Live on YouTube and Retriever Activities Center on the campus of UMBC!

Fun day today, many of the superstars and I spoke to a group of classes at UMBC about the business and starting companies. I primarily spoke about the company I sold a few years earlier, but nonetheless most of the questions were about the wrestling. This was a great way to engage captive audiences and guarantee a good crowd for the show.

Jim Ross and Matt Morgan start the show off running down the card for the night and what has happened in the first three weeks of Global Force Wrestling. Together they hype the big main event between AJ Styles and Jeff Jarrett. One of these men will be eliminated from becoming the first Global Force World Champion. They also mention that they have been told Rhino has requested and been granted a rematch with Chris Hero, next week.

<a href="

The Addiction</a> they groove onto the stage together, doing their typical pre-match routine, high-fiving each other as they go. In the ring their opponents Caprice Coleman and Jimmy Yang get the traditional "new guys" intro.

Match 1: The Addiction defeated Caprice Coleman and Jimmy Yang

This match was a big-time surprise to me. I would call it one of the top 5 matches we've seen so far in GFW. Caprice Coleman and Jimmy Yang didn't work very fluidly as a team, but I am absolutely excited to see both of them battle it out in the Cruiserweight division as things get established! The Addiction as expected carried much of the offense in the match and won the match via the Wave of the Future on Coleman.

<a href="

Jeff Jarrett</a> makes his way out to a smattering of applause but primarily boos. Jarrett tells the fans to cut the crap and thank him for finally bringing true wrestling back to their screens. He puts over AJ Styles and calls him one of the best he's ever wrestled... but then promptly changes his tune saying that all of AJ's wins against him going back 13 years now have one thing in common. Luck. Three weeks ago when they first met in GFW, AJ got lucky and caught Jarrett in a move he hadn't seen from AJ before. But this week, Jarrett is going to win... that's a guarantee.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmucecI0gLk"> Elijah Burke </a>heads down to the ring. He seems perturbed and is looking over his shoulder for any signs of The Unkindness. The cameras spot them sitting up towards the top of the seating area.

<a href="

Chris Sabin</a>is out next. He is hyped up over his recent win over Benjamin Adams and looking to take another step towards the gold this week.

Match 2: Chris Sabin defeated Elijah Burke, Cradleshock after distraction from The Unkindness, to advance in the World Title Tournament

This match was a bit of a disaster from a wrestling perspective. Despite both being great workers, the crowd just didn't seem interested in this match. This disappointed me personally because we have a great deal of hope for both of these men. In the end, The Unkindness played a role in costing Elijah Burke the win. Raven and his disciples started walking down the stairs towards the ring through the crowd, catching Burke's attention. Sabin took advantage of this and hit the Cradleshock on Burke for the victory. After the match, Raven, Bodhi and Dante were about to enter the ring when The Naturals flew down the entryway and The Unkindness retreated back up into the stands.

Before his match with Scott Steiner, Ted DiBiase, Jr. cut a scathing promo on Steiner. He mentioned that growing up wealthy he got to experience a lot of the finer things in life, like fine aged steaks and vintage wines, but one thing he knows has never aged well, over the hill wrestlers...

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGFU64lPIy8"> Scott Steiner</a> makes his way down looking ticked off, and perhaps slightly out of breath.

Match 3: Ted DiBiase, Jr. defeated Scott Steiner via Dream Street to advance in the World Title Tournament

Steiner's age and lack of stamina caught up to him tonight. After two wins to kick off his GFW career, he took the defeat in this match-up. He started out hot, taking it to DiBiase for the first three minutes of the match, but once DiBiase had weathered the storm, it was all over. DiBiase struck him down and hit the Dream Street for the victory. Ensuring himself a berth in the Semi-Finals.

Before the break we get a quick video package with John Hennigan talking about how excited he is to be getting the chance to face a guy like Homicide. He calls Homicide one of the most unique challenges he has faced, but promises in the end, Homicide will be taking a ride on Starship Pain.

Match 4: John Hennigan defeated Homicide via Starship Pain to advance in the World Title Tournament

We returned from the commercial break to both men in the ring and bell ringing.

Another match that didn't quite live up to the expectations we had for it. The two mens contrasting styles meant we didn't see a lot of aerial work from Hennigan and only got to see a limited amount of the technical work we are used to seeing from Homicide. In the end, Hennigan got the better of Homicide and won the match via Starship Pain.

As Homicide left the ring and was heading backstage he was jumped by Carlos Colon, Jr., Colon was about to swing a chair into the back of the fallen Homicide when security pulled him away. Colon was yelling, something in spanish, that to those who understood could be translated as, for my family, for my people, not yours, not yours.

<a href="

Styles</a> makes his way out to the ring. His ring-gear for this bout is vintage AJ Styles, sleeveless light blue vest with the hood pulled up. Trunks in the matching light blue with Styles on the back. He looks focused.

<a href="

Jeff Jarrett</a> Jarrett strides out to the ring in his signature silver trunks with neon green designs along the side. He has his typical cocky smirk, and looks ready to advance in the tournament.

Main Event: AJ Styles defeated Jeff Jarrett via Calf Killer to advance in the World Title Tournament

This was the match of the night, though it was close that's how good the opener was. Jarrett and AJ Styles clicked and the performance showed. The fans were really entertained by a series of chain wrestling to start the match. Both workers really worked the crowd throughout this one. Jarrett seemed to have an answer for every one of AJ's moves. The final sequence came when Jarrett Irish Whipped AJ and went for a hip toss, AJ flipped through it, landing on his feet and immediately hitting the <a href="http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii51/kay_RVD/aj87.gif">Pele Kick</a>. Dropping Jarrett and allowing AJ to lock in the Calf Killer for the victory.

JR and Matt Morgan point out that AJ has now made Jarrett tap, twice. The fans chant You Tapped Out as the show ends.

Very pleased with how this show went overall. We wrapped up the month with a bang and the crowd was treated to two of our top matches of the month. As my brain recaps this first month I'll be back later to post some of my thoughts on the month, an update on a potential Pay Per View and a preview for next weeks show. Thanks for watching!
