Smith eventually manages to overpower Regal and looks for the running powerslam - When Dave Taylor storms the ring - this distracts the referee who turns to deal with the interloper - this allows Finlay to roll in from the back of the ring and fit Smith with the ring bell. He then places Regal over Smith. The referee turns and 1...2...3. Regal wins NEW EUROPEAN CHAMPION. (79) Regal, Finlay and Taylor celebrate with the belt although Regal looks almost completely out of it - propping himself up on the Irishman. MABEL V ???: HEAR YE HEAR YE KING MABEL IS HERE TO PROCLAIM HIMSELF THE GREATEST IN THE WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION. His opponent is then introduced as ... As Razor sets the ladder up - Owen is back in the ring and pushed Ramon face first in to the ladder seeing both men collapse to the floor. The match then continues on with a more hard core style with the ladder involved which then brings out Brian Pillman - Pillman and Owen then completely pummel Ramon for an extended beat down with the men ignoring the chance of going for the title and instead trying to simply inflict damage on Ramon. - This however then brings out Savio Vega who cleans house hitting both men with clotheslines then his pattented Crescent Kick - Vega then chops Pillman as both men brawl to the back leaving only the legal competitors in the ring. The finish of the match comes when Razor sets Owen up for the Razors Edge near the ropes when Owen backbodies Ramon over the ropes AND THROUGH THE WOODEN BREAKAWAY ANNOUNCE TABLE. VINCE, KING AND JR NEED TO STAND UP TO AVOID THE CARNAGE OF THIS WWF FIRST. This gives Owen ample time to scramble up the ladder and retrieve the belt. This match again starts off hot showing that these two can't be kept apart. Mankind is a pure psychopathy who seems to almost enjoy the pain Undertaker inflicts on him. A spot in the match sees Manking hit a double-underhook DDT on the Undertaker who sits up in trademark fashion - Undertaker responds with a running DDT of his own, which Mankind then sits up from while laughing maniacally. - This match gets very violent as the officials desperately tries to maintain order. The finish of the match sees Undertaker hit a Tombstone Piledriver on a bloody Mankind to finally keep down his foe. Blayze taunts Richter and shows shades of cockiness suggesting she can feels she can beat the former champion with ease. This however comes back to haunt Blayze however as Richter manager to catch her cold with a belly-to-belly suplex for the pinfall - Richter breaks down in tears as she holds aloft her second title - a decade after the first. And the match really does deliver - with the finish of the lengthy match coming with Savage going for his patented elbow drop - but Hart rolls our of the way and quick as a flash manages to snap on the Sharpshooter. - Savage struggles but eventually submits. WRESTLING OBSERVER NEWS <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42660" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>-Notes from WWF Summerslam. - Built around 4 big matches of Bret v Savage, Diesel v HBK, 'Taker v Mankind and the Intercontinental match between Owen and Razor. - And they all pretty much delivered. -All belts that were defended switched hands - with Bret, Owen, Johnny Polo, Steven Regal and Wendi Richter winning belts -The Steiners didn't defend the belts at Summerslam - it's thought Vince McMahon thought the Steiners vs Headshrinkers and Steiners vs Miracle Violence Connection are played out and Steiners won both feuds conclusively. -That's why they went in with the angle to try and get the debuting Harris Brothers and Wrecking Crew over. -Both new teams are big but lacking in talent. Harris Brothers have been mostly in ECW. -The Wrecking Crew - are Al Green - former tag parter of Kevin Nash, and Marcus Laurinaitis - brother of Road Warrior Animal (and Johnny Ace) - Presumably the team were recommended through one of those roots. -I can see why the WWF are trying to freshen up the tag division but not sure if these teams will add anything to the product. -The WWF Title switched hands with Bret Hart winning it back from Randy Savage - This comes after Hart was allegedly supposed to be getting the torch passed to him by Hulk Hogan at Summerslam 1993. -This also allowed Randy Savage to get presumably a final run with the title before passing the torch to Hart. -I'm told the Undertaker and Mankind feud is going to run on and officials are happy with the matches so far. -Officials are extremely happy with Mabel - and the crowd reactions that he and a face Yokozuna got at the PPV. I'm hearing he may be the first black WWF Heavyweight Champion. -The Womens title saw Wendi Richter win the belt back. It's thought Vince thinks she's the biggest name for Blayze to feud with - and McMahon wanted to make it right after she was screwed out of the belt a decade ago. - I've heard he called Richter personally to apologise and pitch the new story to Richter. I'm told the WWF are serious about pursuing a Womens Division - and are relying on established stars to give new stars more chance to develop and gain equity with the crowd. -Likewise the Horowitz PPV win was thought to be a thank you for the jobbers commitment. I'm told there's no heat on Malenko - and the defeat wasn't a punishment - and is actually the opposite Malenko was chosen for the storyline as they knew he could deliver a great match.</div></blockquote>

RAW - SEPTEMBER WEEK 1 - 84

FAST PACED TAG TEAM ACTION;

RAW opens with the NEW Intercontinental Champion Owen Hart and Brian Pillman against former tag champions Marty Jannetty and the 123 Kid. The match itself is fast paced with Owen and Kid showing their excellent chemistry. - Vince and JR mention Owen's outstanding win at Summerslam - and Lawler notes his bravery in showing up after such a gruelling encounter - unlike that greasy loser Razor Ramon. During the match Lawler manages to get in several digs at the Kid for losing his Light Heavyweight Title last night at Summerslam to Johnny Polo.

The finish of the match sees Owen and Pillman managing to isolate the Kid - with Pillman hitting the Air Pillman for the win (84)

NEW TAG DIVISION MATCH: The Massive Harris Brothers debut in dominant fashion against Aldo Montoya and Tom Brandi. Lawler and JR discuss how now the Steiners have some real competition - as Ron hits a big clothesline on Aldo to win. (56) Lawler is giddy with excitement - but can't decide whether it will be the Wrecking Crew or the Harris Brothers who take the titles off the Steiners.

King Mabel Ascension: Mabel wins in dominant fashion against Bart Gunn in the post-Summerslam RAW. (76) - Hitting a big splash to finish.

After the match Mabel demands the microphone - and calls out Bret - he says Bret is a coward who has been ducking him ever since King of the Ring - and that Mabel wants a title shot and that he will be WWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION (100)

They've signed Hector Garza and Jinsei Shinzaki. Garza is a pretty big deal in Mexico, and a good worker. He was previously with CMLL. - WWF have invested a lot in him - with both CMLL and WCW putting in large offers for him. It's though initial plans are for him to wrestle as a 'Arrogant heel' and WWF are likely to try and find a mouthpiece for him. Shinzaki mostly wrestled in WAR and isn't a household name in Japan but is talented. WWF are thought to be developing a gimmick for him. It suggest that WWF are looking to acquire talent from Japan. (Former WWF champion Yokozuna is not actually from Japan) WWF have also signed Chris Candido - He's a talented younger wrestler who has appeared for SMW and ECW. He has previously teamed with 'Prime Time' Brian Lee - so they could potentially team up and be part of WWF's rebooted Tag Division. In the end thought it is not enough - as Dean attempts to place Scott into a Texas Cloverleaf - Scott powers out and hits a devastating suplex for the win. (82) The Steiners extend their hands out as a sign of respect and the MalenKO's shake. The next match is between Hunter Hearst Helmsley and newcomer Chris Candido. (81) Next up is the returning Nasty Boys vs The Wrecking Crew in tag team action. Where as Lawler talks about how we've yet to see damage the powerful Chyna can inflict. In the end of the match sees Chyna tag in and hit a huge lariat for the pinfall on Moretti, for the clean win. (75) Blayze and Chyna pose. While Vince gushes at the sheer power of Chyna - "Has the womens division ever seen anything like this?" - Vince muses. Mankind and 'Taker then head for the weapons. Hitting each other with chairs and assorted weapons under the ring. Eventually Manking snatches the Urn from Paul Bearer and clocks the Undertaker with it - but the deadman sits up - big boot followed by a chokeslam onto a steel chair - but then Mankind sits up and maniacally starts to giggle. The end of the match comes a few minutes later - when Undertaker hits a Tombstone Piledriver onto Mankind. - but then a masked man runs through the ropes; <div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="GyFfsRF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GyFfsRF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div> And the masked man hits a sideslam onto Undertaker. This match is a good one - although the fans are maybe struggling to buy the Million Dollar Corp as main event players - due to normally losing the big matches - and today is no exception as Bret Hart manages to lock in the sharpshooter on Billy Gunn - despite DiBiase and Riggins best intentions at ringside. I'm amazed at people who seem to write up full detailed diaries on a consistent basis. - So I've tended to put up just the shows. Also WCW's booking. I think the Booty Man is still the current champion etc. which I feel somewhat kills kayfabe a bit. - I've considered taking over the booking for WCW to try and improve it. (But not doing write-ups). Although it would feel a bit cheating - if I decided to just 'take' Austin for the WWF.
