whyidie
Is there a guide to making mods ? I don't mind taking a hack at things, but can't get past password prompt on the default mdb file.

I believe the only way you would be seeing a password prompt is if you are trying to edit the mdb files directly with Access or another program which you shouldn't be attempting. The main editor is reached by clicking the fifth icon (from the left) on the wmma4 main menu.
Blackman
Adam strongly advises to edit the game in the in-game editor. One little mistake in Access and your database is toast. And honestly you don't really save much time as there's the ModMaker+, though Access is handy to get an oversight of the variables used.
whyidie
I'm starting to understand, appreciate the replies. The editor before loading a save is much more robust than the editor within a save. For mod makers I can see how this gives you what you need. My problem seems to be I want to make changes to an existing save which the editor will not allow. Having played the save for multiple years I want to tweak a couple of things (non-user controlled company weight classes, recovery times for all fighters) which are not possible in-save editor.
