WCW 1997: R Is For Revolution

Turner HQ, March 2001

Three and a half years is a long time in professional wrestling. A hell of a long time. In three and a half years, the strong can rise to the top of an alliance built on deceit...

http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x310/The_Ultimate_Wrestling_Gallery/nWo/nWo003.jpg

The rats jump from the sinking ship, knowing that they, too, have a chance of success if they stop aiming for Vinnie Mac's imaginary brass rings and realise Atlanta's their only way to rebel against the big bad wolf...

http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae118/Lockmark/image_zps6sfyuey2.jpeg

And let's not forget those who are grown in Atlanta, fight in Atlanta, are made into stars in Atlanta...

And all of those, under my control, for one reason, and one reason only: to save the wrestling industry from Vince McMahon, his team of incompetent corporate idiots, and to ensure that no professional wrestler ever has that brass ring too far from their sights.

You may question it, thinking, "What, him?" He'd never jump ship, he's too loyal to Vince, well, Vinnie Mac crossed me one too many times, and I've made him pay for it. Me, a humble native of Oklahoma, putting the biggest wrestling company in the world on the backburner, who would've thought it?

Nitro Prediction Card, 12/01/1997

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/nitro.jpg

Monday Nitro, 1st December 1997

Last week on Nitro, we saw plenty of twists and turns unfold on the road to Starrcade 1997! Hollywood Hulk Hogan and the rest of the New World Order looked to have finally caught when they grabbed him on the way down to the ring from the rafters, but then flummoxed fans when they released that their victim was a dummy, prompting questions about Sting's whereabouts and whether he will be back in time for Starrcade. The nWo has bigger fish to fry tonight, however, as Curt Hennig takes on a mystery opponent in tonight's main event. Last week at World War 3, Ric Flair suffered defeat at the hands of Hennig in a nWo-dominated United States Championship, tonight, he addresses rumours made by the nWo regarding his future when he takes on the seven-foot behemoth known as 'The Giant'. Another man who has been making giant steps in World Championship Wrestling is former NFL star Bill Goldberg, who stole compatriot Steve "Mongo" McMichael's Super Bowl ring last week on Nitro. Tonight, he takes on Tennessee's own Tommy Rich, hoping to increase his winning streak since arriving in WCW. Chris Benoit was targeted by Raven and The Flock last week in a callous attack, during which WCW Television Champion Perry Saturn put him in the Rings of Saturn. Tonight, with their contest at Starrcade confirmed in a Raven's Rules match, Benoit hopes to prove himself capable of winning that contest when he faces recent Flock recruit Kidman. In other news, The Outsiders and The Faces of Fear face off in a number one contenders' match for the WCW World Tag Team Championships, and Larry Zbyszko finally confronts Eric Bischoff over his actions over the last twelve months.

Thought it'd be time to respond to some comments I've received:

Bill Goldberg vs Tommy Rich

Comments: Rich is a great enhancement talent at this point. Great person to teach Goldberg a thing or two.

Thanks for predicting, Jaysin. I have to agree: whilst Rich might be on the decline in terms of ability, he's exactly the sort of guy to face off with Goldberg. One problem I found with his main event run was that he was trained in the Power Plant style: too stiff, limited technical skills and can easily injure other guys. People like Tommy Rich need to be getting in the ring with him and improving his skills so I could potentially trust him with a future run without putting my main guys out of action.

Number One Contenders' Match for the WCW World Tag Team Championships

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash & Scott Hall) vs The Faces of Fear (Meng & The Barbarian)

Comments: Hm.. interested how you use Steiners here.

Thanks for predicting, KnowYourEnemy. I'm a big fan of Rick and Scott, and rightly so, as they're possibly the best tag team to ever grace the squared circle. That being the case means that I want to do them justice in this dynasty, and without giving too much away, I can tell you that the pair have a storyline on the horizon that will have extreme ramifications for the rest of the diary.

Prediction winner gets to sign The Gambler to WCW and push him to the moon? :D

The Gambler's actually already on my roster, I didn't include him on the roster list along with many others due to being an enhancement talent. As for pushing him, the furthest I could ever see him going would be a Barry Horowitz-style mini-push, as Jeff Gann ain't ever holding that Big Gold Belt, despite possessing the putting-over skills as a god.

A recap is played of the events at the end of last week's Nitro, during which the nWo attacked and made a mockery of a mannequin resembling Sting, pulling it down from the rafters and repeating humiliating the man known as 'The Crow'.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Schiavone:</strong> Just last week, the nWo showed they meant business by defacing and humiliating a mannequin dressed like Sting! Tonight, they look to do the same again, as The Outsiders are in with a shot of facing The Steiner Brothers for the WCW World Tag Team Championships at Starrcade, and Curt Hennig faces a mystery opponent.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Heenan:</strong> You're telling me that those two are gonna beat Meng and The Barbarian?! HA! Those two couldn't even look at me straight in the eyes without wanting to tear me apart, what hope have Kevin Nash and Scotty Chico got? As for Hennig, he's not important, and after what he did to Ric Flair at World War 3, it's only fair that Flair gets back to winning ways tonight!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Schiavone:</strong> But Flair's out here tonight facing The Giant! He can't possibly fight those two men in the same night! </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Heenan:</strong> He's got fighting spirit, just like that young Canadian, Chris Benoit, who looks to cripple The Flock tonight when he faces Kidman, and Goldberg, who was smart enough to take Mongo's one achievement away from him. </p><p> </p><p>

Before Schiavone can respond, this music hits:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hogan:</strong> You see, it's simple, brother, there are three types of people in WCW. There's the New World Order, there's the guys out back who job to the nWo, and there's you lousy bastards who are stupid enough to buy our merchandise, buy tickets to see us, yet you boo us, brother? We're the bonafide champs round this dump, you should be thanking us!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hennig:</strong> Thanking us for taking out your pantomime villain, Sting, so perfectly! And I'll tell you something, if that guy's idiotic enough to face Hollywood Hogan at Starrcade, a man who is as close to perfection as one can be, without being me, of course, then the nWo can't account for what the man with twenty four inch pythons will do to him. (Fans start chanting Ric Flair's name) Shut up! If Ric Flair wants to take his walking stick and his false teeth, he can be my guest in tonight's main event, in which I'm gonna be issuing an open challenge! </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hogan:</strong> Now, time for my own little proposition. Sting, you've had your fun, brother, you've paraded around with your little baseball bat for twelve months now, and it's got you nowhere but staring death right in the face. So, to cut long story short, brother, I want you in this ring, tonight! Forget nWo, forget WCW, forget Starrcade, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Sting, 7000 brainwashed idiots and millions watching at home for this lousy piece of trash!</p><p> </p><p>

Hollywood throws the WCW World Heavyweight Championship down on the ground, and tells Bischoff to pick it up, which he does reluctantly. Hogan, Bischoff and Hennig leave the ring, whilst The Outsiders stay inside to wait for The Faces of Fear, who they will be facing in a number one contenders match for the WCW World Tag Team Championships.</p><p> </p><p>

The Outsiders (Scott Hall & Kevin Nash) vs The Faces of Fear (Meng & The Barbarian)</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

This match is an even encounter, with Bobby Heenan commenting that this is only because the nWo haven't got involved yet. Although the nWo do not get involved with the match, Scott Hall manages to steal the win in 12:31 with a Outsider's Edge on The Barbarian following a lowblow by Kevin Nash.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, The Faces of Fear are livid. They march up to The Outsiders and square up to them, drawing a large pop from the crowd. </p><p> </p><p>

The WCW Commissioner, Larry Zbyszko, comes out to prevent the attack:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Zbyszko:</strong> Might I just remind you that your jobs are on the line, here? (Fighting stops) Good, good. Now, to get to business, I am furious that The Outsiders have once again stolen a win from a much more worthy opponent in The Faces of Fear, who would've actually tested Rick and Scott Steiner at Starrcade. Now, after much deliberation, I have made the decision to change The Outsiders' win to a no-contest!</p><p> </p><p>

Hall and Nash are furious that they have been swerved. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hall:</strong> Now cut to the chase, little mang. You've just gone from having two over-qualified number one contenders to no contenders at all. Damn, all those punches from Bruno Sammartino must've really messed with your brain. So, how about my friend keeps this short and sweet-</p><p> </p><p>

Kevin Nash blasts Larry Zbyszko with a Jackknife Powerbomb, before grabbing the mic:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nash:</strong> So, Rick, Scott, you got a tough choice to make, fellas! Do you want me and 'The Bad Guy' to end you for a third time, or are you going to have to go through a WWF Jobber to The Stars and his full-on jobber cousin? You don't have to decide NOW, but I've got a proposition for you! Next week, we're gonna come out here, with the contracts for the WCW World Tag Team Championship match at Starrcade. Whichever contract you choose to sign, be it for us or them, will decide who your opponent's gonna be. Oh, and just one word of advice: take out an insurance policy, because no one's leaving this ring in one piece.</p><p> </p><p>

The Outsiders drop their mics and goad The Faces of Fear, before turning around. Meng then plants Scott Hall with a dropkick, before The Barbarian hits Kevin Nash with a clothesline. Meng points to the WCW World Tag Team Championships and then back towards The Barbarian, before also leaving the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

When we return to Nitro, Raven is the ring with his Flock members, Kidman, Perry Saturn, Lodi and Sick Boy. He addresses the Knoxville faithful on what he perceives to be greed raging through WCW:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Raven:</strong> Greed for gold is unacceptable. Those who wish to win gold must bide their time earning it, like my lost soul, Perry Saturn, who sweated for years to be accepted by you all, but, like Chris Benoit, you turned your back on him. So he came to me, and I granted him eternal life. Chris Benoit, on the other hand, has never earned anything. Life came to him on a silver platter, like the ones that you fans gorge yourselves on. He didn't have to worry about acceptance, he didn't have to fight his corner to get to WCW, he sat and he waited and the rich man told him to come on. Perry Saturn sits, Perry Saturn waits, the rich man throws a dollar in his face and tells him to get on his way! That's what Chris Benoit never had, and that's why on December 29th, four weeks from now, Perry Saturn will be on Monday Nitro, still World Television Champion! </p><p> </p><p>

Raven then sends one of his charges, Kidman, into the ring, intending to put him in front of Chris Benoit. 'The Canadian Crippler' makes his way into the ring, and the match begins:</p><p> </p><p>

Raven's promo appeared to instil some confidence into Kidman, as he put up a considerable fight against his much more experienced opponent. However, Benoit was determined to see his crusade against The Flock through, and a clothesline after 06:57 was enough to see the young rookie off.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, Chris Benoit celebrated his victory, but his joy would be short-lived. Perry Saturn came up behind him and took him down with a Russian legsweep, before applying the Rings of Saturn to his opponent. As 'The Canadian Crippler' screamed in pain, Raven took a microphone and laid in the ring, next to his victim:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Raven:</strong> I've had a rough life, I've been beaten down countless times by the establishment, I've been abused, lied to by my closest friend, and you still think you can shun me? You still think you're the real crippler? You worry about Starrcade, you worry about Perry Saturn crippling you, but you won't even get that far!</p><p> </p><p>

Raven throws the microphone into Chris Benoit's face and instructs Saturn to get off his Starrcade opponent, who lies in the ring, unconscious. Sick Boy, Lodi and Kidman pick up their opponent and carry him backstage in the same way that pallbearers carry a coffin, leading him out of the arena.</p><p> </p><p>

When we return to Nitro, albeit with the addition of Mike Tenay on commentary, we are immediately sent over to an interview with Steve 'Mongo' McMichael by 'Mean' Gene Okerlund:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Gene:</strong> Steve McMichael, just last week, Bill Goldberg stole the ring that commemorates your Super Bowl win. Do you intend to get it back when you face him at Starrcade, or are you solely focused on defeating the man himself first.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mongo:</strong> Well, first of all, Mean Gene, I've got a few things to set straight. Last week, when Bill Goldberg took my ring, he took something else away from me. My dignity! That ring showed off my Super Bowl-winning talents, and I'm not a proud man without it. Without that ring, I'm just some putz from Chicago who maybe made it to the big time. With it, I am Steve 'The Football and Wrestling Icon' McMichael, and that's something Goldberg is gonna find out when I knock some pride out of him and get my ring back!</p><p> </p><p>

McMichael then storms off set, much to 'Mean' Gene's shock. The commentary team attempt to regain their composure (with Heenan close to laughter), as McMichael's Starrcade opponent, Bill Goldberg, is in action next.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, Bill Goldberg celebrates his emphatic victory with the fans, when Steve McMichael appears at the top of the aisle to a chorus of boos. Mongo makes a ring gesture to Goldberg, which prompts further (unintentional) laughter from the crowd, to which Goldberg simply responds by screaming, "WHO'S NEXT?", inviting his Starrcade opponent to try something. When we return, WCW Cruiserweight Champion, Eddy Guerrero is sat in a darkened gym, alone. He turns to the camera and cuts an honest promo:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Eddie:</strong> You know where we are, holmes? This is the gym where me and Dean Malenko used to train together, before he stabbed me in the back, ese. We'd come here every day, and we'd teach each other a thing or two, you know? And over the weeks, months and years of training as partners, I learned to respect Dean Malenko for what he truly was: a fantastic in-ring talent with superb technique, and a great man to work with. Granted, in the past, we've had a stormy relationship, but I hope that Dean respects me in the same way I respect him, and while I have a reputation for lying, cheating and stealing, when it comes down to it, all of that goes out the window at Starrcade. Dean, I want a fair fight, holmes, and I hope you'll bring one too, so we can tear down the building once again, just like in Philly.</p><p> </p><p>

When we go back to the arena, 'Easy E', Eric Bischoff is in the ring. He smiles and takes in the crowd's jeers, before speaking:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bischoff:</strong> Wow, you guys are tough, I mean, really tough. You'd have thought all you carny folk would be down at the Knoxville slaughterhouse right now, rather than being blessed with my presence. But I'm not here to taunt, hell no. I'm here to see the greatest United States Champion of all time, Curtis Hennig, take on a mystery opponent and crush him like 'the man' that he is. </p><p> </p><p>

Upon this, Lex Luger's music hits, to an almighty pop. He simply stands at the bottom of the aisle, smirking:</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://media.photobucket.com/user/joehelmer/media/WCW%20dynasty/Wrestlers/LexLuger5.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l296/joehelmer/WCW%20dynasty/Wrestlers/LexLuger5.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Luger:</strong> Hey, Eric, you've got one match still to wait, cause Flair's facing The Giant right now! But that ain't why I'm out here! You and the nWo have been destroying WCW for too long now, and it's about time you sampled 'The Total Package'. Face me at Starrcade, Bischoff, and let me show you what a real 'Torture Rack' is!</p><p> </p><p>

Bischoff ponders this thought for a moment, before finally speaking:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bischoff:</strong> Well, Lex, I would face you, but I'm not medically clear, of course, but I know two guys who will, provided you find a man willing to take them on. </p><p> </p><p>

Before Luger can react, Vicious and Delicious come out, and Scott Norton takes Lex Luger with a vicious powerbomb! The pair beat on Luger, rendering him a bloody mess at the bottom of the aisle. EMTs come out, as Bischoff smirks, apparently pleased with himself:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bischoff:</strong> Well, Lex, who's the stupid one now, buddy? The nWo will bring you down, and I don't care what it takes, but you are a disease to this industry, and come Starrcade, Vicious and Delicious are going to wipe you off the face of the earth! </p><p> </p><p>

Bischoff then leaves the ring and joins Tony, Bobby and Mike in the commentary booth for the next match. </p><p> </p><p>

Both Ric Flair and The Giant are members of Team WCW, and this shows, as neither seem to fully get in the match, instead focusing on Eric Bischoff at ringside, who sits smugly at commentary, knowing he is safe from a potential attack. This distraction proves costly for The Giant in particular, who falls victim to a dropkick and pinfall in 12:09.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Flair:</strong> So, there's been a lot of stuff going round, saying that the 'Nature Boy' is past, that good ol' Ric Flair is on his last legs. And, if I'm honest, I've been feeling that way too. The last eighteen months, the nWo have made my life a living hell, and the Nature Boy of the past would've dealt with that. But I'm not the Nature Boy of the past. I've slowed down in the ring, I've not been a long-term champion for years, and quite frankly I should be considering retiring. </p><p> </p><p>

The fans notably gasp, prompting chants of "DON'T GO RIC!" At this point, Eric Bischoff gets in the ring, sarcastically applauding Ric Flair.</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://media.photobucket.com/user/TheWho87EWR/media/Wrestlers/E_Images/Eric_Bischoff-4.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w15/TheWho87EWR/Wrestlers/E_Images/Eric_Bischoff-4.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bischoff:</strong> Bravo, Ric, bravo. It's taken you the best part of four years, but you've finally admitted that the nWo are better than you, and better than WCW. Hell, by doing this yourself, you're a surefire WCW Hall of Famer, and the New World Order would be overjoyed to book your last match in personally-</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Flair:</strong> Hold on, Bischoff, you've got this wrong here. You see, what I was <em>going to say</em> is that I'm not retiring, oh no, you don't get rid of the Nature Boy recently. No, I'm gonna face up to my demons! WOOO! Eric Bischoff, I want a match with an nWo member at Starrcade 1997, one who has dogged me and others for twelve horrible months. This man is a fella just me, who is coming to the end of his career, like me, who has won championships all around the world, and is a pro wrestling legend. And, seeing that you want me gone so badly, we'll make it a career vs career match!</p><p> </p><p>

Bischoff smiles, clearly pleased at gaining the opportunity to end Ric Flair's career.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bischoff:</strong> I'll grant you the match, Flair, it's pencilled for Starrcade. But I need to know which member you'll be facing. I mean, it can't be Hogan, The Outsiders, Curt Hennig or me, can it?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Flair:</strong> I fought this man in a match for the ages back up north, and I'm gonna do it again, but this time I'll win. I want Macho Man Randy Savage!</p><p> </p><p>

The fans go wild at the possibility of this match, as Bischoff freaks out! </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bischoff:</strong> You're not getting him! Savage's a fundamental part of the nWo! </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Flair:</strong> Well, that's a mighty shame, Bischoff, because I've already gone above you! Last week, I went to 'the man behind the company', 'Billionaire' Ted Turner, and he hasn't just granted me the match, he's ensured that I get a fair and unbiased special guest referee! WOOOOO! And he's got a front row seat for Starrcade, so there'll be no nWo shenanigans either!</p><p> </p><p>

Flair leaves the ring and walks down the aisle, clearly confident that he has shackled the Executive President. Bischoff just stands in the ring, crestfallen, as we go to a commercial break.</p><p> </p><p>

When we return, Curt Hennig is in the ring, anticipating his opponent for tonight. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hennig:</strong> So, it's finally here, I'm going to defend my United States Championship against a mystery competitor. Now, I don't care who this man is, what he wants from me, or why he dares to face the nWo, but what I do care about is the belt. Greats of professional wrestling have worn this belt, and I'm just one of them. Which is why, I urge you, mystery man, not to mess with perfection!</p><p> </p><p>

Hennig smirks and strolls the ring, waiting to see if his mystery opponent arrives. He waits for a number of seconds, before this music hits:</p><p> </p><p>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/quTz8PZMb2g" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/quTz8PZMb2g"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd goes wild as <strong>The British Bulldog</strong> returns to WCW after four and a half years away! Davey Boy poses for the fans, before focusing his attention to Curt Hennig, who issues for his former foe to enter the ring, so that the match can start. </p><p> </p><p>

This match is an even encounter, with Davey Boy having the early momentum as a debutant, and Curt Hennig looking to retain by all means necessary. The match was even until the closing stages, when Curt Hennig hit Smith with a lowblow. He then prepared for a powerslam, when the lights go out. The crowd goes wild, believing it to be Sting, but when the lights come back on:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Schiavone:</strong> It's DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE! And he's planted Curt Hennig with a Diamond Cutter. </p><p> </p><p>

With the referee in plain sight of the attack, he has no choice to call for the belt after 09:27.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, the nWo storm the ring and surround Diamond Dallas Page and Davey Boy Smith:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>DDP:</strong> Now, hold on, Hogan, this wasn't my doing. I was already on my way down here when the lights went off!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hennig:</strong> If that's the case, maybe your buddy Sting will help you!</p><p> </p><p>

The nWo drag both DDP and The British Bulldog down and carry out a heinous attack on both men. Hogan repeatedly screams, "WHERE ARE YOU NOW, STING?", as he savagely beats down on his victims, before halting the attack to spraypaint nWo on their backs, as Nitro draws to a close.</p><p> </p><p>

(71)
  • We go to a vignette with Raven, in which he torments Chris Benoit, saying that his new disciples will take good care of him, adding that they will be introduced to WCW audiences in due course.(79)
  • In the second match of the evening, Dean Malenko (a close friend of Benoit) defeats Sick Boy by submission in 07:45 with a sleeper hold. (63)Post-match, Malenko challenges Raven and Perry Saturn to a match on Nitro for Benoit's freedom, stating that he has Eddie Guerrero in his corner. (67)
  • The debut of a new WCW superstar is announced for Nitro's main event, stating that he will shake the very "foundations of WCW to the core".

  • Steve 'Mongo' McMichael is in action next, as he falls victim to Chavo Guerrero in a close encounter marred by Goldberg's interference after 06:18, allowing Chavo to hit the Frog Splash for the win. (59)

This week's feature focuses on two men passed over by the World Wrestling Federation, Dave Bautista and Lance Storm, in their attempts to make it to stardom. (53)
  • WorldWide's main event is a WCW Tag Team Championship match between The Steiner Brothers and The Public Enemy, which the Public Enemy win by count-out when Scott Steiner suddenly hotfoots it down the aisle, allowing the brothers to retain the championship despite the loss. (76)

Nitro Prediction Card, 12/08/1997

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/nitro.jpg

Monday Nitro, 8th December 1997

Last week on Nitro, all hell broke loose, as we had two new matches announced for Starrcade. Lex Luger and a mystery partner will be taking on the nWo's Vicious and Delicious, whilst in a match sure to be legendary, Ric Flair will face off with "Macho Man" Randy Savage in a career vs career match. Meanwhile, this week looks set to provide some interesting developments on the road to WCW's flagship event, as a new performer arrives, straight from up north, to face Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in our main event. Randy Savage's future may be in doubt, but the Macho Man looks to impress Eric Bischoff tonight, when he takes on Ray Traylor. In order to protect their joint ally, Chris Benoit, the two competitors in the Cruiserweight Championship match at Starrcade, Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero reluctantly team up against Perry Saturn and Raven. Elsewhere, The Giant may have lost last week against Ric Flair, but the behemoth looks to recover some of his lost form tonight against the resurgent Disco Inferno. In the other match tonight, The Faces of Fear take on a mystery tag team, also up north.

I like that commentary team you got on Saturday Night!

They seemed like an absolute perfect fit, Tenay as the know-it-all, insightful announcer, and Piper's just Piper, really. If it wasn't for Schiavone and Heenan being so damn irreplaceable, I'd have put them on Nitro :D

Randy Savage vs Ray Traylor

Comments: Big Botch Man to job for a spell until you release him, I imagine.

Whilst Mr. Guardian Angel/The Boss/Big Bubba may have a tendency to botch, I have a slight affinity towards the man, as his earlier feuds with Hogan and Savage and Nailz were key parts of me becoming a mark in early life. I'd also like to keep him for as long as possible, just to prevent Vinnie Mac using him in his amazing heel phase.
