BREAKING NEWS

Several month ago, we ran a story that Ursula Hayden, GLOW's very own; "Babe, The Farmer's Daughter," was rumored to have sold the company, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, to an unknown source.

We can now confirm that rumor as true. Earlier this evening, Ursula Hayden announced to the entire wrestling world via Twitter, that the sale of GLOW was finalized late last year and also revealed that the new owner of the company is........

CYNDI LAUPER!!!!!!

Cyndi Lauper is an American singer-songwriter and actress best known for top hits such as; Time After Time, True Colors, and Girls Just Want to Have Fun. However, she is no stranger to the wrestling world. In 1984, Lauper appeared in WWE, then WWF, and helped launch the "Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection." She also appeared at the first ever Wrestlemania where she helped Wendi Richter win the Women's Championship against Leilani Kai.

Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling was a professional wrestling promotion for women, begun in 1986 (the pilot was filmed in December 1985) and continued in various forms after it left television in 1990. Colorful characters, beautiful women, and over-the-top comedy sketches were integral to the series success. Most of the performers were actresses, models, dancers, and/or stunt women hoping to get into show business through wrestling.

This diary is based on the real life 1980's women's promotion, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, also known as GLOW! Feel free to check them out on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorgeous_Ladies_of_Wrestling.

This diary is set in the present... 2015! I will be using TEW2013 for the most part, just so I can keep things organized. Match and show ratings will not be documented. This dynasty will run on a week to week basis. A weekly show will be posted around the same time every Thursday. The first show will be posted in two weeks. I will update regularly until then with backstage company news, rosters, new signings, and other randomness.

Feel free to comment on ideas such as a roster and a weekly tv show name! I hope you all enjoy this, as I am extremely excited about finally getting to do this diary!

CYNDI LAUPER BREAKS HER SILENCE

Shortly after the news broke that Cyndi Lauper had bought the wrestling company, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, Cyndi made the following announcement on her official website.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, I thought maybe I should give you all some more information on this new venture of mine. I have indeed purchased the women's wrestling organization GLOW! I have met with several tv network executives in the last year and I'm happy to announce that Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling will be returning to the tv airwaves at the end of this month, with a weekly one hour show, and it will air on the LGBT network, LOGO. This station does great work for the community that is dear to my heart and I'm honored to be working with them with this new venture.

This time around, the roster will not consist of unknown models and actresses that have no idea what pro wrestling is! I have personally visited several women's wrestling companies here in United States, such as SHIMMER, SHINE, and Women Superstars Uncensored.. to scout for new talent to join this company.

I will be updating you all shortly on the new characters and who will be playing them. A lot of creative minds went into building these new characters and I can't wait to announce them soon to the whole world!

I'm very excited to open this new chapter in my life and I hope that all of you tune in to this new wrestling company. If you remember anything from the original, it's going to be a lot of fun!

The Joint

BREAKING NEWS

With only two weeks left until the first televised GLOW event, we can confirm that Cyndi Lauper has signed a long term deal with Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada to bring GLOW to their facilities. The weekly GLOW televised events will be held at "The Joint" venue which is located in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The venue holds 4,000, however after production sets and a four sided ring is brought in, the numbers will fall to around 2,000.

Sources inside GLOW have reported that even though tickets have yet to become available to the public, many of the seats have already been filled!

With this deal, Cyndi Lauper will also be holding weekly concerts at The Joint for the next year and most of the proceeds from these concerts will be pumped back into GLOW.

More news to come, as it becomes available!

Love the nod to the original GLOW & Col. Ninotchka, as well as the awesome names (Sue Nami, Sarah Safari, etc - they all have that "GLOW" feel to them).

I can already see Robin vs Camille Alter or Donna Dead just based on the bios.

New Announcing Team

We are less than 24 hours away from the debut of GLOW live on LOGO TV and we are happy to reveal the announcing team for the weekly shows:

Gilbert Corsey will be joining the GLOW team as head announcer on GLOW Live every week on LOGO TV. Corsey previously worked for Ohio Valley Wrestling as backstage interviewer and also announcing.

Lisa Moretti will be joining Corsey at the announcer's desk. Moretti is best known for her time in WWE as Ivory. Moretti is also one of the original GLOW Girls, as she was Tina Ferrari

Former American Figure Skater and three time U.S. National Figure Skating Champion, Johnny Weir, will be joining the GLOW team as he takes the role of backstage interviewer.

Everyone at GLOW welcome these three individuals and their talents!

Loved the show. I haven't seen GLOW in ages but i has the feel of what I remember it being like. The skits were a great way to introduce the characters. I would have marked out if it was Tina Ferrari at the announce table. Awesome job.

Last weeks show should have been up last Thursday, however I had lasik eye surgery on Thursday and have had some temporary side effects associated with the surgery. So, I just wanted to give everyone who reads this diary, the heads up... I've been writing the results the old fashion way, pen and paper, because I've been giving my eyes some rest by not staring at a computer screen for long periods of time So, I'll probably be able to post last weeks results either tomorrow night or Tuesday, after I type them up from the paper!

Preview for next weeks show will be posted right after the results and then I'm going to do my best to have the results for this weeks show up on Thursday!
