This is the new Goldenverse thread This mod is a fictional mod that will take place in 1960, when wrestling is beginning to catch fire in Europe (including UK) and just reaching USA. These are the main promotions of the mod: American World Wrestling Federation: The American World Wrestling Federation (AWWF) was founded by Stanford Fletcher. a famous war veteran. The company was designed to promote American nationalism and patriotism. All of the traditional patriotic elements one would expect from wrestling make an appearance here. Former soldiers, muscular men waving around the American flag fighting evil foreigners with a family friendly product. Mostly because of Fletcher's fame, the AWWF quickly became the most popular promotion in America. It is said that they are not far from a TV deal. Adam Vermogen Promotions: AVP was created by and named after the famous german inventor Adam Vermogen. Vermogen decided that the US would be a better place to open his promotion then Europe, since the market was less crowded. The promotion uses the famous traditional wrestling style created by the EPWA and it seems to have great potential to become big in the US. The promotion has some "ties" with the EPWA but is not considered as an official member of the alliance, something that may change in the future. Texas Southern Wrestling: Texas Southern Wrestling was founded by Rob White and immedeatly declared as property of the White Enterprises, created exclusively to produce content to their Network: Deep South Productions. The Company uses a rowdy southern style that connects well with their wrestlers and gimmicks, mixing traditional values with some realistic entertainment. TSW is known for being a regional company, normally restraining themselves to their home state of Texas instead of growing to the rest of USA. This is supposed to maintain distance from the "USA War" between AWWF and AVP, if it's due to respect or fear is still unknown. British Unified League: The British Unfified League was created by a unification of all the major British wrestling promotions in the 1930s. Seeing all of the major British stars from different companies clash drew massive crowds to their initial events. In the 1940s business returned to normal for British wrestling, but intrigue returned upon the BUL joining the EPWA together with the emergance of Jonathan Gould. With a host of new and old stars, and its strong political position in the wrestling world the BUL looks to grow further. Irish Whip Wrestling: Irish Whip Wrestling was founded by the most legendary Irish wrestler of all time, Brock Fannon. For years Fannon wrestled with his shoot fighting style all across Europe. After being asked to change his style one to many times because of injuries to his opponents, he cut all ties with the EPWA and created IWW. IWW focuses mostly on pysically intense, blood spilling, hardcore action. The style was a staple of Brock Fannon's career, now engraved in his own promotion. Anyone who fails to adapt to the rough style will not last long in IWW. The promotion has grown quite successful during its tenure. It maintains complete control of Ireland, and threatens to spread into Great Britain territory, a territory under the EPWA's control. German Wrestling League: The German Wrestling League was formed after the consolidation of most of the small wrestling promotions in Germany, influenced by the dominance of WCC at the time. They are notable for being the first promotion to heavily feature the "klatschen" (pure) style,. Perhaps even more significant, the GWL can be credited with forming the EPWA which resulted in the destruction of the WCC. Despite only being a regional company, the GWL has notoriety across Europe for being the largest partner of the EPWA. What happens in the GWL impacts all of the other promotions in the EPWA because of their tight alliance and the champion is almost always employed in the GWL. It is clear that the GWL has the political advantage in the EPWA. It is possible for them to take on the old role of WCC and expand outside of Germany because of this notoriety in Europe, although, this would require a change in ownership, as the current one has proven to be adamantly conservative. Russian Wrestling Association: The Russian Wrestling Association was created by the famous broadcaster Eurosport, to produce exclusive wrestling to them, the company is monitored by the CEO of Eurosport's wrestling division Nikolai. Like most members of the EPWA, they use the Traditional style as their base but adds a mix of technical puroresu to the product. In just 4 years, they became a Juggernaut of the wrestling industry, and with the most money in the whole together with being the first wrestling company to have a live TV Show, it looks likely that they'll grow even more. World Championship Combat: WCC was created in early 1910 and slowly grew to be a dominant force in the wrestling business. It had a host of legendary matches to its name, large attendances and a large roster. It looked like the WCC would have European domination. The fatal error came from a miscalculated expansion period. WCC began to expand outside Germany to moderate success, but a few injuries weakened them enough to where other companies were able to survive, and align against WCC, forming the EPWA. The EPWA did all in their power to steal the stars and prestige of the big WCC. This caused the company to collpase just 4 years after the imergence of the alliance. Most people use this as a signal to never cross ways with the EPWA. The Mod will have Europe, UK and USA as active areas (as they are the areas where wrestling was popular in 1960 with the mod timeline) and this is how each region looks: USA: AWWF and AVP are in a war for dominance, both companies have the greatest talent in their hands and nobody is having the upper hand at the moment. TSW is trying to keep distane from the war and negotiated non-agression pacts with both AWWF and AVP.companies like CCW, CWC, SPW, ROV and ASW are inovating with creative products for the time and reaching closer and closer to reach Regional. a new company named All Out Nonstop Impact has opened, they are quite small but with a powerful businesswoman as owner and the best indie talent, they could grew to big competition. UK: BUL has been warned by the EPWA that they should not get into war with IWW as they have bigger problems in Europe, with aging talent and growing competition, IWW is taking advantage to make the best out of their shows. SWC and RMW are just standing around. Europe: the European Proffesional Wrestling Alliance (EPWA) continues to grow, with a company in each territory, they are preparing to take over Europe by storm, but new challenges like the entertainment promotion FWE, the controversial SWF and the adult-oriented NWW are showing to be worthy oponents with young raw talent to transform into stars while EPWA continues reliyng on their 40 year old veterans, something that may cause their fall in the future.
