Ah cool I wonder if we'll see the Elimination Chamber make it's debut?

No - we only have 1995 money. The elimination chamber feels far too modern. - I'm picturing this save taking place in small arenas

I think the old cage and ladders are the only apparatus I can picture in this eras matches. And trying to restrict triple threats etc.

I however did want the Survivor Series to feel a bit different to the In Your House PPV's so made this a special strive to survive elimination match. I also like giving random guys in the main event - so step forward main event Billy Gunn and Main Event Mabel.

SURVIVOR SERIES

NOVEMBER - WEEK 3 - 93

Vince, JR and Lawler welcome us to what is sure to be an outstanding night of wrestling and run down the card and the big feuds.

EUROPEAN TITLE: The opener to the night is a fairly low key match between 'Lord' Steven Regal and Marty Jannetty. - Not much build up to this - but Vince puts over Jannetty as "one of the great competitors in the WWF".

<img alt="SguFFIG.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SguFFIG.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n3GGQbR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n3GGQbR.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="8VWJIx1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8VWJIx1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

In the end though Regal manages to keep Jannetty grounded and applies the regal stretch to maintain his grip on the WWF European Title. (76)

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Next up and we're into one of our feature matches as rising star Owen Hart defends his WWF Intercontinental Championship against living legend 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. With Brian Pillman absent to focus on his later match with the 123 Kid.

<img alt="3HVhWQr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/3HVhWQr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="WtRId0N.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/WtRId0N.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="h3wk9p5.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h3wk9p5.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Piper is a house of fire early on - and Owen resorts to slowing the pace down rolling outside the ring, Owen then takes control after an eye rake. Owen hits a northern lights suplex and then locks in the Sharpshooter for an excruciatingly long time...and....eventually....Piper.....submits.

Owen celebrates wildly - attempting to give the impression that the result was never in doubt - but looking as though he can't believe he actually managed to get the win. (86)

THE BAND vs THE UNDERDOGS: Jarrett, Roadie, Van Hammer & Harris Bros vs Horowitz, Brad Armstrong, Bart Gunn, Al Snow and Bob Holly.

<img alt="IG8sSTA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IG8sSTA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="qED4LvJ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qED4LvJ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Qi5vtz3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Qi5vtz3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="wg6tkrs.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wg6tkrs.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="aHen6gz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/aHen6gz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<img alt="xCMnFIc.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xCMnFIc.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Nq1ihFU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Nq1ihFU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="0Ty33r4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0Ty33r4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="MrDAVbD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MrDAVbD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="PzUNxHJ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PzUNxHJ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Roadie and Armstrong lock up to start. And oh no - Jarrett has a guitar on the outside - and is threatening to play it. Jarrett then gets into an altercation with a 'fan' - and Harris Bros security needs to step in to stop it.

The match is a short and by the numbers affair with the heels always in control with Brad Armstrong and Barry Horowitz being taken out early. But then Al Snow manages to eliminate Van Hammer. The match then descends into chaos when Harris Brothers take up chairs and lay out the faces - and are disqualified. However the faces are then easy picking for Jarrett and Roadie - and Snow, Holly and then finally Bart Gunn are eliminated.

Survivors: Jeff Jarrett and the Roadie. (70)

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Johnny Polo is defending against Dean Malenko - who has been picking up steam in recent weeks thanks to a competitive tag match against the Steiner Brothers - which has turned the Malenko's firmly into fan favourites. Dean is with his siblings Debbie and Joe.

<img alt="tzW6RqF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tzW6RqF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="OlhSozQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OlhSozQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="RBNyn6u.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RBNyn6u.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Malenko starts brightly taking down Polo with his outstanding technical skills before Polo strikes back with a huge clothesline. Polo using his size to his advantage. Polo then hits is Evenflow DDT and arrogantly covers Malenko - but at the last possible moment Dean kicks out! Polo and the fans can't believe it. Malenko then plays to the crown and builds up a head of steam before cradling Polo into a small package and picks up his first title in the WWF! (62)

HOSS HOSS HOSS (and Savio) - this is just a hoss battle - Savio is first to go after a Williams powerslam, before Rick tosses out Tama. The Nasty's and Williams and Gordy are then double counted out, leaving it Steiner's vs Fatu and Samu. - Scott hits a massive double underhook suplex on Samu and then a top rope bulldog on Fatu for the win.

Survivors: Rick and Scott Steiner (80)

123 KID V BRIAN PILLMAN: And next up is Kid v Pillman - this feud started with Pillman and Hart bullying the Kid after Owen defeated the Kid in a match.

<img alt="SWepIKb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SWepIKb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="DOGRFhS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DOGRFhS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

The first ever WCW Light Heavyweight Champion takes on the first WWF Light Heavyweight Champion in a fast paced affair as two of the best workers have a quick midcard match - the Kid fights valiantly but the larger Pillman can match him for speed but overpowers Kid and hits an Air Pillman for the clean win. (80)

WOMEN'S FEUD: Alundra Blayze w) Chyna v Wendi Richter w) Lisa Moretti.

Blayze and Richter are again evenly matched until Chyna attacked Moretti on the outside distracting Richter allowing Blayze to hit a german suplex - and Blayze retains her belt. (73)

<img alt="wXQYfCV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wXQYfCV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="fULtefz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/fULtefz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Blayze and Chyna celebrate in the ring. JR asks if these are the most dominant ever and how can anyone compete? - When

Bull NAKANO storms down to the ring - and immediately clears house - Bull hits huge suplexes and cannonballs on both women who scramble to the back clearly terrified of Bull as the crowd erupts. (73)

Recap of the Undertaker vs Mankind / Abyss feud (100)

Undertaker takes on Abyss who is accompanied by Mankind - and this one descends into a brawl immediately. - Undertakers immediately clotheslines Abyss over the top and the two spill to the outside.

<img alt="W10zcmW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/W10zcmW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GyFfsRF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GyFfsRF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="VVDSjfB.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VVDSjfB.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

This is nominally a singles match - but for all intents and purposes is a handicap match - with 'Taker needing to fight against both Mankind and Abyss. The Undertaker manages to hit a tombstone on the outside to Mankind before returning to the ring with Abyss. 'Taker choke slams Abyss and picks up the win (78)

 • 3 weeks later...

Bad news.My laptop has unfortunately broke (I think the motherboard has lost connection or something) and I did not backup anything. This means I think this diary is dead.

Thank you for everyone who read.

I'm hopeful of making another diary but I struggle to get going. - I like modern day but find it tough due to booking 5 hours plus a week. Some ideas I've had are - a 2001 WCW reboot - but there has been a few of those recently. Also a 1994 but maybe crafting ECW into a third promotion?

I struggle to book attitude era - but would find it hard to book in the chaotic style. And Golden era is easy to book with a staggering amount of talent but kind of lacks structure - with wrestling being very much all about the house shows

Another idea is just doing a 1994 WWF redux? I'd never wrote a diary before - and at the start had no real plans and booked show to show. My worry is that it would just feel the same and no one (including myself) would be interested.

I suggest if you do something modern day, not to do the WWE. Try MLW, ROH, or IMPACT!. It will give you a challenge without burning you out. With MLW and ROH it is one, one hour show a week and a monthly show. IMPACT! will be one two hour show a week, and an event every few months.

AEW would be another option as they are an almost empty slate having only had three shows. And so their is no perceived concepts of how things should go to hold you back.

With any of these companies you can decide to try and slay WWE or just become the best alternative.

If you want to go back to 1994 go with ECW or WCW to allow you a different feel then this one.

If you don't think you can handle the booking for the attitude era, start right before then (96ish) and don't force yourself into the attitude style, try a different way to fight against WCW. Maybe you stick with the New Generation and slightly cartoony style, maybe instead of Russo, Vince chose Jim Ross to be head of booking, and you (as Ross) wants to bring a more athletic and pure wrestling style (think ROH and NJPW) with enough entertainment to keep McMahon happy, and allow Austin and Rock to still have a place.

Thanks for the ideas. - ECW 2001 has potential - try and get in AJ and the guys from the early days of TNA and blending them with RVD and Jerry Lynn.

I've tried to book Impact few times but I always struggle- I also don't really watch indie wrestling so I always have the issue of not really knowing the guys I'm signing which saps the fun out of it for me. I've never watched ROH and have only recently tried to watch MLW. I get your point with AEW but that would be more of a hindrance for me - and I've never seen an Omega or Young Bucks match which would make booking hard.

I've booked '96 before which I did enjoy - but I'm not overly familiar with that period.

Right now - I'm leaning towards remaking the '94 WWF. - There are plenty of things I can do to make it feel different. or things I wanted to do but never got around to doing. - Like Adam Bomb was a guy I always intended to do something with but never did. There's also bringing in guys like Warrior, Terry Funk and Jake Roberts. Or doing things differently like doing the Diesel / HBK feud quicker or turning the Undertaker heel.

There's also guys like RVD, Eddie Guerrero and Mysterio who I intentionally held off on using to stop the roster becoming a dream roster too quickly.

And feuds I never got round to doing - I was planning on having Diesel winning the belt at Mania and then feuding with Scott Steiner. I was also planning on having an Undertaker / Pierre feud - where Taker dominates that much PCO is created.

I also wanted to eventually create an exciting cruiserweight division with Juve / Liger etc.

The only way to watch ECW really is on the WWE Network but it's not great because of a lot of themes being dubbed over, content being cut and a lot of Joey Styles re dubbed commentary. So someone re dubbed all the high quality footage from the network by editing in cut content that was on the original tapes, the original themes, commentary, etc. on all the ECW PPVs so that the footage is exactly like it was when it aired.
