It's January 1st, 2016 and The Draft has just ended. The Draft created 14 companies and one of these companies is New England Wrestling or NEW for short. They are owned by "Rough Justice" Tommy Cornell, who drafted a wide variety of wrestlers from veterans like Ricky Dale Johnson to young up and comers like Sir Winston Watoga. Cornell even held a press conference after the draft was over, here are some of the highlights:

Grimm promises great wrestling and great entertainment. Before he can continue, Tommy Cornell comes down to the ring to a huge chorus of cheers. Cornell grabs a microphone and says he doesn't care if the idiot fans like him. Grimm tells Cornell that he should be getting ready for his main event NEW World Heavyweight Championship Tournament match instead of coming out here and moaning about the good people of Connecticut. Cornell responds by saying that he shouldn't even be in this tournament, he should just be given the NEW World Heavyweight Championship because he is that damn good! Before he can continue, Ricky Dale Johnson comes down to the ring to a huge chant of "RDJ! RDJ! RDJ!" and grabs a microphone. Johnson says that Cornell shouldn't be so arrogant and he tells him to back up his words. Cornell says that he has already has had enough of this and starts walking out of the ring. Grimm tells him, and everyone else, before he leaves that tonight Cornell will take on RDJ in the main event! The crowd goes crazy, RDJ looks pleased, and Cornell is furious as we cut to commercial.</p><p>

Findlay was definitely on my list to push, but trust me there will be someone bigger who will get an injury later on.

 

Shark & Titan are big, that's for sure. Findlay was always better in the ring. When he gets back, it will be a good day for NEW.

Aaron Andrews comes down to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd. Andrews grabs a microphone and tells the fans that he is here to kick a** and take names. He says that will start tonight when he takes down Rick Law in the main event. The crowd go crazy at that thought, but before Andrews can continue....

Police sirens sound and signal the arrival of Rick Law. Law grabs a microphone and tells Andrews to respect his authority. Law says that he will wipe the floor of Andrews and ultimately become the first ever NEW World Heavyweight Champion. Andrews responds by saying that even the authorities can't stop him from becoming champion. Law doesn't take too kindly to that and he goes for a Long Arm of the Law on Andrews, but he ducks it and hits a springboard uppercut! Law stumbles out of the ring and up the ramp as Andrews looks victorious.

In A Mysterious Location

After that match we are taken to a mysterious place. Smoke fills the screen as Aldous Blackfriar begins to talk. Blackfriar tells a story about a demon who rose up from the underworld and into the land of the living. That demon caused pain to whoever he saw. Blackfriar says that demon's name was Scythe....

As Blackfriar continues to talk about how Scythe was a monster of immense proportions, Scythe appears behind Blackfriar. Blackfriar turns around and notices Scythe. Blackfriar explains that he was the one brought Scythe back into the land of the living and now they will conquer NEW. Blackfriar tells the crowd to "FEAR!" as the shot suddenly cuts off.

A message appears on screen reading "FROM OFF THE COAST OF CONNECTICUT." It then cuts to Paul Huntingdon on his private yacht with another message reading "TWO WEEKS AGO." Paul starts speaking saying that he has been drafted to NEW because he is the only man who should properly hold the NEW World Heavyweight Championship, like a gentleman. Huntingdon then goes on to talk about his opponent in the first round of the NEW World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, Des Davids. He says that Davids is just a failed football player and should of never entered the world of wrestling and in two weeks he will prove that to the world.

Huntingdon is one of those guys who is here for his entertainment value more than his wrestling abilities. NEW being a Pop > Performance company means that people like Atom Smasher & Paul Huntingdon might get pushes over someone like Joshua Taylor, if he ever came here.
