Background Information

Good morning/afternoon/prevening/evening to everyone that has taken time out of their lives to take a look at this diary. This diary is angeldelayette presenting his take on World Championship Wrestling beginning in the month of July and the year of 1994. I have done many diaries in the past, both Cornellverse and Real World. As a matter of fact, I am running another dynasty right now. That is a diary called WWE 2015: The Road Through WrestleMania And Beyond.

World Championship Wrestling opens up a whole new vibrant amount of wrestlers to create characters with. I hope to bring a new and fresh take on the promotion. However, I will say beginning here that there will be some times that are not completely realistic. Those times will generally be wrestlers coming in on a full time basis that are not and probably would not ever do so in real life. But the good thing about the game is that I can make those decisions myself.

Inspiration

Hive - I would like to thank Hive for the hard work in creating the data that this diary is built from. I have enjoyed the hard work and I hope that I do this data justice.

jhd1 - A great diary writer and one that I go to for support again and again. He is one of my best friends on these GDS boards. He is also responsible for a lot of the graphics work that gets done both in the diary and in different games. I thank him for that.

Eisen-verse - Another amazing diary writer. He is another one of my friends and always offers good advice when I need it. His epic SWF diary, DOA diaries, PSW and the list goes on and on, have been an inspiration on everyone that reads it. I have definitely been inspired by his depictions of wrestlers in all of his diaries. One cannot help but to be inspired.

Cut Artists - I cannot forget these amazing artists that bring the real world to life. All credit for the cuts and pictures goes to their respective artists. A special thank you goes to these artists. If there is one that you see that you would like me to change the name to include/give credit to you as the artist, please feel free to let me know here or in pm.

Beejus - He is someone to whom I want to give some special thanks. His epic diary, WCW '94: War of the Thrones, is a definite diary to read. I only hope I can live up to half of what he has written there. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all.

Lexa90, BHK1978, critical-23, TheLeviticalLawKid3, 20LEgend, Bigpapa42, Emark, Tigerkinney, Rayelek, Midnightnick, RKOwnage, pennyone, 3rdStringPG, packerman120, Zergon and more - These names have been some of the more long-lasting names that have commented and predicted within my diaries in the past. They have been and always continue to be an inspiration to me in their comments and predictions. They always seem to stick by me through thick and thin, though some more-so than others now. Which, again, I do not blame them for their choices. I just want to thank them here and now for their predictions and comments in the past.

WCW Saturday Night Preview!

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/WCWSaturdayNight.jpg

-Welcome to the preview for WCW's Saturday Night television show. We are coming to you taped from the sold out Pyramid Arena in Memphis, Tennessee. We are just coming off the
Clash of the Champions
where
Ric Flair
unified the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and the WCW International World Heavyweight Championship by defeating
Sting
with the help of
Sensuous Sherri
.

-One man who has come to the aid of the WCW Franchise is the man, the myth, the legend
Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat
. Following what happened at the Clash of the Champions, Steamboat went to
Nick Bockwinkel
and requested a title match against Ric Flair. Bockwinkel accepted this title match and right here on WCW Saturday Night, we will be seeing the WCW World Heavyweight title defended as these two rivals go one on one.

-In other action, we will be seeing two veterans of the squared circle go one on one when The All American
Ron Simmons
takes on the WCW Franchise
Sting
! Sting is coming off a gut-wrenching loss at the Clash and will be looking to return to his winning ways. Simmons has turned on the fans and is looking out for himself now. He will be looking to pick up a win and gain some momentum moving forward.

-We will also be seeing a WCW World Tag Team Title defense as the team of
Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan
take on
The Nasty Boys
. The Nasties are the team that injured Kevin's brother Dave and forced him to take on a new partner. That new partner became Cactus Jack. Dave will be at ringside for this match so that may very well make things interesting.

-Plus more wrestlers in action, including
Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes
,
Lord Steven Regal
,
Erik Watts
and more!

Comment: Interesting where you take this Anderson-Rhodes dynamic. This is a straight squash, but should put Anderson/Rhodes over.

WCW World Television Title Match

10 Minute Time Limit

Lord Steven Regal defends vs. Erik Watts

Comment: Erik Watts is so bad that even though he rolled a great potential in my 94' Era of War diary, I didn't renew him because he sucked too much. Regal is a terrific talent -- he deserved a main event push, but for some reason, WCW never followed through.

WCW World Tag Team Titles Match

Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan defend vs. The Nasty Boys

Comment: There are about twice the Face Tag Teams than Heels in '94 so even though Jack/Sullivan should drop the titles, they can't until someone turns, and The Nasties are the (easiest) to turn face. Cactus is a future Main Eventer, he would've been a great foil to Hogan had they held onto him.

Ron Simmons vs. Sting

Comment: The Stinger is "The Franchise" of WCW, and while Simmons is a great hand, he isn't a future champion.

WCW World Heavyweight Title Match

Ric Flair defends vs. Ricky Steamboat

Comment: Free Title defended on TV -- I have to think this will end in a draw.

Fun Fan Signs: R.I.P. American Dream

Natural Enforcers

Ric Flair Placed An Order For Dragon-Suade Shoes.. and Bockwinkel Delivered

Love to see where you take this -- I'm guessing Dusty's passing was the motivation. I haven't been a fan that long, but I've admired the character a whole lot -- he's my favorite even if he's only on a couple shows. From a "what he represented" point, he's got me tearing up right now, there was a personal connection.

This is such a wasted era for WCW. The promotion squandered so much potential -- a lot of it was squandered to appease Hogan, but with a bit of creativity they could have worked around it... The Dungeon of Doom was absolutely not the way to go. It is much easier in a Sim to work with the Big Hulkster, however.

First of all, thank you to everyone who has made predictions and/or commented. They are all so very much appreciated. If anyone has a promotion they would like added to the quick results page, please let me know. On to a few comments...

Thank you so much, RKOwnage. Always glad to see some positive comments from a writer of your caliber. I hope this one is going to be a fun one to read.

A couple of comments here. I think that Watts is a little better than some people give him credit for, at least according to Diamond Dallas Page. He just got that big push because of his father. He was pushed too far too soon and that was the biggest problem with him.

I, actually, have more heel tag teams than face tag teams. On the face side, we have the trio of Cactus Jack, Kevin Sullivan and Dave Sullivan, Brad & Brian Armstrong and Stars 'N' Stripes. On the heel side, we have Bad Attitude, Bunkhouse Buck and Terry Funk, Harlem Heat, Pretty Wonderful, Tex & Shanghai, The Nasty Boys and The State Patrol. So, definitely, more heel tag teams than faces. Cactus is definitely a future Main Eventer as long as his destiny roll allows him to be. When that future is coming? Well, we'll have to wait and see, right?

Dusty's passing is a definite motivation for this. Though I have been pondering for awhile about returning to WCW 1994. Dusty's hard times promo always gets to me every single time I hear it. Hard times is when you've been working at the same place for 30 years and they give you a watch and a kick in the butt out of the door, telling you that you have been replaced by a computer. That's hard times, daddy.

This is definitely a wasted era for WCW. But hopefully I can turn things around AND appease Hogan at the same time. :)

Getting that nod in the inspiration warms the heart, angel. Thank you :) Can't wait to see what you do with this time period! I know I did kinda set the bar a little high, but if anyone can jump it, you can!

Bad Attitude vs. Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes

Comment: I honestly think that if you look back at my first maybe two shows in War, you will find all of these matches booked :p

You are definitely an inspiration, Beejus. You have set the bar high with your epic diary. I am looking forward to doing some things differently than yours, though. As far as the matches go, I looked up real results for WCW Saturday Night and some of these matches were really done on Saturday Night in this time period.

Bad Attitude vs. Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes

Comment: To be honest, I have next to no idea who Bad Attitude even are :o but still, I always liked Arn so I´m not picking against him here.

Just to keep you informed, Bad Attitude is the short-lived WCW tag team featuring Steve Keirn(aka Skinner) and Bobby Eaton. It is an intriguing tag team, given that both are really more-so tag team specialists.

[Eric Bischoff, Bobby Heenan and Dusty Rhodes welcome everyone to WCW Saturday Night right here in the Pyramid Arena in Memphis, Tennessee! 'Also sprach Zarathustra' begins to play in the background and out comes the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair! Flair is dressed to the nines in a suit with shades covering his eyes. He steps inside the ring and gives a strut, bouncing off the ropes and releasing a 'Whoooooo' that is echoed throughout the crowd. Flair raises the microphone and says it feels great to be the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. As a matter of fact, Sensuous Sherri is in the back putting the champagne on ice for our celebration tonight after I beat Ricky Steamboat. Ricky, tonight, you're going to find out the same thing that Hulk Hogan is going to find out at Bash At The Beach: to be the man, you have to beat the man. Whoooooo! This belt around my waist proves that I am the man. Lord it's hard to be humble, when you're the WCW World Heavyweight champion! I am custom made from head-to-toe. My shoes cost more than most of your houses. I live in the biggest house on the big side of town. The bottom line is that I am the best wrestler in the business today. Not Ricky Steamboat, not Jake Roberts, not the Road Warriors and especially not Hulk Hogan. Hulk, look into my eyes. Flair removes the shades and tosses them out of the ring and into the crowd. You are NOT going to beat me at Bash At The Beach. My name is the Nature Boy Ric Flair and I am the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. At the Bash, Hulk, you're gonna bleed all night long! Whoooooo! Flair's music hits and Flair exits the ring, heading for the back. This is definitely intense. Ric Flair versus Hulk Hogan, the dream match at Bash At The Beach.]

Bad Attitude vs. Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes

[Our opening contest here on WCW Saturday Night is a tag team match, featuring four veterans of the squared circle. The action goes a lot more back and forth than some people in the building might think. Bad Attitude isolates Dustin Rhodes in their corner, using frequent double teams to keep the Natural down. They egg Arn Anderson into the ring and then choke Rhodes using the tag rope as the referee forces Anderson back into his corner. Keirn locks Rhodes into position for a double underhook facebuster but Rhodes gets momentum from the crowd, lifting Keirn up and over in a back body drop. Both men crawl toward their corners and make the tags. In comes The Enforcer, catching both Bobby Eaton and Steve Keirn with punches. A sign goes up in the crowd, reading: 'It's a bad day to have a Badd Attitude!' Anderson sends Eaton to the ropes and drops him with a Double A Spinebuster. He makes a cover but Keirn breaks up the pinfall at a two count only. In comes Dustin Rhodes to even up the odds. All four men are brawling in the ring and move to opposite corners. Rhodes goes up on Keirn and Anderson goes up on Eaton, throwing stereo punches as the crowd counts along. They get to ten and then drop down. Anderson kicks Eaton in the gut -- DDT! A sign raises in the background, reading: 'Natural Enforcers!' Anderson makes the cover, hooking the leg: One, Two, Three!]

[We move from the ring to the interview area where Gene Okerlund reminds everyone to call the WCW Hotline where they can get the inside scoop on all of the WCW wrestlers. He talks about his guest at this time being Col. Robert Parker and his bodyguard Meng. Both of them came out and the crowd gave loud boos to these two men. Okerlund asks Parker about the upcoming tag team match featuring his two men: Terry Funk and Bunkhouse Buck against Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes. Parker says that as a southern gentleman, he has been told that if he doesn't have anything nice to say about someone, not to say anything. But when it comes to Dustin Rhodes and Arn Anderson, he's willing to make an exception. He says that, as Terry Funk would say, those two men are yellow bellied egg -- his words are cut off by the arrival of Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes. Meng steps in between Parker and the tag team. Anderson looks Meng in the eyes and tells him to move out of the way before he gets moved. Meng looks right back toward Anderson and doesn't move. This might have gotten physical but suddenly, Anderson and Rhodes are attacked from behind! Terry Funk and Bunkhouse Buck have arrived! They have straps! Funk and Buck begin wearing out Anderson and Rhodes with the straps, knocking them down. Funk begins choking Rhodes with the strap, putting a knee into the back of The Natural. Bunkhouse Buck puts the boots to Anderson, lashing him with a strap! A sign is shown in the background, reading: 'R.I.P. American Dream!' Finally, Parker calls them off and gives his best southern gentleman smile down toward the carnage before the Stud Stable walks off and Gene Okerlund talks about the return of a WCW wrestler coming soon.]

[A music video begins, showing the career of WCW wrestler Flyin' Brian Pillman. His original debut here in WCW is briefly shown with him picking up a win with some top rope moves and his usual use of speed. Pillman is shown being dropped on his head by Sid Vicious inside a War Games cage match. Videos of his time in the hospital are shown briefly. Then we see him capturing the WCW Light Heavyweight title by defeating Richard Morton. He is shown winning the title a second time by defeating Jushin Thunder Liger at SuperBrawl II. Pillman is shown winning the World Tag Team titles with Steve Austin as the Hollywood Blondes. Then Steve Austin drops Pillman and destroys his ankle. Video footage is shown of Pillman going through surgery on his ankle. He looks in the camera and promises that he will be back to World Championship Wrestling. Now we have learned that Brian Pillman will be coming back to WCW soon!]

WCW World Television Title Match

10 Minute Time Limit

Lord Steven Regal defends vs. Erik Watts

[Our second match of the night features a WCW World Television title defense by Lord Steven Regal against Erik Watts. Sir William stands at ringside and watches as these two men put on a very good match, considering who is involved. Early in the match, Regal sends Watts into a corner and begins firing European Uppercuts to the second generation wrestler. He brings Watts to the mat with a butterfly suplex, scoring a one count on a pin attempt. Watts gets some momentum going midway through the match, coming back and catching Regal with a powerslam for a two count. Watts goes for the STF but Regal quickly gets to the ropes to break the hold before it gets completely locked in. Watts yanks Regal to his feet and goes for a chokeslam but Regal counters with a kick to the gut. Regal slips around behind Watts and locks in a half nelson, tripping Watts to the mat. The submission hold is locked in tight but Watts refuses to give up. The crowd gets solidly behind the second generation wrestler and he struggles his way to his feet. He reverses the half nelson, sliding behind Regal -- German Suplex with a bridge: One, Two, Thr -- Kickout! Both men get to their feet and within a few moments Regal trips Watts and locks in the Regal Stretch. Watts struggles in the hold but eventually has to submit, giving the win to Regal.]

[Gene Okerlund is shown, once again, down in the interview area. He talks about what a great show we have had so far and introduces his guests at this time: the team of Pretty Wonderful! Okerlund begins by informing them and the audience that at Bash At The Beach, this tag team will face whoever the WCW World Tag Team Champions are. Okerlund asks what they think about this announcement. Paul Orndorff tells Okerlund to just stand there and hold the microphone because him being there makes the two of them look even better by comparison. He says that you are looking at the two men who are the reflection of perfection. They are so much better looking than Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan. As a matter of fact, he'd say that even Gene Okerlund is better looking than those two dogs. Paul Roma takes the microphone and says it feels great to be so good-looking. He says that he knows that's something these fans would know nothing about. He almost feels sorry for the fat guy in the front row with his wife with the missing teeth and all the beer bellies that fill this arena. But they have come to witness greatness and this greatness is Pretty Wonderful. At Bash At The Beach, whether it's Cactus and Kevin or The Nasty Boys, there's going to be new World Tag Team Champions. Roma tosses the microphone back to Gene Okerlund before Pretty Wonderful walk away and Okerlund sends us back to the ring.]

WCW World Tag Team Titles Match

Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan defend vs. The Nasty Boys

[This match was set up when The Nasty Boys attacked Kevin's brother, Dave, and left him injured and unable to continue as WCW World Tag Team Champion. Cactus Jack stepped into his place and now Kevin Sullivan is looking for revenge against the men who injured his brother. Dave Sullivan stands at ringside with crutches. As one would expect, this match is a pure brawl between all four men. It begins with all four men in the ring doing battle until Cactus Jack strikes Brian Knobbs with a Cactus Clothesline sending both of them over the top rope to the floor. Bobby Heenan claims that should be a disqualification but Eric Bischoff points out that both men went over the top rope, not just one. This leaves Kevin Sullivan and Jerry Sags inside the ring. Sullivan catches Sags with a shoulderbreaker and scores a two count on one of the Nasty Boys. Cactus and Brian get back on the apron and the momentum turns when Sags rakes the face of Sullivan. Sags tags in Brian Knobbs and they begin clubbering Sullivan in their corner! Knobbs taunts Dave Sullivan from inside the ring before tossing his brother at his feet. Kevin barely makes it back in the ring before the ten count. The match moves forward with The Nasty Boys in firm control. The next momentum switch comes when Knobbs goes for the running powerslam but Sullivan drops behind him and shoves Knobbs chest-first into the corner. Sullivan grabs Knobbs around the waist -- Release German Suplex! Both men are down on the mat. They begin crawling toward their corners as the referee begins the ten count. Tags are made on both sides.]

[Cactus Jack comes running in and throws punches to Jerry Sags. He even bites Sags on the forehead! The crowd is definitely behind Cactus Jack during this contest. A sign is briefly shown in the background, reading: 'Vader has a big one! Ricky is sure sticky! Wanna see a Cactus's prick?' The cameras quickly cut away and security moves toward the sign. Cactus Jack sends Jerry Sags over the top rope with another Cactus Clothesline. Both land on the thin blue mats while Kevin Sullivan does battle with Brian Knobbs inside the ring. Jack looks down at Sags and then climbs on the apron. He gives a 'BANG, BANG!' motion and then runs and catches Sags with the Cactus Elbow! Jack gets to his feet and looks down at Sags. He picks up Sags and brings him into the ring. Jack follows him in and Sags catches Jack with a low blow as the referee is distracted with Kevin Sullivan and Brian Knobbs. Sags heads to the top turnbuckle but Dave Sullivan climbs onto the apron. Dave strikes Sags with his crutch, knocking Sags off the turnbuckle. Cactus Jack gets to his feet and grabs Sags -- Double Arm DDT! Jack makes the cover, hooking the leg: One, Two, Three!]

[Tony Schiavone is standing by in the interview area and talks about how this is one of the greatest episodes of WCW Saturday Night in history. He welcomes in his guest at this time which is the B A Double D Badd Man in Johnny B. Badd. Schiavone mentions what happened at the Clash of the Champions where Steve Austin was disqualified, losing to Johnny B. Badd but keeping the United States title. Johnny B. Badd said that he was glad to pick up the victory but he did get a three count on Steve Austin. He said that he showed he can beat the United States champion and take that belt. So he requests Nick Bockwinkel to come down to the interview set. The WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel walks out and shakes hands with both Tony Schiavone and Johnny B. Badd. Bockwinkel says that the referee's decision is final. He cannot change the original referee's decision. However what he can do is schedule a rematch. He says that next week on WCW Saturday Night there will be a rematch between Steve Austin and Johnny B. Badd for the WCW United States title. The winner of that rematch will face Ricky Steamboat at Bash At The Beach for that title. Badd says that he is a BAAAAADD man. He says he wants to make sure that this match has a resolution so he asks Nick Bockwinkel to make this a No DQ, no countout match. Bockwinkel agrees and we have a great match next week!]

[HOOOOOOOOO! A video begins to play showcasing one of the newest signings from World Championship Wrestling. That man is 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan! Duggan is shown visiting some of the United States monuments in Washington, D.C., including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln Memorials. He is also shown standing at the Vietnam Memorial Wall. He gives a salute to the wall and then he is shown wrestling at some house shows, bringing down several different preliminary wrestlers with his running tackle. Loud USA chants can be heard in the background. He is definitely very much a fan favorite. Coming very soon to World Championship Wrestling is Jim Duggan!]

Ron Simmons vs. Sting

[Our semi main event is next as Ron Simmons steps into the ring with the former WCW World Champion Sting. The two men meet in the center of the ring and Sting offers a handshake to the former All American. Simmons takes the handshake and then yanks Sting in to a Short-Arm Clothesline. Simmons looks down at Sting for a moment and then takes full control of the contest. Simmons sends Sting into a corner and chases him in with a corner clothesline. He keeps Sting in the corner, lowering down and sending shoulder blocks into the gut of Sting. Simmons steps back and grabs Sting, sending him to the ropes. Simmons lowers his head and catches a kick by Sting! Sting grabs him by the hair -- one handed bulldog! Sting beats his chest and releases a howl. The crowd is definitely behind the man called Sting. Simmons gets to his feet and charges Sting but Sting catches Simmons, lifting him up and dropping him to the mat with a military press slam. Simmons rolls out of the ring to take a breather and break the momentum. Simmons paces around the ring before re-entering and coming face-to-face with Sting once again. Simmons takes control once again, using several power moves to keep Sting down on the mat. The All-American drops a hard elbow to the chest of Sting and then moves to the second turnbuckle. He waits for Sting to rise and then leaps, catching Sting with a flying shoulderblock. Simmons makes a cover:]

..Kickout!]

[The crowd cheers loudly at the kick out by Sting. A Sting chant breaks through the audience as Ron Simmons continues his control over the WCW Franchise. Around the eleven minute mark, Simmons looks like he might be going for the Spinebuster but Sting stops short and brings Simmons down with a clothesline. Both men collapse to the mat. The referee begins a ten count on both men and the crowd begins a 'Sting' chant once again. Both men slowly move to their feet and meet in the center of the ring, exchanging punches. Sting blocks a Simmons punch and begins firing away. He knocks Simmons back into a corner and then whips him across the ring. Sting releases a howl and then follows him in -- Stinger Splash! Simmons staggers and then drops to the mat. Sting grabs him by the legs -- Scorpion Deathlock! Sting leans back and Simmons struggles in the hold before being forced to submit.]

[From the ring, we move to the backstage area following a security camera. We see Harley Race walking up to the man known as The Guardian Angel. Race tells The Guardian Angel that he is making a big mistake in challenging Vader to one more match. Race says that he is giving The Guardian Angel one more opportunity to back out of that match. The Guardian Angel says he is not backing out from the match and he is going to defeat Vader at the Bash. Race tells Angel that he gave him one final chance. Then The Guardian Angel is assaulted from behind by Vader! The crowd boos in the background as Vader strikes with forearm smashes to The Angel. He rams Angel's head into the wall and then picks him up and body slams him on the floor as Harley Race directs Vader's actions. Vader drops an elbow drop on the fallen Guardian Angel. He gets up and Race tells The Guardian Angel that they will see him at the Bash. Race and Vader walk off as we move to a pre-recorded interview.]

[This pre-recorded interview features Jimmy Hart and Hulk Hogan. Hogan begins by saying, 'you know something, Hulkamaniacs?' We are just a few weeks away from the Bash At The Beach and the match of the century, brother. Hulk Hogan and the power of all the WCW Hulkamaniacs step into the ring against that dastardly Nature Boy Ric Flair. Ric, we all saw what you and Sherri did with Sting, brother. But that's not going to happen at the Bash. Why? Because I've got this man watching my back. He has seen everything that a manager could do, brother. So, Sherri, you just might have to watch your back when it comes to Jimmy Hart. Then it comes down to Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. Oh and all these millions of Hulkamaniacs that are watching in the building and at home live on pay-per-view. Ric Flair, you're going to have to ask yourself one simple question. The question is whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulkamania and all these Hulkamaniacs runs wild over you?!?! Hogan begins flexing and we move back to the ring for our main event.]

WCW World Heavyweight Title Match

Ric Flair defends vs. Ricky Steamboat

[it is main event time and what a main event we have this evening as two men who have wrestled each other many times step inside the ring for the WCW World Heavyweight title. The match begins with both men chain wrestling and going back and forth with neither man gaining a distinct advantage. Finally, Steamboat uses an arm drag that turns into an armbar, holding on tight and keeping Flair down on the mat. The referee asks Flair if he wants to give up but Flair refuses this early in the match. They are both technically sound wrestlers and it continues to show as the match moves forward. The two men move back to a vertical base and Steamboat gives Flair a scoop slam. Ten minutes into the contest, the momentum turns when Flair holds back on the ropes as Steamboat goes for a dropkick. Flair picks up Steamboat and moves him back in a corner, beginning to light up his chest with chops. Flair picks up Steamboat and drops him with a shinbreaker. Then Flair turns his entire focus on the right knee of Steamboat, using yanks on the leg and the ring post to continue this assault. Flair gets the referee's attention and Sensuous Sherri rakes the eyes of Ricky Steamboat, drawing in boos from the crowd. Flair walks back over and pulls Steamboat to the middle of the ring. Flair bounces off the ropes -- Running Jumping Knee Drop. Flair makes the cover, hooking the leg:]

...Shoulder Up!]

[The crowd pops when Ricky Steamboat gets his shoulder off the mat. Ric Flair yells at the referee for a 'slow count.' But then he turns his attention back to The Dragon. Flair picks up Steamboat and places him on the top turnbuckle. The Nature Boy climbs upward and hooks Ricky Steamboat for a Superplex but Steamboat blocks it! Steamboat throws a couple of chops to Flair and then shoves him off the turnbuckles. Steamboat drops down and catches Flair with a spinning wheel kick. The Dragon grabs his right leg, hurting from the focus of Flair on that knee. He uses the ropes to pull himself up and then pulls Flair up. He whips Flair into the ropes and Flair flips up and over the turnbuckles, landing on the apron. Flair runs along the apron and climbs the turnbuckles but Steamboat is there to meet him. Steamboat grabs Flair and body slams him off the turnbuckle! Steamboat begins clapping, getting the crowd into the match. Steamboat catches Flair with a swinging neckbreaker and then heads for the top turnbuckle, climbing slowly. Flair is slowly getting to his feet as Steamboat reaches the top turnbuckle. Steamboat leaps and catches Flair with a top rope cross body block! But Flair rolls through and ends up on top. Flair moves up and backs into a corner, telling the referee to check on Steamboat. In that corner, Sensuous Sherri gives Flair a set of brass knuckles. Flair waits in the corner as Steamboat slowly moves to his feet and walks over -- brass knuckle punch from Flair! Sherri gets the referee's attention and Flair throws multiple punches to the knee of Steamboat with those brass knuckles. Flair tosses the knuckles out of the ring and grabs the leg of Steamboat -- Figure 4 Leglock! Steamboat has passed out! The referee checks on Steamboat and then calls for the bell.]

[The bell sounds and a sign goes up in the background, reading: 'Ric Flair Placed An Order For Dragon-Suade Shoes.. and Bockwinkel Delivered!' Ric Flair refuses to release the Figure 4 Leglock that he has on Ricky Steamboat! The referee yells at him and warns him but Flair grabs the ropes and holds on for added leverage. The crowd boos loudly and Sensuous Sherri enters the ring, grabbing the referee and shoving him down! That's going to cost her! But it looks like Ric Flair might break Ricky Steamboat's leg! The crowd wants Hulk Hogan to come out but are happy when Sting comes running from the back! Sting enters the ring and stares down Sherri before breaking the Figure 4 Leglock. Sting picks up Flair and sends him over the top rope to the floor. He howls as he beats his chest and stands tall, having saved Ricky Steamboat. He calls for the EMTs and Ric Flair grabs the WCW World Heavyweight title belt. Flair raises the belt to boos from the crowd as he stares down Sting from outside the ring. We'll see you tomorrow for WCW Main Event! As the credits roll at the bottom of the screen, we are shown a sign reading: 'I came to see Bobby Walker put in Hard Work!']

If you release The Gambler, I'll stop watching this diary! :p

Why would I release an enhancement talent with a gimmick? :)

WCW World Television Title Match

10 Minute Time Limit

Lord Steven Regal defends vs. Erik Watts

Comment:Regal wins this, Regal should have been pushed higher up the card IRL, Never liked Watts that much.

WCW World Heavyweight Title Match

Ric Flair defends vs. Ricky Steamboat

Comment:Gonna be an excellent match, I say it goes to the time limit. Hopefully Flair isn't holding the belt just to give it to Hogan ,if you bring him in.(I actualy thought about trying to do a WcW 94 w/o bringining Hogan in)

I am definitely a fan of the Lord Steven Regal character. I agree that he should have been pushed higher up the card. Will it happen here? Make sure you tune in and find out. :)

I gave some definite consideration to rewriting history so that Hogan is not part of WCW. At the end of the day, though, he definitely does help WCW. He helps to push WCW toward the top, no matter how much some may say they don't like him now.

I love WCW and can't wait to see what you do with it.

Thanks for the comments and predictions, LordJaguar! I was definitely more of a WCW fan than WWF. Hopefully those emotions shine through in this diary.

WCW Saturday Night Preview!

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/WCWSaturdayNight.jpg

-Welcome to the preview for WCW's Saturday Night television show. We are coming off an excellent show last week where we saw Ric Flair successfully defend the WCW World Heavyweight title against Ricky Steamboat using some tainted means but he got the job done. Nick Bockwinkel has promised a special announcement to start the show so make sure you are tuned in at 6:05pm on TBS for this special announcement.

-The main event for the evening is set as two champions go one on one inside the squared circle. This will be non title action but it will see the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair take on one half of the WCW World Tag Team Champions in Kevin Sullivan. Both of these men will be looking for momentum as we move closer to Bash At The Beach. Which man will pull it off? Make sure you're tuned in to find out.

-We also found out last week that there will be a WCW United States title defense this week on WCW Saturday Night. It will be a rematch from last month's Clash of the Champions contest that featured Steve Austin defending the title against Johnny B. Badd. The winner of this contest will move forward to Bash At The Beach to defend the belt against Ricky Steamboat. Which man will pull off the victory and move on to the Bash and the Dragon?

-Plus more wrestlers in action, including Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes, Lord Steven Regal, Scott Stud and more!
