Chris Benoit has been at war with Raven and his Flock, but before he can get to Raven he has to go through Raven's enforcer: Saturn. Saturn has put his Television title on the line against Chris Benoit.

Four of the best female wrestlers in the United States step into the ring to crown the new WCW Women's Champion!

It's the Battle for the Control of Monday Nitro when Interim-Commisioner JJ Dillon's hand selected representative Bret Hart takes on the New World Order's Scott Hall. If Bret Hart wins, Nitro is officially WCW territory, but if Hall wins, Eric Bischoff reigns supreme.

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e322/VenomousPrime/ReachingStarrs/BretHart96.jpg VS. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e322/VenomousPrime/ReachingStarrs/ScottHall972.jpg

The second to last match of the night is for the ever prestigious WCW United States Championship. Representing the New World Order is current champion Curt Hennig. Hennig was originally scheduled to face Ric Flair at Starrcade, but him and the nWo made sure Flair didn't make it. Diamond Dallas Page has stepped up to reclaim the US Championship for WCW.

Finally, in the main event we have the Silent Guardian of WCW Sting facing off against the leader of the New World Order and current "nWo" World Heavyweight Champion Hollywood Hogan. The world has been waiting for this match for almost a year and a half. Can Sting capture the World Heavyweight Championship?

OOC Blurb: As you can see, my Starrcade 1997 is slightly different than the real event. There were kayfabe reasons behind every match made for the show here and I tried to address them. Any predictions and questions are more than welcome. This is a story I've wanted to tell for a long time and never had the motivation. Matt Shannon's new diary has inspired me to finally do this. I'll more than likely post Starrcade on Tuesday Night.

<p>Great show dude! Based on the title I (idiotically) assumed that this was Starrcade '98 and I was wondering if Sting fought Hogan again the following year. I probably would have changed my predictions if I wasn't an idiot <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Mike Tenay: Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the first WCW Monday Nitro of 1998!

Dusty Rhodes: Dadday, Starrcade was off the proverbial chain last night. The nWo seems to be on the verge of defeat.

Bobby Heenan: I've known Hogan longer than anyone, he's a snake. If anyone can come back from last night it's him. Oh crap...here he comes...

Hollywood Hogan and Randy Savage make their way to the ring looking less than pleased. Mean Gene Okerlund joins them in the ring to try and get a few words.

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e322/VenomousPrime/ReachingStarrs/GeneOkerlund.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e322/VenomousPrime/ReachingStarrs/HollywoodHogan97.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e322/VenomousPrime/ReachingStarrs/RandySavage981.jpg

Okerlund: Hogan...Savage, last night we witnessed almost every member of your little clique finally get what's coming to them and tonight, Interim-President JJ Dillon has booked you two nWo Mega Powers against Lex Luger and Roddy Piper. Do you two have anything at all to say?

Hogan rips the microphone out of Okerlund's hand and shoves him aside.

Hogan: Get out of here Scheme Gene. Last night, crimes against an Immortal took place. The referee who ended the match wasn't even supposed to be out there! I demand my rematch with Sting and I want it now!

Savage: Hollywood, Hollywood...You already got your shot, I'm stepping up to take the belt back.

Piper: HOGAN! SAVAGE! You seem to be overlooking two very pissed off obstacles.

Piper and Luger slide in the ring and the four men brawl until security breaks them up.

The other members of the 'final four' were Juventud Guerrera, Disco Inferno and Alex Wright, with Juventud Guerrera being the final elimination. Juventud Guerrera got the most eliminations over the course of the match.

JJ Dillon: Eric, I'm glad you could make it. We need to discuss your future here in World Championship Wrestling. If I could simply terminate your contract, I would, but it seems you made sure that wasn't a possibility when you negotiated your contract. Smart man. You and the New World Order have made our lives a living hell the last year and a half and it's about time you get what's coming to you. Remember how you broke into the business? You're returning to commentary...but not on Monday Nitro. You'll be on Saturday Night from now on with Mike and Bobby.

Eric Bischoff: That's ridiculous! You can't do this to me.

JJ Dillon: It's already been done. Report to Tenay on Saturday.

Bischoff then storms out of JJ's office.

Rick Rude: Page, you got lucky last night. This isn't about WCW vs nWo, not this time. This is about taking you out for good.

Curt Hennig: Don't let our anger fool you, we are focused. I get a rematch Page, and I will not lose. You caught me on a rare off night. Next time, you will not be so lucky.

Match Type: Fatal Four Way Number 1 Contender Tag Team Match

Time Limit: 15 Minutes

Referee: Charles Robinson

At Ringside: Jackie Moore(Harlem Heat), Raven & Saturn(The Flock)

With the Number One Contender Status on the line for The Steiner Brothers' Tag Team Championships, four of WCW's Top Tag Teams went toe to toe in a showcase of tag team wrestling at it's finest. The Flock was eliminated first when Booker T pinned Sick Boy following a Towering Inferno. Public Enemy was the next team eliminated when Johnny Grunge tapped out to Dean Malenko's Texas Cloverleaf. With only Harlem Heat and Benoit & Malenko left, the four fan favorites went full tilt and didn't hold anything back. Benoit picked up the win when he landed a Diving Headbutt on Stevie Ray for the pinfall.

Ending Maneuver: Diving Headbutt(Benoit to Stevie Ray)

Ending TIme: 12:55

The cameras once again transition to the nWo locker room where the four members of nWo Leadership are discussing Starrcade

Bischoff: Hall, this is all YOUR fault. If you wouldn't have lost to Bret Hart this wouldn't even be happening.

Hall: Hey, Big Man over here is the one that cost me the match. I had things under control until he got involved.

Nash: Scott, you know damn well it was an accident. Plus, are you forgetting I'm the only one here who won their match? Not only did I win, but I put the Giant out of commission. That's one less thorn in our side.

Hogan: Everyone needs to shut the hell up. Tonight we'll knock Piper and Luger out, and then we need to figure out how to insure I win my rematch with Sting.

Hall: Just remember Hollywood, I'm next in line. I won World War 3 in November, so I don't care if Stinger is champ or you are, at SuperBrawl next month I'm gunning for the gold.

Mean Gene: Mr. Guerrero, I'd like to get a few words with you about what happened at Starrcade.

Eddy: Rey and I have so much history. We've been friends. We've been enemies. Hell, our match at Halloween Havoc in October is already being considered one of the best matches in WCW's history. We always tear the house down when we step in the ring and Starrcade was no different. I still have a rematch and I at Souled Out I'm cashing it in.

Mean Gene: In case you missed it, Chris Jericho won a Number One Contender Battle Royal earlier for a chance to meet Rey Mysterio Jr at Souled Out for the Cruiserweight Championship.

Eddy: Then I guess I'm going to have to talk to JJ and get the match changed.

As Eddy walks off camera, The Outsiders walk into frame and flank Gene...

Mean Gene: Oh for god's sake, what do you two want?

Nash: Green Gene, Scotty and I just needed some mic time and you just happened to be the only guy with a microphone back here.

Hall: Big Kev and I may be a little agitated with each other, but there's two Canadian assholes we need to address.

Nash: Bret and his little Nugget of a brother Owen, you two are causing a rift here in the New World Order. I just took a seven foot monster out, what chance do you two ham and eggers have?

Instead of the music of the nWo playing over the PA system, all we hear is static. The arena goes dark except a lone spotlight aimed above the TurnerTron. The only thing we can see is the WCW World Heavyweight Champion: Sting.

Instead of speaking, Sting remains silent. In one hand he raises the World Championship and with the other, he points his trademark black baseball bat at Hollywood Hogan and Randy Savage who look on in fear...
