Everything, the money it makes, the talent it produces, it all comes back to the man in his office who puts the show together. The way the shows play out comes down to the talent, but the booker is the one who realizes this talent. So, is the booker the one who rules over the entire promotion? Or does the talent used play effect? It may sound like an easy question, but you must think about it. If these principles are true, then my job is the breathing ground of WCW. There would be no WCW without Eric Bischoff. There would be no nWo and no wrestling that isn't all about T&A. WCW is falling, and I helped them back up. And now, we rise to the top once again, to show them where WE belong in history. The ones who put Vincent Kennedy McMahon out of business. http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/WCWNWO_zpsayluw5sm.jpg OOC Note: Hi all, and welcome to another diary. After writing in 85 for a bit, I wanted to write more in the late 90's. I figured; "What could I do?". So I decided to go back to the TEW '10 mods, DL Genadi's 1999 mod, roll it back to Dec. 1998 and BAM! we have a diary! This is a casual project so it will get updated as I find the time to do so. But for now, sit back, grab your popcorn and join me in the era of 1999; World Championship Wrestling style!

Mootinie
La Parka vs. Bret Hart Comments: God I love La Parka. Hart wins though. Sadly. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho Comments: God, this could go either way. I lean Jericho's way because Benoit beat him in a Nitro match in '96. I'm not sure what's happened between then and now but I'd be pushing both guys. Tough one to choose. Hammer vs. "Mongo" Steve McMichael Comments: Every time I read Mongo's name it reminds me of Blazing Saddles. He wins here for sure. Roddy Piper vs. Curt Hennig Comments: Please give Hennig a gimmick. I hated the way WCW stripped him of the one thing that made him interesting. I always thought he was super bland as just Hennig whereas he was absolutely marvellous as Mr. Perfect. 2 vs. 1 Handicap Match: Wrath vs. The Outsiders Comments: Unless something utterly insane happens... The Giant vs. Scott Steiner Comments: I love Paul Wight but surely Steiner is getting some serious investment. He probably needs the win more. Goldberg vs. Lex Luger Comments: THE STREAK IS OVER ON NITRO! Nah. Goldberg is gonna net most of us some serious prediction points in this diary methinks. Hammer vs. "Mongo" Steve McMichael Comments: This will be an ugly match. Roddy Piper vs. Curt Hennig Comments: Piper really shouldn't win matches, ever. 2 vs. 1 Handicap Match: Wrath vs. The Outsiders Comments: Not sure where we're going with this, but okay. The Giant vs. Scott Steiner Comments: Steiner should be treated like he was: a rising star in the making. Goldberg vs. Lex Luger Comments: I somehow doubt you'd have turned back the clock to erase Goldberg's one loss just to have him drop it on a random Nitro. [We got Bret and Nash to start the show out. Good opening segment for the first show on the build to Starrcade. The premise of this was basically Kevin Nash trying to convince Bret Hart to join nWo Wolfpac. Hart was stand-offish, as he stood to the side and let Big Kev do the talking. They were then interrupted by Scott Hall. Hall told Hart that if he joined the Wolfpac, then great things could happen. All the ladies and victories and gold that could be achieved would be fantastic! Does Bischoff want Bret to join nWo Hollywood? [Next up we saw Eric Bischoff backstage. He was on the phone when the segment began but he hung up to make an announcement. He says that what the Wolfpac just did was a sign of their true weakness. They put a man in an uncomfortable position. Bischoff says that whilst he will not pressure Bret, he will always have an invitation ready for him. Next, Bret Hart will face La Parka. Bret took his time in this one, as he knew he would come out on top. However, this didn't mean that Parka wasn't going to put up a fight. Parka valiantly fought Hart for about five minutes whilst neither man gained the advantage. However, the beginning of the end began when Bret reverses a Moonsault into a big Northern Lights Suplex that got a two count. From here, it was only a short distance away until Bret locked in the Sharpshooter and notched yet another victory in his scorecard.] Winner: Bret Hart My Grade: B- </div> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"> http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Kevin%20Nash%2019_zpswlllahns.jpghttp://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Scott%20Hall%207_zpslkoh2ghj.jpg Segment 3: The Outsiders talk about Bret Hart. [Next up, the camera cut backstage to an unspecified area where The Outsiders were chatting it up like two buddies. Their topic; Bret Hart. Nash and Hall both talked up Hart's performance, and said he would be a great ally in the fight against that "old piece of garbage" Hollywood Hogan. They both want to add Hart to the Wolfpac, but they are not sure if Lex Luger would be okay with it. Hall laughs and says "Don't worry chico, I've solved that one." The pair then laugh and walk away whilst Hall was talking about the adult movie he watched last night.] My Grade: C+ </div> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"> http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Chris%20Benoit%204_zps1fwm5tfh.jpghttp://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/wcwpack_zpsylaumaws.jpghttp://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Chris%20Jericho%207_zps63oszxri.jpg Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho [The second bout of the evening was a great showcase for the future talent of WCW. Both Benoit and Jericho are most likely to become big things by the time the new millenium hits. Both men used their techincal knowledge and had very similar styles due to both of their similar starts in the wrestling business. Benoit had the Crippler Crossface locked in at multiple times, but Jericho was able to power-out. Benoit, however, did not get off easy. He took multiple Lionsaults, but he always managed to find a way out of them. This was a good match; until Mongo got involved. Mongo came down, swung a chair at Benoit!? Wait, why did he swing at Benoit? Anyways, Jericho then made the cover on Benoit after a Lionsault and Jericho was able to pick up the victory.] Winner: Chris Jericho My Grade: B </div> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"> http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Steve%20McMichael_zpss43o9d5k.jpg Segment 4: Steve McMichael cuts a promo mainly on Ric Flair and the Horsemen. [Didn't see much of this segment as it was my bathroom break. Mongo grabbed a mic post match and shook hands with Jericho. I guess that ends McMichael's alliance with the Horsemen? My buddy then filled me in and said that Mongo was blaming Ric Flair for holding him down all of these years, including when Goldberg beat him at Starrcade '97. What, just what? Mongo go home please. He ends off by letting off an open challenge, which is then accepted by Hammer. After Hammer hit a Powerbomb on Mongo, I left after I noticed that my wife had gotten home. She brought me and my friend some beers and some Domino's. We ate the two pepperoni pizzas like monsters with the match on in the background. However, we tried to not pay attention because after all, this is freaking Mongo we're talking about c'mon now! Anyways, my friend pointed out whilst his mouth was full with his seventh slice that Mongo just won with the Mongo Spike. Sure enough, he did. [Here we go now! The Nature Boy is here in the Coleman Coliseum! Flair comes out to great applause and does his typical Flair shenanigans before getting in the ring with Mongo. Flair insults McMichael and says that he's been low before, but attacking Benoit in his match is just plain unfair. Horsemen have eachother's back, they don't go interfering in matches against no-name no-necks like Chris Jericho! Flair says that if he's going to be like this, then Flair will give him what he wants! Flair then tells Mongo that if he's got a buff with the horsemen, then he can face Dean Malenko next week! Mongo seems satisfied as he walks to the back before Flair surprises him down low! The mood was kicking as Flair just came out and now the Hot Rod taking on the man formerly known as Mr. Perfect. Anyways, both men had a good technical match here that even the non-wrestling fan wife could appreciate. Piper was the favorite here, but Hennig had us doubted a couple of times after various holds and moves left Piper stumbling. Hennig took time to pose in this one, bragging to the fans off-mic about the superiority of nWo Hollywood. However, this only seemed to motivate Piper even more, as the Rowdy Scot was able to put away Hennig with a well executed bulldog after a good battle.] Winner: Roddy Piper My Grade: C+ </div> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"> http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Hollywood%20Hogan%202_zpsnd0uo1s4.jpghttp://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Kevin%20Nash%2019_zpswlllahns.jpghttp://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Scott%20Hall%207_zpslkoh2ghj.jpghttp://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b515/ThePiOverlord111/1999%20WCW/Roddy%20Piper%205_zpst3hr4mji.jpg Segment 6: Piper addresses Hollywood Hogan after his match. [After his match, Roddy Piper got back into the ring with a microphone. He says that back in the eighties, it was always Rowdy Roddy that the fans hated and Hogan was the one who was beloved. He says that that has sure as hell changed since then. The fans hate Hogan now, and they finally realized who their real hero is! After that jargen, Hollywood Hogan came out to Voodoo Child as the mate and I jammed out to the song as Hogan came out doing the air guitar. Hogan didn't have much to say, but he did note that all will come in due time for Piper. However, strange occurences happened next. The Outsiders music hit, and immediately they jumped Piper from behind!? I thought that The Outsiders hated Hogan based on the way they talked about him earlier, but I guess that's not the case here. This was The Outsiders first match with each other for awhile, as they were recently on tough terms recently. However, they have worked that out as Scott Hall apparently has joined the Wolfpac. They decimated Wrath here and made the big brute look like a vanilla midget. [Here's another storyline with another person who wants Hogan. This time; it's the former nWo Hollywood member himself - The Giant. Hogan talks about Giant backstage, and Hogan claims that he signed Giant personally. Yeah right Hogan, we all know Ted Turner does that! Anyways, Hogan then talked about The Giant's chances against him. Hogan says that as long as the nWo is around, then The Giant's career will be obselete. Let's take a moment to reflect. Why is Hogan using these big words! C'mon man, me and my bud don't understand this "obsolete" shit! Anyways, Hogan was then met by The Giant himself! Scott Steiner looked to avenge the punches Hogan took in that last brawl as he gave it is all to try and knock The Giant down. Unfortunately, he could not. How is The Giant so tall anyways? I wonder how big his..... alright let's continue with the match! The Giant hit a Chokeslam early on, but Big Poppa Pump was able to fight through and show The Giant that he meant business. However, Steiner couldn't win on his own. As Giant had Steiner up for a Chokeslam, Hogan snuck in and nailed Giant with a chair. After a Frankensteiner, The Giant fell for the loss. Goldberg is the WCW World Champion taking on Luger, who hasn't been himself recently. They went back and forth in this one, as the two just couldn't put each other away. Goldberg speared Luger multiple times but Luger kept on keeping on his fight. Luger looked to pick up the win for the Wolfpac, and he was going to... until. That is until we screamed "HOLY SHIT!" when Bret Hart came out and low-blowed Luger! Goldberg, not seeing this, speared Luger once again and won the match.
