The thing about wrestling, as with life, is that in the end it's all down to fate. Of course we can influence fate, with our thoughts, and our choices, and our actions, but there are things in life you just can't control. It's just funny how fickle fate can be.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome TMI, the place that tells you more than you need to know about the world of TV, Films, Music and Celebrities.

As usual, I'm Kip Connaughton, and I'm here to bring you exclusive breaking news. Hollywood heartthrob Darren Haynes, known to us for his appearances in films such as "Levity", "The Heroic Mr. H" and most recently, risque crime thriller "Cuffed", is confounding expectations again. His latest project, announced in a press conference just moments ago, is not a film at all, but a foray in to the wrestling industry.

But where we know him for fighting crime, he'll at least be leaving the fighting to other people this time. This project, called Intense Combat Eruption, will begin in a matter of weeks. We have to wonder, does Darren really know what he's doing? Or is this just a reaction to the tragic accident involving his twin brother. Karl Haynes had spent two years slowly making his way through the independent wrestling scene, before a freak incident causing impact to his spine left him paralyzed from the neck down. That was a year ago now, almost to the day. Is this why Darren is getting involved in the industry his brother now can't be a part of? Who knows?

Only time will tell, but we at TMI wish him good luck with his endeavours. Expect more information to follow as we bring it to you first.

Well TMI is a second rate channel, but at least the word is getting out there. None of the biggest carriers seem to care, I'm not quite that big a name I guess, but we're creating a bit of a buzz at least. I wish they didn't keep mentioning my brother, but it's to be expected. I don't want ICE to be about me, or about him, but about the entertainment and industry that he loves.

The truth is though, I'm a little frightened. I don't know what I'm doing really. I'm an entertainer, so I probably know more than most how to put on a show. But there's so much I don't know. That's why I'm so glad I have Burt.

While this is my show, he's the guy filling in the gaps. He might be more than a little crusty, but he knows his stuff. He's heading up the backstage area, acting as a road agent, as well as assisting me in the hiring and firing. He's got a very old school idea of what wrestling should be, and is a hard headed traditionalist, so we've clashed a few times already. But I've made a few compromises. I might not be entirely happy about them, but those are the breaks I guess.

As for me, I'm going to start off on the announcers desk, and hopefully use my hollywood reputation to sprinkle a bit of stardust on proceedings. Help make a name for some people, while making a name for ICE. The media splash has done a decent job of that anyway. While there's no way we could compete with the big three, it's funny how one big mainstream name is enough to kickstart a federation. We're probably as well known as PSW, and haven't even put on a show yet! And I'm rich enough to cover the costs of getting this thing going, but that doesn't mean I'll pay inflated wages to anyone I can hire. I guess that's the most important thing right now, finalizing the roster. Who are going to be the faces of ICE?

The Pitch:

Hey everyone, DZen here, with a debut diary. Have read a lot of other diaries to get a feel for how things are done. Have done a lot of writing elsewhere in the past, but never anything quite like this, so bare with me while I get my bearings.

Basically ICE is a custom fed, in the default 2014 C-Verse. Created with Regional popularity (decent number in its home region, and a smaller spread elsewhere), and a few million in the bank. The other additions are three characters. Darren Haynes, the user avatar, owner, chief booker and interim announcer for ICE. Good stats across the board for entertainment stuff, and popularity in the low 60s, to try to match his profile. Burt Hartram, a retired brawler turned Road Agent, at a similar level to Eric Tyler. The third... will remain unnamed for a while.

Pop > Performance, regional restrictions off, integrated roster.

All very standard stuff, but from the get go, I want to encourage participation, so want to do something a little bit different, and leave parts of the show in the hands of...

Ok, so here's how this fate thing works. Basically I put forward a question to all the readers out there, in some aspect of the show. Most of the time there will be a few options available, each in some way influencing how the show progresses. Sometimes it will be an open question, sometimes it will be a simple one or the other coin flip.

For example, I may ask who readers want involved in a title match. Three people say person 1, two say person 2, and one says person 3. So I'll roll a 1D6, one to three it will be person 1, four or five it will be person 2, and six it will be person 3. So popular opinion will influence the likelyhood of the result, but there will still be something left up to fate too.

Sometimes you'll also get a chance to take options away. Say I ask the same question, but put forward four names myself. If you don't like one of the people involved, you can perhaps choose to remove them. Basically, I'll be trying to vary these things a lot, to make them interesting.

I'm going to start off big before my first show, crank up some hype and interest for it perhaps. As you can see above, I have 16 wrestlers in my roster right now. I want to add another 10 to that, and would like to get your input on who to add. Have done up a starting shortlist, so if this bombs, and no-one contributes, I'll still have some to put to fate to sign up and round off my roster. Each poster can suggest two more people to put to that list, or can add one and take one of mine away (tried to make it a mix of somewhat predictable names, and some less obvious choices). Now just have to cross my fingers, and hope this works out!

Interesting changes so far, thanks for getting involved guys

I'll leave this open till Sunday for anyone else who wants to make additions/changes to the list before I roll for fate and see who will be completing the roster. My goal is to have shows once a week while I get used to the format, and then see from there whether that's sustainable.

ICE Presents: Intense Combat Eruption. (Episode 1)

Good evening everyone, this is the card for my first show. For now I'll be putting name changes in brackets, so no-one is confused about who is who. Once I'm in the swing of it, I'll take them out (most are pretty obvious anyway).
