The show opens with Vince McMahon, center in the ring, giving a big throaty welcome to the WWF Champion, “Big Daddy Cool” Diesel! After the two discuss Diesel’s big victory over the menacing King Mabel at SummerSlam, Diesel asks the truck to replay some footage from the August 21st edition of RAW when The British Bulldog turned on Diesel during a tag match against Men on a Mission. After the replay, Diesel says that he has some unfinished business left with the Bulldog and invites him down to the ring.

Jim Cornette and the Bulldog answer the summons but Cornette says that the only way Diesel will get his hands on his client is by putting the title on the line at In Your House 3 in 3 weeks time!

Diesel agrees, saying anytime and anyplace.

The 1-2-3 Kid vs. King Mabel w/ Sir Mo

Clearly a mismatch in size here, the announce team stressed that anything is possible in the World Wrestling Federation and the Kid has scored major upsets on RAW before. The Kid kept Mabel chasing for the first few minutes, frustrating the big man as he dodged his attacks and countered with a series of martial arts kicks.

The tide turned as the youngster came off the top and King Mabel caught him with a big time slam good for a 2 count. A few more offensive moves that highlighted Mabel’s superior size yielded a few more 2 counts and the big man became frustrated.

Once last hope spot came when The Kid countered the big man with a sunset flip and Mabel was reeling. Unfortunately, the King was able regain his balance and drop onto the Kid, sitting on his chest for a pin.

“The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels © vs. Sycho Sid w/ Ted DiBiase

The gold was up for grabs in the main event tonight: a match that has been eagerly anticipated since the night after Wrestlemania XI when Sid turn on Michaels.

Michaels wasted little time taking it to his former bodyguard, as he started the match on the offensive ducking the big Sid’s lumber clotheslines and delivering a series of quick jabs before knocking the big 7 footer down with a flying clothesline!

Sid rolled to the floor and took a moment to regroup with his manager Ted DiBiase before re-entering the ring and taking control as he caught HBK with a big military-press slam followed by a thunderous leg-drop. After a 2 count, Sid locked Michaels in nerve hold on the mat that grounded the champ and brought the bout to crawl.

With the fans behind him, Michaels battled back and went on a second-offensive flurry that featured a second spectacular flying forearm smash followed by a signature kip up! Michaels went to corner and began stomping his feet, a sure sign Sweet Chin Music was on it’s way!

That was Ted DiBiase’s cue to jump on the apron and grab the attention of referee Earl Hebnar drawing Michaels attention as well! Michaels ran to knock DiBiase off the apron and turned around as Sid prepared to kick Michael’s head off with a big boot! Michaels ducked however and whipped around to grab the self proclaimed “master of the universe” in a small package for a surprising 3 count!

Victor: Shawn Michaels

Time: 11:42

Match Rating: 84

Post Match:

Following his sudden lose, Sid is ballistic as he shoves both his manager Ted DiBiase and referee Earl Hebnar to the mat. Michaels goes to kick the big Sid with Sweet Chin Music, but the big man was ready, catching the champ’s foot and spinning him around before wrapping his hands around his throat and driving him with a powerful chokeslam! Not yet satisfied, Sid delivers a bone-crunching powerbomb on the defenseless champ and RAW draws to close with officials flooding out from the back to check on Michaels and restrain the crazed Sid.
