(Thunderverse Draft) Heart of Texas Rodeo Wrestling

Recommended Posts

Let's give this a try. This is my first dynasty for a fair while. I'm generally flaky, so in an effort to combat this, I'm going for a very low-maintenance style - think similar to infinitywpi's amazing Welcome To The Coastal Zone dynasties. (If it's a tenth as good as they were, I'll be happy.)

I'm playing using the Thunderverse draft mod which MHero did an incredible job of putting together - huge thanks to him for the mod and for running the draft, and to everyone else who took part in it!

My fed is the one I drafted for, Heart of Texas Rodeo Wrestling - background below.

Having tired of his time on the UK independent scene, announcer Matt Connors has moved to America to spearhead a consortium of investors setting up Heart of Texas Rodeo Wrestling. The federation is dedicated to providing classic clashes of the type seen in the Mid-South for decades, with a traditional feel and a place for most types of wrestlers. In an effort to stand out from the pack, they concentrate mainly on tag wrestling and have brought in teams from all around the world to compete.

Product

Traditional Key, Mainstream/Cult/Comedy Medium

Goals from my delightful owner Matt Connors:

Don't go into debt, improve my finances by 2.5 million dollars in the next 2 years (this is PROBABLY not happening...), push Ghost Rider, Jesse Van Holt and Nocturno, don't hire criminals, MMA crossovers, or people over the age of 38. (I managed to grab a couple I'd started negotiating for on short-term contracts before that goal was set, but not going to be able to renew. Damn.)

I'm only going to be writing up the TV shows and PPVs themselves, not the pre/post-show stuff, btw. I'll probably do predictions for the PPVs, but not the TV shows.

HTRW Live From The Ranch

Coming to you live from the SOLD-OUT Centre of the Universe (because I meant to buy a venue called the Rance, but forgot. I think this IS the kind of thing that happened to infinitywpi quite often in the Zone diaries, so I'm taking it as a good sign.)

2,000 crowd.

Our first ever match sees the Furlong Brothers defeat the Manitoba Wrecking Crew, much to the delight of the crowd. (Using 'delight' fairly loosely as 90% of them are pretty indifferent.) Big Al's Welcome To LA is too much for Jason Anderson. (E)

We head backstage, where Cordero Calderon and Stevie Gunn tell Pain & Torture that they'll be coming for the experienced team tonight. This is a car crash of an interview, Calderon sulked at having it scripted so we let him improvise, which was a mistake as he's terrible at it, and Gunn gets confused by it. We need a manager for these two, stat. (D)

A music video shows Towerblock decimating people. (B)

Chelsea Lane comes out prior to her match and fires T-shirts into the crowd. ©

Make Up Or Break Up beat DEATH Model III, Chelsea Lane over Nariko Shiomi by pinfall with a Kiss And Tell. (D-) It's definitely better than the first match, although the crowd still aren't into it.

Jesse Van Holt comes out to congratulate Chelsea, who hugs him, before warning The Ghost Rider that Jesse will be coming for him in the main event tonight. Jesse nods silently, which is pretty much all I trust him to do on promos. (C-)

Jamilia Rose comes out and glares at Chelsea, saying that she's not used to women having to hang around with men to get noticed - but if she HAS to do it, she will. She brings out her new friends Pain and Torture, who glare menacingly at Chelsea and Jesse. ©

Hype video prepares us for Gunn/Calderon vs Pain and Torture, showing highlights of anything we could get our hands on. (D-)

Towerblock destroys BJ Powers in a quick match. (D+)

Post-match, Towerblock sees tag legend Crash in the front row and taunts him as a has-been. Crash hops the guard rail and charges the big man, only to get completely destroyed, doing a stretcher job. ©

The Ghost Rider, backstage in a dark room, tells Jesse Van Holt that tonight will be a life-changing experience for him. (B-)

Pain and Torture's tag experience proves too much for new partners Gunn and Calderon; they isolate the Texan and Pain gets the Torture Rack submission. (C-)

Hype video for tonight's main. (B-)

In an open match which goes just over 20 minutes, and actually gets a crowd reaction, Jesse Van Holt clamps on a Van Holtinator on The Ghost Rider, who passes out, unable to continue. ©

C+ overall, increasing our popularity in 11 regions, and getting a 0.83 rating on TV.

At first when I read this I wondered why Ghost Rider and Jesse Van Holt were hanging around in a dark room together, but then I realize I was being a derp.

HTRW Live From The Ranch, August Week 2.

Coming to you live from the Ranch, this week. I remembered to buy the arena. 3,500 capacity and it's SOLD OUT!

We open up with Nicky Sanders in the ring, passing on a message from the HTRW Board of Directors. Titles WILL BE decided at the first 2 PPVs. In January, there will be a battle royal with every male wrestler who's won a televised match here in HTRW eligible to take part, for the chance to become the first ever Southern Champion. (He reminds the crowd that that means Jesse Van Holt, Pain, Torture, Towerblock and the Furlong Brothers are already eligible.) February's TV shows will see a World Cup of wrestling, with 6 teams from 6 different countries taking part in group stages involving 3 teams each. The winning team in each group will clash at February's Throwdown to decide the first Southern Tag champions. (D-)

PR Future get themselves a place in that battle royal, beating TNT in a quick squash match when Alex hits The Future Is Now on Grinder. (E)

Backstage, Chelsea Lane talks up Jesse Van Holt, claiming he's the first person ever to make the Ghost Rider pass out, and saying he'll do the same thing to Towerblock tonight. He nods silently. Good nodding. ©

Also backstage, Towerblock is walking when we see Burn, tag partner of Crash, who the big man injured last week, storm up to him. Without hesitating, Towerblock drops him with a hard right hand, then follows up with a huge elbow drop, before lifting the veteran up and simply hurling him crashing into some lockers. ©

The Manitoba Wrecking Crew also book their place in the battle royal, beating Strength Through Honour in just over 10 minutes. Jason's Spike Brainbuster on Strength Ogawa is the finish. (E)

The lights go off as Nathan Anderson steps in the ring to celebrate with his brothers. When they're back on, The Ghost Rider is standing outside, staring at the three men. (B-)

Military Discipline are the third team of the night to pick up a win, squashing Nocturno and Utamara. The Americans' greater experience pays off, as they isolate Utamara for much of the match. (E+)

Cordero Calderon and Smokin Stevie Gunn come out, along with new manager Dedrick Ace! Ace tells Pain and Torture that they may have been lucky last time, but his clients want an immediate rematch. (D+)

Pain and Torture respond by blindsiding Calderon and Gunn, hitting them from behind with chairs then stereo-powerbombing them in the aisle. Jamelia Rose sneers. "Rematch denied!" ©

Jamelia Rose beats Alexia Dynamite in a 14-minute bout which is clearly the match of the night so far. The finish comes when she gets a roll-up and pulls Alexia's tights. (D)

Chelsea Lane comes down to complain about the previous match, telling the referee Rose cheated. Unfortunately, the referee's decision is final - even when it's wrong. Lane demands a match with Rose next week so she can get revenge for her friend. (D)

Dedrick Ace announces that while Calderon and Gunn are in no state to compete after that vicious sneak attack, Pain and Torture will STILL have to fight tonight - against HTRW's newest tag team, The Strykers! (D)

The Strykers, with their long history of teaming together, are a much tougher challenge than last week's thrown together team were. Cody and Pain are having off-days but it's still a well-worked tag match, with Danny as the Face in Peril for much of it, before managing to make a hot tag to his brother. Cody comes in like a house on fire, dropping both opponents, and eventually forces Torture to tap out to the Boston Crab. (C-)

Jesse Van Holt does exactly what he said he would, locking in the Van Holtinator until Towerblock passes out. This pair go 16 minutes and the big man looks dead on his feet by the end, but it's a masterful job by Jesse of keeping things going in the clear match of the night. (B-)

C+ overall, increasing pop in 11 regions, and getting an 0.85 rating on TV.

HTRW Live From The Ranch, August Week 3.

Coming to you live from the SOLD-OUT Ranch, this week.

We open up with a hype video for tonight's main event, Cordero Calderon vs Towerblock! (C+)

In our first match, we have a qualifier for the World Cup of wrestling. The Strykers beat Military Discipline in a hard-fought 20 minute bout, Corporal Punishment tapping out to Cody's Boston Crab. The announcers explain that next week, Pain and Torture will face The Furlong Brothers, and the Strykers will go up against the winners at January's Throwdown, with the winners of that match being the representatives for the US in the World Cup. (D+)

Post-match, Calderon and Gunn come out with Dedrick Ace to thank the Strykers for stepping up to fight Pain & Torture last week. Both men are clearly not 100% fit. The five agree to watch each other's back. (D)

Derrick Rollins and Garrett South make their HTRW debuts - without South actually getting in the ring. It's a total showcase for Rollins as he steamrolls Los Phoenix single-handedly, while South jaws with fans on the outside. (D)

Post-match, Rollins and South tell the fans that their first Southern Champion is in the house - both men pointing at themselves. There's a moment's tension before they laugh, and slap each other on the back. (C+)

The Furlong Brothers beat The Fabulous French-Canadians in just over 10 minutes, Al defeating Pascal with the Welcome to LA. (D-)

Post-match, Sandi B and Christina Perez come out, and applaud the winning team. The four celebrate in the ring. (E+)

In our first eight-man match, showcasing the four teams who are already announced for the World Cup of wrestling, PR Future and Strength Through Honour defeat TNT, Super Cool & Prodigio II. The Mexicans are clearly unhappy with the Brits' cheating tactics and never get on the same page, Vidal's No More Pride taking down Super Cool. (E)

Backstage, The Ghost Rider cuts a strange promo, claiming that he will be joined soon by a new follower. (B)

Jamilia Rose gets another tainted win, putting her feet on the ropes to beat Chelsea Lane. It's only 12 minutes long but worryingly, Rose still looks out of breath at the end. (D-)

Post-match, Chelsea Lane cuts a promo saying that Rose clearly has no confidence in herself as she can't win without cheating. Rose shrugs and points out she's 2 for 2. (D+)

In the main event, Towerblock beats Calderon with a Ten Storey Chokeslam. Calderon is still selling the beating from Pain and Torture last week; Towerblock isn't selling much (hey, when you're 38 and haven't done so at all in your career, why start now?) (C+)

Post-match, Towerblock continues to lay a beating down on Calderon, press slamming him to the outside. (B-)

PR Future charge out to make the save but Towerblock is too big for them, beating them both down, and ending the show looking dominant. (D+)

C+, popularity increases in 11 regions, getting 0.85 rating on TV.

<p><strong>HTRW Live From The Ranch, August Week 4.</strong></p><p><strong>

Coming to you live from the SOLD-OUT Ranch, this week.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Nocturno goes over BJ Powers in a quick sprint, hitting the Negro y Blanca for the win. The Mexican vet looks good, while Powers doesn't seem to cope with going all out. (D-)</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, dark room again. The Ghost Rider tells us his new follower will be revealed tonight. (B+)</p><p> </p><p>

Make Up Or Break Up beat DEATH Model I in 6 minutes when Chelsea Lane defeats Yuri Yamanoue by pinfall with a Kiss And Tell. (E+)</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, Lane calls out Jamelia Rose, telling her that was a demonstration of how to win without cheating. Rose rolls her eyes, but Lane then challenges her to a PPV match - saying that she has $5000 that says Rose can't beat her clean. (D)</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, Towerblock says that he's the easy favourite for the Battle Royal at the PPV, and will be the first champion. (B-)</p><p> </p><p>

Military Discipline, in another dressing room, say that they'll be watching each other's backs in the Battle Royal and one of them will end up with the belt. (E)</p><p> </p><p>

In a good brawl, Pain and Torture beat the Furlongs, Pain getting the Torture Rack locked on Harris. The announcers remind us that they'll now face The Strykers at the PPV, with the winners representing the US in the World Cup of Wrestling.(D)</p><p> </p><p>

Stevie Gunn and Jesse Van Holt plug tonight's semi-main, saying that whoever the Ghost Rider has with him, he can't beat them. (C-)</p><p> </p><p>

The Strykers, along with Dedrick Ace, say that they're looking forward to the main event clash with Rollins and South tonight, and then to working together in Sunday's Battle Royal. (D)</p><p> </p><p>

In a six-man tag, Cordero Calderon books his place in the Battle Royal. Teaming with PR Future, their teamwork is too much for Towerblock and Jason and Mason Anderson - as Towerblock brawls with Azaria and Vidal at ringside, Calderon hits Mason with the Pride of Puerto Rico. (D+)</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, Calderon says that the three of them will be too strong for the rest at the Battle Royal, and he'll leave the PPV with the Southern Championship! Vidal and Azaria look slightly confused, possibly because we tried to give Calderon a script but he seemed to completely ignore it. (D-)</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, Rollins and South say that they're in their rightful place in the main event twice this weekend. First they'll beat the Strykers, then they'll end up as the final two in the Battle Royal. ©</p><p> </p><p>

The Ghost Rider introduces his new partner, a blank-faced Nathan Anderson, to go up against Van Holt and Gunn. The commentary team sell that this is the last chance to qualify for the Battle Royal for everyone in the match except Van Holt, who has two wins already. Anderson is clearly the weak link as the two faces isolate him, but after a few minutes, Towerblock comes down to watch the match - and 14 minutes in, seems bored watching. The big man hits the ring, grabbing Gunn and The Ghost Rider and putting the pair down with a double chokeslam - meaning this match is called a double DQ, and as the announce team point out, two of the favourites, Gunn and The Ghost Rider, will NOT be in the title match! (D+)</p><p> </p><p>

The Strykers have a family connection and a lot of experience, but they can't quite cope with Garrett South and Derrick Rollins's cheating ways. It's not even anything major, just constantly wearing both men down with low-level rule breaking. Cody gets isolated and the pair work him over with swift double-teams and illegal manoeuvres, prompting Danny to charge in and allowing South to choke Cody with the tag rope as the referee tries to keep him out. Eventually, Danny makes the hot tag, but Cody is too beat up to come to his rescue as the heels do the same thing to him, with Derrick's Rollins Stone ending things. (C+)</p><p> </p><p>

Nicky Sanders tells us that the Board of Directors have made an emergency announcement after the result of the semi-main - Towerblock has been fined a month's wages for interfering, while Gunn and The Ghost Rider will collide at the PPV, with the winner receiving a title shot at February's Throwdown! ©</p><p> </p><p>

A video plays hyping the Battle Royal. (D+)</p><p> </p><p>

C+, increased pop in 11 regions, getting 0.85 again on TV.</p>

<p>Going to do predictions contests for each PPV. Roughly 48 hours to predict, winner gets to pick a fed (drafted or one of the ones still left in) and I'll recap that month's events for them in my game. In the event of a tie, I'll pick from the winners at random.</p><p> </p><p>

<p><strong>HTRW Throwdown, January Week 4.</strong></p><p><strong>

From The FarHorizons Event Centre</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Fabulous French-Canadians vs Manitoba Wrecking Crew</strong></p></div><p></p><p>

The four start in the ring as a local vocalist sings America The Beautiful; as she finishes the song, the Brasette brothers jump the Andersons. Plenty of heel heat there for the Fabulous French Canadians, with the Andersons placed in a babyface role by default. The match goes just over 12 minutes, with the Andersons initially looking underdogs but coming back strongly to take the win.</p><p> </p><p>

Ten years ago, the tag team would probably have had this one, but it's clear that the veterans are way past their best here. Even the numbers advantage can't save them, as the big man hurls the pair of them around, hitting the Ten Storey Chokeslam on both of them. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Battle Royal for Southern Championship:</strong></p></div><p></p><p>

<strong>Alex Vidal, Big Al, Cody Stryker, Cordero Calderon, Corporal Punishment, Daniel Azaria, Danny Stryker, Derrick Rollins, Garrett South, General Mayhem, Harris Furlong, Honour Katsumoto, Jason Anderson, Jesse Van Holt, Mason Anderson, Nocturno, Pain, Strength Ogawa, Torture, Towerblock.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Lots of teams/factions in this one, with Cody and Danny Stryker working with Cordero Calderon early on and immediately taking it to Towerblock. The Anderson brothers quickly come to the big man's rescue, though, and the six men fight for several minutes, as chaos ensues all around them. Big Al is the star of the early stages, eliminating both members of PR Future, Jason Anderson, and Torture, while Derrick Rollins and Garrett South work together to take out several others, including Strength Through Honour and Corporal Punishment. Jesse Van Holt is looking good and is desperate to get his hands on Towerblock, but the big man keeps out of his way until he's able to attack from behind and throw out both Van Holt and Nocturno as they fight near the ropes. </p><p> </p><p>

The final five are Rollins, South, Al, Towerblock and Cordero Calderon, and with Rollins and South working together, Towerblock signals to the other two, suggesting a temporary alliance. It's an idea which doesn't go down well with the Puerto Rican, though, who unloads on the big man with a fury of punches and clotheslines as Rollins and South double-team Al. Towerblock fights back though, hip tossing Calderon over the top rope, then actually saves Al as Rollins and South are about to eliminate him. Al and Towerblock do form an unlikely alliance for a few minutes and are able to dispatch of the other two, Al clotheslining South to the outside before Towerblock press slams Rollins over the rope and straight on to his friend. The fans are firmly behind Big Al here, but it's not to be - the giant proves too much for him and takes the victory with a running big boot, huge splash, then simply dumping Al to the outside.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Towerblock won a 20 Man Battle Royal in 20:50. The other members of the 'final four' were Big Al, Garrett South and Derrick Rollins, with Big Al being the final elimination. Big Al got the most eliminations over the course of the match. (B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, Stevie Gunn comes out. As Towerblock is presented with the Southern Championship, the veteran stares him down, mouthing the words "1 month." (B-)</p><p> </p><p>

B-, improving popularity in 11 regions. (Somewhat stunningly! Wasn't sure whether to risk the Battle Royal as the main event, but it paid off.)</p><p> </p><p>

I praise Towerblock, Big Al and Garrett South.</p>

Thanks for requests, guys, will sort them out later tonight or over the weekend!

HTRW Live From The Ranch, September Week 1

Coming to you live from the SOLD-OUT Ranch, this week.

A hype video recaps the first ever HTRW Throwdown. ©

Backstage, Towerblock holds the HTRW title aloft and cuts a menacing promo saying that he'll never lose the belt. (A)

In a terrible match, debuting team The Gibson Brothers beat the Mid-Atlantic Maulers, Mike forcing Donnie to submit to a bearhug. (E+)

Garrett South hosts a bikini contest, judging Yuri Yamanoue to be the winner over Glenda Powers. (C-)

In a dark room, The Ghost Rider says that he has plans for Nathan Anderson. (B)

In the World Cup, PR Future get a win over TNT in just 3 1/2 minutes, Vidal hitting The Future is Now on Basher. The commentators remind us that the speed of that victory could be crucial - it's 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw, with the fastest win being the tie-breaker in the event of teams being level on points. (E)

Post-match, Pain and Torture attack PR Future. (D+)

A music video shows Towerblock's path of rage, with career highlights culminating in a replay of the closing moments of last weekend's PPV. (B+)

DEATH Model I beat Mai-Li Kato and Alexia Dynamite, Yuri Yamanoue winning over Mai-Li Kato by pinfall with a Priscilla. (E+)

Rollins & South claim they only lost yesterday because so many different people knew they'd have to work together to beat them. (C-)

In a World Cup match, Manitoba Wrecking Crew beat Super Cool and Prodigio II, Jason going over Prodigio via Spiked Brainbuster. Time is 5:46. (E)

Backstage, Dedrick Ace tells us that Calderon and Gunn are ready for the main event. (D+)

The Strykers beat The Professionals, Cole Walker tapping out to Cody's Boston Crab. (D)

Rollins & South go over Gunn and Calderon, with Gunn and Rollins brawling on the outside as South hits a Southern Justice on Calderon for the win. (B-)

C+, increased pop in 11 regions. 0.85 again on TV.

<p><strong>HTRW Live From The Ranch, September Week 2</strong></p><p><strong>

Despite the name, we're on tour this week, hitting Arizona and the famous Palace El Tropico, where 3,377 people have packed in to see us!</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jamilia Rose beats Mai-Li Kato</strong> in our opener, with a suspiciously fast count from referee Jesus Losada coming when Rose small packages Kato, who was looking on top. (D)</p><p> </p><p>

The three Puerto Ricans cut a promo saying they're planning on ending tonight with the Southern Title. Calderon's promos are becoming a huge issue as they're terrible but he looks like bursting into tears if we try and script him, and they confuse everyone else involved. The commentary team explain that after four wins in a row, you're automatically entitled to a title shot if you request one before you lose or draw a bout, and Azaria won a coin toss between the two members of PR Future to decide who'd use theirs on the Southern Title. (E+)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In the World Cup, Strykers go over Super Cool and Prodigio II </strong>when Cody forces Super Cool to tap out to a Boston Crab after 6 minutes 13 seconds. (D-)</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, Pain and Torture tell us that they beat PR Future into the ground to protest at the unfairness of them getting an automatic place in the World Cup - Puerto Rico's not even a country! (C+)</p><p> </p><p>

Team Blimchan face off in a bikini contest, with Garrett South in charge. Christina wins. (D+)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Calderon and Vidal beat the Fabulous French-Canadians</strong>, Alex hitting No More Pride on Anton for the pin. Joining our commentary team, Al Furlong cheers on the Puerto Ricans and says that he's disgusted by the disrespect shown by the Canadian team to a treasured American song. (D)</p><p> </p><p>

Towerblock cuts a screaming backstage promo where he says that Azaria is out of his league tonight, and the other two Puerto Ricans should have an ambulance on standby. (A)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In the World Cup, Strength Through Honour beat TNT </strong>in 6 minutes 15 seconds, Act of Honour finishing off Grinder. (E)</p><p> </p><p>

Derrick Rollins cuts a solo promo backstage saying that while Garrett's having fun with the bikini contests, DR is all business, and can't wait to beat Jesse Van Holt tonight. (C+)</p><p> </p><p>

Chelsea Lane says that Rollins has made an impressive start here in HTRW, but the Van Holtinator has beaten everyone Jesse has come up against in singles competition, and Rollins will be just another name. Jesse nods. (C-)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a 14-minute match which is more competitive than you might have imagined, Towerblock eventually hits the Ten Storey Chokeslam to put Azaria away. </strong>(C+)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>And in a 25 minute match which is a whole lot more disappointing than we'd expected, Jesse Van Holt goes over Derrick Rollins.</strong> The pair never get on the same page here. Are the wrestling gods angry we didn't put the title on last? Van Holtinator gets the win for Jesse, but this is a real let-down. ©</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, Jesse Van Holt nods as Chelsea says that he's coming after the Southern title, whoever leaves this month's Throwdown with it. Towerblock strides out, and the two men stare each other down. (B+)</p><p> </p><p>

C+ overall, with the two Towerblock angles REALLY saving us from that lacklustre main event, although Azaria doing much better than expected in the Southern Title match helped as well. Increased pop in 11 regions, and our highest rating yet on TV, getting 0.87.</p>

September week 3

We're back in The Ranch, which is sold out again.

South and Rollins challenge Jesse Van Holt and a partner of his choice - he brings out his brother Martin to take them on in the main event! (C+)

Strength Through Honour beat PR Future in 7:40 in the World Cup when Strength Ogawa defeated Daniel Azaria by pinfall with a Strength of Courage. With four points, that puts the Japanese team in the World Cup finals! (E+)

Post-match, Pain and Torture hit the ring and try to attack PR Future, only for the Puerto Rican team's opponents Strength Through Honour to come to the rescue.(D-)

A music video is shown to promote Rollins & South. ©

Chelsea Lane beat Mai-Li Kato in 7:54 by pinfall with a Prom Queen in an even contest fought in a good spirit. (D)

Post-match, Chelsea Lane challenges Jamilia Rose to go one on one with her one more time at Throwdown. No sign of Rose to respond, though.(D+)

A music video is shown to promote The Van Holt Brothers.(B-)

The Strykers beat Crash & Burn in when Danny Stryker defeats Burn by pinfall with a Surgical Stryke. (D-)

Dedrick Ace had an interview hyping his team of The Strykers in the World Cup, saying that what they just did to Crash & Burn is just a preview of what will happen in the next two weeks. (D+)

Towerblock and Pain & Torture beat BJ Powers and Super Cool & Prodigio II in a quick squash when Towerblock defeated BJ Powers by pinfall with a Ten Storey Chokeslam. (D-)

Post-match, Towerblock continues the assault, beating down all three of his opponents as Pain & Torture watch. (E)

The cavalry arrives as Stevie Gunn, the Van Holt Brothers and Strength Through Honour charge out to make the save. Gunn and Towerblock end up facing off across the ring, but don't come to blows.(C+)

Smokin' Stevie Gunn beats Nocturno by submission with a Both Barrells in a good contest. (D+)

Rollins & South beat The Van Holt Brothers in a very even fight, with Derrick Rollins defeating Martin Van Holt by pinfall with a Rollins Stone. Both teams look good, but in the end the Van Holts' tag experience isn't able to take them past the cheating ways of Rollins and South, who constantly double team and manage to pull off chokes and blindside attacks while distracting the ref. (C+)

C+, increasing popularity in 11 regions. 0.84 rating.

As requested by MHero and MJStark.

NAWF:

NAWF sold out the 5,000 seater Boise Entertainment centre for their Sunday Night Showdown, which saw Sebastian Curtis defend the World title against Tanner Ellis (B), although surprisingly the main event was a tag contest seeing newly-signed Roscoe Carmine team with Bobby Ruiz defeat Mo Fury and Wild Bill (C+). Strong angles with Carmine confronting VIP (B-), Curtis brawling with Comrade Dobrenko (B), and a Comrade Nikita/Terry Thunder/Marco de Francesco skit (B-) raised it to a B- overall.

Show of the month, though, was the lead in to the PPV, which saw VIP defeat Carmine in the semi-main (B) and Curtis beat De Francesco to end the night. (B)

In other main events, Bill Hickock beat American Warrior (C-), Carmine beat De Francesco (B-), and most recently Carmine went over Hickock (C+). Current storylines see Warrior and De Francesco feuding, as are Dobrenko and Curtis. Phreak Rockers lost their belts in their first defense, beaten by the Cattle Rustlers of Tanner Ellis and Thomas Beaumont. In addition to Carmine and a couple of refs, they've also brought in Crymydyne under his Poysin alter ego; he debuted with a win over Hugh Mann.

TXW:

Cindy Austin's Triple X Wrestling put on just the one show in August, but it won significant praise, scoring a D overall. The main event saw Red Rock retain his King of New York title against Brooklyn Bully (D+), while other successful title defences saw Crime Scene beat Blade in the Five Boroughs opener (E) and 9th Street Anarchists defend their Deadly Duo belts vs Kings of the Street II (E+).

FKPW:

The Fire Kingdom have been pulling off respectable D- graded shows, rising to a D+ for Disposable Heroes. Highlights of that show saw Okyotio Tsuruya beat Takanori Sakurai to keep hold of his World title (C-), in the match of the month, and Yoshiyuki Jo pair with Hidemichi Futabatei to win tag gold from Giant Hammer. (D-). The smaller shows have seen Tremor defeated twice in mains by Tsuruya, and Tremor and Sakurai both beat SAJI in the other two main events.

IWJ:

Quiet month for IWJ, who are yet to tour, although they have brought in a new colour commentator, the well-respected Goemon Imada.

September Week 4

We head to New England on tour, with the show coming from a sold out Fifth Avenue Sports Club in Connecticut, which holds 2,000 vocal fans.

Pre-show, Yuri Yamanoue damages Chelsea Lane's rental car and refuses to pay for the damage. Having tolerated her messing about with Sara Faust, taking the fatherly approach, I run out of patience and tell her to pack her bags. This does not go down well with the rest of Death Model, but Chelsea's happy with me, and she's a significantly bigger part of future plans than any of those three are.

The Strykers defeat Manitoba Wrecking Crew in a good match, going a quarter of an hour, when Cody Stryker defeated Jason Anderson by submission with a Boston Crab. This puts the Strykers into the World Cup final. (D)

Smokin Stevie introduces his hand-picked opponent for Towerblock, the Ukrainian former mixed martial artist Dmitri Vorobyrov! (E+)

Towerblock introduces HIS opponent for Gunn, former WWWE and CWT wrestler Idris Mwai Foncesca! ©

Rollins & South beat The 24/7 Express in 13:44 when Garrett South defeated Zach Martin by pinfall with a Southern Justice. (D+)

Rollins & South cut a backstage promo saying that while people keep talking about how tag team wrestling is something you need to do for years before you're a master of it, they're so naturally talented that they can beat all these experienced teams despite having only been pairing up a few weeks. (B-)

The Fabulous French-Canadians attack The Furlong Brothers backstage, and leave them down and out. Clearly, the Furlong's comments about the Brassettes disrepecting America haven't been forgiven OR forgotten! (E-)

Smokin' Stevie Gunn is walking backstage, turns a corner, and bumps into Nathan Anderson. Gunn tells him he should stay clear of Ghost Rider; Anderson ignores him. (D-)

Pain & Torture beat Super Cool & Prodigio II when Pain defeats Super Cool by submission with a Torture Rack. (E+)

Super Cool & Prodigio II are in the ring giving an interview. Pain & Torture come out and enter the ring. After some back-and-forth insults they attack, laying Super Cool and Prodigio II out. PR Future come out from the back, hit the ring, and clean house, making the save. (E+)

The Ghost Rider cuts a promo saying that he will take Mason Anderson to greatness. (B-)

A video plays hyping Smokin' Stevie Gunn vs. Towerblock. (C-)

Smokin' Stevie Gunn defeats Idris Mwai Fonseca by disqualification after several chair shots, with Fonseca seemingly getting frustrated and blasting Gunn in the ribs a few times in full view of the referee. (D+)

Towerblock defeats Dmitri Vorobyrov by pinfall with a Ten Storey Chokeslam. The debutant looks impressive, but can't quite pull off the upset. ©

Post-match, Towerblock wants to continue to attack Dmitri, but Gunn races in to save, only to get hit by a huge Ten Storey Chokeslam himself! (D+)

Cordero Calderon charges out to make the save, pulls Gunn out, and a crowd of wrestlers descend to form a protective barrier from the big man. (C-)

C, increased pop in 11 regions, 0.84 rating.

Same predictions contest prize - winner picks a fed, and I'll do a rundown of the last month's in game happenings for them.

HTRW September Throwdown preview

Smokin' Stevie Gunn got his first win in HTRW at the last Throwdown, taking what has to be described as a shock victory over The Ghost Rider to become the number one contender for Towerblock's title. But the big man has looked dominant since winning the battle royal in August, and Gunn was the victim of a brutal attack by Idris Mwai Fonseca, Towerblock's hand-picked opponent for him, just 2 days ago. Does the 45-year-old have the energy left to take Towerblock's title from him, or will the giant's path of destruction continue?

The World Cup is nearly over, and Team USA - The Strykers - will collide with Team Japan - Strength Through Honour, in a match which will also decide our first tag team champions. Both of these teams won both their group matches, and have each lost just one match overall in the first two months.

Pain & Torture were offended that they had to try (and failed) to qualify for the World Cup, while PR Future were put in automatically as the only Puerto Rican team. They've taken out their frustration with backstage assaults, but can PR Future get revenge in the ring?

The Furlong Brothers have made it clear that they were unimpressed by The Fabulous French-Canadians jumping their opponents last month while the patriotic song was still being sung. The Brassettes responded with a vicious backstage attack last week on Live From The Ranch. Now they'll face off in the ring.

The Ghost Rider has some sort of control over Nathan Anderson, who he seems to be moulding in his own image. Will his new protege help him beat Jesse Van Holt and Cordero Calderon?

Idris Mwai Fonseca made an impact, despite losing, when he debuted as Towerblock's opponent for Gunn and brutalised the veteran with chair shots. He'll take on another newcomer to HTRW, the luchador Touchdown.

And in an opener that's sure to start things off with a bang, Derrick Rollins and Garrett South have said that they're so naturally talented they can beat any of the more experienced teams here in HTRW. Will Military Discipline prove them wrong?
