CHIKARA 2001: Here Comes the Fun

Recommended Posts

With WCW and ECW still fresh in the ground, a hole has been left in American wrestling. Now more than ever the independent scene is hotting up as everybody tries to create the next big thing to rival Vinnie Mac's wrestling empire. As the WWF continues to create more mature, gritty programming, however, more and more indie promotions try to do the same. John Zandig's Combat Zone Wrestling offers deathmatches which would make all but the most experienced of Big Japan and FMW tape traders cringe, Ian Rotten's IWA: Mid-South continues to try and offer an edgy product which includes some of the most brutal matches you can see, and the dozens of other promotions around the world follow suit.

But maybe...maybe it doesn't all have to be blood, cursing, and anger? Maybe there's another way...

Wrestling journalists in and around Philadelphia are buzzing about a new promotion promising fans fast paced, family friendly fun. With young but ambitious wrestlers Mike Quackenbush and Reckless Youth at the reigns, and a secret investor known only as "The Director of Fun" offering the pair around half a million dollars to play with, the future looks bright for this young promotion. Already links have been made between the promotion and many independent wrestlers from across the country (And in some cases, globe). Whether the promotion will succeed or not is anybody's guess. One thing's for sure - it's going to be a wild ride!

We don't have a fanbase of millions, we have a few hundred die-hard fans

We don't have muscle bound superstars, we have young, athletic, gifted wrestlers hungry for a shot at the big time

We don't have sneering anti-heroes, we have our heroic technicos

We don't have boring bad guys you don't care about, we have dastardly rudos

We don't have "divas", we have some of the most talented female wrestlers we could find

We don't have blood and weapons every match, we have athletically minded contests

We don't have crass segments aiming for shock value, we have fun characters and awesome storylines

CHIKARA - We have fun!

<em>With the show only days away, The Director of Fun has announced the full match listing for CHIKARA's début: The Renaissance Dawns. Boasting an international, inter-gender, inter promotional and interesting (Badum-cha) main event, and a packed undercard including some of the best high flyers, technical wrestlers and brawlers on the planet, The Renaissance Dawns is sure to be an action packed show.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Outkasts (Chris Hero & Reckless Youth) vs Double Inoue (Takako & Kyoko Inoue)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In what promises to be a hard hitting bout, Reckless Youth takes Chris Hero under his wing as the pair attempt to mark CHIKARA's first main event with a rudos victor. In the opposite corner are Double Inoue, a duo best known for their time in All-Japan Women's Pro Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush vs "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In a technical wrestling fan's dream match, two of the best grapplers on the independent circuit tangle in The Renaissance Dawns' semi-main event. While neither man is a household name, this bout promises to deliver more brilliant mat work, counter exchanges and mind boggling submission holds than you can shake a stick at!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Street Sharks (Shark Boy & New Jack) vs The Kneeslappers (Nigel McGuinness & Colt Cabana)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

CHIKARA is all about teamwork, but sometimes guys come to events solo. Not to worry, because The Director of Fun is always ready to step up and pair together any two wrestlers, however odd the match looks on paper. On one side we have "The Original Chondrichthyes", Shark Boy, a hungry young rookie out for more than just a few surfers, teaming up with ECW alumnus New Jack, a man without two things: Fear, and patience for half-man-half shark hybrids. Across from them are two opposites: All the way from the UK we have pure technical wrestler Nigel McGuiness, and from The Windy City itself we have part-time interviewer part-time wrestler slash funny man, Colt Cabana. This match will definitely be one to watch, one way or another!</p><p> </p><p>

CHIKARA proudly presents...

The Renaissance Dawns!

Sunday the 6th of May, 2001

From the Bevard Studio in Syracuse, New York

Attendance of 162 people (Sell-out)

As the small crowd of 162 people finish taking their seats around the sold-out Bevard Studio, the lights go out. A hush falls throughout the room as footsteps can be heard, followed by the very clear sound of somebody entering the ring.

"CHIKARA - CHIKARA means strength, or power. And there is nothing more powerful, than fun", a voice booms out from in the ring. "Here at CHIKARA, we don't have a boss, or a general manager, or anything like that. We only have me - the director of fun".

The lights come back on to reveal...

http://i.imgur.com/KhHg1Z5.jpg

A wave of confusion spreads throughout the crowd, as some of the audience recognise the Director of Fun as none-other than the recording artist behind the ill-fated "No Limits Soldiers" stable from the now defunct World Championship Wrestling, Master P. The new director of fun holds a long, black case.

"Last time I was involved in wrestling, things were different. Things were tense, bad decisions were made, and most of all? There was no fun. So, I've forked out my own cash to put this company together. As the first ever Director of Fun, my term will be full of nothing but non-stop action, twists, turns, and more great wrestling than you could imagine. And, as my first official act, I'm activating CHIKARA's first title". Master P opens the case to reveal a pair of championship belts.

http://i.imgur.com/kVZn9eM.jpg

Master P goes on to explain that the titles are the CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas. Unlike other wrestling titles - where challengers are decided upon at the whim of whether is in charge - the CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas utilizes a simple ranking system. If a team win a match, they gain a point. If they lose a match, they lose a point. Once a team reaches three points, they get a title shot, and the first two teams to win three matches in a row will face each other to decide the inaugural champions.

The Brian Kendrick vs Amazing Red

http://i.imgur.com/1fmGdLQ.jpg vs http://i.imgur.com/jX66zGF.jpg

While Amazing Red came dressed in street clothes, The Brian Kendrick took a more unique approach, outfitting himself in black and white striped tights which made him look more like a cartoon bank robber than a wrestler. In fact before even entering the ring the young upstart had stolen a fan's soda, a ring crew member's pen and referee Bryce Remsburg's notepad, although the official made sure to get it back before calling for the bell.

As expected the match was a fast paced display, but Kendrick always seemed one step ahead mentally, even if he couldn't keep up with Red in the air. The match ended quickly after Red missed a flying dropkick and was caught in a camel clutch. The hold took a lot out of the daredevil, who was soon after put away by Kendrick's Slice Bread #2

Winner: The Brian Kendrick via pinfall in 6:09 after a Sliced Bread #2

In anticipation of two of the night's matches, CHIKARA officials presented a series of promos to the audience using a projector aimed at the wall behind the ring.

http://i.imgur.com/LdVS2w2.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/thqRAN5.jpg

The Trashmen cut a promo on their opponents, with the more experienced Duke Droese doing most of the talking. "I've been taking out trash solo all my life, but when I was told I'm going to be facing two opponents, I knew just the man to call. And now that I've taken Cleaning & Maintenance Punk under my wing, you can be sure that Duke Droese will be taking out all the trash CHIKARA can put in front of him, starting with the 80's express!"

http://i.imgur.com/D8YyOSE.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/RDGs3c1.jpg

the 80's Express (Air Paris and AJ Styles) had a more negative approach, as they cut a promo in matching Miami Vice esque suits.

"You think you're so funny, and entertaining, stinking up this promotion in more ways than one? You're not funny, you're a bunch of stinking bums, who ain't fit to step into the ring with the men that time forgot, the 80's express!" Styles spat into the microphone.

http://i.imgur.com/nept0KG.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/BIFA2uL.jpg

The team of Blitzkrieg and Excalibur (self-christened as "The Good, Bad, and Not At All Ugly") stood in front of a green screen displaying an old western style bar. The two both wore gun belts and traditional cowboy gear alongside their masks.

"Now see, we've heard these fellas called Double Feature think they know all about fashion, but me and my partner Blizkrieg here are bringing back some real fashion, from when men were men. And if those two yellow bellied dogs want to stop that? Well, I guess it turns out this town ain't big enough for the both of us, and we're just gonna have to run those rudos out of here and back where they came from!"

http://i.imgur.com/hZ5bKJ5.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/tXPkt25.jpg

"Now see, Claudio", Daniels smirked, "our Director of Fun has smiled fondly on us, because he's put us up against a pair of un-stylish losers who want to dress like cowboys".

"Well, Christopher, as you know, I didn't spent ten years in Zurich's top modelling school to stand here and let two posers get away with dressing like garbage. Not in my ring! So after we beat those two masked slobs, me and my good partner Christopher, who also designed our fantastic outfits, are going to take those losers masks off, so the whole world can see what ugly little things they are!"

"Yes we are, because this season, you know what's in style? A rudos victory!"

http://i.imgur.com/LdVS2w2.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/thqRAN5.jpg vs http://i.imgur.com/D8YyOSE.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/RDGs3c1.jpg

In contrast to the first match of the night, which lasted a few minutes, these two teams went at it for over a quarter of an hour, with the momentum going back and forth throughout the bout. In the end it proved to be Droese's experience that gave The Trashmen the win, as a perfectly executed hot tag from himself to the younger CM Punk let his protege clear out the ring. After putting Styles out of the ring, Punk hit Paris with a double underhook backbreaker, capped off with a suicide senton out of the ring onto Styles. Taking advantage of the lucha libre tag rules, Drose rushed the ring and pinned Air Paris after a trash compacter.

Once again the projector whirled into life. This time the featured video started with a title card - "Some tag teams work well together. Others...", before showing backstage footage.

"A SHARK?!" New Jack roared as he kicked a chair over in the backstage area, narrowly missing his partner for tonight. Shark Boy frantically started signing to New Jack, who only seemed angrier. "Boy don't you start with me right now, I'm not in the mood for this! I don't care what no Director of Fun says, I am NOT teaming up with no stinkin' fish!". Shark Boy once again tries using sign language to communicate with his partner. "I don't care if you're my BIGGEST fan, I didn't come here to make nobody happy but New Jack!". Shark Boy hesitates slightly before signing a reply. "You WHAT?". More signing from Shark Boy. "YOU TOLD THE DIRECTOR OF FUN YOU'D WRESTLE FOR FREE IF HE TEAMED YOU WITH ME?!". More sign language. "AND THEY STILL PAID YOU? WELL THAT'S GOOD FOR YOU SHARKIE, LOTS OF FUN, BUT WHAT DO I GET OUT OF THIS?!". Shark Boy walks off camera for a few seconds and comes back holding a large pizza box which has "For New Jack" on top of it. Tentatively, New Jack opens the pizza box and looks inside. "Is that...is that four cheeses?". Shark Boys nods frantically. "Well...now see, ''m still not happy about this but...for four cheeses...one match, okay? We team up ONCE!" Shark Boy practically jumps for joy as he walks away. "And when the heck did I learn to speak sign language anyway?"

http://i.imgur.com/U6rzH3H.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/ckoDbuJ.jpg

"Look, I know this team's not perfect for either of us..." Colt Cabana tries to explain as he stands nose to nose with a red faced Nigel McGuinness.

"Nono, Colt, not perfect would be me teaming with the worst wrestler in the locker room", the irate Englishman bellows. "This is me being stuck with the bloody company interviewer!"

"And announcer", Colt adds.

"I DON'T CARE! I came here to wrestle, not be a part of some comedy freakshow!"

"Whoa, whoa", Colt steps back from the seething Nigel. "It's not a freakshow, it's just a bit of fun".

"Wrestling isn't about "fun", Colt! Wrestling is about headlocks, and crowds that respectfully golf clap after arm drags, and sixty-minute draws, not Muppets like you! I'm a professional, so I'll go out there and win, but I swear that if you mess this up for me..."

Nigel walks off muttering under his breath as Colt shrugs.

"What was I doing before wrestling?", Kenny Omega says into the camera as he sits on his hotel room bed, cam corder in hand. "I was a scientist. But...something went wrong. One of my experiments went wrong, and that's how I ended up here, in two-thousand and one". Kenny reaches into his bag on the floor and pulls out what looks like a DVD case with Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny on the front. "Don't believe me? This was in my bag at the time, so it came all the way from twenty-twenty - it's a copy of Space Jam 2". Kenny waves the DVD case at the camera. "But that's not the only bit of the future I'm bringing back. When Kenny Omega gets into the ring with Super Dragon, you're going to see some special things, moves you've never seen before. The future is here. It's name? Kenny Omega!

In the match that set out to answer the question nobody asked (Who's tougher, the fashion industry or luchador cowboys), only one thing was certain - there's no love love. From the get go the rudos showed nothing but disrespect, starting with when Claudio Castagnoli accepted Excalibur's offer to start the match with a back to back duel only to spin around at the three count and plant his much smaller opponent with a vicious German suplex.

Sadly, all the high flying moves the cowboys could pull out were no match for Castagnoli's strength and Daniels trickery. After a distraction from the illegal Daniels allowed Castagnoli to uppercut Blitzkrieg into next Tuesday, the powerful Swiss supermodel hoisted his opponent up and planted him with the sit-out straitjacket powerbomb he calls The Catwalk Collision to end the rather one sided contest.

As promised in their earlier promo, the fashion obsessed duo of Double Feature set out to take their opponents masks. As the pair set at Blitzkrieg, Excalibur valiantly dove into the ring to save his partner, but fell to the numbers game. As all hope seemed lost...

http://i.imgur.com/8O9YuUf.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/iniVqkR.jpg

Forgoing their main event curtain time, Kyoko and Takako, collectively known as Double Inoue, rushed the ring, landing clubbing blows on the rudo duo and forcing them to retreat. Daniels yelled something at the pair of joshi competitors as they helped up their fellow technicos, while Castagnoli balled up his fists and walked to the back

Super Dragon vs Kenny Omega

http://i.imgur.com/xpe1nm5.jpgvshttp://i.imgur.com/xwde2pg.jpg

The two men went all out from the onset, both clearly having no intention of taking this one slowly. While Omega went for a series of highly theatrical moves, most notably a hadouken strike to the chest which took Super Dragon off his feet and sent the crowd wild, Dragon kept it simple with wild, stiff strikes. The turning point came when Omega attempted a step-up enziguri, only for Dragon to push him away and follow up with a low blow which went unseen by Bryce Remsburg. Seconds later Omega was the victim of a vicious curb stomp that sealed his fate.

With the fifth match of the evening drawing close, Cheerleader Melissa and T.J Perkins were already stood in the ring. Melissa wore a traditional cheerleader get-up, while T.J's attire made him look more like an olympic runner than anything else, complete with a large white sticker reading "T.J Perkins" across his chest. As the pair talked tactics the lights dimmed...

http://i.imgur.com/P35RxHM.jpg

Dr James Mitchell made his way out from the back to ringside, a microphone in his hand. "The pair of you think you're the perfect athletes. Melissa, you're flexible and you have endless spirit. T.J, you have speed and stamina that most human beings could never dream of. But, you both have one flaw - you're humans. And humans are weak. Humans tire, they give up, and eventually, they have nothing left. So, to conquer CHIKARA, I worked tirelessly in my lab, with the best technology money can buy. And now, I give you my greatest inventions..."

http://i.imgur.com/lzbwPki.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/aSL0Ztc.jpg

The two hulking wrestlers made their way out to flank Mitchell. "CenaBot Mk1, and SamoaJoeBot Mk1!"

Mitchell's robots wasted no time as they stormed the ring, throwing rights and lefts in perfect rhythm. Throughout the match they worked together effectively, with TJP and Melissa only hanging in thanks to their speed, resilience and creativity. Time and time again it looked futile, only for Melissa to unleash a bizarre counter, or for TJ to pull off a mind boggling aerial manoeuvre. Mitchell slowly became more angry as the humans showed that their fighting spirit and wit was allowing them to hang in their with their stronger, faster and more well oiled opponents. After almost ten minutes Mitchell finally snapped, punching the ring apron in anger. As CenaBot charged at Melissa Mitchell jumped onto the apron, yelling instructions at CenaBot. The nearly three-hundred pound machine stopped in its tracks, clearly having not been programmed with the multi-tasking capabilities to listen to Mitchell while still wrestling. Seeing her chance, Melissa snuck behind CenaBot, hooked its arms and. in an amazing show of strength. planted it down with a kudome valentine directly into a pinfall.

Backstage, Chris Hero and Reckless, known collectively as The Outkasts, are being interviewed by Colt Cabana.

"I don't care how many titles they've won, how many women they've beat, or who they are. Tonight, you're going to see us take revenge on everybody who shunned us. Society has been harsh to me and Chris, because of who we are, but our story vengeance starts tonight, and by the end of it everybody will know that we truly are the greatest wrestlers in CHIKARA", Reckless Youth hisses to Colt Cabana, his expression one of stone faced anger. "CHIKARA will be marked with the shame of a rudos victory tonight, and soon, Chris and I will be crowned as the first Campeonatos de Parejas".

"Yes, yes we will!" Chris exclaims. "We may be smaller than most, we may not be as powerful, but as anybody who has read Justice League of America fourty-three to fourty-six knows, powers aren't e-"

"Chris", Reckless Youth hisses, instantly silencing his partner. "What did I tell you?"

"...More anger, less comic books", Chris mumbles like a disappointed child, much to the amusement of Colt Cabana.

"Exactly. We are The Outkasts, and tonight we carve our name into CHIKARA's legacy!"

"And just like Dr Octopus in issue seven-hundred of the Amazing Spider-Man-"

"CHRIS!", Reckless Youth puts his hand over his partners mouth to silence him. "Look, Cabana, you only need to know one thing - We didn't come to have fun. We came to win. We came to show the world that we are the best there is, and no team will stop us".

In a match best categorized as "disorganised", two make-shift teams competed in a race to see who could learn to work together first. After a few minutes of arguing and miscommunication, New Jack and Shark Boy finally seemed to get on the same page, taking out quickly and effectively to make sure neither man became tired. Their opponents, on the other hand, only drifted further apart. Whenever Colt made a joke about the action or did something light hearted, Nigel would show his disgust, often starting an argument between the two. Nigel's clinical wrestling became ineffective as the rag-tag duo were unable to capitalize on any opening they found. At long last things boiled over as, irritated at Colt engaging Shark Boy in a game of rock-paper-scissors-lizard-spock to decide who would start their chop exchange, Nigel hopped off the apron and walked out. Colt fought for as long as he could, but eventually the two-on-one situation became too much and Shark Boy put him away with the Deep Sea Drop.

At a local fairground, Colt and Austin Aries are stood next to the game where you win by throwing baseballs at targets. With a cocky grin across his face, Aries knocks down all five targets with five balls.

"Austin Aries, you haven't been booked for tonight's show, but you still intend to make an impact in CHIKARA. Wh-"

"Listen up, Colt", Austin interrupts. "I was the best ball player in the entire college system last year, but I gave all that up. Why? Because I know that with this arm, these looks, and my athleticism, there's no way anybody can hit a home run against me between the ropes. The duel sports superstar is coming to CHIKARA, and he's playing hardball!"

"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush vs "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson

http://i.imgur.com/Cnx1kab.jpgvshttp://i.imgur.com/bdab2Oa.jpg

The nights semi-main event was, as expected, a great show of technical wrestling. In the early going the two locked up and traded holds in a calm, competitive manner, but pretty soon Danielson found himself falling behind, with Quackenbush's catch wrestling skills coming out on top. Eventully, after several frustrating hold exchanges left him being held down to the mat, Danielson showed why he's known as The American Dragon as he countered a hammerlock by elbowing Quackenbush in the jaw, spinning behind his opponent, and putting him down with a brutal sleeper suplex, followed by an armbar that he refused to release despite Quackenbush's arm clearly grasping the ropes. Mike's attempts to engage in more mat wrestling were met with stiff kicks, hard elbows and even, at times, attempts to slide out of the ring to avoid locking up. Late in the match Danielson caught Quackenbush with a hard roundhouse to the jaw which appeared to knock his mouthguard out, causing Bryan to pounce and deliver a series of brutal headbutts until Bryce Remsburg pulled him away, reminding The American Dragon that under lucha libre rules competitors can be disqualified for excessive punishment. Despite getting his mouthguard back in, Quackenbush appeared dazed and in pain, which Danielson quickly pounced on with more strikes, turning the match into a one sided beatdown, much to the dismay of the crowd. With his opponent almost completely out of it, Danielson charged in for a crooked arm lariat. With seemingly the last of his energy, Quackenbush dropped down low, catching Bryan in an inside cradle. With Quack not having used an offensive manoeuvre in minutes, the over confident Danielson was caught by surprise, and by the time he thought to kick out the bell had already sounded.

Still dazed from his own match, Colt Cabana stood backstage with Cheerleader Melissa.

"So how did it feel to defeat a robot, Melissa? Is it harder than wrestling a human? What about bears?"

"Well, Colt, it's not that different once you get down to it. CenaBot and SamoaJoeBot are great wrestlers, but in the end-"

Melissa was cut off as a hulking figure walking into view, pushing Colt Cabana aside and grabbing his microphone.

http://i.imgur.com/RjMwseN.jpg

"Erm, can I help you?" Melissa asked as she looked up at the nearly seven foot tall man in front of her.

"I know what you really are, Melissa! I know why you're here! You thought you could hide it but you couldn't!"

"Hide what?" Colt piped in.

"That she's a vampire, Cabana! A blood sucking vampire! Luckily, Abyss, the world famous vampire hunter, is here to stop her causing any damage!"

"I'm not a vampire", Melissa replies sternly, her hands on her hips.

"I've seen all the movies, I've read all the books, you're just like all those other new vampires! You're all sparkly, and you're pretty, and you're faster than any normal person!"

"Are you serious? I'm not a vampire, I'm a cheerleader!"

"Of course I am!" Abyss grunts. "I know your plan - beat your opponent, then suck their blood. Luckily, you were against robots tonight, or your opponents would have bite marks on their neck! And I refuse to let that happen!"

"That sounds like a challenge!" Colt says as he steps between the two.

"Fine", Melissa sighs, "if it's what it takes to get you to accept I'm not a vampire, I'll wrestle you at the next CHIKARA event".

Abyss laughs as he turns and leaves, his mission accomplished.

Unsurprisingly, this match was very physical, as the rudos treated their female opposition as they would any males they step into the ring with, and the technicos showed why nineties AJW was reknown for stiff, brutal bouts. Forearms, boots, and palms flew fast and hard as all four competitors beat the tar out of each other at lightning speed. The more inexperienced Hero frequently found himself in the ring rescuing his mentor Reckless Youth from either Takako or Kyoko's furious offence, but just as often was left to fend for himself as he was beaten into the mat. Slowly but surely, Reckless Youth's laziness (Or perhaps cowardice) took its toll, as Double Inoue chipped away at Hero. Even when Hero and Reckless Youth managed to isolate one member of the technicos team, the Japanese duo's experience as a team allowed them to get the hot tag time and time again. At long last things looked to be at an end when, after a hot tag, Takako laid out Hero with the spinning backfist she calls the Beauty Fist, as Reckless Youth and Kyoko brawled on the outside. She dropped down to cover Hero, but before Bryce Remsburg could start counting somebody broke through the audience and jumped onto the apron...

Christopher Daniels loudly taunted Remsburg, mostly insulting his choice of blue for the referees shirts and his hair cut, distracting the senior official away from the action. Takako broke the pin and started to walk towards Daniels, only for a second man to slide into the ring and cut her off with a vicious uppercut...

Claudio Castagnoli smirked after nearly knocking Takako's head off, much to the anger of he crowd. He quickly rolled out of the ring as Hero climbed to his feet and Daniels dropped down off the apron. Slowly, Hero lifted Takako, held her in a hangman's clutch, then laid her out with the Cerebral Cortex Rolling Elbow. Hero covered, allowing Bryce Remnsburg to count, but at the last possible second Takako kicked out! At ringside Double Feature burst into anger, yelling that it was a three count as Reckless Youth continued to hold off Kyoko and the crowd burst into "Takako" chants to try and spur the technico to victory. It was not to be, however, as Hero lifted Takako and once again hit her with a Cerebral Cortex Rolling Elbow, finally putting her down for the three count.

Winners: The Outkasts in 20:26 via pinfall after Chris Hero pinned Takako Inoue from a pair of Cerebral Cortex Rolling Elbow's following interference from Double Feature

The Outkasts now have one point of the three needed for a Campeonatos de Parejas title shot

Segment rating: D

Overall show grade: D

Not too shabby for a first show. The angles were all pretty weak, but a pair of strong main events made up for it, and to be honest I'm more booking for the enjoyment of it than show grades so as long as things don't get too bad I'm not going to cut down on the angles. Any feedback is appreciated :D

<p>I've added a title history/points standing for the Campeonatos de Parejas into the first post. I'll probably look at cleaning it up and formatting it better in a while (Once there's actual champions), but for now I think it looks good enough. I'll probably try and get a card for the second show up soon (New Japan Cup day 7 starts in about 4 hours so I may as well just stay awake until then and sleep after, instead of getting maybe 3 hours of sleep, waking up and falling asleep mid-match like I did with day 1 :/ )</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="franticloser" data-cite="franticloser" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37757" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>That made my night for just the Abyss The Vampire Hunter segment.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Funnily enough, Abyss was pretty much the last thing I added in. <p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:14px;">Card for CHIKARA 2: Here Be Dragons!</span></p><p> </p><p>

<em>After an action packed debut, CHIKARA is back on Sunday the 10th of June with another card which looks to be just exciting. Already rivalries are being built, and new talent is still joining the roster. June's card features lightning fast junior heavyweight action, disputes being settled between the ropes, and an international guest star. You don't want to miss it!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/N8ChiRg.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>New Jack vs Reckless Youth</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Last month both these men were on the winning side of their respective matches as New Jack found an unlikely ally in Shark Boy, while Reckless Youth took on Chris Hero as his protege. On CHIKARA's second show, however, they can only rely on themselves, as two of the less laid back men on CHIKARA's roster lock-up in what is almost certainly going to be nothing short of a war!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Trashmen (CM Punk and Duke Droese) vs The Kneeslappers (Colt Cabana and Nigel McGuinness)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In spite of (Or maybe even because of) their difference, CHIKARA's director of fun has once again decided to pair up Colt Cabana. This time, against the garbage collecting, truck driving, street cleaning duo of CM Punk and Duke Droese. It's sink or swim time - can Colt and Nigel co-exist, or will they get taken out to sit by the curb?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dragon Kid vs "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs Super Dragon</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Young up-and-comer Dragon Kid takes time out from Japan to make a special one-off appearance in CHIKARA as he faces off against two of the most aggressive and feared wrestlers on the roster. In one corner we have Bryan Danielson, a young lion with a martial arts background who, after a shock loss to Mike Quackenbush last month, is sure to have something to prove to the crowd as well as the locker room. And in the other corner we have Super Dragon, the masked machine who welcomed Kenny Omega to the present with a vicious curb stomp, and is likely to want to get the same results in his second outing in a CHIKARA ring!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Abyss vs Cheerleader Melissa</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Whether Cheerleader Melissa is a vampire is still up for speculation. What isn't up for speculation is that Abyss believes it, and he won't rest until everybody else does too! After a backstage confrontation, these two agreed to settle their dispute between the ropes!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Takako Inoue vs Chris Hero vs Claudio Castagnoli</strong></p><p> </p><p>

When Double Inoue stepped up to help protect The Good, the Bad and Not Very Ugly from a beating and unmasking at the hands of Double Feature, they probably knew that the fashion obsessed pair wouldn't simply let it slide. What they probably didn't count on was Claudio Castagnoli jumping into the ring and hitting Takako with a vicious uppercut later in the night, allowing Chris Hero to take advantage and win the match for The Outkasts. As well as getting a shot at the rudo who cost her the match, Takako gets another chance to try and defeat Chris Hero, and man who pinned her.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kyoko Inoue and Excalibur vs Christopher Daniels and The Brian Kendrick</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After Double Feature cost her and her partner Takako the main event in CHIKARA's debut show, Kyoko Inoue is looking for revenge on Christopher Daniels. But, in true CHIKARA style, both competitors have been thrown a curveball in the form of a partner (And another opponent!). Kyoko Inoue will be teaming up with one of the men she defended from Daniels, the wild western luchadore Excalibur, while Christopher Daniels will have to content with the kleptomaniac daredevil The Brian Kendrick!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mike Quackenbush and Kenny Omega vs The Prototypes (CenaBot Mk 2 and SamoaJoeBot Mk 1)</strong> w/ Dr James Mitchell</p><p> </p><p>

A crossed wire or two may have cost Dr James Mitchell's machines their match at CHIKARA's last show, but this time he's bringing in the new and improved CenaBot Mk 2! Battling the mad scientists robotic grapplers are the team of Kenny Omega, who will be aiming to record his first win after travelling back in time only to be beaten by Super Dragon, and Mike Quackenbush, who is likely to be very pleased after overcoming "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Shark Boy, T.J Perkins and Do-Rag Dulux (Amazing Red and Jack Evans) vs The 80's Express (AJ Styles and Air Paris), "Hard ball" Austin Aries and "El Único y Verdadero Rudo" Antifaz Del Norte</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Director of Fun Master P wanted to give CHIKARA fans as much high flying action as possible, so he decided to put some of the fastest, most agile, and most courageous wrestlers into one ring and watch the carnage play out. Shark Boy and T.J Perkins are coming in off of victories in tag action at CHIKARA's first show, and alongside Amazing Red and the debuting Jack Evans, they look to improve their records to 2-0. On the other side of things, however, are The 80's Express, who were unfortunate to lose to The Trashmen during a hard fought contest many were calling the match of the night. Helping them are two new arrivals who will want to get off to a good start. First they have "Hard ball" Austin Aries, a cocky young man with a pitching arm known to make batters run away crying, who has promised great things. And to cap it all off this trio is joined by Mexico's most dastardly villain, a man wanted for over a dozen stolen titles, hundreds of unfair decisions, and more low blows and eye pokes than anybody could ever count, "The Only True Rudo" Antifaz Del Norte! In a classic high flying battle, it may be trickery or teamwork which makes the decision in this one.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Bryan was still ill-tempered from the previous months loss and started off by making a variety of threats towards his opponents for the night, Dragon Kid and Super Dragon, and Colt asking about why Bryan lost to Mike Quackenbush only brought out even more anger. "First of all, how about you focus on your own loss at The Renaissance Dawns instead of mine? And second of all, Quackenbush knows he got lucky, and that if I took him seriously and even thought about locking in the cattle mutilation he's have tapped out in seconds. And let me tell you right now, Colt Cabana, that one day, I WILL make Mike Quackenbush tap out. As far as CHIKARA goes, nobody can compare to me, which is why before the show I told The Director of Fun that unless I go on in the main event, I won't wrestle. And guess what? He moved my match. With aspiring super villain Antifaz Del Norte yelling out orders in Spanish, The 80's Express and Austin Aries took turns picking apart their opponents, trying to keep their opponents off the same page for as long as possible. Unfortunately for the forces of evil it didn't last, as eventually the aerial assault of Do-Rag Dulex, the athleticism of TJP and Shark Boy's sheer guts allowed the tecnicos to fight back. The end of the match came when TJP tapped into his track and field background by performing a Fosbury Flop style suicide dive onto both members of the 80's Express as they brawled with Do-Rag Dulex and Shark Boy neutralized Antifaz Del Norte with a missile dropkick from the apron to the outside of the ring. As the referee checked on the pile of bodies outside the ring Perkins jumped back onto the apron, eyeing up the dazed Austin Aries for a springboard tornado DDT. As Perkins jumped up to the top rope, Aries suddenly snapped out of his daze, revealing that he'd been playing possum. Before T.J knew what was happening Aries tossed a baseball directly at him, clocking him in the head as he came off the ropes. T.J instantly fell down to the mat, leaving Aries enough time to kick the ball out of the ring before shouting for Bryce Remsburg's attention and covering his opponent a the crowd showed its disapproval with a shower of boos.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner: The 80's Express (AJ Styles and Air Paris), "Hard Ball" Austin Aries and "El Único y Verdadero Rudo" Antifaz Del Norte in 18:20 via pinfall after "Hard Ball" Austin Aries pinned T.J Perkins from a beanball.</strong></p><p><strong> Segment rating: D</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37757" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/Cnx1kab.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/xwde2pg.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> Mike Quackenbush and Kenny Omega took their time as they made their way out to almost universal cheers. Kenny Omega tried to climb back out of the ring, only to be grabbed onto by The Prototypes, who were seemingly in cahoots with Danielson. By the time Omega finally pulled himself free and ran off Danielson, the damage had been done. EMT's ran out and pulled Quackenbush up onto a stretcher as Quack held onto his damaged ankle, screaming in pain. Quick tags, quick thinking and quick feet made for an entertaining tag team, as Kenny and Lufisto opted to avoid turning the match into either a brawl or a mat wrestling contest. Just as things looked like they were going Kenny and LuFisto's way, disaster struck - Kenny went to the top rope to dive down onto CenaBot Mk 2, leaving himself open to SamoaJoeBoy Mk 1, who hit the time traveller with an enziguri from the apron which sent him down to the floor clutching his head. In a two-on-one situation, LuFisto dove into the ring, ready to face off with her opponents. Adrenaline running through her veins, LuFisto ducked, dove, dipped and dodged everything her opponents could throw at her, even low bridging CenaBot Mk 2 out of the ring to the floor. LuFisto watched her opponent fall to the floor before letting out an alien battle cry, signalling the end. She turned to face SamoaJoeBot Mk 1, who unleashed a flurry and slaps to LuFisto's face. The little alien super hero responded by pumping her fists and stomping her feet, powering through the pain to LuFisto up! After over a dozen slaps LuFisto ducked and started fighting back with a vicious combo of kicks, slaps, forearms and chops that pushed SamoaJoeBot to the ropes. LuFisto then whipped her opponent and on the rebound put him down with a momentum assisted northern lights suplex. After the opening few minutes of back and forth action, Kyoko Inoue found herself trapped on the apron, watching as Daniels and Kendrick worked over Excalibur, not letting him even roll out of the ring to make a tag. Seemingly the closest Excalibur could come to offence was countering a hurricanrana by Kendrick into a powerbomb, seconds after which Daniels laid him out with a reverse STO. Despite the punishment, however, Excalibur kept kicking out, much to the anger of Danielson. After over seventeen minutes of action Kendrick grabbed Excalibur and attempted to finish the lucha gun slinger with Sliced Bread #2 but was slammed down out of the air, giving Excalibur the opening he needed. Dodging a clothesline from Daniels, Excalibur dove across the ring and tagged in Kyoko, who wasted no time in charging into the ring and laying out both her opponents. Faced with an angry and fresh opponent, Daniels opted to roll out of the ring after being beaten down to the mat, leaving Kendrick to receive a beating that ended with a Niagra Driver which left him unable to kick out.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners: Kyoko Inoue and Excalibur in 18:25 via pinfall after Kyoko Inoue pinned The Brian Kendrick from a Niagra Driver</strong></p><p><strong> Kyoko Inoue and Excalibur now have one point of the three needed for a Campeonatos de Parejas title shot</strong></p><p><strong> Segment rating: D</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37757" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/xwde2pg.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/ckoDbuJ.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> Backstage Colt Cabana talked to Kenny Omega, chiefly about his past, and his new tag team partner. Consistently she hounded the Swiss supermodel, even at one point tossing Hero out of the ring to attack Claudio. To his credit, Claudio did not simply sit back and take a beating, and in fact he often went on the offence against Takako, including knocking her off the ring apron with one of his signature uppercuts. Hero, too, revelled in the physicality of the match, unleashing elbows and slams thick and fast. With all three competitors going all out, it was destined to be a sprint more than a marathon, and sure enough at just past the ten minute mark Claudio hoisted Hero up and planted him with the The Catwalk Collision. Just before making the cover, however, Claudio was hit with a hard spinning backfist to the jaw. Wisely, Claudio stumbled to the ropes, holding on for dear life as he tried to regain his senses. By the time he could see clearly again, Bryce Remsburg was raising Takako Inoue's hand. New Jack's break came late in the match when Hero jumped onto the apron, trying to distract New Jack so Reckless Youth could hit a clothesline. Just before impact, however, New Jack ducked, causing Reckless Youth to hit Hero and go over the top rope. With both his opponents on the floor New Jack ascended to the turnbuckle and took to the skies, laying out both his opponents with a suicide dive. The momentum not in his favour, New Jack went to work on Reckless Youth. On the other hand, Punk and Droese continued to prove themselves to be a formidable team. Unlike the previous month Nigel didn't walk out, but short of that there was little else he could have done to be less cooperative. He and Colt argued throughout the match, often times leaving themselves open to an attack from their opponents. At long last things truly melted down as Nigel blind tagged himself in and charged CM Punk, trying to take advantage of the element of surprise. Unfortunately, Punk wasn't the only one caught by surprise. As Nigel tried to push past Colt to get to Punk, Colt instinctively swung an elbow back at Nigel. Nigel stumbled back a few steps to the ropes before falling out of the ring, possibly out cold. The two rudos natives proceeded to trade strikes, laying into each other with everything they had in their tank until Dragon Kid returned to the match by diving off the turnbuckle and taking both men out. Although the smallest man in the match, Dragon Kid found himself with a target on his back as it became clear his speed would cause problems for the other dragons if left unchecked. The rudos teamed up, going after Kid's legs with kicks, submissions and anything else they could think of, before tossing him down into the corner to fight amongst themselves. Just when it seemed like Super Dragon was about to hoist Danielson up for the psycho driver Dragon Kid dove back into action, dropkicking Super Dragon in the back an causing him to stumble towards the ropes, dropping Danielson onto the apron. With Super Dragon dazed, Kid headed up top and came back down with a dragonrana into a pin. Some of these grades are surprisingly bad! Do you have Perfect Show Theory enabled? You might be better off without it, if you do. Might just be growing pains though - can't be sure with real world data!

Still right there with you in spite of the grades, though. And since in LuFi's case they were terrible that's probably just as well. :D Loved that segment and match anyway - and if 'Space Jam 2' is an actual honest-to-goodness storyline then that's epic. Keep 'em coming, dude!

For the segments most of them are based on pop, and for matches it's 50/50 pop skill, which is a large part of why the grades are weak. Part of the problem is that I have momentum on, so those F segments lower momentum (Or, more precisely, nuke it from orbit) and cause hits to the matches.</p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:14px;">Card for CHIKARA 3: Crisis On Infinite Tag Ropes</span></p><p> </p><p>

<em>With multiple teams having earned a point, and The Trashmen now on two, it looks like only a matter of time before we see our first Campeonatos de Parejas crowned! Accordingly, many of CHIKARA's premier teams are being put through the ringer, facing off against each other in a bid to earn some coveted points, or knock a rival down off the leader board as CHIKARA returns on Tuesday the 10th of July! Not only that, but we have a face-off between rivals, the fall-out from Nigel McGuinness's post match slap on Colt Cabana, most information about the mysterious super hero and warrior Princess LuFisto, and action from all of CHIKARA's top stars!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/N8ChiRg.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Trashmen (CM Punk and Duke Droese) vs Double Feature (Christopher Daniels and Claudio Castagnoli)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Trashmen may not be renown for being adept fighters, but the duo of CM Punk and Duke Droese certainly shoved aside any conceived notions when they scored two straight wins in tag competition. Similarly, you'd be hard pressed to find many who think "ruthless villains" when you say "fashion designer and his model", but Christopher Daniels and Claudio Castagnoli have done nothing if not prove themselves to be egotistical, sneaky, and most of all immoral in CHIKARA's past two events. These two teams will clash, both hoping to score an all important point!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush vs "El Único y Verdadero Rudo" Antifaz Del Norte</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Very little is known about Antifaz Del Norte, except for the fact that he's one hell of a rudo. on the other hand, Mike Quackenbush may very well be as clean cut as they come. Will Quackenbush's catch and mat wrestling skills overcome the cheating ways of The One True Rudo? We'll soon find out!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Takako Inoue vs The Brian Kendrick</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Having dealt with Double Feature, both Takako and Kyoko Inoue will be looking to the future, namely a chance at the Campeonatos de Parejas. But first Takako will have to knock off The Brian Kendrick, a young kleptomaniac who seems to care more about ownership of a copy of Space Jam 2 than he does wrestling! Where ever his focus lies, Kendrick will need his A game if he hopes to go toe-to-toe with the vicious joshi wrestler!</p><p> </p><p>

Ahead of their meeting in the co-main event, T.J Perkins and Austin Aries will face off under the watchful of The Director of Fun, Master P!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The 80's Express (Air Paris and AJ Styles) vs Street Sharks (New Jack and Shark Boy)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Although not involved in the finish, The 80's Express will definitely be coming into this one with a spring in their step after they defeated a four man tecnicos team which included Shark Boy at last months event. But will their confidence be enough to overcome the friendship of Shark Boy and New Jack?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Prototypes (CenaBot Mk2 and SamoaJoeBot Mk2</strong> W/ Dr James Mitchell <strong> and "Hard Ball" Austin Aries vs The Sci-Fi Smackdown (Kenny Omega and Princess LuFisto) and T.J Perkins</strong></p><p> </p><p>

With his tag team partner for the night, Mike Quackenbush, being brutally attacked by Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega found himself unable to help thanks to The Prototypes, who appeared to be in cahoots with "The American Dragon". With the aid of the alien super hero Princess LuFisto, Kenny managed to avenge his fallen partner. Not one to loose fairly and let it be, Dr James Mitchell is back with an upgraded SamoaJoeBot and rookie Austin Aries, ready to take revenge in six man action. With the man who beaned him with a baseball last month in action, T.J Perkins leapt at the chance to even the odds, and has no aligned himself with the Sci-Fi Smackdown for what will definitely be a high speed, high impact match!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Do-Rag Dulux (Amazing Red and Jack Evans) vs The Outkasts (Chris Hero and Reckless Youth)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Having both suffered loses at CHIKARA 2, The Outkasts should be out in full-force looking for blood. Do-Rag Dulux, similarly, will have their mind set on victory, thanks to neither man having scored a win so far in CHIKARA.</p><p> </p><p>

Kenny Omega meets up with CHIKARA medical personal Lucy Goulet to try and learn more about Princess LuFisto.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Cheerleader Melissa and Colt Cabana vs "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Fresh off of a win over Abyss, the man who thought she was an evil vampire, Cheerleader Melissa will want nothing more than to continue her winning ways, alongside CHIKARA's premier interview man Colt Cabana. Across from them are two of the most skilled all-around wrestlers in the world right now - Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness. After the duos loss last month, McGuinness laid a slap across Cabana's face, so these two will be foaming at the lips to lay into each other!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Abyss and Super Dragon vs The Good, The Bad and Not At All Ugly (Blitzkreig and Excalibur)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

While Blitzkreig took the show off, Excalibur teamed up with Kyoko Inoue to score a win over the formidable team of Christopher Daniels and The Brian Kendrick. With luck on his side, the wild west lucha and his compadre are set to face off with two of the meanest rudos in CHIKARA. With everything to prove, both teams will be going all out and looking to start the show off with a bang!</p></div><p></p><p></p>

The hard hitting duo of Abyss and Super Dragon controlled most of this match, keeping the wild west luchas grounded with their combination of hard hitting strikes and deadly looking slams. Every so often one of the cowboys would break through with a hot tag or a highlight reel worthy aerial move, but each and every time the rudos would quickly regain control. After a vicious curb stomp, Super Dragon pinned Blitzkreig for the win.

Backstage, Chris Hero and Reckless Youth cut a promo addressing both their opponents for the night, Jack Evans and Amazing Red, and the team of Shark Boy and New Jack, who humiliated them at the previous event. "You two wannabe rappers are about to meet two pissed off rudos, who're gearing up to put you punks down," Reckless Youth yells. "Me and Chris, we're a two man doomsday, here to cut a bloody swath through CHIKARA, and two do-rag wearing tecnicos aren't going to stop us!"

"A two man doomsday," Chris laughs. "So if you two think you're going to get into the ring like Superman, you've clearly not read issue seventy-five, volume two of Superman, see-"

"Chris," Reckless Youth drags his partner out of camera shot and angrily mutters something about how Chris needs to stop talking about comic books when they're trying to be 'scary'. A few seconds later the two walk back into shot. "As Chris was saying, the two of us will destroy anybody in our path, starting with our opponents tonight, and including fish brains and that glorified base jumper New Jack! You don't mess with The Outkasts, Jack, because we don't forget things like that!"

Cheerleader Melissa and Colt Cabana vs "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness

Both Nigel and Danielson received nothing less than booes and jeers for the entire match thanks to their attacks on Colt Cabana and Mike Quackenbush respectively. Despite the level of noise the crowd made, both rudos didn't seem off their game one bit, as they put their technical wrestling skills on full display, isolating Melissa and working over her arm to set up for Nigel's patented London Dungeon arm lock. Colt looked stranded on the apron for most of the match, but at every chance tried to get the crowd behind Melissa. The break came when Melissa ducked under one of dragon's kicks and swept out his leg, leaving them both down and giving her time to crawl over and tag Colt in.

Not wasting a second, Colt came in like a house on fire, taking out both rudos with a series of clotheslines and shoulder blocks before going to work on Danielson. Colt dragged Danielson back to the tecnico corner, from where he and Melissa worked over Danielson. Soon, the crowd began chanting for Colt to go after Nigel, who aside from a few clotheslines hadn't had any contact with Colt yet. Always one to please the crowd, Colt tossed Danielson over the top rope, making Nigel the legal man. Cockily, Nigel climbed into the ring and offered his back to Colt, almost as if to tell the tecnico that he was confident enough he could out wrestle him that he'd start with a handicap. Colt replied by taking Nigel down and turning the match in a catch wrestling display.

Despite Nigel's certainty that he could beat his opponent on the mat, Colt surprised everyone (Possibly including himself) by going hold for hold with Nigel, remaining in control for several minutes. At one point Colt even managed to lock Nigel's arms behind his back, hold them there with his knees, and drum out a tune on Nigel's head like it were a bongo, much to the amusement of the crowd. Finally fed up with Colt, Nigel twisted his head around and bit into Colt's fingers, causing his opponent to jump up. Not wanting to suffer any more humiliation, Nigel laid an open palm slap into Colt's face then locked in a guillotine choke, latching his legs onto Colt as hard as possible. Although unable to see, Colt's knowledge of the ring and constant awareness guided him as he crawled towards the corner. He reached his hand out to Cheerleader Melissa looking for a tag...

With Colt's hand inches away, the rabid monster hunter Abyss charged through the crowd and pulled Melissa off the apron! Colt carried on going, looking for the ropes, as The American Dragon climbed in to assist his partner. Just as Danielson got close to the action...

With a bandage on his ankle and a chair in his hands Mike Quackenbush rolled into the ring, cutting off Danielson! As the two stared each other down, Bryce Remsburg wisely called for the bell.

Winners: Match ruled a no contest after interference by Abyss and "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush at 11:46

Despite how loudly the ball rang, none of the six wrestlers seemed to care. Abyss and Melissa continued fighting through the crowd, causing audience members to run from the battle, Nigel kept the choke locked on to Colt despite the tecnico grasping the rope in his hand, and Mike Quackenbush gained some level of retribution for what Danielson did to him the previous month by slamming the chair into his chest. Danielson dropped to his knees and low blowed Quackenbush, causing him to drop the chair and letting The American Dragon bull rush him. The two fell out of the ring while trading blows, but were quickly split up by security. Inside the ring, Remsburg dove onto Nigel, dragging him off of the barely conscious Colt. As he laid on the mat gasping for air, Colt pointed to himself, then back at Nigel, as if making a challenge. Nigel simply responded by nodding and smirking as he left the ring, clearly happy with his work.

Kenny Omega and Lucy Goulet are sat backstage, talking about Princess LuFisto. Lucy explains that Princess LuFisto is from a planet called Xorgon 6. When LuFisto was still a teenager the planet was attacked by a stable of rudos, vying to take over the planet through in-ring combat. Eventually, after a long war, LuFist's father lost a wrestling match for ownership of the planet to the most evil rudo the universe has ever known, Zergon. Knowing the planet was doomed, LuFisto's parents sent her to earth after implanting her with fake memories so that she would never know her true origin, and so would never be hunted for by Zelgon. Eventually LuFisto's super powered brain broke through the false memories, allowing her to remember almost all of her early life. Deciding to use her alien powers for good, LuFisto set about joining Earth's wrestling companies, hoping to ensure that her new home would not fall victim to rudos like her old home. Kenny thanked Lucy, before telling her that if she sees LuFisto, she should make sure she's ready for their match later on in the night.

In a fairly short match, The Outkasts showed that they're not a team to be taken lightly. The pair almost seemed to be toying with their much smaller opponents, stretching them out and locking in various holds. Late into proceedings it looked like the duos cockiness could cost them the match as Jack Evans came in off the hot tag, but when Evans went for a springboard dropkick on Reckless Youth he paid for it thanks to Hero running in and knocking him out of the air with a cerebral cortex rolling elbow. Evans went down like a ragdoll, allowing Hero to cover him for the three.

The Prototypes (CenaBot Mk2 and SamoaJoeBot Mk2) W/ Dr James Mitchell and "Hard Ball" Austin Aries vs The Sci-Fi Smackdown (Kenny Omega and Princess LuFisto) and T.J Perkins

All three tecnicos had reason to hate their rudos opponents - TJP took a bean ball to the head the previous month thanks to Austin Aries, Kenny Omega was unable to help Mike Quackenbush when he was being attacked because The Prototypes held him back, and LuFisto? Well, Princess LuFisto isn't a huge fan of rudos! So it was no surprise that this match was as stiff and as hard hitting as they come. Despite all three being smaller than their opponents, the tecnicos didn't shy away from contact one bit, and in some cases even instigated strike exchanges. Using tenacity, agility and guts, the tecnicos refused to let the rudos overpower them. Even when the rudos tried to regroup, they found themselves falling to a trio of tope suicidas, much to the delight of the crowd. It all seemed to be going the tecnicos way until...

The Brian Kendrick appeared at the top of the entrance ramp, clutching a bag in his hands and smirking at Kenny. Immediately Kenny dove out of the ring and onto Kendrick, who's need to show off may have cost him his big score as Kenny pulled the bag out of his hands. The scuffle distracted TJP, however, and he was easily rolled up with a handful of tights by Aries.

Winner: The Prototypes (CenaBot Mk2 and SamoaJoeBot Mk2) and "Hard Ball" Austin Aries in 12:20 via pinfall after "Hard Ball" Austin Aries rolled up T.J Perkins using a handful of tights while Perkins was distracted by The Brian Kendrick and Kenny Omega

Segment rating: E+

Despite the bell ringing, Kenny and Kendrick carried on fighting, neither man willing to give up the bag. At long last Kenny ripped it out of Kendrick's hands and opened it, only to discover the bag was empty! Both men looked down, seeing the Space Jam 2 DVD case laid on the ground. They dove for it, causing a clash of heads that hurt both men adn quickly brought out the EMTs (Including Lucy Goulet, who's close friend Princess LuFisto had mysteriously disappeared from the ring during the post-match brawl). Referee Bryce Remsburg hastily picked up the DVD, ensuring that nobody could claim ownership of it, as Kenny yelled at him to keep it safe.

The 80's Express (Air Paris and AJ Styles) vs Street Sharks (New Jack and Shark Boy)

http://i.imgur.com/D8YyOSE.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/RDGs3c1.jpgvshttp://i.imgur.com/TlTvquu.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/vDv10y5.jpg

Clearly more on the same page than their first time teaming, Shark Boy and New Jack worked like a well oiled machine, keeping one step ahead of their much faster opponents thanks to constantly being in the right place at the right time. When New Jack was brawling outside and found himself in a two-on-one situation, Shark Boy came barrelling off the apron with a senton. Or when Shark Boy was down in position for AJ to hit the spiral tap, New Jack kicked the ropes to knock the rudo off balance and give Shark Boy enough time to escape. The 80's Express put up a good fight, but eventually the Street Sharks put them away with a doomsday device style elevated neckbreaker on AJ which many in the crowd quickly dubbed the surf'n'turf.

Backstage, T.J Perkins and "Hard Ball" Austin Aries are having a heated argument, mediated by Director of Fun Master P.

"I've beaten you TWICE now!" Aries gloated to TJP, who shook his head angrily.

"By cheating."

"A win's a win, buddy."

"Yeah? Then why won't you face me one on one?"

"Why would I waste my time on you? I've already proved I'm the best dual sports athlete in CHIKARA, despite what you and your other track and field nerd friends think".

This last comment prompts TJP to shove Aries, who shoves him back. "Hey, HEY!", Master P holds the two apart. "I won't have any of this, not while I'm still Director of Fun! If you two can't settle this with words, you'll do it like men - at the next CHIKARA event the two of you'll face off. One fall to the finish, no excuses. Sound found?"

The two athletes nod without taking their eyes off of each other.

Takako Inoue w/ Kyko Inoue vs The Brian Kendrick

http://i.imgur.com/iniVqkR.jpgw/http://i.imgur.com/8O9YuUf.jpgvshttp://i.imgur.com/1fmGdLQ.jpg

For most of the match Kendrick was more concerned with Bryce Remsburg than Takako Inoue as he repeatedly stopped wrestling to beg for the copy of Space Jam 2, a request Remsburg repeatedly denied. Takako, on the other hand, was not distracted, and instead honed in on Kendrick like a shark. With Kendrick being both distracted and still hurt from his confrontation with Kenny Omega earlier, he was easy pickings for the tough joshi, who put him away with no trouble.

Winner: Takako Inoue in 10:20 via pinfall after a beauty fist

Segment rating: D+

With the match over, Takako rested in the corner as Kyoko started to climb into the ring. Just as she got onto the apron, however...

http://i.imgur.com/tXPkt25.jpg

One half of Double Feature, Christopher Daniels, ran in from the entrance ramp holding a wooden clothes horse. He swiftly smashed it over Kyoko's head before running away with his tail between his legs as the crowd booed loudly. Takako checked on her sister while yelling after Daniels, who quickly exited through a fire escape, not wanting to go one on one with Takako.

[center]"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush vs "El Único y Verdadero Rudo" Antifaz Del Norte

http://i.imgur.com/Cnx1kab.jpgvshttp://i.imgur.com/En4HaWg.jpg

While everybody in the crowd knew Antifaz was a rudo, very few knew the extent he would go to with his cheating. Bryce Remsburg earned his pay check in this match as he tried as hard as he could to stop Antifaz's repeated low blows, eye pokes, and other cheating tactics from giving him the win. In sharp contrast to his opponent, Quackenbush tried to keep the match as technical and clean as possible, working his way through his arsenal of holds. Late into the match Antifaz low blowed Quackenbush while Remsburg wasn't looking and tried to schoolboy Quackenbush, who quickly countered it into an inverted cross armbreaker. With nowhere to go, Antifaz was forced to tap out.

Winner:Mike Quackenbush in 10:34 via submission from an inverted cross armbreaker

Segment rating: D-

Clearly weary of the fact that multiple matches had already ended with run-ins or post match attacks, Quackenbush allowed himself to regain his breath before leaving the ring. His caution was confirmed to have been warranted when...

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson made his way out from behind the curtain to a shower of boos. The two stared each other down, neither man making a move. After a few seconds something clicked in Quacks head. He heard the crowd explode, but his reactions simply weren't fast enough as he found himself being hoisted up and planted with a spinout powerbomb from behind!

http://i.imgur.com/xpe1nm5.jpg

The two dragons paced around Quack, seemingly pleased with themselves. The tecnico tried to get up, but for his troubles received a hard boo to the head from Danielson. After soaking up the crowds boos for a while, Danielson gave an order to Super Dragon. The faceless terminator grabbed Quackenbush by his arms and positioned him for a curb stomp. Just before Super Dragon slammed Quacks face into the mat, Danielson unleashed a flurry of kicks to Quack's face. The crowd booed loudly as Super Dragon finished off the brutal assault with a curb stomp, seemingly knocking Quackenbush out cold. Whether the attack was revenge for Quackenbush's action earlier in the night or simply Danielson still being upset over his loss to Quack, it had quickly become clear that "The American Dragon" had found a new ally, and the two of them were willing to go to great lengths to hurt any tecnico stood in their path.

Seeing the two rudos surrounding his tag partner, New Jack quickly grabs a chair propped up against the wall and starts walking towards them. "It looks like you two fine gentleman are stopping my good friend Shark Boy here from bringing our pizza into our locker room. You know what happened to the last guy who tried to deprive New Jack of pizza?"

"What?" Reckless Youth spits at New Jack, who threateningly bangs the chair on the floor.

"Let's just say that he's not eating his food from a piza box anymore, he's eating it through a straw."

Reckless Youth laughs and shoves Shark Boy past Hero towards New Jack. "Take your damn pizza, we don't want it anyway. Come on, Chris." Reckless Youth beckons his partner, who follows him down the hallway way from Jack and Shark Boy.

"Did you ask him?" New Jack asks Shark Boy, who nods. "How many?" Shark Boy holds up five fingers. "Five cheeses? I love this country, Sharkie, I really do."

The Trashmen (CM Punk and Duke Droese) vs Double Feature (Christopher Daniels and Claudio Castagnoli)

http://i.imgur.com/LdVS2w2.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/thqRAN5.jpgvshttp://i.imgur.com/tXPkt25.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/hZ5bKJ5.jpg

Only one point away from gaining entry to the match to crown the first Campeonatos de Parejas, The Trasmen came out focused and on their game. But against opponents like Double Feature, simply being focused isn't enough - they needed to execute perfectly. The Trashmen tagged in and out to fit their strengths, with the more technical and agile Punk subduing Daniels, while the more hard nosed and smash mouth Droese took on Castagnoli, laying in punches which may alter the Swiss Supermodels chances at being the face of Armani's next line. The action was back and forth, as Double Feature adjusted to The Trashmen's strategy and started tagging out to get more favourable match-ups. They nearly clinched a victory after Daniels dropped Droese with a revrse STO into a koji clutch, but Dorese managed to grasp at the ropes, forcing Daniels to give up the hold. As Droese pulled himself up...

http://i.imgur.com/aSL0Ztc.jpg

SamoaJoeBot Mk2 lept onto the apron, shaking the ropes and yelling at Droese. The quick distraction allowed Daniels to catch his breath, spin Droese around and plant him with the angel's wings. Castagnoli rushed Punk to take him off the apron as Daniels fell on top of Droese, covering him for the three.

Winners: Double Feature in 20:09 via pinfall after Christopher Daniels pinned Duke Droese from an angel's wings following interference from SamoaJoeBot Mk 2

The match over, Dr James Mitchell and CenaBot Mk 2 make their way down to the ring. The rudos quickly left (Possibly to avoid the possibility of Double Inoue coming out to take revenge), allowing Mitchell and his robots some time alone with The Trashmen. Punk knelt over Droese as The Prototypes and Mitchell surrounded the pair.

"Humans are weak, my friend, and people like you are the lowest of the low. You're a pair of garbage men, and you're proud of that? In a few years, robots like mine will have taken those jobs away from humans, and you two will be obsolete. So, allow us to start phasing you out early!"

With that, CenaBot Mk2 hoisted Punk up and slammed him down with a sickening sin-out powerbomb. The crowd let the trio know how they felt about their attack, but the only reaction it got was Mitchell's grin growing even wider.

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:14px;">Card for CHIKARA 4: Cabana vs McGuinness </span></p><p> </p><p>

<em>After an ill-fated, short lived tag team, Colt Cabana and Nigel McGuinness have turned into bitter enemies. The style class of Cabana's happy-go-lucky attitude and Nigel's ultra-serious demeanour has driven these two first to words, then to a slap, and finally to a brutal brawl at CHIKARA 3 that left Cabana barely conscious. Finally, on Tuesday the 7th of August in the South Jersey Sports Academy, these two will face off in a bout that should show off some of the best wrestling in the world. Plus, action from some of CHIKARA's top tag teams, a high flying grudge match, and appearances from top stars Bryan Danielson and Mike Quackenbush!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Colt Cabana vs Nigel McGuinness</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Although the Director of Fun united these two because of their grappling skills, it seems that the one thing they most have in common is mutual hatred for each other! From the start, Nigel has outwardly detested Colt's laid back attitude to wrestling, and after slapping him at CHIKARA 2 the partnership turned into a rivalry. Not one to let a dispute go unsolved, Director of Fun Master P has ordered the pair to finish their dispute in the ring!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush vs Super Dragon</strong></p><p> </p><p>

At CHIKARA 3 the duo of "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Super Dragon ambushed and destroyed Mike Quackenbush, putting him down with a spin-out powerbomb, a series of kicks to the head and then a curb stomp. While there's no doubt that Quackenbush will want to take the fight to Danielson and get revenge for the previous months, he'll first have to go through Super Dragon!</p><p> </p><p>

At CHIKARA 3 The Prototypes ambushed The Trashmen, declaring robot supremacy. Throughout the match The American Dragon worked over Kenny's leg with stiff kicks and submission holds, occasionally tagging out to catch his breath and allow Kendrick to lock in a slow, boring submission hold, drawing the anger of the crowd as they realized that Kendrick had no intention of actually wrestling Kenny. Kenny's break eventually came when he caught one of Danielson's body kicks, threw his leg away, and blasted The American Dragon with a vicious hadouken. Soon the match broke down, with The 80's Express constantly dodging out of the ring, jumping in to get a two-on-one advantage, or outright cheating to make up for their opponents far superior wrestling skills. All eight wrestlers gave it their all for over twenty minutes, until eventually only SamoaJoeBot Mk2 and CM Punk were left standing. While gasping for breath the two traded hard slaps to the face, starting with one slow strike each and escalating into an exchange of flurries of slaps that echoed throughout the room. Despite JoeBot's advanced circuit systems and design, human spirit triumphed as Punk outslapped Joe, causing him to stumble back to the ropes. Punk followed up with a running knee strike that knocked Joe senseless and out onto the apron. From ringside James Mitchell yelled at Punk, taunting him and insulting him, drawing his attention. This gave Joe a window to jump up and lock in a rear naked choke. The robot used his enhanced strength to squeeze the life out of The Trashman, who fought his way to the ropes. As Bryce Remsburg reached the count of four, JoeBot turned the move into a sleeper suplex, tossing Punk onto the back of his head. Realizing that Dragon had no intention of letting the fight become anything beyond a brawl, Quackenbush went to work using his opponents over aggression to his advantage. Every time Dragon threw out a limb and didn't connect with Quackenbush, the technical expert lived up to his nickname and quickly grabbed the limb, either locking in a hold or taking Dragon down. Once on the mat, Quack was able to control things, blasting away at Dragon with knee strikes, putting him in submissions, and sometimes even just transitioning from position to potion to keep his opponent on his toes. After a while this tactic got results, as a frustrated Dragon began to take risks he didn't need to, such as throwing out strikes and getting caught in a submission, or trying to get away and giving up his back. </p><p> </p><p> Quackenbush's problem quickly became that he was wrestling a wild animal who was seemingly unfazed by anything thrown at him, shrugging off knees to the ribs and barely reacting to being trapped in a kimura lock. Late in the match Dragon even managed to clip Quackenbush with a series of hard elbows, dazing him to the point that Dragon was able to escape. Instead of taking it back to the ground, Quackenbush seemed to realize that he needed something big to finish Dragon, and he wouldn't be able to use whatever he had in mind on the ground. This turned out to be a big risk, as Dragon came at him full force, even managing to eject Quackenbush from the ring and baseball slide him into the front row. Quack's chance eventually came in the form of ducking a lariat, grabbing Dragon, lifting him, and then planting him down with an uncharacteristic tombstone piledriver, causing the fans to explode. Quack draped himself over Dragon, but even a tombstone piledriver seemingly couldn't finish Dragon! Never one to admit defeat, Quackenbush lifted up Super Dragon to his feet and put him back down again with a Quackendriver, which finally allowed him to pin Dragon for the three.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:Mike Quackenbush in 18:34 via pinfall after a Quackendriver</strong></p><p><strong> Segment rating: D-</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37757" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/Cnx1kab.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/xpe1nm5.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> The match over with, the two wrestlers slowly rose to their feet. The two grappled on their feet, on the ropes, and on the mat, and time and time again Cabana proved that, despite his light-hearted antics, he could match Nigel move for move and hold for hold. This slowly aggravated Nigel, eventually causing him to throw the first strikes of the match, a trio of closed fists in the clinch. With Colt staggered, Nigel planted him with a flowing snap DDT, garnering a two count. Nigel quickly rolled outside, trying to gather himself. As Bryce Remsburg reached eighteen Nigel rolled back into the ring, and immediately threw a kick directly to Cabana's ribs, causing his opponent to crumble down to the ground. As Nigel walked over he was swiftly taken down by Cabana, who revealed a Cheshire grin which sent Nigel into a furious fit of rage, flailing his fists at Cabana from the bottom. Cabana stood up and beckoned for Nigel to clinch with him, an offer that the Englishman refused, once again rolling out of the ring, seemingly finally having realized that Cabana was in fact capable of beating him from a purely technical standpoint.</p><p> </p><p> At around the fifteen count Cabana got tired of waiting and rolled out, trying to go after Nigel, who rolled back into the ring and slid out the other side, followed by Cabana. Nigel started to run away, but as Cabana rounded the ring post trying to catch him he turned back and booted him in the head, smashing his skull into the post before shoving him back into the ring. Having already hit the snap DDT, Nigel seemed certain that this would give him the ring, but once again he could only pull out a two. An enraged Nigel again went to work with kicks, aiming for Cabana's head and keeping him on the defensive. Still in a daze, Cabana could only lazily try for takedowns, leaving himself open to a series of knees and a hammerlock STO, which again gave Nigel a two-count. This proved to be a blessing in disguise, as Colt managed to hold onto Nigel as he pulled away from the pin and sweep him onto his back, giving him back the ground control he worked so hard for earlier in the match. After almost a minute of working from position, Cabana brought Nigel back up in a double underhook, allowing him to flip him up into the Colt .45. Cabana fell onto Nigel, ensuring to hook both legs, and finally silenced Nigel by decisively defeating him.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner: Colt Cabana in 15:21 via pinfall after a Colt .45</strong></p><p><strong> Segment rating: E+</strong></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37757" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/KhHg1Z5.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/bdab2Oa.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/Cnx1kab.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> A video plays, showing footage from just after the eight wrestler brawl earlier. <em>- The obvious news coming out of last weeks CHIKARA 4 are some of he matches planned for CHIKARA 5, namely a five vs five elimination tag. With so many of CHIKARA's top wrestlers in one match, The Director of Fun Master P has decided that it'd be unfair to not give fans travelling in for the event the chance to see all of these wrestlers wrestle less crowded matches where they will get more in-ring time. Because of this, the current plan is for CHIKARA 5 to take place on the tenth of September and CHIKARA 6 to take place the following day on the eleventh. These two events will signal the end of CHIKARA's first volume, at which point the company will take a month off, and the first six events will be sold in one collection, packaged with bonus content such as commentary from Colt Cabana, a who's who of the CHIKARA officials, and Super Dragon showing us all a tasty lemon cake recipe while beating the snot out of various sous-chefs!</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

- CHIKARA recently sent out a number of offers to other wrestling companies about the possibility of a working agreement, an offer which the majority accepted. Major companies who accepted CHIKARA's offer include Pro Wrestling NOAH, Combat Zone Wrestling, All-Japan Pro Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Asistencia Asesoría y Administración, and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. Whether the wrestlers from these promotions come into CHIKARA as friends or enemies of the promotion, however, remains to be seen.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

- CHIKARA have made three new signings since CHIKARA 4: New Japan Pro Wrestling's young lion Hiroshi Tanahashi, the beautiful Dawn Marie, and former ECW manager, referee, and all around annoyance, Bill Alfonso! CHIKARA welcomes all three to the company, and wishes them a pleasant stay!</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

- Tomorrows field trip to the New Jersey State Aquarium has been cancelled. It appears that The Street Sharks went ahead a day early to beat the crowds and put the company in a rather bad light, as one team member reportedly attempted to climb into a tank to "say hello to the kid who used to live down the street", and the other is said to have dove head first through the gift shop window while loudly blaring gangsta rap on a boombox. CHIKARA was not informed of which team member committed which act, and so will be unable to fairly punish either Shark Boy or New Jack.</em></p>

A quick question anybody reading this about tournaments: Would it be too early to run a King of Trios or Young Lions Cup tournament, or something similar? I think it could fit nicely between volumes 1 and 2 or halfway through volume 2, but I'm not sure if it'd be considered a break from the regular shows too quickly.

But first, we need a stipulation. And what better way to decide the stipulation than through an epic five on five elimination match? Amongst other things, Nigel claimed that Colt Cabana only managed to beat him because he emulated the British style of mat wrestling, and any wrestler who attempted to take him on with a "foreign" wrestling style would lose in minutes. Enter Negro Casas - an internationally acclaimed lucha wrestler with twenty-two years of experience, numerous titles under his belt, and a reputation for being one of the best wrestlers in the world.
