I guess so. I'd been in that situation before - the whole first episode nerves are a pretty normal thing so it wasn't as bad as it could be. Some of the younger wrestlers looked a little on edge, particularly those who to that point had been wrestling in front of 26 guys in a high school gym. Now they were in the big leagues it suddenly became very real. That said, no one let it get to them and we had a very strong opening show.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> I really wanted a sell out to be honest, but we did enough to make it feel full, even if that meant the side behind the camera looked a little bare. EVOLVE HIGH IMPACT EPISODE #2

THE NUMBERS GAME

Recorded Monday 8 January 2014. Aired Thursday 11 January 2014 on MVL2 [0.66
(down 0.01)
]

Filmed at the World of Movie Magic, Orlando, FL (4,027)

ANNOUNCE TEAM:
Russell Eaton & Chaperone

<hr>

EATON:
Welcome one and all to the most evolutionary, the most revolutionary, and the most entertaining take on the greatest sport known to man, professional wrestling. This is EVOLVE Pro Wrestling and “Welcome to the Evolution”! I am, as always, your play-by-play announcer Russell Eaton and I'm sitting beside the one and only Chaperone. Let's head over to ringside...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Angles/RoscoeCarmine.jpg

ROSCOE CARMINE

IN-RING PROMO

The World of Movie Magic was once again transformed from bland soundstage into vibrant, and modern, wrestling arena in time for the second-ever episode of EVOLVE High Impact! The fans, marginally closer to capacity this time around, were in full voice as the white and blue lasers danced around the stage area.

Almost immediately following the introduction by the announce team, the #1 ranked heavyweight Roscoe Carmine made his entrance to a thunderous applause from those in attendance. The veteran made a quick entrance, taking little time to shake hands as he made his way to the ring.

Briefly reminding fans of his victory over Sean Riley in the main event of the first show, Carmine quickly turned the focus of the promo on the post-match attack from Buff Norton [Episode #1 - Buff attacked both Carmine and Riley after the match had ended]. Carmine called out Buff Norton, and to the delight of all but the most ardent Carmine fans in attendance, the Hollywood star, decked out this week in a golden "Award Winning" jacket, made his way to the ring...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Angles/BuffNorton.jpg

BUFF NORTON

Norton and Carmine began slowly circling each other as Norton deliberately dragged out the opening of his first (televised) wrestling promo in almost thirteen years. When the big man finally spoke into the microphone the roar of the crowd drowned him out and he had to wait again for them to quieten down before he could continue. Norton informed Carmine that the post-match attack was nothing personal – he held no grudge against the man from Denver and that the attack was merely a way for Buff “Effin” Norton to make his mark on the very first show of the future of professional wrestling.

Carmine seemed unimpressed, but Norton didn't give him much chance to respond before suggesting that in the past 19 years Roscoe had done his own fair share of post-match attacks, and that if every person on the receiving end was to hold a grudge, then Roscoe Carmine would be a marked man! Carmine could hardly argue with that, and while clearly unhappy at the attack seemed a little more accepting of Norton's presence when all of a sudden...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Angles/SeanRiley.jpg

SEAN RILEY

...”Supreme” Sean Riley made his entrance! Remaining about as far from the ring as he could without disappearing back through the entranceway, Riley began to complain about the fact that both of the men in the centre of the ring, talking about the future of professional wrestling, were over 40 years old and, as he put it, “well over the hill”.

Finally with a common enemy, Norton and Carmine were quick to cut down Riley's interference by reminding him he lost on last week's show. Riley countered with his ranking, #3, being four places above Buff Norton's, and only one away from the World Heavyweight title shot at Unleashed.

Norton said there was plenty of time for him to reach that #2 spot after tonight's main event, which he revealed would be a three-way contest between himself, Sava and Shay Kinsella, with the winner facing Hancock on next week's show for the #2 ranking and the spot against Roscoe Carmine at the Unleashed pay-per-view. Carmine seemed surprised by the announcement, but Russell Eaton and Chaperone were already confirming the match and the stipulation for fans watching at home. Riley, however, was absolutely incensed – not only that the match was taking place but that he wasn't getting a shot at the #2 ranking himself! Riley promised that if he wasn't going to get a shot at the World Heavyweight title at Unleashed then “some Hollywood failure” wasn't going to be getting one either. As he stepped back through the entranceway, Riley promised Carmine and whoever his potential challenger might be, that the inaugural World Heavyweight champion might not be Sean Riley, but the second man on the roll call of champions would be!

EATON:
Ladies and gentleman, what an opening! Talk about charisma, talk about confrontation, talk about passion for the business – we've got it all in abundance here in EVOLVE Pro Wrestling. But a warning at the end there from the Canadian – can we expect this apparent rivalry between Buff Norton and Sean Riley to escalate, Chaperone?

CHAPERONE:
I would put your house on it, Eaton. Roscoe Carmine was puffing out his chest, but once Buff Norton flashed him a smile and a poor excuse, the former “Texas Ranger” seemed quick to forgive. Sean Riley, however, looks to have taken the attack, and his lack of involvement in the main event tonight, as a personal insult. As he should.

EATON:
Definitely one to watch right there. And now, Division-X action as Shannon Sorensen takes on the Scotsman Fergus Storm with Storm's spot in the Unleashed title match potentially on the line.

DIVISION-X SINGLES CONTEST

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/ShannonSorensen.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/FergusStorm.jpg

SHANNON SORENSEN (5) vs FERGUS STORM (2)

As described by Russell Eaton and Chaperone on commentary, the pinfall by Shannon Sorensen on Fergus Storm on last week's show [the 3vs3 Division-X contest was the first ever match for EVOLVE] was enough to convince the Competitive Committee – currently headed by Chaperone – that Shannon Sorensen deserved a match against Fergus Storm, and the opportunity to move himself into the second ranking spot that the Scotsman filled heading into the contest.

As expected, the two wrestlers wasted no time and met on the entrance way, with apparently no love lost between the two after last week's events (both on High Impact and its post-show Aftermath). The mayhem that followed was thoroughly entertaining, although Storm's lack of name value in the US hurt the contest rating just a little.

While Sorensen looked the likely winner for almost all of the nine-minute-long match, it was Scottish superstar Fergus Storm that captured the victory after a couple of minutes of rule bending gave him a very distinct, and very unfair, advantage. A
Tartan Surprise (Standing Tornado DDT)
was enough to end the contest and keep Storm's second ranking spot safe for now!

Fergus Storm wins in 8:55 via pinfall [D-]

CHAPERONE:
If the rankings are the most evolutionary thing in EVOLVE Pro Wrestling – which I believe they are – then the Division-X has got to be a close second.

EATON:
I wholeheartedly agree, Chaperone! This isn't merely the Cruiserweight divisions of the past, this is an international melting pot that features the top talents in the world competing at the very highest level. And I believe that the more the fans get to known the wrestlings involved the better it will become.

CHAPERONE:
No doubt. Uh-oh! Here's a man that isn't playing games...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Angles/KrisPhoenix.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Angles/FergusStorm.jpg

KRIS PHOENIX & FERGUS STORM

IN-RING CONFRONTATION

Fergus Storm celebrated to his patented “hard rock celtic dance” theme tune, but his moment in the spotlight was cut decidedly short when it was replaced by the eerie gothic sounds of Kris Phoenix's entrance. The man ranked #1 in the Division-X wandered casually out from the entranceway clothed in a full-length, blood red coat, his unusual “half-do” haircut causing a murmur of confusion from those in the aisle who weren't as familiar with the veteran high-flier.

Phoenix wasn't looking for a fight with his fellow Fire & Honour camp member, however, and halted his advance several meters down the aisle and well out of reach of even Fergus Storm's diving attacks. With a microphone in his hand, Phoenix mockingly applauded Storm in the ring following his victory, suggesting that he was tired of wrestling Shannon Sorensen by this point and that a potential battle with Fergus Storm at the upcoming pay-per-view, Unleashed, would provide a fresh opponent if nothing else (even if they had trained together as part of the Fire & Honour camp). Phoenix said that he held the #1 spot for a reason – because he was the best damn Division-X wrestler in EVOLVE. As far as who the second-best wrestler in the company was – a second-best a long way behind him – well, Phoenix felt that no one had yet proven himself as far as he was concerned, least of all Fergus Storm.

Storm reached for a microphone and offered to fight Kris Phoenix then and there, but the American merely laughed his unusually maniacal laugh. Phoenix said that he had no intention of getting into the ring tonight. When Storm made a move towards Phoenix the American simply backed up the aisle towards the entranceway, warning the Scotsman that rather than attack him, he ought to be thinking up a way to console himself after Kris Phoenix walks out of Unleashed as the inaugural EVOLVE Division-X champion!
[D-]

EATON:
Phoenix certainly has the arrogance to be the #1 Division-X wrestler!

CHAPERONE:
A level of arrogance is necessary to really reach the top in this business, Eaton. Look at the biggest names – Terry Thunder, Guy Lothario, me – confidence in one's own abilities is an absolutely must. As soon as you doubt yourself, your opponent has already won.

CHAD ZUMA

WRESTLER PROFILE

Age:
33 (13 Year Pro),
Height:
6'5'',
Weight:
275lbs,
Fighting From:
Cape Town, South Africa

Finishing Moves:
Clothesline From Cape Town (Lariat), Z-Bomb (Running Powerbomb)

Affiliation:
Team Fire & Honour

8x African Heavyweight Champion; Ranked #177 on the 2013 Power 500

The Division-X may be the global brand of EVOLVE Pro Wrestling, but the Heavyweight division has its fair share of international talent, and Chad Zuma is undoubtedly one of the stand-out foreign talents outside of the Division-X. The South African has been wrestling for thirteen years, the majority of which he spent in Africa where he was a multi-time Heavyweight champion. The son of an influential Johannesburg businesswoman, Zuma and his mother formed the first nationally televised wrestling promotion in Africa in 2002. Not only was Zuma the founder of the promotion, he was also the top draw and he remains a megastar across the African continent.

For Zuma, however, the desire to push himself against the very best of professional wrestling brought him to the United States in 2012 – shortly after a farewell show in Cape Town saw him receive a 20,000 strong standing ovation – where he joined an underground, network-owned promotion.

Zuma, however, felt that the promotion was neither his style, nor his level, and he left after just a year to search for a wrestling environment that would truly showcase, and develop, his talents. Enter EVOLVE Pro Wrestling – just days after leaving his last company Zuma was in talks with Saul Keaton. As the first African-born wrestler to perform in a major United States wrestling promotion in decades, Chad Zuma will be hoping to take EVOLVE by storm.
[E]

EATON:
Chad Zuma is definitely a name to watch in EVOLVE Pro Wrestling. Although he's new to the United States and to the majority of our fans, Zuma is very experienced in the squared circle and in high pressure matches he'll surely be able to use that to his advantage.

CHAPERONE:
Zuma is also at an advantage over many of his competitors in that they are global stars – many have been seen across the world and you can pick up notes from watching them perform. Zuma, on the other hand, has been pretty confined to Africa until now and so he is in a unique position of having a lot of talent, a lot of experience but being something of a mystery to the majority of the US wrestling world – myself included. That could be a huge strength for the South African going forward.

DIVISION-X SINGLES CONTEST

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/Rubix.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/Schism.jpg

RUBIX (10) vs SCHISM (9)

The second match of the night was another Division-X contest with rankings implications as #10 ranked Rubix took on the man one spot above him at #9, Schism. There are not many wrestling promotions in the United States that will hold a match between two masked individuals, but this is nothing out of the ordinary for the eclectic Division-X of EVOLVE Pro Wrestling.

With Chaperone and Russell Eaton reminding fans constantly about the “revolutionary” or “evolutionary” rankings system and the suggestion that should Rubix win he will almost certainly swap positions with Schism, the importance of this match was certainly given much more weight than would normally be the case in what was, essentially, a match between two midcarders.

Very similar in quality to the opening match of the night, this was a contest heavily influenced by the fast-paced lucha libre style of wrestling and was very slick in execution for the most part, with only a couple of missed spots from the two wrestlers. The contest was pretty even, but Schism looked the most likely winner for much of the contest. Rubix, however, seemed to consistently avoid being pinned by whatever means he could, and that proved to be the deciding factor. A seventh minute roll-up from Schism – the latest of many – reached a two count before Rubix managed to roll it through, turning the pin on Schism and just about getting the three count to secure himself the surprise victory.

Rubix wins in 7:03 via pinfall [D-]

EATON:
Apparently Rubix is not a man you can keep down! I thought for sure Schism had done enough to get the victory but out of nowhere his opponent turned the match on its head. You may remember that my broadcast partner Chaperone is also Director of the Competitive Committee and he is currently conferring with the Lead Rankings Technician, Mr Lyndon Worth, at ringside regarding the match. In just a second we will find out whether we have had our very first landmark rankings change...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Angles/Chaperone.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Angles/LyndonWorth.jpg

CHAPERONE & LYNDON WORTH

RANKINGS CONFIRMATION

A ringside camera caught Director of the Competitive Committee, Chaperone, and his Lead Rankings Technician, Lyndon Worth, deep in discussion over a laptop, off-microphone. The discussion, Eaton assured us, centred around the complex (but, as we are constantly reminded, revolutionary!) rankings system and whether the victory of the Division-X's #10 Rubix over #9 Schism was enough for the two to trade places.

After a few moments discussion, the two seem in agreement and head towards the ring. While Worth – still as nervy and bumbling as the previous week – stands silently by, Chaperone carried a microphone and addressed the audience. Chaperone confirmed that in the last match history had indeed been made – Rubix and Schism shared the honour of being the first two competitors to be involved in an EVOLVE match that resulted in a change to the rankings.

As a result of his victory, Rubix would become the #9 ranked wrestler in the Division-X, while Schism's defeat would send him down one place to #10. Understandably, Rubix looked delighted at the result while Schism, having been kept around at ringside for the past few minutes, seemed thoroughly unimpressed at the proceedings!
[C+]

EATON:
There you have it folks – the rankings system works! A victory for Rubix sends him up a place, with Schism falling down one to compensate. At #9 and #10 it may seem a fairly minor step, but for Rubix it is one place closer to the title than he was earlier in the evening and, given the complex calculations involved in this rankings system, all results count! Speaking of results making a difference, the main event, as confirmed earlier in the show, will pit three heavyweights against each other. The winner of that bout will go on to face #2 ranked Hancock on next week's show with the potential to steal his position and the spot in the main event of the Unleashed pay-per-view at the end of the month. It's all to play for, so let's head to our ring announcer...

HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION THREE CORNERS MATCH

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/ShayKinsella.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/BuffNorton.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Diaries/EVOLVE/Matches/Sava.jpg

SHAY KINSELLA (4) vs BUFF NORTON (7) vs SAVA (8)

Three corners matches can often be awkward affairs that are really a collection of singles matches that switch competitors on a regular basis. Not so in this contest as three experienced professionals put on a match of the highest quality to main event the second ever show in EVOLVE history.

While technically speaking this match feature two babyfaces in Kinsella and Norton against one heel in Sava, there was little-to-no cooperation between any two of the competitors and this really was a free-for-all in every sense of the phrase.

Sava's brute strength and physical presence was enough to give him a good start to the match, with a particularly dominating display against the much smaller Shay Kinsella. Against Buff Norton he had a little more trouble, with Norton using the crowd to his advantage. Once Kinsella had taken Sava off his feet, however, the match changed course once again and the man from Urbana, IL used his mat skills to great effect until Buff Norton charged in to break things up.

Given the three entirely different skillsets on display, the match was very evenly matched, with each wrestler gaining an advantage in one situation or another. In the end it took some outside interference for the contest to come to an end. When “Supreme” Sean Riley's entrance theme hit in the fifteenth minute, Buff Norton stopped his attack on Shay Kinsella to turn towards the entranceway. The Canadian walked slowly down the aisle, stopping within hearing distance but out of arm's length of the former Hollywood star. However, with Norton's attention focused entirely on Riley, he didn't see the bull-like Sava charging behind him, bowling him over the top rope to the outside where Riley set to work dismantling his apparent rival. In the ring, Sava roared in celebration and turned around...only to walk straight into an
Urbana Native (Superkick)
from Kinsella! With the fun police attempting to separate Norton and Riley on the outside there was no one to break the pin and the three count quickly followed.

Shay Kinsella wins in 16:14 via pinfall [C+]

EATON:
Sean Riley ruined a fair fight by getting involved there! Who knows who might have triumphed had Buff Norton not been distracted.

CHAPERONE:
Look, Eaton, Sean Riley made a promise earlier in the show that Buff Norton wouldn't get a title shot and it would appear that he has come through on that promise. You can't blame him for that...

EATON:
You can when it decides the outcome of a match. Still, take nothing away from Shay Kinsella whose victory means he will face #2 ranked Hancock in next week's main event with a place in Unleashed's Heavyweight title match on the line.

CHAPERONE:
Potentially.

EATON:
Potentially?

CHAPERONE:
The spot in the title match is potentially on the line. This is not some arbitrary rankings system, this is done with some serious calculations that someone like you, and definitely the fans, wouldn't be able to get your head around if I sat here for the next three hours. There are so many permutations and variables that only our Lead Rankings Technician, Lyndon Worth, would be able to confirm that a victory over Hancock would give Kinsella the #2 spot.

EATON:
They don't call it revolutionary rankings system for nothing, I guess! Speaking of Hancock, it looks like he's here now...

Following the match the guitar riff of Hancock's EVOLVE entrance theme crashed out across the arena and Shay Kinsella was immediately on his toes in preparation of a potential attack. That attack didn't come, however, with Hancock walking down to ringside and remaining there, close enough to see the whites of Kinsella's eyes, but far enough away that there could be no mistaking that he was not there for a fight.

The two men, and now confirmed opponents on next week's show, stared each other down for what seemed an eternity before the credits started to roll.

EATON:
Now that is setting itself up to be another classic. Unfortunately, that's all we've got time for this week, but be sure to tune in next week where Shay Kinsella will face Hancock in their first-ever matchup. Expect explosive action, an entertaining spectacle, and a ringside seat to the evolution of professional wrestling. I've been Russell Eaton, he was Chaperone, from EVOLVE Pro Wrestling, good night!

<p>I don't even get a prediction right! hahaha <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> As always, great show, I really like the style of the promos and the way that they're written. Also the "details" at the show are amazing, like the opening explaining the lasers stuff is just wow!</p><p> </p><p>

The feud between Norton and Riley is a great way to keep them out of the title picture (I guess), while Carmine and someone else start chasing the big gold. Also the segment with Kris Phoenix was amazing, and Chaperone saying that every succesful wrestler needs arrogance was perfect and hilarious at the same time, as him been the SOB that he is on backstage.</p>

Like the confrontation at the end that isn't really typical SE. Good old fashioned staredown.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Not to worry! In some ways comments like this (and Andy's below) are even more inspiring than predictions (although they are great too). I'm a big fan of the old-fashioned staredown. They are not the easiest things to write a particularly lengthy segment on (it is, after all, two people standing still looking at each other!) but I find it a good way to show hostility without falling into the trap of having lots of beatdowns at the end of every show. Obviously that worked especially well here, as being both faces it wouldn't really fit to have a brawl between Hancock and Kinsella, but at the same time their match "next week" has a lot at stake so there is definitely the tension between the two.</p><p> </p><p> That's what I was aiming for anyway! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Andy_Kobain" data-cite="Andy_Kobain" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37715" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I don't even get a prediction right! hahaha <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> As always, great show, I really like the style of the promos and the way that they're written. I found with TCW, and now I'm finding with EVOLVE, that some of the best feuds can come about almost by accident, as a result of being away from an inaugural title feud but being over enough to need a big feud. In TCW it was Jarid Hart and, for a while, Omar Xavian and the Ares vs Silverback feud developed as a result of both being away from the title. Norton and Riley has developed in a very similar way - I knew they weren't going to be in the first title match as both title matches were chosen, then the rankings, then the first month built around both of those things. That they ended up together was just fortunate booking initially! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Chaperone has some fun lines as the show's go on. It's a little difficult making him a heel, without being too annoying so I'm glad you seem to be liking him. Russell Eaton is aimed at a C+ anouncer (I think he starts as a C+?). He repeats things <em>a lot</em>, but that is done deliberately. It was re-reading Under Pressure (and Bigpapa's SWF, TCW and WWE diaries) that made me decide to go back to commentary, as I felt it can add a lot of personality to style that, for the most part, is descriptive rather than scripted.</p><p> </p><p> Just as a quick update - there will be another "episode" of Aftermath from MichiganHero in the next couple of days, and then I'll put up the next card preview and there should be another "backstory" post between then and the show (I'm aiming for around one a week, but that will obviously change depending on whether anything happens to write about!). In terms of the save itself, I have booked and run as far as the first two shows of February, while the rest of February is pre-booked. I have also got a pretty good outline for both the February and March PPVs.</p>

Welcome to the Evolution! We are already three weeks into the future of professional wrestling, as the World of Movie Magic in Orlando, Florida plays host to its third consecutive episode of EVOLVE High Impact. In addition to the very best wrestling, and the very best entertainment, EVOLVE High Impact Episode #3 will continue to introduce you to some of the stars of EVOLVE Pro Wrestling, the future of sports entertainment.</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Division-X has proven itself to be a groundbreaking division in pro-wrestling, with superb performances from the likes of Fergus Storm, El Estandar and Shannon Sorensen. This week it is the turn of the top-ranked Division-X wrestler, Kris Phoenix, who must defend his top spot, and the place it grants in the Unleashed pay-per-view title match, against a hardcore legend, and no stranger to the top turnbuckle, 13TEEN. Phoenix has impressed in Japan, in Mexico and in the United States, but he will surely be in for a match like no other when he takes on the man dubbed "Extremicidal" by the fans.</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The second match of the night might not have rankings implications for those involved, but the four men taking part in the tag team match will almost certainly be desperate for a win to kick off their EVOLVE in-ring careers. South African Chad Zuma - profiled on last week's show - will be teaming up with an experienced wrestler in the form of Marcus Studd. Their opponents will be sibling duo The Gibson Brothers, Matt and Mike, who are currently unranked. With the added incentive of getting a victory over ranked opposition, and the advantage of having teamed together before, could the Canadian brothers be in for a shock victory? Or will the experience of Studd and Zuma win out?</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The main event will be a tense affair, as Hancock and Shay Kinsella square off for a place in the main event of the first ever EVOLVE pay-per-view, Unleashed. Shay Kinsella earned this match by defeating Buff Norton and Sava in a three corners match last week, but will that match have taken it out of the veteran? Hancock will certainly be going into this match fresh, having yet to compete in-ring for EVOLVE. However with everything to lose, could the pressure get to Hancock in his first ever meeting with Shay Kinsella inside the squared circle?</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

But it is not only in-ring action that EVOLVE Pro Wrestling promises each week with High Impact, and on this week's show there will also be a Wrestler Profile on the brutal Sava, El Estandar is scheduled to be interviewed by Hannah Gold and Buff Norton promises to make a statement to the fans.</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Coming to the ring in a Hawaiian shirt over his ring gear, Buff Norton continued to show off the most varied wardrobe in the company as he shook hands with the crowd at ringside. After waving his hands to the audience and making an already loud ovation deafening, Buff Norton headed for a microphone.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Following a cheap pop catchphrase, Norton reminded fans of the events at the end of last week's show – where Sean Riley interrupted the three-way match and cost Norton his chance of winning. Norton said that despite the events of last week, he didn't begrudge Shay Kinsella his match with Hancock later on in the show. He wanted that shot for himself, sure, but Norton said he was confident enough that he'd get an opportunity to rise up the rankings and win the title sooner rather than later. What Norton did take exception to, he explained, was Sean Riley sticking his nose in where it wasn't wanted – not once, but twice, on last week's show [Riley also interrupted an opening verbal exchange between Norton and Roscoe Carmine]. </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Norton was quick to admit that on the first episode of High Impact he had made his dramatic, Hollywood entrance by attacking Riley and Carmine, but the man from California explained that he did so after the match had ended, and not during it. Riley, on the other hand, had a direct impact on the outcome of that match, and for that he needed to pay. With a microphone already in his hand, Mack remained on the stage area, a huge smirk on his face. Mack asked Buff Norton if he thought that, ignoring the interference from Sean Riley, he actually had any chance of victory last week against Sava and Sean Riley. However, before the Hollywood star could reply Mack cut in with his own answer – no. </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Mack said that Buff “Effin” Norton was a Hollywood sellout, and that while the fans might like his stupid catchphrases and his silly shirts, the reality of EVOLVE Pro Wrestling was that the numbers mattered, the records mattered and money mattered. Reminding fans that he was not only above Buff Norton in the rankings, but he also had a victory under his belt (unlike Norton), Mack questioned why EVOLVE High Impact was once again being opened by a middle-of-the-road “former wrestler” and not an "icon in the making" like himself.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Norton, finally being able to get a word in, said that the reason Luther Mack was not opening the show was because the owners didn't want the fans to fall asleep before the first match and, with the fans laughing, offered to give Mack a few lessons in becoming an entertaining talker.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Mack didn't appreciated Norton's humour, however, and started down towards the ring – something Buff Norton seemed to be ready for – but the fun police, consisting of road agent Richie Santana, the officials and a group of unnamed security, managed to place themselves between the Mack and the ring before anything could really kick off between the two. That seemed to shock both Hannah Gold and El Estandar, who frantically began reeling off as many typical, and unrelated, Spanish phrases he could think of. Sleaze simply shook his head, and promised that whether El Estandar won next week or not, on the first High Impact of February it would be El Estandar vs Joey Sleaze and if it was for the title, all the better! With Hancock playing the driven youngster looking to prove himself in a new company, and Shay Kinsella the wily veteran proving he can still wrestle at the top level, there was certainly enough of a setup to make this match a standout. Unfortunately while it was a good, solid main event it lacked the extra “something” that made the previous two headline matches great – perhaps thanks to the slightly lower name value of the two on show.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> In terms of performances there was little to complain about, however, as chain wrestling, mat wrestling and brawling raged back and forth for more than fifteen minutes. With Hancock's second-placed ranking on the line, and with that ranking providing a shot at the vacant World Heavyweight title in just over a week's time, there was definitely all to fight for and several last gasp kickouts provided proof of just how much winning this match meant to the two competitors.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div <p>I was planning on putting up an "out-of-show" post up before this episode, but didn't have the time to get it finished and, given that it isn't particularly time-sensitive, decided to get the show out first. Hopefully I'll get one or two backstory posts out Episode #4. As always, expect an Aftermath to be posted next <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Hope you all enjoy the show!</p>
