With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, Okami tries to finish Te Huna off with a rear naked choke. Te Huna doesn't allow the arm to go under his chin. James Te Huna looks like he is completely out of gas. Te Huna struggles against Okami but cannot get himself free from the hooks. We reach the time limit and this fight is over."

Brian Stann: "I have to give that round to Okami, but only a 10-9."

John Sharp: “Are you ready.? Are you ready? Let’s get it on.”

Round 1

Jon Anik: "And here we go! Gomi slips past a left jab and fires back with a crisp left hand punch. Gomi comes in closer, looking to clinch with Sotiropoulos. Gomi ends up grabbing Sotiropoulos in a Muay Thai clinch. Gomi loses the Muay Thai clinch after a knee strike misses and gives Sotiropoulos the opportunity to wrestle free. Gomi looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Sotiropoulos. Gomi cannot get close enough to the elusive Sotiropoulos to grapple. Gomi looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Sotiropoulos. Sotiropoulos finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Using his wrestling skills, Gomi is trying to push Sotiropoulos up against the cage. He does so, and now has Sotiropoulos pinned to the cage. We move into the second half of this round. Sotiropoulos is controlled up against the cage and takes an elbow to the face from the clinch. Sotiropoulos has a large gash above his eye from that strike. Gomi pins Sotiropoulos up against the cage and works him over with small punches to the body for roughly sixty seconds. Sotiropoulos is pressed up against the cage and simply can't break the control that Gomi has over him. This goes on for about thirty seconds. There's under a minute left in this round. With the fight having been stuck against the cage for a lengthy period of time, the referee restarts them back in the center. A nicely executed one-two combination sets up a takedown attempt from Sotiropoulos. Gomi attempts to avoid Sotiropoulos as he shoots in. Sotiropoulos doesn't get the takedown, Gomi avoided it. With Sotiropoulos bleeding, the referee pauses the fight so that the cut can be checked. The doctor checks the cut, but seems happy that it does not present too much of a problem. The fight recommences! Round one is brought to an end as time runs out."

Brian Stann: "That round goes to Gomi, 10-9 on my card."

Round 2

Jon Anik: "There's the bell and round number two begins! Sotiropoulos darts in and out of range quickly, trying to get Gomi to commit to throwing a strike. A jab doesn't find its intended target, allowing Sotiropoulos to fire back with a nice one-two combination. Gomi counters a one-two combination with a clean left. Gomi looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Sotiropoulos seems happy to grapple with Gomi. Sotiropoulos tries to take Gomi down. It looks like Gomi is trying to grab a guillotine. Gomi cannot stop the takedown, and has to pull guard. Sotiropoulos starts trying to work to get past the guard. He finds himself unable to pass guard on this attempt. From his back, Gomi manages to pull Sotiropoulos toward the cage. Sotiropoulos cannot stop Gomi from walking his way up via the cage, but does retain control. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Sotiropoulos looks for a trip takedown. Gomi doesn't fight the takedown, he seems content to pull guard. Sotiropoulos begins trying to pass the guard. Sotiropoulos gets past, but Gomi stops him at half guard. Sotiropoulos attempts to pass half guard and gain a better position. He can't quite manage to get past half guard on this attempt. Gomi tries to sweep Sotiropoulos but doesn't get anywhere. We have one minute of the round remaining. Sotiropoulos attempts to pass half guard and gain a better position. Sotiropoulos almost gets side control, but Gomi was ready and a scramble for position ensues. As the scramble begins, Sotiropoulos sees that Gomi has left a leg in, and quickly tries to seize it. Unable to secure the leg, Sotiropoulos winds up on his back pulling half guard. Time expires and we come to the end of round two."

Brian Stann: "That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Sotiropoulos."

Round 3

Jon Anik: "There's the bell and round number three begins! Sotiropoulos isn't drawn in by Gomi feinting to his left. Gomi throws a barrage of big right hands but Sotiropoulos moves out of range. A feint sets up a right head kick attempt from Gomi, but Sotiropoulos moves out of range at the last moment. Gomi circles around Sotiropoulos. Sotiropoulos presses in closer to attack. George Sotiropoulos looks very tired out there. Takanori Gomi looks very tired out there. Gomi steps back to avoid a flurry of punches. Moving in closer, a tired-looking Gomi apparently wants to strike from the pocket. He gets into range. A left jab misses, giving Gomi the chance to hit back with an enormous right hook, Sotiropoulos is out before he hits the ground! The winner, by Knock Out; Takanori Gomi!"

Brian Stann: "A big knockout to Takanori Gomi!"

Joe Martinez: "The referee John Sharp stopped the contest in 2:28 of Round 3. Declare the winner by Knockout, 'The Fireball Kid' Takanori Gomi!"

Alvarez throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Bocek attempts to avoid Alvarez as he shoots in. Alvarez can't get the takedown, Bocek was too quick to back away. From the looks of things, I don't think Mark Bocek has much energy left. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Bocek throws a looping punch, but Alvarez avoids it. Not letting up, Alvarez quickly steps in closer to attack Bocek. Alvarez, who is visibly tired, looks like he might want to get in close and wrestle with Bocek. Bocek is pulled into a grapple. Alvarez is trying to muscle Bocek up against the cage. Alvarez manages it, and controls Bocek up against the cage. Eddie Alvarez seems to be fighting against exhaustion. Bocek winds up seated, his back to the cage, with Alvarez pressing onto him. There's under a minute left in this round. Alvarez tries to put Bocek into a guillotine choke. A guillotine choke is applied; Bocek isn't tapping out though! It looks like Bocek must have been able to stop the choke from being fully sunk in. Alvarez eventually lets go, but may have gassed his arms by trying to squeeze out the submission. Alvarez throws a few weak-looking punches as he decides on his next move. Alvarez fires off a few punches, but they aren't thrown with any great force. The time expires on round three, and that is the end of the fight."

Joe Rogan:"That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Alvarez."

Bruce Buffer:"After three round the judges score cards for decision. The judges scores the contest 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28. For the winner by Unanimous Decision, Eddie Alvarez!"

Torres looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Jabouin is pulled into a Muay Thai clinch. Using the clinch, Torres blasts Jabouin with a powerful knee to the cheek! We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. A jab misses, allowing Jabouin to counter-strike with a right kick to the thigh. Strikes to the leg like that will take their toll. With Jabouin bleeding, the referee pauses the fight so that the cut can be checked. The doctor seems happy that the cut isn't going to be an issue. The fight will be restarted in the center! Torres shoots in for a takedown. Torres can't complete the takedown, and has to settle for pushing Jabouin up against the cage. They start grappling, Dantas looks happy to engage Beal at close quarters. Beal tries to wrestle Dantas backward and up against the cage. Beal achieves it, pinning Dantas to the cage. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Dantas gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh, twice. Beal attempts to use some close-range elbow strikes but Dantas pulls the clinch tighter, making it impossible to launch them. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Dantas avoids a foot stomp attempt. The referee decides that there is a lack of progress being made and separates them. A drained-looking Beal tries to close the distance between them. Strikes from Dantas keep Beal from stepping in too close, and he is forced to step back. Dantas comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Beal. Beal moves in too, and they start to grapple. Round two ends as time expires."

Kenny Florian:"That was a yawner of a round, and I think both fighters are now a bit frustrated. That round goes to Beal, 10-9 on my card. As he sits on his stool, Dantas starts getting psyched up - he knows it's now or never"

Round 3

Mike Goldberg:"There's the bell and round number three begins! Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. Beal covers up in the face of a barrage of big right hands, none of the punches find their way through. Beal uses head movement to cause a left jab to sail harmlessly by.
