WWE 2014: Changing of the Guard

It’s the night after WrestleMania 30 and the dust has yet to settle after the biggest show of the year. We saw a new champion, the end of an era, scores settled and the beginning of a new age. The future is in the hands of the young guns as they set to ascend Titan Tower and take over the reigns from the old guard,

Trying to push through the ranks include: The Shield, Big E, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro and Ryback but at the top of the pile is the newly crowned WWE Champion; Daniel Bryan who beat out three of the biggest dogs in the pack in one night.

But can any of these men push on to bigger and better things and gain the gold? Or will the Guardians of the gate stay on their pedestal and continue to reign supreme over the WWE Universe?

This diary will follow the WWE post-WrestleMania XXX…

WWE Raw starts when a song blasts throughout the arena, the fans go wild but it is short lived as the Flight of the Valkyries is shut off, fans stand in bewilderment. But soon after a live feed streams into the darkened arena and it’s the Champ himself standing in the production office. Bryan’s talking to the production team saying he is the champion and wants a change of music before turning to the camera and says “Times are Changing!”. The lights go off as does the video and a second later a new song sounds throughout the arena and the crowd goes wild!!

The smarter fans in the crowd begin singing the song along to the music and eventually the rest begin, the first show of the new era has begun!

Once the song gets to halfway through the Champion enters the arena to a monumental pop. He walks towards the ring to a deafening YES! Chamt and no one in the arena is still seated, the champ is here!

Daniel Bryan takes to the microphone and begins talking about his story from high school gym to the Grandest stage in sports entertainment: WrestleMania!

But he doesn't make it through his speech before he is interrupted by another familiar theme song but it is not the Game, nor Randy Orton or Batistas but the combined force of all three men and the crowd turn hostile towards the return of…

EVOLUTION!!!

All three men saunter down to the ring as equals but when they enter the ring expecting Bryan to back down they are stunned when he walks towards them and stares straight into the face of each man one by one. They exchange heated words about how the night before had unfolded, but all three of Evolution told Bryan they were ready to take on the challenge of winning back the WWE World Championship.

As the crowd thinks the segment is about to end the lights go to a darkened red,white and blue and then another theme song blasts through the arena however the crowd really are unsure of who it belongs to and the a hummed whispering begins around the arena as fans contemplate who could arrive in the arena next.

LIGHTS OUT!

The crowd begins to flash with cell phones taking photos until the full song starts playing and from nowhere a solemn spotlight focuses on a section of elevated platform in the crowd and someone is raising from the ground…

The ARRIVAL OF KURT ANGLE!!!

Kurt Angle outline is shadowed across a section of the crowd and he begins telling the four men in the ring that he is back where he belongs and is ready to claim his title back! He said he will beat anyone it takes to get him to the dance one last time and hopes that he will be fighting Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship!

The first match of the night is a rematch from the previous night and we saw The Shield defeat Kane and the New Age Outlaws in a 3 on 3 match. The finish came when Billy Gunn had had too much of Roman Reigns beating him down and tagged in Kane before screaming at him to finish him off. Kane couldn't manage it and Roman picked up a promising win for the group,

After a commercial break we are taken to the backstage area where we see Hulk Hogan talking to a variety of Superstars about WrestleMania 3 and Andre the Giant before mentioning Antonio Cesaros big win the night previously. But as he does a young woman by the name of Paige walks up and introduces herself but as she does, Hulkster tells her he already knows who she is and that he sees big things in store for her and welcomes her to WWE Raw. Before leaving however Paige asks for a selfie with the Hall of Famer and he obliges, happily smiling for the camera.

This segment saw Cesaro continue on his winning streak after WrestleMania as he picks up the win and earns himself the Intercontinental championship and stuns Big E Langston who walks to the back with his head staring at the ground.

The next match saw The Wyatt family taking on Rey Mysterio and the smallest man with the biggest heart couldn't contend with the dominant force that are the Wyatts. Rey Mysterio was beaten down in a match that could have been handed earlier had Bray not wanted to send a message to John Cena and the WWE locker room.

In the next segment of Raw we see Paige still walking around the arena, getting to know the way things work on a bigger show has showed her willingness to learn and that she is dedicated to her craft. However as she enter the Divas make-up area, AJ Lee walks up to her and stares at her before asking her if she wants something? Paige replies that she's the newest WWE Diva but that doesn't go down well with the champ who screams at her to get out of her locker room. Paige stands firm and doesn't move, this angers Lee more who storms out leaving her Divas title belt behind. Seeing this Paige walks over and places it on her shoulder and takes a selfie, NXT Women's strap on one side and Divas on the other.

The main event of the night saw Evolution take on Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry and Big Show in a match that was thrown together by Triple H to test that Evolution still had the IT factor and they do. They dispatched of the Wolds Largest athlete but it wasn’t without the distraction of Cesaro who under orders from Zeb Colter struck the Worlds Largest Athlete with his Andre Memorial Battle Royal trophy. This left the Big Show dazed and he was spine bustered to the mat by Batista.

The final segment saw Daniel Bryan approaching his car to leave the arena but as he does he hear someone shouting for his attention. He turns and realises its Paul Heyman who tells him that he liked the show earlier in the night and that he wasn't into playing the games like Angle and Evolution. But he sent a stark warning to the champion that Brock Lesnar has got his eyes on the prize and that the ender of the streak will end the career of Daniel Bryan…

Welcome to the premier recap of WWE Smackdown right here on Headlocks and Headlines and what a show it was.

The first segment of the night saw Dean Ambrose on his own in the ring speaking about the dominmance of the Shield and how the Hounds of Justice are raising up the ranks in WWE. He also speaks about how he is the longest reigning WWE United States Champion in history.But his bvoasting doesn’t last long as he is interrupted by Kane, who thumps down to the ring and stare in the face of Ambrose who says one line that leads to the end of the segment: “For Now!” Kane delivers to the two words with enough menace that Ambrose' bottom lip trembles in fear and Kane begins to maniacally laugh down the microphone.

The first match saw Damien Sandow defeat Mark Henry in a filler match. Neither men seemed interested in each other and was seen by the fans who had zero interested as exactly what it was.

A video played highlighting the first segment from Raw on Monday with Daniel Bryan and all his challengers.

Next up was a surprisingly good match between AJ Lee and Natalya, thorughout the match we saw Lee trying everything she could to cheat her opponent. Finally she picked up the win via a schoolgirl pin, whilst using her feet on the ropes for leverage for the three count. After the match however we saw Lee skipping around the ring to a harsh reaction from the crowd, until Paige comes walking down to the ring with her NXT Divas title and she teaches Lee to treat the Divas title with some prestige. Paige seems to be getting a positive face reaction from the crowd, Lee is her usual heel self to much hatred from the crowd.

Next up was another video package, this time of the WrestleMania match between Wyatt and John Cena.

In a debut on WWE, Adrien Neville picked up his first major victory nd it cam over the out of favour and poorly received; Sin Cara. Sin Cara lost when he blew his knee out leaping off the top rope and landing wrong. This allowed Adrien Neville to slowly and arrogantly climb to the top rope, as he gets to the top he turns and faces the crowd before smiling at the crowd, shrugging his shoulders and putting his hands in the before. Then he leaps with an amazing looking Corkscrew Moonsault and knocks the air out of the lungs of Sin Cara for the three count and the victory.

Another video plays highlighting the surprising loss for Triple H at the hands of Daniel Bryan from WrestleMania.

Next up saw Cesaro make his first Intercontinental Championship defence since winning it from Big E on the previous edition of Monday Night Raw. He did so successfully against the Irish Curse Sheamus who seems to be a poor run of form. The ending of the match came when Cesaro struck Irish born superstar across the back with his Andre the Giant trophy. Afterwards a distressed looking Sheamus was met by an over confident Wade Barrett who smugly told Sheamus that if Wade beats Sheamus next week, he’ll show him how a real man wins the title at Extreme Rules.

In the next match we saw the Big Show surprisingly lose to Rey Mysterio following another showing from Cesaro. He turned up with a his trophy and again smashed it across the cranium of Big Show. As he did so, Paul Heyman was shouting at him to make an impact, demanding that Cesaro sends a message to the back and to management that he will not be stopped!

In the closing segment we saw Kurt Angle come back to Smackdown and declare that he is willing to prove to himself, the fans and the superstars in the locker room that he still had what it takes to have one more run, one more shot at the top and that he will earn the respect of the WWE Universe whilst making it back into the fold!

Overall this was a better than average Smackdown and showed some promising storylines develop. These potential storylines included:

The Shield vs. Kane

AJ Lee vs. Paige

Barrett vs. Sheamus

Cesaro vs. Big Show

Interesting notes this week in wrestling:

Kurt Angle has been looking more in shape than when he left Impact Wrestling, however inside sources state that the 45 year old Olympic Gold Medallist has tested positive for steroid use and is already on a final warning within WWE. No official statement has been released from the company however.

Nikki Storm debuted in NXT this Thursday as Hailey Storm and defeated Bayley.

WWE Raw opens this week in a similar fashion to last week, we see the ring with three of the biggest men in the business; Evoluition. They run their mouth, each one taking their turn to attack the WWE World Heavyweight Champion; Daniel Bryan. From saying they are better than him to saying he looked like a goat, they gave him a verbal battering. They continue for a few minutes until the final countdown blasts throughout the arena and out walks the Champion who walks down to the ring to a chorus of yes chants. He smiles out at the crowd and enters the ring.

Daniel Bryan: “You say you are better than me? You say you are better than the champion? The WWE World Heavyweight Champion?”

To each question the fans respond with a yes in unison.

Daniel Bryan: “I don’t know if you’ve been living under a rock for the past year but I have beaten the best of the best. In fact not too long ago if I recall correctly, I beat all three of you in one night!”

Bryan continues smiling at Evolution who refuse to back away from the champion, he points to each man in turn.

Daniel Bryan: “That means that I beat you! I beat you! Oh and Triple H…I beat you!!! I have beaten every man stood in my way, I have worked here there and everywhere to make it in this business and I would do it all again if it meant putting an end to EVOLUTION!”

Triple H who was standing in the middle of the group, walked out into the personal space of Bryan who doesn’t budge.

Triple H: “Bryan, you’ve got it! You’re right, you will do it again. Daniel Bryan at Extreme Rules you will be facing: Randy Orton! Batista!! And The Game! The Cerebral Assassin! Daniel Bryan…”

Triple H gets in the face of Daniel Bryan trying to intimidate the champion.

Triple H: “Daniel Bryan!...You've got ME!!!”

Triple H does not look happy at Daniel Bryan standing his ground and he walks off shoving the shoulder of the WWE Champion. Batista and Orton smirk as they leave the ring.

In the opening match of the night the crowd got the displeasure of seeing AJ Lee dominant in her cheap victory over Alicia Fox who just could not keep up with the heel tactics of the Divas Champion. The victory came when Lee used the ring gear of Fox for extra leverage and the three count. In the front row of ringside for the match was Paige who sat taking notes, she was seemingly taking notes and the finish didn’t go over well as she sat shaking her head in disapproval.

We are taken to an old dirt track in Snake Bight, Florida, the cameraman stomps through the beaten road as rain drips down the lens and beats heavy on top of the camera. In the distance we see a solemn miners lamp and it cuts to a scene of the Wyatt Family, Bray sat on his rocking chair in the centre with Rowan and Harper either side. The rain drenched look in his eyes showed malice and evil, Bray begins to speak…

Bray Wyatt: John, John, John. You did the unthinkable. The unimaginable thing at Wrestlemania. John you awakened something in me that has been buried a real long time. John You awakened the snake, the venom in ma thangs are poisonous and I’m ready to bite! John Cena, at Extreme Rules you have no choice but to fight me and boy you’ll get the fight that you deserve. I am the eater of worlds John and yours is about to come crumbling down.

Bray looks up at the sky and the rain slides down his face and he wipes it off with one hand.

Bray: John! You are just one drop in the storm that is coming! Do you see it now? Do you see the end!? Follow! The! Buzzards!

Bray maniacally laughs down the camera as it pans back and in a moment the lamp is extinguished and the screen gets covered in rain water before fading to black.

In his return match, Kurt Angle took who issued an open challenge took on Tyson Kidd who entered the ring with as much confidence as he could muster. However his confidence was misplaced as he was taken to school by Angle who showed his prowess of chain wrestling and won with his Angle Slam.

After the match however Kurt helped the young guy up and offered a handshake which was accepted by Kidd and Kurt gave him words of encouragement before leaving the ring.

In what looked like a poorly booked match, Seth Rollins picked up a victory over Billy Gunn and the wear and tear of his body seemed to be showing. This allowed one of the hounds of justice to pick apart what remained of a former WWE Tag Team champion. Rollins picked up the win following his Avada Kedavra.

After the match we saw a heated confrontation between The Shield and The New Age Outlaws. But neither team came to blows.

The next match saw Dolph Ziggler take on and defeat Big Show in a one on one match, throughout the match Big Show seemed to be looking around constantly waiting for Cesaro to interfere. However he never and Ziggler picked up a clean victory over the Worlds Largest Athlete.

After a commercial break we are taken to the locker room of Cesaro, he is not alone however as with him is Paul Heyman. They sit watching the TV and Paul tells him to look at the screen, look at how the biggest man in the WWE is looking over his shoulder, because he is scared. Scared of what Cesaro will do to him next, Heyman reassures him, saying that Cesaro is making the right moves and that he will be WWE World Heavyweight Champion before he knows it.

Ending the show is the main event between; Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan against Triple H and Kane. The match took many twists and turns when each of Evolution tried getting involved in the match, but couldn't due to the strong presence of The Shield at ringside. Dean Ambrose did an incredible job against Triple H. Daniel Bryan was good but was surprisingly outshone by Ambrose who also did well against Kane. But it was indeed the Champion who picked up the win, it came as Ambrose was taking care of Kane inside the ring; Daniel Bryan did his patented dive to the outside, landing on The Shield and Triple H. He shot up and jumped straight back into the ring and gave Kane a swift Yes! Kick to his head.

Welcome to another addition of headlocks and headlines and another recap of WWE Friday night Smackdown.

The show opened this evening with Paul Heyman standing in the ring alone but with a smug son of a gun look on his face. He tells the crowd how his client; Cesaro has the WWE locker room running scared. He tells the crowd how he is the undefeated Intercontinental Champion, Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner and the future of the WWE. He goes on a speech about the dominance of Cesaro until he is interrupted by the Big Show who stomps down to the ring and challenges Cesaro to a match at WWE Extreme Rules. From the back charges Cesaro who cracks the battle royal trophy trophy over his head and states to the crowd, Yes in multiple languages.

Next up was a backstage segment where the interviewer; Renee Young asks Paige about the title reign of AJ Lee. Paige responds by telling her that when she was doing the rounds in England at the age of 15/16 that she was taught to respect her opponents and fight fairly. She has picked out Lee as a bad example and if she ever got the chance to take her on one on one she would come out victorious. Before the end of the segment Paige asked for a selfie from Young who accepted the invitation.

In the first match of the night we saw Adrien Neville take on Tyson Kidd and pick up a sound victory when he climbed the top and shouted to the crowd “I don’t Care!” before landing his Corkscrew Moonsault onto the chest of Kidd. The crowd seem to be enjoying the return of a high flying style to the WWE.

After the match, we saw Rey Mysterio come down to the ring whilst Neville was still in it and throughout his walk to the ring he was smiling and nodding his head at the winner. He got into the ring and congratulated Neville on bringing some fresh air to the WWE and hopes to get into the ring at some point. The men shake hands for a second, but Neville pulls him close and says “I…Don’t…Care…”

Next up we have Natalya defeat AJ Lee when she refuses to release the sharpshooter on Natalya. This is showing her disrespect towards a second generation superstar which does not go down well with Paige who is sitting at ringside in the front row.

Then we see a video package of Daniel Bryan and Evolutions segment from the previous Raw.

In a less than impressive match we saw Cesaro pick up a championship defence over Rob Van Dam. The finish saw Cesaro swing his opponent but releasing Van Dam causing him to crash and burn to the outside. Cesaro won by count out.

Next up was a video hyping the Shield and there dominance in the WWE, including Dean Ambrose’ recent run ins with Kane. This video was followed up by a match between The Shield and The Uso’s, where the Shield picked up the victory.

Next up on the show we saw a video highlighting the previous weeks confrontation between Sheamus and Wade Barrett and highlighted the fact that if Barrett wins he gets an Intercontinental Title shot at Extreme Rules.

That match happens immediately after the video and Barrett picks up a hard fought victory over the Irish Curse but it was after a hard hitting and stiff match between the pair. They did a good job of showing the wanted to EARN a shot a the title and not just put on a show. Throughout the match we had Cesaro on commentary saying how it didn’t matter who was to win because either man would face the wrath of the big swing.

Afterwards however Cesaro climbed into the ring, looking ready to smash Barrett over the head with the trophy but before he had a chance, Big Shows music hits. But as he walks down the ramp, Barrett starts attacking the Worlds Largest Athlete, proclaiming to be the number one contender not him.

The show ends with the camera panning and zooming into the grinning face of Cesaro who raises his Intercontinental Championship with pride…

This show came out two points worse than last weeks at a 70, however the storylines seem to be hotting up:

AJ Lee vs. Paige = 57

Barrett vs. Sheamus = 62

Adrien Neville vs. The World = 49

Big Show vs. Cesaro = 55

Raw opens this week with Evolution talking about how Daniel Bryan fakes the façade of not being afraid of them, for the sake of the fans. But they say that his façade will decay and come to a bitter end this Sunday at Extreme rules when he bows down to the King of Kings before being beheaded by the Viper Randy Orton and buried by the Animalistic Batista Bomb!

In a preview match for Extreme Rules we are treat to a triple threat match between Jey Uso, Seth Rollins and Billy Gunn. Gunn was made to look like the tired old man that he is when the rookies outshone him with every twist and turn. Needless to say, Gunn picked up the loss at the hands of Seth Rollins following his Avada Kedavra.

Another preview match for the up coming pay per view saw; Paige and Sheamus take on AJ Lee and Wade Barrett. However despite the divas being in the match, they need managed to make contact with each other as both men kept them separate so they could battle it out between themselves. The finish came when Barrett clobbers Sheamus with his Bull Hammer finishing move for the three count. Sheamus did not look impressed with Barrett and struck him with the Irish curse for good measure.

Next up saw a battle royal between Kane, Big Show, Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio and The Miz to determine who would be number one contender for the WWE United States Championship. The owner of that belt was at ringside putting some time in as colour commentator for the match. The finish came as a beaten up Big Show(from previous encounters with Cesaro) almost eliminated Kane. But Kane managed to survive and chokeslammed the big man to the canvas, as he did he turned and pointed at Ambrose and said you’re next whilst laughing. Ambrose stood up and shouted back at him that he could come and try it. But as he was distracted Big Show managed to get to his feet and they began exchanging blows. On the other side of the ring however was the sly and crafty Cesaro with belt and he slowly entered the ring. He ran at Show trying to clobber him with the belt, but he sidestepped him and Cesaro smashed it into the face of Kane. This gave Show a chance to get some payback, but Cesaro got out of harms way as quick as he got into it and hot footed it out of through the crowd.

The bell rang for a disqualification and Kane was announced the winner, and new number one contender for the United States Championship. But he still lay outcold on the mat. As Big Show leaves the arena, Ambrose enters the ring to gloat and stand tall over the fallen giant. But as he does, Kane sits up, looks him straight in the eye and laughs.

In the next segemt following a commercial break we saw John Cena challenging Bray Wyatt to a match tonight. Asking him why wait! Why Wait until Sunday at Extreme Rules. John seems to want to take the fight straight at the Wyatts rather than to listen to the mind warping promos of Bray. However the lights go out in the arena and one lone lantern ignites the arena, a small child walks down to the ring singing; “He’s got the whole world in his hand…” over and over. Again and again. Continually singing the same lyrics until…

HE appears. Wyatt sits in his rocking chair on the stage alone. He tells John that he will fight him tonight. IF he can defeat his brothers first. Bray sits chuckling, until silence.

The child enters the ring, and signals John to come down to his level…

A moment passes.

The child whispers down the microphone…

“He’s behind you”

The lanterns turns to black and the arena is dark, when the lights come back on John stands in the ring staring at the screen but when he turns around he caught with and enormous right hand from Erick Rowan and the match begins.

The match goes for a good 10-12 minutes and John picks up a hard fought victory with a three count following the Attitude Adjustment.

Cena managed to make it through this match as well with an Attitude Adjustment, but the effects fo the gruelling matches seems to be taking its toll on the former WWE Champion.

Then finally we see Bray Wyatt slowly entering the arena with his song blasting through every crevice, seemingly brainwashing the fans into singing along. But he doesn’t come along, behind him is children, all wearing the sheep masks.

As soon as Wyatt enters the ring, he is dropped with an Attitude Adjustment and Cena pins…No! only a two count, Wyatt is slow to get up as is John. But a stunned and daze Wyatt wanders aimlessly into another Attitude Adjustment from John, another pin…1…2…NO! Wyatt kicks out again and John cannot believe his eyes as Wyatt seems to be absorbing AA after AA. John cannot continue however and collapses to the mat, Wyatt who after kicking out of two AA’s rolled to the outside does not make it into the ring before the ten count. Bray finally makes it back in but at a count of 11.

The fans start booing as the feel robbed of a A+ match, but they are soon silenced when the children. Start walking back down to ringside, they stand around the ring and the lights go out before singing; “He’s got the whole world in his hands” the darkness is slowly filled as each child in turn lights their lantern. The final light is enough to show a downed John Cena and Bray Wyatt down in the ring, until Wyatt starts twitching and he is up but only in his crab position. The show ends with his face covered by hair and a menacing grin on his face.

Welcome to another recap of WWE Smackdown here at Headlocks and Headlines and it seemed like usual fare for the go home show of this month.

The show opened with Dean Ambrose showing a video of how he did not in fact strike the new number one contender with his championship belt. This angle was used to show Ambrose trying to smooth over his Kane situation which didn’t seem to be accomplished as the brash younger forgot to cut out the video of him standing proud over his opponent for Sunday. The segment ends when Kane appears on the titantron talking about how he is going to make Dean go through hell and high water if he wants to retain his title and challenged the member of the shield to an Inferno match. Ambrose agreed, tentatively I may add.

Next up was another match in which the Divas champion and her opponent on Sunday never made contact as Paige and RVD took on AJ Lee and Adrien Neville. In a teaser of things to come, Neville and RVD looked to be a very interesting match up as both had an answer to each others moves (the match was reminiscent of Hardy vs. RVD @ WWF Invasion).

In the next segment we saw Sheamus and Wade Barrett in the ring together, both are complaining that they deserve a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. However mid segment the music of Paul Heyman walks out to the ring with his client by his side, both men stand in the ring with smug grins on their faces. Paul tells the number one contender and Sheamus that his client will take on the two men…but it will be a Falls Count Anywhere match!

In another match on Smackdown, Kurt Angle took on and defeated Justin Gabriel in a hard fought match, Gabriel seemed to be putting in a shift against the Olympian who looked as though he couldn’t keep up with the younger star.

Next up on the show was a video hyping the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match on Sunday.

In another match, we saw Cesaro take on and defeat; Kofi Kingston, the match was slow and methodical as the Intercontinental Champion controlled the pace throughout the match. He picked up the victory with his giant swing and once again releasing it so it land Kofi on the outside.

After the match we saw a war torn Big Show limping down to the ring, he wasn’t foing to attack the champion however he was going to request a title shot. He told Cesaro and Heyman that he deserved the chance more than anyone on Sunday after being battered black and blue from the Swiss champion. Heyman laughed at the Worlds Largest Athletes pain and told him that if he could beat the United States champion Dean Ambrose in his main event match then he can be involved on Sunday!

In the main event of the night we saw Big Show limp around the ring until he couldn’t stand but somehow picked up the victory when the lights go to a red hue and fire erupts from the turn-buckles putting Ambrose off his game and he walks into a chokeslam from the Big Show.

Afterwards however as Ambrose lies motionless in the ring, Kane appears as if from nowhere and douses him with lighter fluid looking set to light him up. But as he tries to get his lighter form his suit pocket the Shield run in for the save attacking the big red monster and protecting there comrade.

The overall show rating for smackdown this week is a 70

Inferno Match:

WWE United States Championship

Extreme rules begins with a spectacular firework display and the theme song blasting throughout the arena, we cut to the announce table wheee a new look announce team sits in place, consisting of Michael Cole, JBL and William Regal who has been promoted from the NXT brand into spot left by Jerry Lawler (who walked out after being called up to take part in a squash match for Kurt Angle).

Michael Cole: Good Evening and welcome to WWE Extreme Rules here on the WWE Network and live around the world.

JBL: Yes welcome to the number one sports entertainment company in the world and what a show we have here tonight, I’m JBL alongside by broadcast colleagues Michael Cole and newcomer to the booth but veteran of the ring; William Regal.

Regal: Thankyou John and yes, we do have a fine show for you tonight, we will see Daniel Bryan defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Evolution members; Batista, Randy Orton and COO of WWE; Triple H.

Michael Cole: That’s right William and we start the night with an Inferno match for the United States Championship between champion; Dean Ambrose and challenger; Kane!

The match goes for 10 minutes until The Shield come down to ringside and start trying to entinguish the fire around the ring. But this causes them to flare up higher. Kane sees this and goes in for the kill, he lifst Ambrose over his head with a gorilla press but as he does, Ambrose manages to wiggle clear and drops down behind the Big Red monster and swipes his knee out from behind him before running towards the opposite rope and sprinting back hammering him with a dropkick to his back sending him reeling towards the ropes and landing face first on the fire. The camera cuts away as his clothes set alite and is face singes through the fire, Ambrose picks up a monumental title defence and shows he is a fighting champion.

As the crowd cheers Kane walks off with his hands over his face in secrecy hidhing the marks to his face and chest.

Next up on the pay-per view is a video hyping the main event and recapping the encounters between Daniel Bryan, Triple H, Batista and Randy over the past few weeks. This is used as a segment to allow time to take down the rigging from the Inferno match.

The next match of the night saw The Shield finally pick up the tag team straps from the Uso’s who crdeit to themselves put in a good shift. However the match was hurt by Billy Gunn who obvioously has little intention of pulling his wait, despite knowing that this was his last match due to retirement from in ring action. The finish came as the fans were waiting for Seth Rollins to perform his Diving Knee Drop but in defiance of Billy Gunns lack of interest, he stole his patented Fame-Asser move which went down tremendously with the crowd. He picked up the three count and The Shield become WWE Tag Team Titles.

After that match we saw Paul Heyman standing in the interview area alongside Cesaro and he is being interviewed by Renee Young.

Renee: Cesaro, tonight you are set to face off with a former Intercontinental Champion, former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion AND the Largest Athlete in the world; The Big Show.

Paul Heyman: I’m sorry Renee, am I invisible to you? I am not standing here? If you want to talk to my client, then you talk to me! My client, Cesaro is far to important to be talking to miscrients like you!

Renee: My apologies, how does your client…

Paul interrupts Renee mid-question and begins to speak.

Paul Heyman: You know what Miss Young. I don’t like you, more importantly, my client doesn’t like you. But you are right, you see he has got the deck stacked against him, he will be taking on a former IC, WWE and World Heavyweight champion and…well, a limping around has been known as Big Show. But that does not worry my client, all that does is show how big of superstar he is. You see tonight MY CLIENT, Cesaro will walk in as Intercontinental Champion and walk out the man who put the biggest baddest man in the WWE down! MY CLIENT will beat three of the best in one night and tomorrow night he will beat anyone in front of him, until there is no one left!

Paul hands the microphone to Cesaro who smiles and say to the camera in multiple languages; “ Until NO ONE IS LEFT!”

WWE Diva’s Championship Match

The next match saw the fan favourite; Paige take on AJ Lee in a match to decide the Diva’s champion. Paige put on a great showing and Lee couldn’t help but try her dirty tactics. Paige was hoping to live out her life long dream of hers however it wasn’t to be, even after flying her family in for the match. The finish of the match came when Lee tried to drag the mother of Paige over the barricade, this riles up Paige who screams to the heavens and charges to the outside. But Lee hot tails back into the ring and drops Paige with a drop kick as she tries to re-enter the ring. She drags her to feet before dropping her with her Shining Wizard and clutching her leg and using the ropes for leverage for a three count. After the match Paige looked inconsolable and even the comforting words could not ease the heart ache especially knowing that she was cheated out of the win. AJ Lee however just stood in the ring celebrating and rubbing in the face of the Brit.

Fall Count Anywhere:

WWE Intercontinental Championship

In what was highly built up, over the past few weeks, we saw a match that could not live up to the ideal. Instead we had Big Show fumbling around the ring and showed himself up to be in poor shape. However Cesaro showed some fine wrestling against Wade Barrett, whereas Sheamus just seemed to be there. The finish of the match came as Sheamus and Wade Barrett had the referees attention, leaving Cesaro the time to take out Big Show using his Battle Royal trophy. He hit him so hard that he cracked the trophy into several sections. After a Wasteland to Sheamus, Cesaro heads back into the ring and beheads Barrett with an European Uppercut and follows up with a Giant Swing. He swung him around for several seconds and landed him ontop of Sheamus and covered Sheamus for a clean 3 count.

Cage Match:

This match comes to a conclusion when Cena tries climbing the cage but with the constant threat of The Wyatt Family on outside, Cena kept dropping down and trying a pin. But each time he tried Bray would kick out, this lead to a final battle to climb the cage wall and ultimately Bray made it to the other side. This is because Harper and Rowan sat on John side beside the child from Raw on Monday night singing “He’s got the whole world in his hands…” Bray escapes the cage and laughs hysterically at John who knows he has been out matched.

Just before the main event of the night we are in the locker room of Dave Batista who is warming up before trying to get his hands on the WWE World heavyweight title. But as he does, he sees through his mirror, Daniel Bryan walking past his door. Batista seems to take major offence to this and follows out after him, he starts talking trash to Bryan and is about to strike the champion but as he raises his hand, he is stopped by Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Both members of the Shield smile at him and tell him they can’t let him do that, as it would be injust.

The main event of the night saw Daniel Bryan pick up another huge victory against three of the most dominant men of the past decade. He did so when the cracks started to appear in Evolution who couldn’t seem to get on the same page.He isolated the slowest in Batista and kept the other two men at bay on the outside of the ring showing how he control a ring no matter what the size of his opponents is. He took out the Animal by constantly hacking away at his legs with kick until the big man finally fell to his knees leaving him open to two huge looking YES! Kicks!

After the match all three of the losing men helped Batista to the back as Daniel was celebrating to the fans.

Headlocks and Headlines can today confirm that John Cena suffered an injury last night at WWE Extreme Rules, it is said that he has suffered a fractured shoulder blade. Officials have confirmed that John will not be back in the ring for at least a month as to allow the bone to heal.

This has already had an impact on the long term plans for his feud with The Wyatt Family, however it is not said to have hindered the push of Bray Wyatt as the company will look to find a suitable opponent for him to feud with. [Tune in this Monday for more news on how the WWE will fare without their biggest star and who will step up to shine with a vacant spot up for grabs.

Also coming out of the WWE is that Kurt Angle has been suspended for 28 days following his violation of the wellness policy for the second time, it has been confirmed that should he fail a third drugs test then he will be released from his contract. He has been getting a lot of backstage heat from the younger members of the roster, in particular The Shield due to him taking a spot that he hasn't earned despite the the storyline he is involved in.

WWE Raw starts this week with Stephanie McMahon standing in the ring and she begins to speak to the crowd in an authoritative role.

Stephanie McMahon: Daniel, Daniel, Daniel come on down to the ring right now!

The Final Countdown crashes throughout the arena and out walks WWE World Heavyweight champion; Daniel Bryan who has a huge smile and a sense of pride all over his face. He begins to chant Yes! To the crowd who respond and fill the arena with Yes chants, each time sounds like a thunder clap its so loud. Bryan enters the ring and listens to the crowd and waits for Steph to start speaking.

Stephanie McMahon: Congratulations Daniel, you somehow managed to defeat Evolution last night at Extreme Rules and credit where credit is due, you managed to pick off Batista who wasn't at his A game. But. I’m not here to talk about last night, tonight I’m here to talk about the main event tonight and what it means to the main event of WWE Payback. You see tonight Daniel you will find out who you will be facing at Payback because the main event will see four men who have held either the World or WWE Championship fight it out in an over the top elimination match. The winner Daniel, well he’ll be facing you in four weeks at Payback for your WWE World Heavyweight championship.

Daniel Bryan smiles before asking for a microphone from ringside, he is handed one and begins to speak.

Daniel Bryan: Look Stephanie, I’m not one to brag but last night I defeated three other former WWE and World Heavyweight champions in one match. Not only that but I defeated those same men who dominated the WWE in the past at WrestleMania. Who did you find for me to take on this time?

Daniel seemed a little overconfident as he finished speaking but it did the job of rallying the crowd into a Yes chant once again. So much so that Stephanie had to wait a couple of minutes for a window to begin speaking. Daniel Bryan seems like he can do no wrong at the moment.

Stephanie McMahon: Well Daniel tonight we will see Alberto Del Rio and The Miz and Christian AND Mark Henry battle it out and prove that they are worthy of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The crowd seems confused at the announcement of four men who have been missing from TV before WrestleMania.

Daniel Bryan: Do you think they scare me Stephanie? I am the WWE World Heavyweight Champion I am the slayer of the King of Kings and I think the fans will agree that I am the greatest wrestler in the WWE!?

The fans chant yes in unison!!

After a commercial break we saw Dolph Ziggler return to in ring action and he saw off Yoshi Tatsu in what seemed like seconds. The finish of the match came as Dolph dropped him with his Zig Zag finishing move and got a clean three count for the win.

After the match however saw Bray Wyatt silence the crowd when the lights go out in the arena and the slow burn of the lantern ignites him sat on the entrance way. He sits rocking on his chair and smiling for a minute until he begins to speak.

Bray Wyatt: Everything happens for a reason. Every footstep in the sand, every rain drop on your face. Every small, insignificant moment leads you down the path to bigger and better things. Dolph Ziggler, John Cena getting injured last night has lead me down the path, down the rickety road and has lead me to your door…

Dolph Ziggler stands at the base of the entrance ramp looking up at the stage where Bray Wyatt continues to rock on his chair and he slowly gets to his feet and begins to speak again.

Bray Wyatt: I stand here before you not just as the man who took out John Cena, but as the man who makes the walls come crumbling down around you. I walk into your home and burn it to the ground. Dolph Ziggler, I’m standing at your door. Now its time for you to decide, are you going to let me in or am I going to have to break down the walls of your existence and eat it!?

Bray looks on at Dolph, he raises the microphone to his mouth again but stops himself from speaking. Instead he blows out the lantern, but from the darkness sounds…

Bray Wyatt: The Storm is coming, follow the buzzards!

The sound of Bray laugh maniacally sounds throughout the arena and a graphic of buzzards plays on the big screen.

In a poor match we see Paige take on and defeat Tamina, throughout the match we saw Paige doing the right things and working it clean in a complete juxtaposition of AJ Lee’s style. This gains her the crowds support who are welcoming the Brit with open arms. During the match we had William Regal on commentary putting her over heavily (Regal has a style which favours itself to getting over the faces and piling the heat on the heels) and mentions the incident between Lee and Paige's mother at Extreme rules.

After another commercial break we see Dean Ambrose walking backstage with The Shield and they run into Evolution with Batista showing off a lump on the side of his head and black eye. Ambrose mumbles to his comrades that Batista got the Yes kicked out of him and the group s****** much to the despise of Evolution.

Batista: I tell you what you little punk, I’d kick the “Yes” out of you with one hand behind my back. I’d kick the p*ss out of the three of you on my own!

Roman Reigns steps out into the forefront coming face to face with Batista and he laughs in his face. The blatant show of disrespect from Reigns doesn’t sit well with Randy Orton who begins speaking.

Randy Orton: What's wrong Roman? You got to take a LEAKEE? Dave, since you haven’t been cleared to wrestle tonight, I’l teach these punks a lesson. Starting with you Roman. I’ll see you later tonight!

Evolution walk out of shot and Roman stands with a smirk on his face, the confidence oozing out of every orifice/

In a terrible debut match we saw the American Pitbulls defeat 3MB who couldn’t keep up the pace of the newest tag team and showed in a terrible performance. The finish of the match came when the Pit bulls finished Jinder Mahal off with a Powerbomb Backbreaker which shocked the crowd and the commentary team into a stunned silence.

Straight after the match we are taken to the backstage area where The Rhodes Dynasty are watching replays of the match and both of them look stunned by the tag team finishing move of the débutantes. But Goldust looked out of place in his gold one piece as he usually does.

After a word from the commentary team they rush us to the backstage area where a camera man is running down a corridor to where AJ Lee and Paige are arguing about the previous nights match. Despite Lee completely disrespecting the 21 year old, Paige refuses to lose her temper and instead walks away to AJ Lee shouting “Yeah walk away, loser!”

Next up on Raw we see the semi main event between Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. Reigns managed drag the match out for the 15 minute time limit to enable a draw. The fight did not finish there however as after the bell rand they fought up the ramp.

As they made there way to the top of the ramp out from the behind the curtain came Triple H with his trade mark sledgehammer and drove it into the cranium ogf Reigns who instantly dropped to the ground in a heap. The camera cuts to the back where in a similar pose lay Ambrose and Rollins.

Finally the main event is upon us and we saw a solid one but the winner was not as expected as Mark Henry out matched the the fan favourite of Christian. The finish of the match came as Christian leapt from the top rope with a cross body only to be caught by Henry who dumped into the outside like a piece of trash.

After the match Mark Henry spoke into the microphone welcoming Daniel Bryan into the entrance of the Hall of Pain! The message was sent to the WWE World Heavyweight champion as the camera panned around the ring focusing on ADR, The Miz and Christians bodies that lay scattered at ring side.

Another week has passed and you know what that means, yes, another Smackdown report from Headlocks and Headlines.

This weeks show opens with Big Show standing in the ring with his head taped up and a severely bruised eye. He called out Cesaro who didn’t respond but instead out came Paul Heyman who told the big man that his client did not wish to speak to him at this time as he is preparing for another show stopping win tonight. The pair argued back and fourth until Big Show had had enough and chase after the weasel; Heyman.

Next on the show we saw Adrien Neville pick up his biggest victory yet and in fine form as he triumphed over Kofi Kingston who was shown as the slower of the two. Neville picked up the win but it wasn’t without gaining a huge heel reaction from the crowd as he won the match but afterwards took a chair from ring side, placed it on top of Kofi’s head and leapt from the top rope with a double foot stop. As he landed on the chair, the crowd gasped in worry for the Ghanian superstar. As the crowd looked on, Neville walked to the back muttering to himself that he doesn’t care. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t care.

We come back from the commercial break and it shows us a clip from during the break and it shows Neville wandering the corridors aimlessly saying he doesn’t care. He wanders into the path of Rey Mysterio who tells him that his actions are going to come back to haunt him and that someone will have to put him back in his place.

The next match saw Wade Barrett continue his run of good fortune and pick up a victory over Rob Van Dam. The finish of the match came as RVD went up high for his finisher but crashed and burned onto the outstretched foot of Barrett for a easy looking three count. During the match however we had the notable presence of Sheamus who was telling the commentary team that his recent results have been down to bad luck at that Barrett is a bad omen. He seemed retired to the fact that he has to beat Barrett in order to start gaining momentum.

After a commercial break we are taken to the locker room of the Rhodes Dynasty who are showing a keen interest in the newest tag team to Raw; the American Pitbulls. They watch tapes from NXT and ROH and the veterans look on very impressed and seemingly worried about their spot.

Next up on the show is a horrible promo from AJ Lee, she’s standing around the back area talking to anyone that will listen. She is telling them that she is the best Diva’s champion ever and that she beat Paige without breaking a sweat.

The match that followed that segment was between Cesaro and Christian in which we saw Cesaro using the fractured and broken pieces of his trophy to maim his opponent. Cesaro seems to be getting more and more confident within the ring and looks unstoppable as he picks up the three count.

Afterwards however we saw Big Show walking down to the ring and Cesaro stands inside it waiting to attack the Worlds Largest Athlete who enters the ring and the two start brawling until they are broken up by the security. The crowd seem to be getting more into the storyline as they chant “Let them fight”

In the main event we saw the fears of Sheamus early in the night come true as he lost yet another match to Rey Mysterio. This time it was Barrett on commentary who was saying Sheamus can blame anyone else but it is simply because he is not good enough. Regal and Barretr bounced off each other well throughout the match,

This show garnered a rating of 73

Monday Night Raw opens with Stephanie McMahon in the ring opposite Mark Henry who is impatiently demanding a WWE World Heavyweight title match on tonight's show. Steph hushes him and tells him to wait for WWE Over the Limit in 2 weeks on Pay-Per-View. But in the infinite wisdom she says that she will once again show Bryan to be an undeserving champion as he will face off again Mark Henry, Luke Harper AND Erick Rowan in the main event in a handicap match. This does not go down too well with the crowd who are furious at the announcement of the match. Everyone ends the segment with a NO chant aimed at the decision.

In the opening match we saw Dean Ambrose take on Triple H, with the Shield (who were selling rib and arm injuries following the attack last week) on one side and Evolution on the other we were predicting a big blow up and that’s exactly what happened. As towards the end of the match we saw Rollins and Reigns stop Batista and Randy Orton from attacking the champion. The match turned into chaos until Ambrose dropped Triple H with his Dirty Deeds for the three count.

After the match the crowd were chanting for more but it never happened in the ring and instead the action boiled over into the crowd until security were forced to separate the warring factions.

A commercial break ends and we are taken to the ring where three teams are waiting in the ring for the bell to sound and begin their match. However the bell doesn’t ring and instead the music of The Miz blasts throughout the arena. He walks out with a massive grin on his face with confidence oozing out of every pore in his body and he begins running his mouth.

The Miz: Look at this!? Look at this joke! This half assed attempt at building a Tag Team division. We have a overgrown man in a onesie who looks like he has a bad case of “I had my time ten years ago and now I’m clinging on to my last moments in the spotlight!”

Then you have his brother! If dashing means average than yes! Cody you are dashing, Dashing towards a curtain jerker quicker than Steve Lombardi lost to… Well…Just about anybody!

The Miz walks around the stage for a half minute until beginning to speak again.

The Miz: You see I could beat anyone of you in that ring, I am a former WWE Champion, I have beaten the best and I can still beat the best.

The Miz is interrupted mid promo by Davey Richards who talks for the first time in the WWE.

Richards: I don’t know about you, but I see three teams in this ring Miz, What!? You can’t find anyone to play with? I’ll tell you what if you find a partner you can join in and we’ll make this a four and we’ll see which team comes out on top!!

The Miz stands on the entrance ramp with his arms crossed thinking about the challenge.

The Miz: No! You do not dictate to me when and how I wrestle. I am a former WWE Champion and I wrestle on my terms not some Dynamite Kid wanna be! But I will tell you this Davey, and this goes to all of you for that matter. I will find myself a partner and I will be in that ring facing off against you lot. But I’ll do it when I WANT TO! BECAUSE I’M THE MIZ!!! AND I’M AWESOMMMMMMEEEEEE!!!

The three way tag team match goes for around ten minutes when Cody Rhodes picks up the win over the Uso’s. Throughout the match we had the American Pitbulls having good quality exchanges with the Rhodes Dynasty.

Another match of the night saw Paige pick up another victory over a debuting diva, this match saw Sarah Stock getting an on air try out. Despite the lack of time given, Stock and Paige managed to use it quite well. However the finish came as Stock went for a top rope cross body but missed and Paige rolled her up into a pin for the three count.

Just as Daniel Bryan is getting ready for his main event handicap match; Dolph Ziggler walks into his dressing room in his ring gear. He asks the champion if he can team with him in the main event, telling Bryan that he has cleared it with Brad Maddox. Bryan agrees and the pair shake hands.

But as the walk through the corridors of the arena towards the gorilla position, they are blind sided by the goons of the Wyatt family and they drag them out to the ring where Mark Henry is waiting for them

The bell is official rang and Mark Henry plants both men with his slamming finishing move and expects the match to be over. But he is soon mistaken as Bryan kicks out and Dolph makes his way to his feet. The match goes on for another few minutes until order is resumed and the traditional tagging rules apply.

The finish of the match came as Daniel ascended to the top turn-buckle and leapt from the top rope onto the Wyatt Family with a splash. This allows Dolph time alone with the Worlds Strongest Man and he is persistently trying to knock him off his feet until he finally has him set up perfectly for his Zig Zag and drops him for the three count.

A battle scarred Dolph Ziggler stands triumphant in the ring but he looks understandably exhausted. But just before we expect the WWE Raw logo to come on the screen to signal the end of the show the lights go out in the arena…

The lantern ignites the stage and the eerie figure of Bray Wyatt sits rocking on his chair.

Rock…

Rocking…

Back and forwards goes Wyatt and the fans look on stunned, as does Dolph Ziggler who cannot figure out the motives of the maniac from Snake Bight, Florida.

Bray Wyatt: Hahaha. Dolph Z|iggler. You may have forgotten your sins of yesterday. You may have hidden your past imperfections and manufactured this façade. This masquerade that you are perfect in every way. But Dolph Ziggler I know the truth. I know what you have in your past. DOLPH I am going to unravel your lies and show the world. Show everyone that not always are things as they seem. Nick Theodore Nemeth… The Storm Is Coming…FOLLOW THE BUZZARDS….

Bray begins rocking on his chair once again.

WWE Smackdown opens this week with four of the six men from the two warring factions of WWE; Rollins and Reigns are called out to the ring by Batista and Orton. They are running their mouths about how the Shield are inferior to them in every single way. They don’t have the style, the women, the skills or even the authority. This signalled the entrance of Triple H who walked down to the ring, power dressed in his grey suit he reminds the shield that they are still tag team champions and that they must defend the titles or lose them. The Shield agree to a match and it is scheduled for tonight as they take on The Rhodes Dynasty.

Afterwards we saw a match between Big Show and Cesaro which fans were hoping would be the first and last. But it did surprise the crowd who actually looked to be getting into by the end to the point they were chanting for more. However, Big Show lost and looked defeated in attitude and actuality.

Afterwards, an outspoken and brash Cesaro demanded one more match and said that he would put his Intercontinental Championship on the line. He told the crowd and Big Show that he wanted to prove to the universe that he was the most dangerous man in the WWE and that he deserves his place on top of the pile. Big Show agreed and said he would sign the contract next week on Smackdown.

In yet another dirty finish, AJ Lee defeated Alicia Fox but this time throughout the match she was using dirty tactics revolving around the ropes. It ended when Alicia couldn’t compete following Lee holding on a sleeper despite Fox holding the ropes for the break. Throughout the match we had shots of Paige who is backstage watching the action with her mother who does not seem pleased.

As the match ends we see Saraya sprinting down to the ring and she slides in without a hesitation but as she does Lee slides out the other side and runs to security. She screams at them to do there job and they intercept the irate Brit who seems to be doing a very poor job at looking angry, meanwhile Lee walks away smiling.

The next match saw Rob Van Dam taking on Adrien Neville and before they start, RVD extends his hand once again showing a sign of respect. But it is kicked away and the match begins.

The first encounter between the two goes for around 10 minutes and gets a decent response from the crowd. But it is not enough for the British Neville who is narrowly beaten by a flash three count following a rolling thunder from the Battle Creek native. The soft finish does not give justice to the performances of Neville in recent weeks.

After the match as RVD is walking to the back Mysterio tells him that he is impressed by Neville and that he is a great talent. But needs to be taught some respect and that they should try and make him see the error of his ways.

In the semi main event we see Sheamus and Christian lose at the hands of Wade Barrett and Damien Sandow who seem to be a good pairing. Sheamus still cannot seem to catch a break and pick up his elusive victory over well just about anyone. Barrett picks up the win with his wasteland to Sheamus.

After the match Renee Young enters the ring to ask Barrett about his seemingly new found run of good form. He told her that it was all skill and technique, the sort that Sheamus looks to have lost and that it’s a simple case of the best man won.

The main event is up and it goes off perfectly as The Shield look vulnerable as a result of the previous few shows and look set to lose at the hands of the Rhodes Dynasty. But they don’t and manage to pull off a victory when The Miz drags Cody Rhodes off the apron and to the back, as he does Goldust drags his sorrowful looking corpse to his corner, only find himself alone. This gives The Shield the perfect opportunity to Spear him followed up with a Diving High Knee to his head.

The Shield stand victorious with their title belts in hand and look smug at the fact.

May 2014 - Week 2

This weeks Raw opens as usual with an in ring confrontation between Daniel Bryan and Stephanie McMahon. But this week she is also joined by Triple H who informs the crowd that he and his wife have come to the decision to kill one bird with two stones and pit Daniel Bryan off against the muscle of the Shield; Roman Reigns. Hoping that the two of them will beat the hell out of each other before Payback in a two weeks time. Daniel Bryan seems ready for his challenge.

After a short commercial break we are taken to the interview set where Renee Young is standing beside the Miz:

Renee Young: In recent memory we have seen you talking about how you could beat the tag team talent in the ring. But you have to prove youur words have merit to them. So how do you plan on showing you mean business?

Miz: Well Renee, I am one of the most decorated wrestlers in this company. I have held every major title put my way and what? What do I have to show for it? Nothing, so I have set out a plan and that’s to go for the weakest title first and that’s the Tag Team titles. So I have made it my mission to get under those guys’ skin before Payback so I can waltz in and take the titles from them without breaking a sweat.

The next match was a four way elimination tag team match and the victors were The Rhodes Dynasty who managed to pull off another win again The American Pitbulls, The Uso’s and The Wyatt Family.

Next up on Raw we saw Bray Wyatt alone making an elaborate entrance down to the ringside and sat on the ramp smiling and rocking back and forwards waiting for the next match to begin between Dolph Ziggler and Mark Henry (who are already in the ring).

That match goes on for around 12 minutes until the action spills to the outside and the constant presence of Bray at ringside rocking back and forth was enough to put Dolph off of his game. He stumbled whilst walking towards Henry allowing him to be scooped up and slammed down on the outside and gave Henry a distinct advantage. Henry rolled him into the ring and pinned him for the three count.

After Henry leaves the ring and Dolph lays spread out on the canvas; Bray pulls out a microphone, the lights fade to black and he begins speaking.

Bray: Nicky, Nicky Nicky. Mr. Homecoming King, Mr. Jock. Mr. Money in the Bank. Mr. World Heavyweight Champion…… Mr. Perfect!?

Bray declares Dolph all of these titles whilst a smile on his face.

Bray: Dolph Ziggler you are nothing but a façade. A Front. A false appearance. Nick Nemeth. I know the real you. I know the man you really are. I know what you have done in your past. I know the skeletons in your closet.

Bray starts laughing at himself and continues to rock back and forth.

Bray: I know each and every one of your deepest darkest secrets. But Dolph this is personal!

As he’s talking Dolph gets to his feet and sprints before sliding under the bottom rope and attacks Bray, causing him to fall from the rocking chair before pummelling him with rights and left. This continues for several minutes getting wilder and wilder until it seems like half of the locker room are out to drag Ziggler from Bray. But as they are separated Bray remains on the floor laughing as blood spurts from his mouth and nose.

Diva’s action is next as AJ Lee is pinned by Natalya. The finish of the match comes as AJ tries to grab the tights of Natalya only for her to kick out strongly and roll her up into a small package. Throughout the match we had Paige on commentary calling out of AJ’s heelish tactics, all the time William Regal (who has permanently replaced “The King” on commentary due to his desire to retire from all forms of wrestling) is agreeing with her but saying that if its not broken, then why fix it?

The next segment saw AJ leaving the ring and confronts Paige and demands a rematch of Extreme Rules, next week on Monday Night Raw to which she agrees!

Finally is the main event of Raw and we saw a decent match between Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. However the plan to kill two birds with one stone didn’t work out as they didn’t destroy each other but after the match they shook hands and congratulated each other on a good showing.

This showing of respect however did not go down to welll as Evolution sprint down to the ring and attack both men. Bryan is pedigreed to the mat and discarded to the outside, but Reigns isn’t granted such pleasantries as he is taken out, first with a Batista Bomb, then and RKO and finally a pedigree. But as The Shield sprint down to the ring through the crowd; Evolution simply leave the ring and the broken and battered remains of Roman.

With only two Smackdowns left before Payback the WWE opens the second last one with a contract signing naming the first match to be between Cesaro and Big Show. The contract signing itself was hosted by Paul Heyman on behalf of his client, the fans were expecting a big brawl but it was relatively subdued. This showed the ring smarts of Cesaro knowing that he cannot beat the worlds largest athlete without some scheme. The contract signing came to a close with both men staring at each other with the Intercontinental title laying on the table behind them.

The first match of the night started strong between RVD and Rey Mysterio but both men seemed to be losing their edge. The finish came when RVD was dropped to the mat with the 619 and Mysterio picked up the win. But afterwards as they both were visibly tired, Adrien Neville sprinted down to the ring and attacked both men sending Rey over the top and brawling with him on the outside. As he does so RVD tries to come out after them and protect his long time friend. This angers Neville more and the brash and energetic young superstar turned his attentions to Van Dam. Getting the upper hand, Neville drags RVD into the ring and brings a chair in with him. He shouts in his face before dangling him in between the middle and top rope with the chair over the back of his head. Neville slowly and methodically climbs to the top rope and mimics the taunt of RVD with his fingers but shouts to the crowd “ I DON’T CARE!” He then leaps high into the air before stamping double footed onto the chair sending RVD face planting into the canvas. Afterwards Neville smiles looking proud of himself and walks out of the ring, as he does the referees and emergency medical team sprint past him and into the ring looking severely concerned over Rob Van Dam.

Next up on Smackdown we see The Shield, this week of Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose taking on The Rhodes Dynasty and winning. The match was made all the more entertaining by The Miz on commentary running his mouth and insulting Dustin and Cody.Throughout the match we had Michael Cole asking The Miz about his mystery tag partner with him saying all in good time constantly.

After the match we had, Goldust and Cody confront The Miz and telling him that they’ll be at ringside next week to see who he has got to be his partner and to find out if he is all talk and no walk.

The next segment was a building block in the creation of a new gimmick for Dolph Ziggler. He is standing on a wide open golf course until a cameraman and Renee Young run up behind him and start asking him about Bray Wyatt. Dolph respond by telling her to look at this and as she does, he smashes the ball into the distance and the camera is follows the ball to hole and Dolph hits a perfect hole in one. But as Renee says back to you guys on commentary. The camera picks up Dolph saying “Now that’s perfect.”

The next match saw Paige take on Layla and win, but at ringside featured Saraya who was shouting help out at her daughter which seemingly helped her to pick up the victory.

The next segment saw Sheamus walking around the back stage area until he walks into a small catering area. He spots Finlay across to the other side and approaches him slowly. They talk for a few minutes and Sheamus asks him if he’ll help him to get his career on track. The always happy to help Finlay agrees and tells him he has his assistance.

The next match saw the first time Sheamus and Finlay working closely together and it sadly did not work as Sheamus just couldn’t get the win over Damien Sandow. The camera focuses on the face of Sheamus throughout the match and he looks to be losing all faith in himself and wrestling. Finlay tells him to keep his head up but it doesn’t seem to help.

After the match a cocky Wade Barrett walked down to the ring and picking off the dead meat that is Sheamus he challenges him for a match next week on Smackdown. Sheamus hesitantly agrees under the guidance of Finlay.

In the main event we see Wade Barrett dominate over Christian and shows the other side of the coin in comparison to Sheamus. Barrett seems to be becoming a more formidable opponent than anyone anticipated.

But she is interrupted by Mark Henry who stomps down to the ring, he tells her that when he signed up for the number one contenders match that he wanted to get his hands on Bryan earlier than the pay-per-view. Steph agrees but tells him that he should have made more of an impact and tells him that she doubts his credentials. They argue for several minutes until they are interrupted by Daniel Bryan who walks down to the ring to a chorus of yes chants and hands Stephanie McMahon a contract and tells her that he wants it signed so there cannot be any altercations between Henry and himself until Payback unless it is in an officially signed match. She’s argues until he tells her that its already been signed by Vince McMahon! The finish of the match came as Paige finally had enough of their cheating and leapt into action off of a hot tag from Big Show. She ran into the ring drop kicked Cesaro to the knee and again to the face as he fell. They brawl on the outside whilst the action continues in the ring, the distraction to Sheamus however gives Henry a chance to scoop him up and slam him with the worlds strongest slam for the three count.</div></blockquote> 63 <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37907" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>After the match however the brawling between Daniel and Wade continues as does Sheamus and Henry until Stephanie McMahons music sounds through the PA system. She enters the arena with microphone in hand. Stephanie McMahon: Stop this! Stop this right now! Since you cannot seem to stop interfering in Sheamus’ matches Wade. And you want to get your hands on Daniel Bryan Mark, this Friday on Smackdown; the four of you will face off in a fatal four way match!! The match ended when Triple H cracked the spine of Rollins with a strike form the sledgehammer sending him straight down to the canvas. Who despite looking like he’d been in a car crash and he looked beaten up to the point where children were scared of the bruising as he made his way through the crowd, managed to prevent the attack with his presence alone. He entered the ring to stand beside his fallen comrades and Batista & Randy Orton exited the other side. However Triple H didn’t as he stood toe to toe with him not backing away.
