the whole reasoning/idea behind it Wrestlecrap tries their best to explain it. If anything it is a good chuckle.

Really enjoyed the first show and I am guessing you got a pop over performance style company given some of the ratings. even so that is a pretty good grade to get given most of the talent you have are really low pop behind some of the guys in your main event. Look forward to seeing the next show!

Sucks that I did so badly, but it was a fun show nonetheless. I just can't understand how a team as awesome as the Blues Boys can be jobbers! (...but then again, so is 3MB, so I guess I kinda get it) <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

It's a bit interesting that you didn't introduce a Title on the first show. I only tried playing with a created fed once and right away I booked a tourney for the gold, so I'm going to enjoy seeing what you plan on doing here.</p>

Plus even if they had popularity, it would be hard to push them because B.W. has terrible stamina. Lug, the man who hates everyone that is not Irish, will be picking up more wins down the road. Or at least that is the plan.</p><p> </p><p> As for the title, I did not want to crown a champion right out of the gate. I looked at how ROH did it when they first opened up and I liked the fact that they held off crowing a champion right out of the gate so I went that way.</p><p> </p><p> Some stuff that is probably not important to anyone but me, I have added more to the previous posts such as show histories, so of the music is linked up to Youtube so for those who want to listen to any of the theme songs some of them are up right now, and I have also added to the title history page.</p>
