News and Notes

*Speaking of NXT, the WWE is putting an even heavier emphasis on the show which Triple H says will someday not be just a developmental system but a full fledged brand. To these ends the roster is undergoing a re-haul which one source claims will result in NXT having as deep if not a deeper roster than any company not named WWE.

*Part of that retooling was Jason Jordan, Scott Dawson, Tye Dillinger and CJ Parker being sent back to the Performance Center.

*Another sign is that WWE is prepared to wish Sylvester Lefort, Judas Devlin, and J Bronson well in their future endeavors when their contracts end this month.

*The TNA contract of Jeff Hardy is near its end. No word on if he'll resign or if anyone else has interest in him.

*Former NFL star Shawne Merriman graduated from the Performance Center last month. He's expected to garner a contract from the company.

*Chris Sabin became the first ever Global Force Wrestling World Champion.

*The WWE cleared about $10,000,000 this past month.

*JBL and Dean Malenko are expected to be approached with new contracts by the end of the month.

*Jack Swagger has found himself in hot water again following what one unnamed source says was a failed drug test, likely marijuana. Swagger has been sent home for a month as this is his second violation. It also means he likely cost himself a Royal Rumble check as he was slotted to be one of the thirty entrants.

*Odd news of the week: Dean Malenko and referee Charles Robinson are suddenly fast friends backstage because they both enjoy making ships in a bottle...go figure.

It's 2015 and RAW has never been hotter. Four weeks away from the Royal Rumble and this Monday we will see the biggest main event in RAW history when John Cena teams with Dean Ambrose to face WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins. Will Lesnar destroy his Rumble opponent early...or will he be looking over his shoulder at the man who carries the golden briefcase?

-Weeks after earning her own title shot in a Divas battle royal, Brie Bella challenged AJ Lee to put the strap on the line this week which AJ has agreed to. As they focus on one another, neither can afford to take their eye off Nikki and her newfound path of ruthless aggression.

-Weeks ago Goldust and Stardust lost their World Tag Team Championships to the Big Show and Mark Henry. This week it's their contracted rematch but can the bizarre brotherhood overcome the biggest Tag champions in history?

-Triple H has promised to have a major announcement this Monday night. What does the COO have in mind and what will the ramifications be for the WWE Universe?

Announced Matches

*John Cena and Dean Ambrose vs Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins

*AJ Lee © vs Brie Bella for the WWE Divas Championship

*Big Show and Mark Henry © vs Goldust and Stardust

*Triple H's announcement. (Any guesses?)

January, Monday Week 1

Staples Center—Los Angeles

20,052 in attendance

[A video package is shown of John Cena attacking Brock Lesnar, Triple H's announcement of tonight's main event, and Dean Ambrose surprising Seth Rollins on Smackdown.]

Grade: 90

----------------

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/A0EHBSE8I80?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Grade: 84

----------------

[backstage Seth Rollins seems to be ready for business when he nearly walks into Paul Heyman and the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. After some brief pleasantries they seem to be on the same page but when Lesnar sees Rollins tap his briefcase with a smirk he's in his face. Heyman calmly gets them to separate and Rollins quickly moves on.]

Grade: 86

----------------

Tyler Breeze w/Barbara Kelly vs Adam Rose

The Rosebuds are out in force but its Breeze and Kelly who have the attention as she facetimes him live to the titantron. Once the match begins he and Rose battle back and forth for a few minutes but Breeze puts it away with a Beauty Shot and makes an easy pinfall.

Winner by Pinfall: Tyler Breeze

Grade: 56

COMMERCIAL BREAK

[backstage Triple H and Kane are trying to calm Rollins down as he relates his story of running into Lesnar. Triple H assures him its all under control. This is about doing business and Lesnar is a businessman. Rollins doesn't quite believe that but he isn't about to argue with the COO either.]

Grade: 87

----------------

Ryback vs Fandango

There are squashes and there are pianos falling on your head like an old cartoon. This was the latter. Bell-Meathook-Shell Shock-Victory.

Winner by Pinfall: Ryback

Grade: 60

----------------

[John Cena and Dean Ambrose are seen arriving backstage, both of them look like they're ready for a war tonight.]

Grade: 88

COMMERCIAL BREAK

[Triple H and Stephanie are backstage very excited. He says he can't wait to see the main event tonight and though she agrees she says she thinks something else is going to happen that has been a long time coming.]

Grade: 89

----------------

WWE Tag Team Championship

Mark Henry and Big Show © vs Goldust and Stardust

The former champions attack before the bell rings and hold the advanatge through the early minutes of the match but you can't teach size and strength and the current champs have plenty of that. Mark Henry catches Goldust out of the air during a cross body block on the outside of the ring and hits a World's Strongest Slam. Then with Stardust on the top, Big Show catches him around the throat and delivers a chokeslam down to the mat for the 1-2-3.

Winners by Pinfall and still WWE Tag Team Champions: Mark Henry and Big Show

Grade: 65

----------------

[backstage Renee Young runs into the Nature Boy Ric Flair. He says its Monday Night Raw, it's 2015, and the Nature Boy wouldn't be anywhere else because tonight it’s the biggest match in RAW history.]

Grade: 76

COMMERCIAL BREAK

[it's time for the Divas Title match and Brie is the first one out but as she's in the middle of a YES! chant on the stage, Nikki comes out from behind with what appears to be a pipe and smacks her directly behind her left knee. Brie falls, holding her leg and Nikki screams at her saying it should be her's, it should all be her's. Officials and doctors rush to Brie as Nikki escapes to the back as her sister sobs.]

Grade:71

COMMERCIAL BREAK

[Following the break we see a replay of Nikki's heinous attack on her sister. Michael Cole tells us Brie is in the medical room being attended to now.]

Grade: 68

----------------

[Renee Young spots another Hall of Famer in Mick Foley. He reiterates what Flair said earlier. Cena and Lesnar, Ambrose and Rollins, all in the same ring with all that history and blood between them. No one should want to miss that and it's going to happen...right here.....in Los Angeles [crowd gives the accustomed cheap pop].

Grade: 80

----------------

Cesaro vs Dolph Ziggler

A good match showing flashes of pure chemistry between the competitors goes back and forth with several close falls keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. Finally it appears with Ziggler flat on his back it's time to put him away but when Cesaro bends down to pick up his legs for the big swing, Ziggler pulls him into a small package for a three count before he escapes the ring, nearly surprised that he won.

Winner by Pinfall: Dolph Ziggler

Grade: 74

----------------

[As Ziggler celebrates with some fans at ring side, Cesaro sits up in the ring, a stunned look on his face, staring straight ahead disbelieving the fact his challenge has cost him a spot in the Rumble match.]

Grade:75

COMMERCIAL BREAK

[stephanie McMahon is outside the medical room and tells Renee Young that she has two announcements. First, she wants to congratulate Renee because starting tomorrow night on Syfy Smackdown is live every week and Renee will be calling the action. Renee looks shocked but thanks her repeatedly.

Stephanie then goes onto say that it's not looking good for Brie and frankly that leaves the Divas #1 contendership in jeopardy. So she has decided that there needs to be a real #1 contender so Brie will have to answer the bell at the Royal Rumble against someone who has shown a ruthless streak like no one else in Divas history for the right to face AJ at Wrestlemania.]

Grade: 71

----------------

[speaking of the Rumble, we're taken to pre-recorded comments by Roman Reigns who says time is getting closer for his return to the ring and it will happen in four short weeks because he's already got himself a slot in the Rumble match and he'll be going on to face the champion. Cena....Lesnar...it doesn’t matter because he'll beat either of them.]

Grade:81

----------------

Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman vs John Cena and Dean Ambrose

The crowd is ready for it and the announcers talk up the match as the biggest match in RAW history. Cena and Rollins begin and brawl around for a few moments before Rollins gets the upperhand. Everytime they get close to the corner Heyman is shouting for him to tag Lesnar but Rollins doesn't. In fact he seems to be making a show of not needing Lesnar. That changes when Cena comes back and makes the tag to Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe goes off on Rollins, and has him down for a two count before he barely kicks out. When the referee is busy with Cena, Rollins hits a low blow and scurries to his corner. However when he lunges for Lesnar's hand, the WWE champion pulls it back and drops down off the apron, to Heyman's glee. Rollins stares at him, flat on his stomach with wide unbelieving eyes. Heyman leads Lesnar from the ring. When Rollins realizes he's on his own, he turns around and right into Dirty Deeds.

Winners by Pinfall: John Cena and Dean Ambrose

Grade: 80

COMMERCIAL BREAK

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GE5fQkxtgiI?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

[Triple H comes down to the ring, with a wide smile. He says that for the last week he's been like a kid waiting for christmas because in this business he's done it all. He's main evented Wresltemania. He's won multiple titles. He's worked with the biggest names ever. But he's never been able to do what he is about to do. As we know, Wrestlemania season means Hall of Fame season and since he's been COO he's worked to bring the biggest names into the Hall. Bruno...Warrior....and now....our first inductee off 2015....]

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Z_dQKo_EV0c?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Grade:79

----------------

[sting and Triple H shake hands and the longtime Icon of WCW stands alone in a WWE ring for the first time in history. Some fans are bowing, others cheering their heads off. He looks honestly taken aback by the outpouring of support from the crowd but gathers himself to speak.

That's when the lights go out.

When they come back, Sting is in the ring and Bray Wyatt is behind him. Sting turns and is flattened by a bull charge. As he clears the cobwebs and begins to get up Wyatt runs and kicks him in the side of the head. As the crowd boos Wyatt is all smiles as he slowly, joyfully, picks up the dead weight of the future Hall of Famer, and gently kisses his forehead before hitting Sister Abagail. As the show goes off the air, Sting is down and not moving and Wyatt is standing over him on all fours in the spider walk.]

Following Monday’s main event which saw Brock Lesnar turn his back on Seth Rollins, we’re headed to the first Live Smackdown of 2015. How will the Future of the WWE react to the Beast’s betrayal?

On Monday we also saw Nikki Bella brutally attack her sister before her Divas title match could take place and now she’ll face her sister for the right to face AJ Lee at WrestleMania. Now that Brie has been laid to waste, is AJ next?

To close RAW Triple H made the shocking announcement that the ICON, Sting would be the first member of the Hall of Fame class of 2015. It was a moment never before seen or expected on RAW and was one of the greatest moments in WWE history until Bray Wyatt appeared attacked Sting. Why did the Sadistic Savior attack Sting and what does it mean for the rest of the WWE?

Announced Matches:

*Harper and Rowan versus Adam Rose and Zack Ryder

*Cesaro vs Justin Gabriel

*Dean Ambrose vs Kofi Kingston

Grade: 41

----------------

Luke Harper and Erick Rowan vs Adam Rose and Zach Ryder

Ryder and Rose bring a lot of energy but against two monsters that’s about the end of it. The match quickly goes off the rails as Harper and Rowan dominate and it comes to an end when they deliver a double powerbomb to Ryder.

Winners by Pinfall: Luke Harper and Erick Rowan

Grade: 48

COMMERCIAL BREAK

[backstage Paul Heyman is seen walking out of the Authority’s office with a large smirk. Through the open door we can see an angry Triple H and Stephanie.]

Grade: 84

----------------

[byron Saxton is backstage with John Cena. Cena says he isn’t surprised by what Brock Lesnar did on RAW because look who he has in his ear. A rat named Paul Heyman who will do anything to get ahead. He has no respect for anyone but Cena says he’ll beat some respect out of Lesnar at the Rumble, you can count on that.]

Grade: 76

----------------

Cesaro vs Justin Gabriel

Cesaro, fresh off his loss to Dolph Ziggler which cost him a spot in the Royal Rumble match seems to be a different person. Even more focused than usual what really stands out is his brutality. He attacks Gabriel before the bell and won’t stop even as the referee tries to separate them. Cesaro throws him over the top rope causing a disqualification.

Winner by Disqualification: Justin Gabriel

Grade:67

----------------

Cesaro returns to Gabriel, throwing forearms into his head over and over as he straddles him in the corner. The bell sounds as more officials finally pull Cesaro away but the look on his face says he may have gone over the edge.

Grade: 56

COMMERCIAL BREAK

[backstage Nikki approaches Stephanie thanking her for the shot at the Rumble and saying she won’t let her down. Stephanie says she knows she won’t but they’re interrupted by AJ who says both of them are sick. Nikki for attacking her sister and Stephanie for manipulating everyone around her. Stephanie, who by now is fed up with AJ says the Divas champ better find two friends because tonight she’ll be in a six diva tag match. AJ sees where this is headed and leaves. As Nikki smirks Stephanie tells her she better find two friends of her own and walks off.]

Grade: 78

----------------

Damien Mizdow w/The Miz and Bo Dallas w/Rusev and Lana vs Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus

Ziggler and Sheamus dominate most of the match against the understudies and lackies as Rusev, Lana, Miz, and Maryse stand outside though it’s clear the two ladies also don’t like each other. It’s not long before a Brogue Kick sends Dallas out of the ring and a Zig Zag puts Mizdow down for a three count.

Winners by Pinfall: Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler

Grade: 64

[byron Saxton catches up to Paul Heyman who is still all smiles. When asked what he and the Authority talked about Heyman says that while that is private he made it clear that in future business dealings nobody should ever presume to tell the reigning defending WWE Champion what to do.]

Grade:89

----------------

AJ Lee, Natalya, and Emma vs Nikki Bella, Alicia Fox, and Paige

Good action between the ladies who all see time in the ring. AJ finally gets the tag but Nikki who had been the legal competitor quickly tags out. As AJ is focused on her, and the referee is trying to contain Alicia and Natalya, Paige takes advantage and hits a running knee in AJ’s back which sends her headfirst into the ropes where Nikki blasts her with a forearm. Paige makes the cover for the win.

Winners by Pinfall: Nikki Bella, Paige, and Alicia Fox

Grade: 73

Grade: 77

----------------

[bray Wyatt is seen sitting in his chair in a darkened room with a lightbulb loosely rocking back and forth casting shadows across the room and himself.]

Wyatt> They call you the icon. I call you the victim. Over a decade since the fall of your mighty empire and you have waited in the shadows ready to step back into glory. But there is no glory for dark souls such as ours. There is only salvation and the only path goes through Sister Abagail and myself. Seek it at your own peril.

Grade: 76

----------------

Dean Ambrose vs Kofi Kingston w/Big E and Xavier Woods

With Big E and Woods at ringside Kofi controls the early moments with their help but the referee finally sees what’s happening and forces them to leave ringside. With the sides even Ambrose gets his second wind and puts it away by dodging Trouble in Paradise and nailing Kingston with Dirty Deeds.

Winner by Pinfall: Dean Ambrose

Grade: 71

----------------

[backstage Triple H and Stephanie are watching the end of the show. She seems to be in a great mood and when he asks why she says she’s sick and tired of Heyman being so smug. So she’s decided to put him face to face with the one man who can shut him up. On Monday, during Old School RAW, Heyman is going to be on Piper’s Pit. Triple H has a good laugh on that and says he can’t wait.

[NXT General Manager William Regal comes down to the ring and welcomes everyone to the show. He promises that 2015 will be the biggest year ever for NXT and to that end he is out there to announce that following their brutal cage match at Takeover, it seems the war is not over for Adrian Neville and Kevin Owens. Therefore next week right here on the WWE Network, we’re going to have a ladder match for the NXT Championship.]

Michael Bennett w/Maria vs Axle Keegan

If Bennett calls himself the Prodigy the name is a good fit. Using a combination of skill, talent, and finesse he controls the match, focusing mainly on attacking the neck of Keegan with a vicious streak. The end comes when he shoves Keegan chest first into the turnbuckles and when he staggers back Bennett hits a snap standing neckbreaker, like a quick rude awakening. He makes a lazy and arrogant cover for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Michael Bennett

[The NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte is about to give an interview to Jo Jo Offerman when Ashley Lane approaches and the two are nose to nose. Lane tells the champion that she’s here for one reason and that is the championship. Charlotte says any time any place but when she turns to continue the interview Lane strikes her from behind but it’s not enough to knock her down. The two women begin fighting and it takes a half dozen officials to separate them.]

Sami Zayn vs Tyson Kidd

Excellent action in this one which had the crowd very excited. Kidd controls

most of the match, never avoiding a chance to use some underhanded maneuver when the referee couldn’t see but with the crowd’s help Zayn fights back and pulls out a victory when he hits a tornado DDT.

Winner by Pinfall: Sami Zayn

Curtis Axle vs Finn Balor

A decree on the mic at the beginning of the match that 2015 will be the ‘Era of Axle’ doesn’t sit well with Balor. When the bell rings he’s all business and these two put on a pretty good show for the audience. Try as he might, Axle can’t keep Balor down and once the tide turns he can’t get out of the way of the big stomp from the top rope leading to Balor’s victory.

Winner by Pinfall: Finn Balor

It's time for Old School RAW! Two weeks away from the Royal Rumble and the entire WWE Universe of current superstars and legends will be on hand for one of the biggest nights of the year.

In one of the most anticipated confrontations in years Paul Heyman will step into Piper's Pit. The Hot Rod may be the only person alive who can outtalk the advocate of the Beast but will the Hall of Famer talk himself into dangerous territory with the WWE Champ?

While Nikki Bella's attack on her sister stopped last week's Divas title match from ever happening, this week AJ will defend against Alicia Fox. Can the champion concentrate at the task at hand with Nikki seemingly out of control?

Bray Wyatt's attack on Sting after he was announced for the Hall of Fame shocked the world. The Sadistic Savior will reportedly be at RAW but will he receive a reply from the Stinger?

Announced Matches:

*AJ Lee vs Alicia Fox for the Divas Championship

*Dolph Ziggler vs Tyler Breeze

*Dean Ambrose, The Big Show and Mark Henry vs Seth Rollins, The Miz, and Damien Mizdow

20,500 in attendance

[A video package is shown hyping the events of last week’s RAW and Smackdown including Bray Wyatt’s attack on Sting and the tensions between Brock Lesnar and the Authority before going into an Old School theme package.]

Grade: 85

Grade: 76

----------------

Goldust and Stardust vs The Usos

A good match between these two established teams. The Usos are in firm control in the early going but the bizarre brothers use some underhanded double teams to steal the momentum. Their cheating doesn’t pay off at the end though when Jey makes a blind tag, and flies off the top with a cross body block on Goldust for the win.

Winners by Pinfall: The Usos

Grade: 60

----------------

[The Usos don’t have time to celebrate when they’re attacked by Rowan and Harper. They hold their own for a few moments but the two brutes overwhelm them and put them through the Spanish Announce table with dual powerbombs.]

[backstage, Renee Young is standing by with Seth Rollins. He brags about being the 30th man in the Royal Rumble and brushes Renee’s point of fact that he won it in a match versus Daniel Bryan who’s still injured and wasn’t even in the arena. Before he can continue to pat himself on the back, he stops, coming face to face with Sheamus. Sheamus says that if he wants a fight he can have one on Old School Smackdown. Rollins says he’d be happy to, but as Sheamus leaves Rollins’ expression shows he may immediately regret that decision.]

Grade: 64

Dolph Ziggler vs Tyler Breeze w/Barbara Kelly

These two spent the entire match trying to one-up the other. Breeze is clotheslined over the ropes and Ziggler follows him. Heyman for his part is initially very cordial but every time he tries to answer Piper pulls the microphone away. By the third time Heyman is red faced and demanding to speak but Piper expertly controls the mic and just when Piper seems to be reaching his apex of entertainment….

[Lesnar comes down to the ring and by his expression he’s not here for games. He snatches the mic from Piper and hands it to Heyman who goes on a long monologue about how Piper is the past and Old School RAW is all about the past because WWE and the WWE Universe cannot comprehend the future and that future is not Seth Rollins. It’s the reigning, defending, WWE World Heavyweight Champion and tonight in this very ring BROCK LESNAR is going to demonstrate why he is the present and the future of the WWE!

Cesaro snatches him up and delivers a Neutralizer to the little bull on the concrete floor. Finally officials force him away as doctors attend to the trio.]

Grade: 39

[Renee Young is at the pre-show panel desk with Booker T, Ric Flair, and Shawn Michaels. They talk about the show thus far and focus on the Cena-Lesnar fight during the Piper’s Pit segment. [The Authority come out looking like they’re here for nothing but business.]

Stephanie McMahon>Welcome to Old School Smackdown! My husband and I are out here to make a series of announcements which we feel are in the best interest of the WWE and all of the WWE Universe and which are of course, best for business.

Triple H> That’s right Steph. First, we’re happy to announce that the second nominee for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015 will be announced this Monday and it’s one we believe has been a long time in coming.

Stephanie McMahon> Secondly, I couldn’t be more pleased than to announce that last year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will not be a one and done. In fact we will be holding it again this year at WrestleMania XXXI in Levi’s Stadium.

Triple H> And finally let’s address the elephant in the room..or more specific, hanging above our heads. Been awhile since we’ve seen that but tonight we have a main event which will pit Sheamus against the Future of the WWE Seth Rollins. That match will take place inside that old school steel cage.

Stephanie McMahon> But that’s not all.

Triple H> You’re right Steph, to ensure a fair competitive environment, the Director of Operations Kane will be the one working the door, and J and J Security will be in charge of making sure there is absolutely no interference. We hope you all enjoy the show.

Good back and forth between these two and Naomi appears to be setting Nikki up for a fall when the WWE’s Deadly Diva sidesteps and floors her with a brutal forearm, knocking her silly. Nikki, smirking widely, picks up Naomi and delivers the Rack Attack for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Nikki Bella

Grade: 65

----------------

[Nikki goes to the outside, and pulls a small pipe, like she used on her sister, from beneath the ring. She slides back in and begins circling Naomi, but suddenly Cameron comes running down to the ring and Nikki flees. COMMERCIAL BREAK

[backstage, Rusev and Lana are alone. Lana says that Dolph Ziggler learned the hard way that anyone who gets in Rusev’s way will be crushed. Grade: 68

----------------

Ryback vs Bray Wyatt

This match has no finesse and no technical merit. What it does have is plenty of hard hitting brutality and these two waste no time in trying to destroy each other by seeing who can deliver the most devastating attack. It quickly spills to the outside and when both refuse to listen to the referee’s count he reaches ten and calls for the bell.

Draw: Double Countout

Grade: 62

----------------

[As the bell continues to ring, Wyatt and Ryback show no signs of stopping their attempt to destroy one another until officials flood the area and separate them.].

COMMERCIAL BREAK

[The RAW Rebound is shown reminding the audience of the fight that ensued after Piper’s Pit between WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and John Cena]

Grade: 84

----------------

[Paul Heyman is backstage alone.]

Heyman> Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman and I am the advocate for the reigning defending WWE World Heavyweight Champion, BROCK LESNAR. Last night I was the guest, if you wish to call it that, on PIper's Pit where I was abused, insulted, and bullied and every one of you thought it was funny. Do you know who didn't think it was funny? BROCK LESNAR didn't think it was funny and he was about to defend my honor when John Cena attcked him from behind like a coward.

It's clear why Mr. Cena would do that. He knows he has zero chance of beating my client at the Royal Rumble so he wanted to injure him. Now this Monday night there is a contract signing and if WWE history is any marker, those never end well. So I'm here to announce that on Monday I will be signing that contract for my client because he will not be on RAW next week. He won't be on RAW the week after that. In fact the next time you see the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be when you PAY to see him at the Royal Rumble.

A healthy, hungry and angry BEAST. I pity you Mr. Cena.

Grade: 91

----------------

Adam Rose vs Cesaro

We’re treated to a Hall of Famer at the announcer’s table as Lita joins Renee Young and Alex Riley. They chat about her career and the match as it begins. Cesaro’s mean streak continues and though the match with Rose getting little to no offense in as the Swiss Superman puts an early end to the party with a Neutralizer.

Winner by Pinfall: Cesaro

Grade: 62

----------------

[Following the match Cesaro rolls to the outside and grabs a chair from the ring keeper and is about to lay out Rose when Lita jumps up and gets in the ring between them. She calmly asks Cesaro to calm down and just leave instead of using the weapon. He drops the chair, after considering what she says and nods. But when she turns to check on Rose, he grabs her and quickly delivers a Neutralizer to Lita, leaving her in a heap as officials rush to the ring as we go to break.]

[seth Rollins is backstage with Byron Saxton. He says that Sheamus made mistake number one. He looked before he leaped and now thanks to the Authority he’s got no hope tonight. But on top of that he’s going to get hurt bad tonight and that means he can kiss the Royal Rumble goodbye.]

Grade: 56

----------------

The Big Show vs The Miz w/Maryse and Damien Mizdow

The Miz starts off fast, but it doesn’t take long for the size of the Big Show to cut off the ring and from there the Miz is selling left and right as he’s dominated by the world’s largest athlete. The Miz puts up a last ditch fight but the Big Show catches him by the throat off the top rope and delivers a choke slam for the win.

Steel Cage Match

Seth Rollins vs Sheamus

A very good matchup between these two and it doesn’t take long for Sheamus to use the cage to his advantage. He batters Rollins from corner to corner before hitting White Noise. As he tries to climb over the top, J&J Security, armed with chairs keep him at bay. He then tries to go for the door but Kane won’t open it.

This gives Rollins the chance he needs to attack from behind and as soon as he’s near the door, Kane opens it and offers a hand to help him out but Sheamus stops him, nearly pulling Kane into the ring. The door is shut again and the match continues with J&J helping whenever possible until…

<iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/EwHdyAw0NYg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Ambrose comes down with a chair in hand and quickly dispatches J&J, then Kane. Rollins is wide eyed, taking his focus off Sheamus and that costs him as it gives the Irishman the time he needs and when Rollins turns around, he walks right into a Brogue Kick. Ambrose opens the door and motions for Sheamus who walks right out of the cage.

Winner by Escape: Sheamus

Ashley Lane vs Bayley

Lane controls the match from the onset. Toying with Bayley and taunts and mocks her but is surprised when Bayley fight back, rocking her with a series of forearms but a quick knee to the gut ends that rally and Land ends things with a vicious DDT.

Winner by Pinfall: Ashley Lane

Grade: 57

[No sooner does the bell ring than NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte runs down to confront Lane. Before she can get in the ring, a host of officials block her which just eggs on Lane who taunts the champ to fight through them but Charlotte’s cooler head prevails.]

Grade: 63

---------------

Bad News Barrett and the Ascension vs Sami Zayn, Hideo Itami, and Finn Balor

Fast paced action and hard hitting power moves sum up the match. The heroes control with quick tags but eventually the Ascension take control and keep it through underhanded double teams behind the referee’s back. That is, until Balor and Itami send them packing over the top with a double dropkick and then follow it up with twin running dives over the top. That leaves Barrett and Zayn who are by now the legal men. Zayn rocks Barret with a series of strikes but when he springboards off the rope, Barrett catches him with the Bullhammer and puts him down for the 1,2,3.

Winners by Pinfall: Bad News Barrett and the Ascension

Grade: 55

Maria> There is nothing he cannot do in HIS ring.

Ladder Match

NXT Championship

Adrian Neville © vs Kevin Owens

These two go at it right from the start and its not long before the action turns brutal with attacks on the outside. When the ladders come into play it gets worse but Neville hangs in there, stopping Owens from climbing up to the title belt. Finally he pulls Owens off the ladder and stuns him with a high kick. Neville goes on the offense eventually suplexing Owens from the ring over the top to the outside in a heap. Neville sets his sights on his belt and begins to climb when NXT General Manager William Regal who had been watching from ringside suddenly slips into the ring and just as Neville is about to touch the belt, Regal shoves the ladder, sending Neville to the outside floor.

Owens is back in the ring, favoring his left shoulder and just smiles but Regal does not smile back. Owens points to the ladder and Regal sets it up for him before leaving the ring. Slowly and methodically, Kevin Owens climbs the ladder and claims the title.

Winner and new NXT World Champion: Kevin Owens

Grade: 67

As if that wasn't bad enough, he also had a run in with Jerry Lawler the day of his failed test which certainly didn't help his cause. Like Jack Swagger before him, stupid decisions cost him a solid PPV check and in this case, many of them.

*Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan have both been medically cleared to return to action.

*J Bronson, Sylvester Lefort and Judas Devlin are both on the market as their contracts expired.

*There are strong indications that the New Day may be on their way out.

*Expect to see several fresh faces in WWE over the coming months.

*At this point WWE and the Undertaker have not spoken about any plans for WrestleMania.

*Two weeks remain until the Royal Rumble and this week will see the official contract signing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship between Brock Lesnar and John Cena. Heyman has promised that Lesnar will not be there in person and he will sign as his proxy but can the Advocate of the Beast ever be trusted to keep his word?

*Last week Dolph Ziggler defeated Tyler Breeze by disqualification when Rusev interfered. This week we’ll see the rematch. But with the Show Off still sporting a sore neck from the Accolade is he ripe for the picking?

*After embarrassing Seth Rollins on Smackdown, Deam Ambrose has been slated to face the Director of Operations this Monday Night. But as the Lunatic Fringe prepares for fire and brimstone, the Future of the WWE lurks in the shadows ready for revenge of his own.
