GDS Fantasy Football: Let the Game Begin!

Eisen-verse

Recommended Posts

I'm seriously torn between Ryan Tannehill vs. San Fran or Cam Newtor vs. Oakland......I've changed my mind 6 times now!

In a normal season it would be a no brainier to play Cam almost every game but his performance has been so shaky lately I'm gun-shy on where I'm putting him.

And I really Antonio Brown to haul in atleast 2 TD's today to keep me from having a stroke this weekend playing against Eisen!

Oh, Kaep. Silly, glory-hogging Kaep.

Why pass to the wide open receiver and take it to overtime when you can run it yourself, get bent in half and lose?

Yo, Mike Evans. Slow yo' damn roll. 22 points is enough for most people in one game, let alone one quarter.

Same here really. I missed Moncrief over Hilton but I think most people would've. Moncrief over Steve Smith would also have been good, but meh. Other than that, I only missed the odd few points here and there (Lewis over White would've got me an extra 3).

Mostly it was just a bad week for the traditional big points scorers.

Oh, and that trade? Still looking good... :p

Cam Newton has just been a complete disappointment to me this season. To have used my second draft pick on him has felt like a wasted pick. Eddie Lacy and Ameer Abdulah was an even bigger bust as my number 3 and 4 but I've at least recovered after taking my first 6 losses to the chin.

But it hurts so much! Now I've fallen to the same level as you losing plebs! :p

You were one of us just last year!

If you win your next game, and Pack beats me, the at one time 5-0 Saints will be knocked out of the playoffs in favour of the at one time 0-5-1 Nutz. Would I get sympathy then? :p

Oh, and DeMarco Murray is on a bye. So, y'know, it could actually happen...

Wait...I can make the playoffs? That is amazing. I figured this was a throwaway season after the way I started and I just wanted to spoil some seasons...and now I can spoil yours!!! And, no. No sympathy for you...

Where most of us have a similar win loss record one of us that's in can lose this week and be replaced (including myself). It is a stressful week this week :(

There is only 2 teams that are safe to lose this week and that is wookies and monarchs everyone else is in jeopardy of losing their spot.

Yup. If you win and I lose, you go to 6-6-1 and I'd be on 6-7. I'll be out of the playoffs by virtue of you drawing one instead of losing it like a real man. :p

On the other hand, if I win and Urban Achievers lose, I win the division on head-to-head results (3-0, which is bloody typical!).

With one game left: (Edit: Most of this post, I found out later, is incorrect. I've left it here for posterity and a look at how exciting the final day could've been :p).

Chord Division is wrapped up. Wookies win and get the bye. I'm not sure K-Nec has realised it, but he's got a 2-1 lead over the Nerf Herders head-to-head, so even if he loses and they win this week, he's still through on head to head scores. **Assuming this is how the league breaks ties, I haven't bothered to check because this way is more fun**

The Hospital, having the worst record in the entire league, are obviously out of it. I wouldn't even blame them for keeping Duke Johnson as their RB1 in his bye week. Not at all.

Starr Division has the champion and #1 seed wrapped up as Swanny wins and gets a first round bye. Below that is all to play for! That tie by Dak Dynasty is really keeping the door open. It's worth noting that Lombardi play the 11-1 Monarchs, while Rayelek and MLT play each other.

If Lombardi win, they're in the playoffs.

If Lombardi loses, they're out (unless a miracle happens and MLT and Dak tie!) and the winner of MLT vs Dak takes their place.

If MLT and Rayelek do happen to tie, and Lombardi lose, Rayelek steals the spot from Lombardi. And boy do I mean 'steals' - they've only played each other once, and Rayelek won.

Strong Division is the opposite of Starr. Eisen has been eliminated for some time at the bottom which is probably why he hasn't posted in forever. :p

Urban Achievers are in the playoffs, but the division win is by no means guaranteed. The Saints need a win to guarantee their place, although a loss will still be enough if Dez Nuts also lose.

Ayden plays K-Nection who's already guaranteed a spot, while the Saints host Pack's 2-9-1 Hospital, without the services of the season's RB2 DeMarco Murray. The way the D-Lyrium/Pack rivalry is going, I wouldn't be at all surprised...

Booooooooooooooooo. The tiebreaker is total points scored, so most of that post is completely invalid.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Also, even more booooooo because the Wookies are the only team that's scored more than me in THE ENTIRE LEAGUE, and then only by 16pts. :p

And I'm 6-1 inside the division.

I'm more and more convinced that I'm in the middle of what will go down as the greatest screwjob in history. :p

Sooo, in reality then:

Chord: Wookies win, get bye. All K-Nection has to do to ensure he gets to the playoffs is either win (the easy way :p) or ensure the Nerf Herders don't outscore him by more than 63 points this week. Seems achievable Kev!

Starr: Monarchs reign supreme, get #1 seed. Lombardi seals wildcard with a win. If Lombardi loses, Rayelek needs to win and score at least 19 points more than Lombardi. MLT needs a miracle, as even if results go her way she'd need to score 183pts + whatever Lombardi scores. That would be... impressive.

Strong: Urban Achievers win the division with a win. If they lose, Saints win the division with a win UNLESS Urban Achievers score 60 more points than the Saints do, in which case UA win the division and Saints get the wildcard. If Urban Achievers and Saints both lose, UA win the division.

If Saints lose, Ayden will sneak into the playoffs with a win. Anything other than a win for Ayden seals a playoff spot for the Saints, it'd just be a matter of which one.

Booo, this is way less cool.

I'm off to sulk and celebrate in equal measure.

I have to apologize for not being as active in here as I would have first thought. I have still been very active inside the actual fantasy football league. That said, when it comes to this forum, I haven't had much chance. This school year has been kicking my butt, and it has only allowed me so much time to do varying things.

I still have long-term plans for this though (several seasons -- ongoing); so, certainly stay locked in. I'll be with you soon enough.

As for my team... Bluh. Oh well. There's next year, right? :)

With that said that makes this more close and gives me several heart attacks going into this weekend.
