Los Academia

Anyone who has watched the sport of lucha libre for any length of time are familiar with the men Decimalo and Hexx. For twenty plus years the duo have been together working for various promotions since 1993. During the late 90's and early 2000's it is easy to argue they were second only to Dos Phoenix in terms of skill and popularity. All of that changed in 2005 where the team seemed to suffer and lose popularity before eventually being released from OLLIE in 2007.

Since then the duo have continued to wrestle, but mostly in small independent shows scattered across Mexico where their name can still draw a few extra fans. Age also seems to be catching up with Decimalo who has been making less appearances over the past two years while Hexx has been seen more active as a singles wrestler due to this. Being he is fourty-five with a twenty-seven year career under his belt many would not be surprised the interview he has scheduled online with Total Extreme Wrestling is to announce his retirement. It is expected his good friend and long time partner Hexx will be with him as well to wish his friend best of luck in his post wrestling career.

Already speculation has been he will rejoin OLLIE as a road agent or perhaps find similar work at MPWF. Others say he has something else planned such as opening his own school in order to pass on his skills to a new generation. In due time all these rumors will be put to rest and the man himself will let all know his intentions.

OOC: On a side note those who read my diaries may notice GSW is back. After getting jostled by real life and the holidays I am going to be back and try to work at a slower pace I think overall. I had debated bringing my SWF diary back as well, but decided to go with this small idea I have had for awhile as a side project while I continue to mostly concentrate on GSW and let me play around with Mexico which is still one of my favorite regions in TEW. To those who read my old NYCW diary the format will be similar to that. Hope you all enjoy things.

The Decision

The following his the transcribed interview that Total Extreme Wrestling has had with Decimalo and Hexx. Below details the announcement Decimalo had made on what he wishes to do with his career.

TEW: You requested an interview because you wanted to announce something to all of your wrestling fans.

Decimalo: Not just fans of Los Academia, but to all fans of lucha libre. I broke into this business that I love twenty-seven years ago and I have no regrets on what I have accomplished. I would say the past two years I have found it harder to perform to my liking and while I can still wrestle I decided I wanted to help the business.

TEW: So are the rumors true? You wish to start your own wrestling school or you plan on becoming a road agent?

Decimalo: No, today I would like all to know that I have found out the best way I could help keep lucha libre grow and continue working in the business I love. I would like to announce Hexx and I have both put together some savings to invest in a new company. I like to call it El Futuro del la Lucha.

TEW: A new company? When and why did you decide this?

Decimalo: A few months back I had a long talk with Hexx. For years we have always done things together and have become brothers. We both decided to create something for veterans like us could help younger luchadors by allowing them to practice in front of crowds physically and verbally in preparation of moving on to bigger, better things.

TEW: So in a way you are doing a wrestling school, but organizing events for the talents under a company banner?

Decimalo: I would like to think less a wrestling school. There has been talk in taking raw recruits that look to enter the world of lucha libre, but right now we will be looking to sign those that have already had some training. I look to mix these younger luchadors with established veterans that are like us. Men that work small shows and nothing more, but have some desire to pass on our knowledge to a new generation. Not only that but we could be a haven for those that have had a few years experience, but just need that extra bit of exposure to help bring them to the next level.

TEW: This all sounds very interesting. Do you have anyone signed yet?

Decimalo: Not yet, but soon we will start to contact people on the list we made and try to see who we can bring in and keep things cost effective. The goal is to try and break even so we will keep things small, but there are certain extra costs we are keeping in mind. We want to produce shows to either be released on a format like DVD or available for purchase for online download so we will find an announce team. I also would like to bring in a few managers.

TEW: I guess the next big question is when do you plan to hold your first show?

Decimalo: We need some time to sign talent and set up a venue to where we can tape. We look to maybe run shows monthly to start. If costs end up being too high we might have to drop that idea. I hope to have our first show sometime in January, 2014.

TEW: I must admit this was not the announcement I expected you to make. You do not feel there is an oversaturation as far as companies go here in Mexico? There already are five well established ones so it might be hard to get noticed.

Decimalo: We are not looking to be a big company. We do not want to be even be a small one like CILL or EMLL. We just want to be a place to help people get signed by companies like that. If we get popular then that is just a bonus.

TEW: Well thank you for the interview. I and the rest of the staff here at Total Extreme Wrestling hope you give us an update on first show and roster very soon.

Decimalo: You all will be the first to know of any changes.

It seems Decimalo has met his goal to hold a show in January and EFL will debut on Wednesday, Week 2 of 2014. The first show will be held at Bar Jaurez in front of a small crowd. The show itself is being called Camino del Guerro and will feature the start of a fourteen man tournament that sees every man getting a shot at the Campeón de México title that will be rewarded to the winner. Two men have randomly been given a bye and will not be wrestling that night, but six other matches will take place to decide the other six spots of the quarter finals. The card can be found below.

Dating Rumors

It seems like it didn't take long for love to be found among the EFL roster. Sources say Lucia Valencia and La Bestia Púrpura apparently hit things off well right off the bat and are already dating one another before the company even has their first show. Lucia is the younger sibling of MPWF star Angel de Mexico while La Bestia Púrpura was trained by Manuel Prieto who works for OLLIE. If this is just a short term romance or the start of a long relationship remains to be seen, but rumors state the two are hardly ever seen apart at the moment.

Taped on Wednesday, Week 2, January 2014 at Bar Juarez

The banners are sparse and the announce table isn't anything flashy. It just has two microphones set up for the announcers. The ring seems like where all the money has gone since it seems to be on the newer side of the spectrum. In a way it might be telling the fans what takes place inside of that ring is what is most important.

The show starts with a well dressed man coming out and taking a wireless microphone from the announce desk before getting in the ring.

Padre Carrasco: What? You think I am the ring announcer? I see I am not in the smartest of company if that is the case. For those of you who do not know my name is Padre Carrasco and I am a man that has an eye for talent. I represent the best of the best and even a filthy little company like this managed to have someone that caught my eye. He is a diamond in the rough and with me at his side he will be the next big thing. I give to you....HURRICANE HIIIIIIIIIIIIIGOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRR RRRRRRROOOOOOSSSSAAAAA!

http://i.imgur.com/X5AxPiS.jpg

Clad in a boxing robe, Hurricane Higor Rosa struts to the ring with a smug look on his face as he moves to stand next to his agent.

Padre Carrasco: This man quit the boxing world because it wasn't enough of a challenge. Now here he is to dominate another sport and leave his mark. His left hook will be legendary by the time he reaches the top and you all will be the first to see how truly devastating it is. Bring out the first victim!

Hurricane Higor Rosa with Padre Carrasco vs Fray Valiente Jr

Rosa brings a unique style to the promotion that is filled with luchadors. He is a straight up brawler that plays to his boxing background. Both men work a somewhat short match that allows each man to showcase what they can do in the ring before Hurricane Higor Rosa catches Valiente with a powerful left hook that knocks Fray out cold.

Agueda Alonso stands with Scorpion in what looks to be one of the back rooms of Bar Juarez where most of the background noise is muffled so both can be heard clearly.

Agueda Alonso: Scorpion, you were one of the two men that drew the bye and thus you don't have to compete tonight. Are you pleased with the result?

Scorpion: I would be totally stoked to be part of the first event and be in that ring, but I would be an idiot to say I wasn't pleased in getting a bye. But like, man, I got to keep focus. I still have to win three matches and I am still not sold that Hexx randomly got the other bye.

Agueda Alonso: You are accusing the ownership of cheating?

Scorpion: I don't know to be sure, but something is fishy. I guess at the same time both would have gotten the bye if it was rigged, right? Anyways, I am looking forward to scout the competition and chill out tonight. Next month is when it is time to get to work and become the first champion.

Cyclon vs Mascara Roja Jr

Unlike the first match this is much more a traditional lucha libre match as both men work a slightly longer match than the first as well. Both men just seem to click and the match is better because of it. Roja puts up a good fight an even gets a close pinfall at one point even if it was because he was cheating. The veteran Cyclon proves he can still keep up with the younger guys and he hits the Sky Twister Press to pick up the win.

El Hijo Del Neutron vs El Hijo Del Águila with Lucia Valencia

Both masked men are part of a family legacy with El Hijo Del Águila having perhaps one of the bigger burdens to do well given who his father and grandfather are. Both also show they are still learning and are given just enough time to showcase their abilities without things becoming disjointed. Neutron looks close to winning when El Hijo Del Águila reverses what looks like a suplex attempt, kicks Neutron in the gut then hits him with an axe kick he calls the Super Scythe.

Once again focus shifts to the back as Agueda Alonso has Hexx with her this time around.

Agueda Alonso: Hexx, you get the night off due to the bye. I was talking to Scorpion earlier and he feels perhaps you and Decimalo put things in your favor to get a bye as well.

Hexx: Like I need a bye to win this tournament. Instead of thinking we would do such a thing maybe he should instead be counting his blessings that he gets eliminated next month instead of today. Agueda, men like me and Decimalo don't need to rig random drawings to win championships. We win because we are skilled and smart. Something Scorpion lacks in both departments. All I say is don't be surprised when me and Decimalo are the final two men in this tournament. Afterall, we are just that damn good.

Jose Flamenco vs Sunburst

Jose is another one that stands out from the roster due to his style being different. He does incorporate lucha libre, but he also seems more focused on being quirky and draw people in with his persona. That being said he is also the one on the roster that might be the closest to breaking the somewhat PG barrier that the promotion gives off. The way he will move his hands when locked up with Sunburst to places that throw the young luchador off to the somewhat questionable gestures he makes at times. Sunburst just can't seem to overcome the strange tactics that Jose uses and the masked wrestler eventually snaps and hits Jose with a chair on the outside and gets himself DQ'd.

Once again things shift focus to the back where Agueda Alonso this time has the parter of Hexx and owner of the company, Decimalo.

Agueda Alonso: In the main event you ta-

Decimalo cuts off Alonso and he pauses a moment before speaking.

Decimalo: I hear people questioning if I am past my prime and saying I am putting myself in the main event because I am in denial and that I should retire. I guess that just means tonight I make an example of Vincent Romero. I am going to twist him in ways the human body isn't meant to bend. I am going to break his legs. Not only to show that I am the best, but because I can do such things and no one is going to dare stop me.

La Bestia Púrpura vs Payaso Jr

Payaso just seems to give off an aura of being likeable. The fans seem interested in his antics as he perhaps should be more serious when facing off against someone like La Bestia Púrpura. For being so young, Bestia has skills that even some veterans would envy. The combination of his ring prowess and Payaso's entertaining antics make this one of the better matches of the night. La Bestia Púrpura eventually pulls out the win in the end after hitting Payaso with a Beast Bomb.

Things shift to the back one last time as Agueda Alonso speaks with Vincent Romero.

Agueda Alonso: Vincent, you are about to wrestle in the main event against a very skilled Decimalo who has some very morbid plans on what he wants to do with you.

Vincent Romero: I respect Decimalo for the legacy he has created and for the fact he can still wrestle on such a level for his age, but I cannot respect the fact he is arrogant and he feels the need to threaten people. I can understand in the way. I am not exactly young myself and when you start to get older you start to have doubts. Some of us just handle it better than others and I don't feel the need to cripple someone to feel good about myself. All I want is to have a good match and move on in this tournament. I just want to show I still have gas left in the tank as well.

Decimalo vs Vincent Romero

The two veterans lock up and it is no surprise that the main event ends up being the match of the night. There are times where Decimalo shows his age, but for the most part keeps up with Romero and is consistently close to winning the match only for Vincent to kick out at the last moment several times. Frustration builds for Decimalo and it helps in letting Romero mount a comeback and eventually he gets Decimalo downed in the center of the ring and puts him in a Mexican Deathlock. Decimalo fights and tries his best to break the hold. He tries to make it to the ropes, but can't and eventually has to tap.

Winner: Vincent Romero

Rating: 38

The show ends with Vincent celebrating and an angry, injured Decimalo glaring at him from outside the ring.

Final Rating: 37

OOC: Just trying to keep the show simple and not too flashy. In a way it matches what the promotion is. I kind of see it in a way as a Lucha version of MAW. A few veterans helping the newer guys improve and find work elsewhere. Overall I am pleased with the grades as well. They will just continue to improve as the talent starts to gain more pop and their skills increase. Also pleased to find some positive chemistry in one of the matches. Cyclon and Mascara Roja Jr had Great chemistry so it will be a match that has to be revisted down the road for sure. Hope you all enjoyed!

EFL Announces Next Show

The first show for EFL went off without a hitch. The small group of fans that attended all said the company kept things simple and presented characters that weren't too complex overall and concentrated more on the ring action than anything else. Bar Juarez looks like it will be bringing back the promotion and offering EFL a home for the foreseeable future. It is unknown in the end of the company profited or not as Decimalo and Hexx have both been rather mum on finances. The next show will be known as Una Mas Vez and the card can be seen below.

My client impressed and showed he has the most devastating left hook in all of Mexico and perhaps the world! Hurricane Higor Rosa with Padre Carrasco vs El Hijo Del Águila with Lucia Valencia

The match up ends up being rather even. Padre might have Rosa's ego so bloated at this point he perhaps underestimated his opponent. Padre barks orders to his client while Lucia is much more calm in cheering on Aguila. The latter gets on a good roll and he looks to claim victory when he comes flying off the top turnbuckle only to get blasted in mid air by a big left hook from Rosa. Jose tries to get under Scorpion's skin much like he did to Sunburst last month, but Scorpion is a bit more battle tested and not so easily frustrated and caught off guard. A good back and forth affair with Jose showing a more aggressive side as things progress and he realizes his tricks aren't working as he hoped. Scorpion delivers a big forearm to Jose's chin that dazes him and the masked wrestler picks up Jose and delivers a Scorp Bomb to get the victory.

In the back room we get our first Agueda Alonso sighting. With her right now stands two men that met defeat last month, Payaso Jr and Fray Valiente Jr.

Agueda Alonso: A tough break for both of you last month, but now you both look to bounce back with a victory. Do you both feel prepared despite you have never teamed together?

Fray Valiente Jr: I feel as prepared as the other team. It isn't like they have experience working together either. Payaso Jr and I feel like we put a lot of work into preparing for this match and it will pay off.

Payaso Jr: Those boys may think we are a joke, but I think we will be the ones laughing at the end. The two of us are here to prove ourselves and in the end they will be the ones that will need to learn out to turn their frown upside-down.

Payaso Jr honks his noise at Agueda and he chuckles before twirling off. Valiente just grins and gives Agueda a helpless shrug before going to join his partner.

El Hijo Del Neutron and Mascara Roja Jr vs Payaso Jr and Fray Valiente Jr

While both teams have never worked with one another prior, Neutron and Roja come off as a duo that have at least spent a few matches working together. Their timing and movements are more crisp than their opponents and if they are willing to put more work into things they could become a good tag team. This doesn't mean Payaso and Valiente end up being pushovers. All four men get some time to strut their stuff. Payaso and Neutron end up taking one another out at one point and Roja capitalizes on a downed Valiente by leaping off the top rope and delivering a double foot stomp he calls the Mushroom Stomp. Neutron keeps Payaso from being able to get in and break up the pin.

Two veterans lock up and deliver a solid match for the amount of time given. Not that it was short, but it also felt they could really have used another few minutes. Even so for an event so small there will be very few complaints at getting a match like this. With a combined forty years experience these two can still go even though both are probably in the final years of their career. Hexx manages to get a low blow in when the referee is a bit distracted and he manages a quick roll up and defeats Cyclon.

To the back once again where Agueda Alonso has the winners of tonight's tag match, El Hijo Del Neutron and Mascara Roja Jr.

Agueda Alonso: Congratulations on the win tonight. How does it feel to pick up your first victory?

Mascara Roja Jr starts to speak, but a more excitable and worked up El Hijo Del Neutron takes the microphone and speaks.

El Hijo Del Neutron: How does it feel? It feels great of course! But I am looking to do more than beat up a clown and his doofus sidekick. This is the start of something beautiful and that beautiful thing is me.....and my partner of course. We shall team again, but I want you all on notice. I am the real star here and it is only a matter of time before everyone realizes that.

This match isn't as good as many might expect. For someone with talent like Sunburst and the experience like Decimalo could easily keep up with or surpass the previous match, but this suffered for some reason. The two just couldn't get their timing down and there were a few botches that often came at the worst possible time. The two manage to salvage the match the best as they can and Decimalo puts Sunburst away in the end with a nice looking senton off the top rope.

For the final time of the night the back room his visted and this time Agueda Alonso has with her one of the participants of tonight's main event, La Bestia Purpura.

Agueda Alonso: Tonight you go in against one of the favorites to win this tournament when you face Vincente Romero. How confident are you going into this match?

La Bestia Purpura just stares at the woman as if she is insane asking him such a question and he actually feints lunging at her which causes her to jump back and keep her distance.

La Bestia Purpura: *Growl* I know fear when I smell it and just like you Vincente Romero reeks of it. Last month he may feel like he is a predator, but tonight he will find out he is just prey to the true top predator in this company. *Hiss* La Bestiaaaaa Purpuraaaaa.

La Bestia Purpura vs Vincente Romero

Purpura jumps his opponent as he gets in the ring and he shows a very aggressive style that keeps him control over most of the match. Vincente shows flashes of comebacks at times, but for the most part is on the receiving end of a beating. The two easily put on the match of the night and seem to have the small crowd fully into it by the time it reaches the end. Purpura stalks around the ring looking ready to put Vincente away for good, but Romero looks to have been faking how badly hurt he was and tugs a surprised Purpura down into the middle of the ring and puts on the Mexican Deathlock. Purpura struggles, but can't reach the ropes and the beast soon taps out.

Winner: Vincente Romero

Rating: 45

For a second month in a row Vincente Romero stands in the ring victorious as La Bestia Purpura rolls out of the ring and slinks off to lick his wounds.

Final Rating: 42

OOC: Not sure what really happened with the interview segments this time around. They scored better than the first show and I didn't change much up. It is just weird Padre is the best talker and he pulled a lower score than any of the Alonso segments. I won't complain though as I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Mascara Roja Jr and El Hijo del Neutron got good chemistry working together so I am sure they will be featured more as a team as time goes on. Decimalo vs Sunburst likewise got bad chemistry. Nothing too terrible there since who knows how long Decimalo will remain on the active roster before he decides to retire.

I'm wondering why you're using regular matches instead of the traditional Lucha matches. Just a question I had.

Actually have been using them. I think it is more me often forgetting until halfway through the write up or later that I had been forgetting it is the best two out of three. Honestly the results aren't too affected as I don't think a single one has ended 2-1 yet. I will probably go back and edit at some point.

Same thing that happens on my Mexico save. 2 falls in a roll is the norm.

La Bestia Purpura vs Fray Valiente Jr

Purpura continues to show he is by far the best of the younger talents at least when it comes to being in the ring. Sure he has flaws that need to be worked on and he needs to show more personality perhaps, but it shows he learned a lot from his time under Manuel Prieto. Valiente does his best to try and keep up, but Purpura overwhelms him and gets a relatively easy two falls in a row, the final coming from him delivering a brutal Beast Bomb.

Padre Carrasco is out next and he leads his client, Hurricane Higor Rosa, to the ring. The rather smug boxer turned wrestler taunts the crowd a bit as both he and Padre get a good laugh out of it before Padre asks for a microphone and speaks to the small audience.

Padre Carrasco: Two down and two to go! That is just how many left hooks my client needs to get what he wants, the Campeon de Mexico title. Many say he is facing his toughest match yet, but all I see is another man that is going to fall victim to the next big thing in all of Mexico. What do you think, Champ?

Hurricane Higor Rosa: I just see another man that hides behind a mask. That mask won't protect you from my left hook. When it connects you will just be another victim.

Padre Carrasco: Bring out the next victim. Tell him come face the greatest asset to this company. Hurrrrrrrricaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiigoooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrr Rrrrrrroooooooooosssssaaaaaa!

Rosa goes to jump Scorpion, but he gets caught off guard by the quickness of the masked man. The experience that Scorpion has is paying off and he actually has control for a good amount of time until that left hook hits him from out of nowhere and lays him out. Higor gets the pin with ease and much like the last two times he just goes for a second straight, but Scorpion was playing possum and gets a rollup to tie the match up at 1-1. Rosa is furious and he pounds away at Scorpion. The frustration is his undoing and he misses with another attempted left hook and gets a big kick to the chin before he gets hefted and nailed with the Scorp Bomb. Scorpion gets the second fall as Padre is livid outside.

To the back things go where Agueda Alonso is standing with Vincente Romero.

Agueda Alonso: Vincente, we now know who one of the participants are in the final match for the Campeon de Mexico title. You have a chance to be the second man in. What are your thoughts?

Vincente Romero: It hasn't been easy. Decimalo and La Bestia Purpura are both tough opponents. Then to top it all off now I face Hexx. It almost feels like they want to see if they can break me, but I can thrive under this pressure. Facing the best will just make me that much better. I feel pretty good about my chances and tonight I will take down another obstacle in my way. Hexx, watch out. I'm coming for you.

Jose Flamenco, Decimalo and Mascara Roja Jr vs Cyclon, El Hijo Del Aguila, and Payaso Jr with Lucia Valencia

Things are chaotic at the start until the referee manages to get most of the bodies to stand on the apron and let the match officially start. For the time given each man is allowed to have some time and show their stuff. Decimalo was more telling his team mates what to do instead of getting in while Cyclon seems to be more of a team player to the two younger partners he is with. When Decimalo comes in it is off a blind tag when Payaso is going at it with Mascara Roja Jr. Decimalo gets his team a pinfall and the 1-0 lead. The other team tries to even things up, but they just can't seem to get momentum and take down someone for a three count. To top it off Flamenco soon starts to flirt with Lucia while Aguila is in the ring. He sees it and it is a good enough distraction he gets taken down by Mascara Roja Jr who quickly follows up with a Mushroom Stomp and a second pinfall.

With Aguila down Jose Flamenco seems less wanting to celebrate, but instead try to slink over to Lucia who keeps backing away to keep her distance. Aguila finally recovers enough to see this and leaps out of the ring and lands on top of Jose. The two start to fight as the partners for both men manage to separate the pair and pull them to the back.

El Hijo Del Neutron vs Sunburst

Neutron is grandstanding at the start and gets caught with a quick rollup and Sunburst picks up a quick first fall. Neutron gets more serious after that and the two fight to get more momentum. El Hijo Del Neutron evens things up when he stuns Sunburst and hits him with a Neutron Bomb. Sunburst battles back and gets several near falls. He launches himself over the top rope and hits a cross body only for Neutron to roll him over and gets the tights to help get another pinfall.

Aguedo Alonso is in the back once again this time with the other participant in the main event, Hexx.

Aguedo Alonso: It seems having a bye did both you and Scorpion well. If you win tonight you both will be in the main event for the Campeon de Mexico title next month.

Hexx: If I win? There are no ifs when it comes about winning this match. Vincente Romero is a man who has just been lucky and his luck has run out. I will get this punk out of the way tonight then next month I will take care of Scorpion without issue. I am the best and you will see that right now.

Vincente Romero vs Hexx

The two veterans lock up and start off with a nice chain of counters before Vincente almost gets a quick tapout when he locks on the Mexican Deathlock. He is too close to the ropes and Hexx uses it as an advantage to sort of rolls things about while untangling himself and getting a pinfall. It stretches out into a long back and forth. Vincente does start to get momentum, but it is stalled when Decimalo comes out to cause a distraction. The referee is busy trying to get Decimalo to leave when Hexx pulls something out of his tights and knocks Vincente out cold. Decimalo leaves and Hexx gets the pin. The crowd boos and trash is thrown at the victor as Decimalo gets in the ring and celebrates with his partner.

Winner: Hexx

OOC: Never expected Vincente Romero to the guy that everyone apparently likes. Every segment I seem to put him in is doing well and his popularity has been steadily climbing. No chemistry notes this time around and I am a bit disappointed Higor vs Scorpion did poorly. Just the bad luck of both men being off their game otherwise it would have been pretty much par with the rest of the undercard. Hopefully I don't regret letting Scorpion go over!

EFL To Crown First Champion

Fourteen have become two and the two men that got a first round bye are in the finals after some hard fought battles. It is a textbook good guy against bad guy as one of EFL's top rudos, Hexx, will face off against Scorpion. While Hexx is one of the obvious veterans of the company, Scorpion is more of someone in between. He has some name value, but is also looking to improve himself and get noticed finally by one of the bigger companies in Mexico. He is considered to have a well rounded game that just needs a bit more polish. They obviously are pretty high on what he can do given he is in the main event and in the running to be the companies first champion. As always the show, EFL Manos De La Muerta, will be live from Juarez Bar and will surely have other exciting matches. The card can be found below.

Hurricane Higor Rosa with Padre Carrasco vs Payaso Jr

Hurricane Higor Rosa is not in a good mood it seems and he pummels Payaso and gives the young star little chance to fight back. A big left hook knocks Payaso off his feet to allow Rosa to get his first pinfall. He then hefts up Payaso and props him in a corner and nails another left hook even though it probably wasn't needed. He stands with a foot on Payaso and gets the second straight fall and the win.

Padre Carrasco: You all saw it last month. Even though you won't admit it, you know my client was robbed and should be in the main event tonight and not that masked goof Scorpion. This is the future, this is the top prospect and if he doesn't get first shot at the champion....well then things are going to get ugly.

Fray continues to have some bad luck in the early months of his career at EFL, but he still shows flashes of brilliance that show he could be a useful commodity if given more time to develop. Of course getting to work with a veteran like Decimalo doesn't hurt and the company owner gives the younger luchador some flashes of offense despite in the end he takes the win with two straight falls.

Agueda Alonso: It took a few months, but here you are. You had a feeling you and Hexx were going to meet and it seems to be true. Do you feel you can win tonight?

Scorpion: Well I always feel I can win, ya know? Hexx is one tough dude and I know better to think this is just going to be one on one. I saw what they did to Vincent and I will need to watch my back, ya know?

Agueda Alonso: So do you feel prepared in case Decimalo does decide to get involved?

Scorpion: Ya know, all I can do is my best. Hopefully it comes down to just being me and Hexx, but I know those dudes well enough. I am sure I will come up with something. Excuse me, chica. I got to go loosen up.

Mascara Roja Jr and El Hijo Del Neutron vs Cyclon and El Hijo Del Aguila with Lucia Valencia

A rather even and competitive match with several high flying spots that comes off a lot less sloppy than it should due to Cyclon sort of being the leader in there and making sure things flow properly. Cyclon gets the first pinfall for his team after a Sky Twister Press on Mascara Roja Jr, but things are evened up just a few moments later when Del Neutron blind tags in and nails Cyclon with a Neutron Bomb. Several near falls occur for awhile until Jose Flamenco makes his presence known. He once again goes after Lucia and Aguila has to give chase. Cyclon gets double teamed because of this distraction and Mascara Roja Jr nails him with the Mushroom Stomp to get the second fall and win it for his team.

La Bestia Purpura vs Sunburst

It is the savage style of Bestia against the rather smooth high flying of Sunburst. Purpura also continues to show he is one of the best in ring talents perhaps second only to Hexx and Decimalo. His ability to blend technical chain wrestling with high flying as well as mix it up with some brawling make him a dangerous opponent and Sunburst finds that out the hard way when he ends up down one fall to zero early on. Still Sunburst fights back and gets a few nearfalls, but his constant reliance on high risk moves costs him when Purpura rolls out of the way of an impressive moonsault. He quickly capitalizes and hefts the dazed Sunburst and hits him with the Beast Bomb to get the second pinfall.

Things shift backstage once again with Agueda Alonso who seems to have found Jose Flamenco. Jose looks rather pleased with himself and is all smiles as he looks over Alonso.

Agueda Alonso: Once again you caused chaos in a match by going after Lucia Valencia. What is your fascination with El Hijo Del Aguila's manager?

Jose Flamenco: My my, are we a bit jealous? Don't worry, love. You are a fetching woman yourself, but with Lucia....ahh my dear Lucia there is something that tugs on my soul and tells me we are just meant to be together. I think fate brought us both here and soon she will realize what I did when I first laid eyes on her. I just need to make her see the light.

Agueda Alonso: I think she knows what she wants. Should you really keep pressing this matter?

Jose Flamenco: Of course she knows what she wants deep down. For some reason she hasn't admitted it to herself! She is only hurting that poor poor El Hijo Del Aguila by staying with him. Everything will be better for us all once she realizes she and I are meant to be together. Now if you excuse me, love, I have a match to win.

Jose Flamenco vs Vincente Romero

Aguila attempts to come out and go after Jose, but staff manages to hold him back. Jose just looks cocky and waves goodbye to Aguila only to be tugged into a quick roll up which gives Vincente a quick one to zero lead over the flamboyant Flamenco. Jose gets more serious as he takes it to the veteran. He still does perhaps a bit too much grandstanding and it leads to Vincente making a comeback while building momentum. Jose tries to fight back, but finds a strike being caught and Vincente turns it into the Mexican Deathlock. Jose fights to get to the ropes, but can't make it. He is forced to tap out as Vincente picks up the second straight fall.

Hexx with Decimalo vs Scorpion

Already Scorpion has to start watching his back and Decimalo at least to start doesn't look to get involved. That all starts to change whenever Scorpion starts to gain momentum. He either tries to trip up Scorpion when he thinks the ref isn't looking or distracts the ref so Hexx can get a nice eyerake or low blow in to take control back. The fight spill outside and it looks like it could get back for Scorpion until someone comes out to even the odds.

Vincente Romero comes out and makes sure the fight remains between Hexx and Scorpion. It is distracting enough for the former that he rolls Scorpion in and fails to realize what the referee's count is at. Hexx is stunned and shouting when he gets counted out and Scorpion gets the first fall. Hexx slips in and starts to pummel Scorpion, but he can't seem to get a pinfall to even things up. Decimalo starts to try and distract the referee once more, but Romero pulls him down off the apron and they start going at it. Hexx finds himself distracted again and it gives Scorpion time to recover. He hits Hexx from behind and turns him about. Scorpion Bomb! Scorpion wins the title by winning the match via two straight falls.
