Creating A New Developmental Company..

Recommended Posts

What do you choose when setting up a Developmental Company? Money, Prestige,Popularity,Production..I know you don't want it to grow and go on it's own so you don't want to give it too much money, prestige, and popularity. And I know you choose "Property Of"whatever your Company is.But that's about it. I'm trying to set up a Dev. using the Editor before I start my game.Help!

I used to spend as much as I possibly could to open up the biggest size I could manage. But I find that its relatively unnecessary. I actually start them at the smallest possible size, but start a couple. How effective this works is dependent on some factors - location, schedule, product, and quality of prospects. But I found in testing that the smallest size tends to grow pretty quickly.

I tend to put child promotions in regions where they won't have other promotions to compete against, at least immediately. I typically use a touring schedule - although this can be damaging to the prospects if you have an exhausting product. And I typically match the child company product to the main company, but a performance based or equal product is usually most effective in faster growth unless you have a lot of popular workers to stock the roster with.

In several tests with WCW in June of 2001, I've given them child promotions with zero starting popularity and about 10-15 good prospects. Within 2 or 3 years, they are at regional on their own merit.

Don't really need to worry about money for them. I didn't realize this for a long time, but if they incur a loss, its transferred to you as the parent company. So you can't have them go out of business. And using the editor to give them a big chunk of money would probably be useless as I don't imagine even a flashy owner is going to spend much differently with a child promotion.

I also don't worry about production values. If they aren't in direction regional battle with another promotion, it won't matter. And if they are, the person you've assigned as the owner should take care of it.

At least in TEW 13,if you gave them a lot of money it would go to the Parent promotion in the end of the month.

If my developmental territory is a child company and hiring its own talent, what are the chances they bring in decent guys? Or will they literally sign anyone to plug the holes? I've never really used a developmental territory much, so trying to work out how useful they are. I'm just not sure I've got the time to scout all the future talent myself, least I can't be bothered at this stage!

In my Game i made a Development wich focus on Pure Wresling..to get up those Performance and Wresling skills and also shoot up the Popularity of Workers...it started as a Local Company but now is already at small..with a Trainer (merle o Curle) who has very good Wrestling skills and get my Raw talent to b+ Matches (by this i mean guys like doomsday and Gravedigger)

their Title is held also held by him and is at 100 Prestige.

And guys who have already good Wrestling skills are shooting up Popularity and start as solid Midcarders in your Main company.

Really fun to Play with development systems in this TEW <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I will be creating a developmental territory very soon. I am basing it in my home state of Kansas (yes, I know that having a developmental territory in Kansas for WCW which is based in Atlanta makes no sense, but Kansas is my hometown and that's what I want to do, lol) and I'm wondering a few things.

Is it possible to set it up so that the AI only runs shows in Kansas and nowhere else? If so, how would I do that?

2nd, I know with a developmental territory, I am in charge of finding all the workers, but the AI books everything. I'm ok with this, but my question is, I still have WCW Saturday Night as a B show, I wasn't able to cancel the deals I had with it. So I'm trying to figure out what to do about it. My plan was to have all my openers and enhancement talent moved to the developmental territory, and then just call a couple up for a squash match on WCW Saturday Night every week, but I'm not sure if that would work or not. Anybody have an idea what I could do here?

If this question needs to be moved to the booking thread, please go ahead and move it. Thanks.

From the child company tab, go to their schedule. make sure they have 12 monthly events (one each month). you can then edit each event to only be run in a certain area using the fix location option. This should work most of the time, but the question mark next to the "fix location" section mentions that the AI will do it's best to follow this guideline, but may have to override it occasionally.
