2012 Recap

Its July 2012 and the WWE are three weeks away from Money in the Bank and the mood in the WWE is changing as the return of part timers is heating both RAW and Smackdown up. Brock Lesnar returned to RAW and delivered a F5 to John Cena, at Extreme Rules Lesnar made the face of the WWE look weaker than ever. The Rock is rumored to return some time this month and tell the world his intentions of winning the WWE Championship. The Undertaker hasn't been seen since Wrestlemania after beating Triple H, some are saying that his career is all but over. CM Punk is the current WWE Champion and Sheamus is the current World Heavyweight champion. Fans are screaming for something else, WWE is looking to help the fans taste for something completely new as stars from developmental are set to debut. Vince Mchahon is looking to shake things up and reinforce the Brand Split with new General Managers. A draft will happen after Summerslam offering the WWE a reset. Superstars may appear on another show as long as both GMs agree. A third show will be in place called NXT showing the WWE Universe the future of the WWE in a 30 minute program. Speaking of time, they have moved RAW from 3 hours to 2 hours since less talent will be available due to the brand split. The WWE Network is set to launch early 2013 and will offer fans to rewatch old wrestling moments from WWE, WCW, ECW, AWA and many more.

The rest of the main event scene on RAW is filled with potential champions. Rock would be higher but rumors are he won't be back for a while. Kane has become a threat to Punks title has he has been brutal with a range of attacks. The Miz may be the very bottom of the main event scene and will have to work harder than others to get himself back in title contention.

Now for the Tag Team division. All tag teams will fight for one title and the champions can compete on both shows. On special occasions tag teams may appear on an opposite brand. Currently the title is vacant as previous holders Kofi and R-Truth had to vacate the title when R-Truth suffered an injury.

Pre-Show: John Cena vs Tyler Reks w/Curt Hawkins

A sweet pre show match here as the leader of the Cenation takes on a ruthless Tyler Reks who is joined by Hawkins. Reks is able to take Cena of his feet. Cena is able to get out of a hold of Reks and lifts Reks on his shoulders and attempts a AA. Reks is able to struggle out of it and clotheslines Cena out of the ring. Reks distracts the referee as Hawkins swings his cane at Cena but Cena ducks and lifts Hawkins up and hits a AA. Cena runs into the ring and gives Reks a shoulder block and another. He gives Reks a Five Knuckle Shuffle and lifts him up for AA and hits it. He pins him for a win. Reks and Hawkins impressed management here with a decent match with Cena.

Hello WWE Universe welcome to Monday Night Raw my name is Michael Cole and I am joined by Hall of Famer Jerry 'The King' Lawler. Tonight Mr. McMahon will announce the new RAW GM, we are going to have a new boss King!

Jerry 'The King' Lawler:

Hey we have had all sorts of bosses Cole from celebrities to a midget anyone can be picked by Mr. McMahon.

Michael Cole:

Not only that we found out on WWE.com that CM Punk challenged anyone on the roster to tonight's main event and on Twitter former partner of his Kofi Kingston accepted his challenge, that is going to be an awesome match.

Jerry 'The King' Lawler:

That would be a hell of a way to put yourself as a main event challenger to the title.

Michael Cole:

Can you imagine if Kofi can defeat CM Punk here tonight and we are yet to name a challenger for CM Punk at Money in the Bank. Speaking of Money in the Bank tonight we will find out three people that will compete in the RAW Money in the Bank match.

Mr. McMahon makes his way down to the ring with a chorus of boos he has a big smirk on his face as he struts from one side of the ring to the other. Cole notes how Vince has been the most powerful figure in sports entertainment history. Lawler says how stressed he must be with the Network coming soon, the second biggest PPV Summerslam and the Draft all coming in the next few months.

Vince McMahon:

Vickie Guerrero, AW, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon all make their way down to the ring with Triple H playing to the crowd. Stephanie hugs her father and AW and Triple H shake hands with McMahon. Vickie tries to hug McMahon but her refuses a hug from her.

Vince McMahon:

I am sure you are all eager to find out who the new GM will be of Monday Night RAW. You see for years on RAW I want a GM that can bring excitement. That can bring great matches to the WWE Universe and won't allow personal issues to blind them from making the right decision. For that reason Vickie and AW I understand you both have clients on the RAW roster and for that reason I can't allow you to be GM.

The crowd cheers as Vickie has a tantrum as she leaves the ring and AW angrily makes a call on his phone. Stephanie McMahon and her husband Triple H are left in the ring.

Stephanie McMahon:

Dad I just want to thank you for this opportunity for me to be GM of RAW and I know me and Hunter would make great GMs of both RAW and Smackdown.

Vince McMahon:

Neither of you will be GM of RAW, but Stephanie you will be the General Manager of Smackdown. Paul for you I know that the future means a lot to you so I have assigned you to be the General Manager of NXT which will be debuting next week.

Triple H:

Thank you Vince, but you know I will be better of as the GM of RAW or Smackdown.

Vince McMahon:

Honestly Paul you just aren't ready.

Triple H is furious and looks like he is almost going to strike Vince but calms down and walks over to Stephanie and whispers something into her ear.

Stephanie McMahon:

Dad, I know this is hard but when you retire the next person in charge is me and Hunter, maybe you should rethink this.

Vince McMahon:

MY DECISION HAS BEEN MADE GOD DAMN IT!

Stephanie McMahon:

So who is the GM for RAW?

Vince McMahon:

I'm glad you asked, ladies and gentleman please welcome back ............................................................................................ Shawn Micheals.

Kharma vs AJ Lee

Lee is against a huge monster in the first match of RAW. Kharma has been dominating ever since she arrived on the scene and looks to impress the new overlooker of the Divas division Stephanie McMahon. Lee kicks the legs of Kharma but has no effect, she starts to skip around Kharma and Kharma looks pissed off. Kharma runs after her delivers a painful clothesline. She picks Lee up and delivers a destructive Sitout Powerbomb. The ref pins 1 2 3. She stands tall over the body of AJ Lee.

You may be looking at a future Divas Champion.

I will be surprised that if anyone can get a move in because we know each-other so well. My strategy is simple go all out, don't let this opportunity slide. You have to understand its not often that you get to face the WWE Champion. I am going to give the Co GMs Stephanie and Shawn a reason to give me a shot at facing Punk for the title at Money in the Bank.

Winner qualifies to the Money in the Bank Match

Zack Ryder vs Jack Swagger w/Vickie Guerrero

The Ryder Revolution is considered on the hill down but Ryder will look to reverse that by winning this match then winning the Money in the Bank. Swagger wants to impress his manager Vickie Guerrero. Guerrero would love it if both her clients were in the Money in the Bank match both Ziggler and Swagger. Swagger directs his attack after Ryders ankle which will help him put on the ankle lock. Ryder struggles to battle out of Swagger assault and is knocked down by a gorilla press. Ryder rolls out of the ring and Vickie taunts Ryder but Ryder goes “Woo Woo Woo” and hops back in the ring. The two battle it out for the next few minutes until Ryder whips Swagger into the ropes and hits a Rough Ryder. Ryder gets the pinfall and advances to Money in the Bank as he “Woo Woo Woos” with the crowd, while Vickie screams at Swagger.

Michael Cole:

Ryder is going to Money in the Bank King!

Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero vs Darren Young w/Titus O'Neil

We return from break and Darren Young is in the ring with Prime Time Player partner Titus O’Neil, they say they have ‘Millions of Dollars, Millions of Dollars’. Ziggler comes out focused with a furious Guerrero who witnessed her other client Swagger lose to Ryder. Young is stepping out of the tag team division for one night to fight for a shot at Money in the Bank. Ziggler shows how much better he is against Young. Young tries to get a few moves in with a dropkick and a take down. Young delivers a great DDT and plays to the crowd and Titus O’Neil but gets Zig Zag for his effort and Ziggler is going to Money in the Bank.

Michael Cole:

Vickie's first client failed but Ziggler is successful!

Jerry 'The King' Lawler:

I have never seen Ziggler dominate so much Cole.

The Miz vs Brodus Clay w/Naomi and Cameron

The Miz and Brodus Clay are both potential future main eventers. Miz has already one the WWE Championship and successfully defended his WWE Championship against John Cena. Brodus has his critiques saying that he will never have success as a dancing monster, tonight he looks to put to critiques to rest. The monster dominates the Awesoeme one in the opening minutes until Miz is able to whip Brodus into the corner and hit a running clothesline. He is starting the build some steam and the crowd hates it. Miz hears the booos and loves it, he panders to the crowd and raises a hand signalling he is listening. Brodus Clay sees an opening and runs after Miz, Miz sees him coming and lowers the rope and sends Brodus out of the ring. Miz follows him and throws Brodus into the ring post. Brodus tries to get up and Miz gives him a big boot. Miz gets in the ring and the referee counts. Clay manages to get in at 8 but Miz is their waiting for him and hits a Skull Crushing Finale.

CM Punk vs Kofi Kingston

Kofi and Punk had a tag team run in 2008 and since then Punk has risen to main event status while Kofi has struggled to escape the mid card, but tonight if Kofi can beat Punk then maybe he will reach a higher level and perhaps a title shot. The crowd are wild in Kentucky as two babyfaces clash in the main event of RAW. Kicks and chops are traded and Kofi is knocked down with a flurry of chops to the chest by Punk then a round house kick. Punk goes to the apron and springboards into the ring and attempts an elbow drop and Kofi rolls out of the way and gets up and runs the ropes to hit a diving leg drop. Punk rolls out of the way and both men are down. The next ten minutes the crowd witnesses a classic technical battle until we see Kofi hit Punk of the top turnbuckle and he climbs to the top. Punks quick like a cat and runs up the ropes to meet Kofi up there and the two face off. Headbuts, chops and punches are swapped until Punk lifts Kofi up and teases a Go to Sleep but Kof elbows out of it. Punk lifts Kofi up and hits a superplex of the top rope onto the mat. Both men are down but Punk is the first to his feet and wants Kofi up. Kofi is up and has Punk behind him. Punk lifts the almost lifeless Kofi and hits the GTS for the pinfall victory. Both men shake hands after the match.

Both Punk and Kofi are celebrating over the great match until the lights turn red and Kanes music hits. Out comes the Devils Favourite Demon and he enters the ring and destroys both Punk and Kofi a choke slam for each to end RAW. We see Kane with the WWE Championship and the program ends.

I think the show got better and better as it went on mate

Only feedback/criticism I'd give is the same advice I once got: keep those pre-show match write-ups short. Certainly the shortest of the show Also maybe have managers and valets with smaller pics to distinguish them? I use a 'w/' in between the pictures. I thought it was Ziggler and Vickie against the Prime Time Players in a tag team match!! But these may just be personal preference more than anything.

Other than that, it flowed nicely, and HBK is a good pick for RAW GM

The lovely Askana starts cheer on from ringside. Cesaro tries to pick Tatsu up but Tatsu kicks him in the head. Cesaro tries again and Tatsu kicks again, and again and again. Cesaro collapses and Tatsu gets up. Tatsu hops out onto the apron but Cesaro is quick to grab Tatsu who is on the apron and suplexs him back into the ring. He lifts Tatsu up and throws him up into the air and hits a Swiss Uppercut. He pins Tatsu for the win.</span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:8px;">

Winner of NXT Johnny Curtis looks to get above the midcard while Sin Cara wants to get back on track and become the number 1 luchadore in the WWE. Sin Cara amazes the fans with an aerial assault and Curtis is able to ground Cara with a kick to the ribs in the middle of the ring. He runs the ropes and runs to Cara who leapfrogs Curtis and they run the ropes with each-other with leapfrogs until Sin Cara hits a spinning kick to take Curtis down. Cara runs to the tope rope and attempts a senton bomb but Curtis avoids it. Cara is down and Curtis gets up and taunts the crowd waiting for Cara to get up. When he does he attempts a brainbuster but Cara slides behind Curtis and hits a brainbuster of his own. The match sees some great tag team action between both high flying sides. The Uso’s are able to corner Epico in their corner to the fans delight, Epico is able to hit an hurricanrana on Jimmy and both legal men are down. Epico is able to get a hot tag to Primo and Jey is tagged in. Primo runs in and is meet by a suprising superkick. Three of Smackdowns biggest giants including the undefeated will battle it out here to qualify for Smackdown Money in the Bank. The crowd is firmly behind the Big Show and is booing Ryback. (For whatever reason Big Show is face in this mod and Ryback is heel. None the less I will roll with it). Ezekiel and Ryback go after the bigger Big Show and Ryback is able to get Big Show out of the ring and follows him out of there. Ezekiel hops out with Ryback and they proceed to beat the giant down. Ryback whips the Big Show into the barrier and Ezekiel proceeds to punch him while Ryback backs off. Ezekiel lets the Big Show stay there while Ryback runs after Big Show and Big Show hops out of the way and Ryback goes head first into the barrier. Big Show senses and opening and strikes Ezekiel and throws him in the ring. Big Show now in the ring and lifts Ezekiel up hits a powerslam. The next minutes are filled with the two giants battling it out. Ezekiel tries to lift the Big Show up but can’t and Big Show lifts Ezekiel up for a chokeslam. He hits it and gets up and turns around to be meet by Ryback and a clothesline. Ryback decides not to try a shellshock on the Big Show and lifts Ezekiel up instead and hits a shellshock. </span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:8px;">

Sheamus is able to bait Henry to the apron and starts pounding his chest yelling FELLA. Henry is on his knees and Sheamus locks on a sharpshooter. Henry shows why he is the world’s strongest man as he pulls the entire weight of Sheamus to the ropes and breaks the hold. Sheamus at this point may be out of ideas except for a brogue kick and Henry knows it. Henry is able to use the ropes to get up and Sheamus is waiting behind him. Henry turns around and ducks the brogue kick and lifts Sheamus up and tries to hit the worlds strongest slam but Sheamus using his elbows was able to get out of it. Sheamus gets out and hits Mark Henry with a brogue kick.</span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:8px;">
