redhilleagle
Hi, I'm just wondering if there are any fans out there of the British scene, and play as British companies? What are your experiences? I'm 11 years in on my created British fed from a 2013 mod. Most of my stars now are re-gens which got me thinking to starting a game from an earlier mod. Does anyone have any recommendations? Anyone fancy chatting about the British scene?
Mootinie
Never played as a British fed but I have been to Revolution Pro. I went mostly to see the NJPW guys but really enjoyed Sha Samuels. Him being called Fat Cantona made me laugh so much. I was also really impressed with Big Damo, he had a fantastic match with Shinsuke Nakamura. (As I type this, I am about to form a British fed on Genadi & Guyver's 2002 mod. Will update as I go)
21maxwell
More so follow the scottish scene. Had a small run with ICW in TEW. Been to 2 TEW shows, and a good few SWA shows.
Winter8905
Always wanted to try and do somthing their.. tried creating promotions at various historical databases but can't get far into it... most of the roster becomes foreign and not enough English talent to really make it a British Promotion. mbroadbent16
i've played in a RW mod with 4FW (based in swindon) was really fun building up the UK wrestlers but only last about 16 months and now i've started again back in US.
Bad Collin
I almost always play as British promotions. I'm a big fan of the British wrestling scene IRL and go to PROGRESS and Rev Pro when I can. Getting to National is usually the biggest problem, I've only had one game recently where the British regions were important enough. I'm currently playing as PROGRESS and I just hit cult and got a TV deal. Greg Burridge, PAC and Zach Gibson are my main guys and Ospreay, Sabre Jr, Paul Robinson and Mark Andrews also do great work for me. I had a Road to Glory game where I resurrected ROF. Again, I just couldn't get to national and the British workers are good but not good enough to put on A* matches. Wade Orson, Beast Bantom, The Ivanoffs, Luke Cool and Merle O'Curle are my top guys in June 2023.
redhilleagle
Interesting. What mods do you use? I must admit I usually "fine tune" the database a little to make Wrestling more important in Britain. I don't whack it to the max but usually raise the minimum levels and put max to 100%
Bad Collin
For my PROGRESS game i'm using Fleisch's real world mod. I recommend it. I'm not against 'cheating' in my current game; the day after I hit cult one of the regions lost importance and I dropped back down. I went straight into the editor and fixed that up. I'll probably do the same when I am 80 pop across the UK and still not at National.
aaronman
<p>I have a RW game I haven't touched in a long time, using Fleisch's RW mod IIRC. Likewise I've struggled getting past Cult, and although as the years have developed I've gotten in some great talent. That next push into National and staying there is really difficult.</p><p> </p><p> Getting a working relationship with WWE, TNA and ROH have helped me boost the star power a bit mind hahaha!! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
d12345
Hey I used some NWF images from here to create an NWF fed in the British Isles from the 2013. I'm 1 year and some in and here's how things are going. I'm 1 or 2 good shows away from growing from Regional to Cult (then I'll be able to sign guys to written deals). I stole some young entertaining 21CW and UEW talent to E.PPA deals. Merle O'Curle puts on awesome matches. He can deliver, but needs a manager to promote matches. Too bad though cause BHGW in Japan stole him from me in the middle of a main event feud with Orson. War Machine is pretty awesome. He's got real good Menace and entertainment. Best I've seen for a super heavyweight in British Isles. Wade Orson is my most over guy and face of the company. D.B.F can get a great storyline out of anyone. Great on the mic and in entertaining bits. Same with Luke Cool. I think U.K. in the Cornelleverse has tonnes of young talent to work with who are unemployed/underemployed. I got a lot of former ROF guys as well. Genocide and Suicide, Highspot and Lowlife, Riddick Jordan, Apollo Prince, JOJI, Hercules, Bam Bam Johansson (if u have a good locker room), my Road Agent's are British Samurai and his apprentice Lauren McKenna, my managers are Mo Adebola (reminds me of Prince Nana), Aurora, Tara Green. My secret weapon is Melanie Florence. If you get her over she can be your GM, Colour Commentator, backstage interviewer, or a manager and she's guaranteed to sell any match for u! Bad Collin
Check out Mark Adonis and Grave Digger, they are both very useful in my current Cornellverse game.
ViperVenom
I love the British Wrestling Scene. I currently live in Lincolnshire and go to PCW and Southside Events as well as ring announcing my local promotion. I always wanted to play a good British game but I always find it very American heavy if you want to succeed and many of the mods aren't very accurate when it comes to the UK workers etc...
