Fantastic show! I don't want to drop any spoilers but Dustin and Jamie Knoble are diamonds in the rough! You have so many guys now that are way better off than they ever done in RL. Shane and Lance storm come to mind here as well. I'm loving Bret's WCW and can't wait for the Nitro and Renaissance write ups.

I like how the Steiners managed to put their differences aside. Feuding with Made in Italy will definitely help both teams (AND the tag team division, which was badly hurt with True Heroes' exit!)

January 2003: Post-Sin News and Notes <div style="text-align:center;"> http://i.imgur.com/nUYCk9q.jpg </div> Sin was a big success. While Starrcade was slightly better, this was still the second best event we've put on since I bought the company. If this becomes anything close to the new normal for us, Vince better be looking over his shoulder! I knew Matt Hardy wouldn't be too thrilled about losing to the Jung Dragons, even if it was by DQ. That was why I made sure to set the match up where Matt would be protected and kept as strong as possible, being in control of the match until the chair got introduced. This loss is unfortunately going to do some damage to the Hardys' popularity, but it was where I needed to go in the story. I heaped plenty of praise on Dustin and Rey for their fantastic main event, and also complimented Jamie Knoble on an awesome performance and told him I'd do my best to come up with something for him to do. Since being released by New Japan two months ago, young Shinsuke Nakamura has been sitting around waiting for an offer from one of the many other Japanese companies, yet none have contacted him. He hasn't even been able to find work on local independent shows. That's really odd to me, because my international scouts and our NJPW contacts all rave about the kid as a good worker already, to go along with strong natural charisma and star presence. I don't know why he's slipped through the cracks, but I had my people invite him to attend a recent Renaissance taping to discuss the possibility of coming over here and working for us. After a surprising release from New Japan and two months of silence from all the other Japanese groups, I'm optimistic that he'll be willing to make this big jump. I've had CM Punk give his thoughts on several of the Renaissance women, and now I've had one of our top female workers chime in about one of the guys. Etsuko Mita is really impressed with Bryan Danielson and thinks he's one of the guys I should build the Nitro brand around over the next year or two. Shane Douglas thinks Cash hasn't connected with the fans at all during his WCW career and has little chance of ever doing so. That's probably my fault as much as anything, because he's a good worker who has had very little to do. "Nobody likes watching those two little boys dancing, 'specially that Shannon kid! That's a girl's name, and his momma prolly named him that 'cause he looks like a little girl!" -Scott Steiner 5SSW has filled the title vacancy created when we called up Momoe Nakanishi. Kaoru Ito won a triple threat against Cutie Suzuki and Mariko Yoshida for the vacant 5SSW World title. The 31-year old Ito is there under developmental deal and a callup could be imminent, so I have a feeling the title will have to be vacated for a second time. <div style="text-align:center;"> http://i.imgur.com/sDkxtEI.jpg </div> Right after going on a bit of a hiring spree to at least partially compensate for their massive roster cuts in late 2002, Inoki has turned right around and released a slew of talent. The complete list: Dr. Wagner Jr. Hiro Saito Junji Hirata Kenso Suzuki Minoru Tanaka Naofumi Yamamoto Super J Wataru Inoue I can understand the Inoue firing, since it was a direct result of failing a drug test, but the rest of this has me confused and concerned. This erratic behavior by Inoki isn't good for worker morale or the reputation of the company, and since a lot of these guys were under guaranteed written contracts it makes zero fiscal sense. I don't know what's going on in that office, but I think it might be time for us to terminate our working agreement with New Japan and try to set something up with one of the other major Japanese groups. Preferably NOAH if Misawa is interested. As for the released wrestlers, I'd love to bring in Dr. Wagner, who is one of the best in the world. Unfortunately I've been given no hint that he's interested in working in the US, so he'll probably be exclusive to CMLL now. I might be able to get Minoru Tanaka though, as he made a couple of appearances for us in August 2001 on a talent trade for New Japan and seemed to enjoy the experience. Minoru isn't overly charismatic but is a super technical wrestler, so it might be worth bringing him in. Though it was overshadowed by the round of cuts, New Japan has become the latest company to ink a PPV deal with Main Event in Australia. That makes them the fifth company that Main Event has signed up. Perhaps I should follow suit and make WCW the sixth? Our big events currently air on commercial TV via Ten Network Australia. He won the WHC, sure, but it was basically a secondary title by that point, plus he was booked as ineffectively as possible.

Maybe someone who understands the mechanics better can provide more insight into why this would happen, but I don't see anything in Inoki's ratings that would be the cause. It's not like they've experienced a recent drop in company level either; they fell to Cult last February, got back to National in August and have remained there ever since. They're also in debt and are 49th out of 49 companies in finances. I think I'm going to give it to the K-Nections. I'm a little sad to not have the Agents of Chaos back in the mix again, but that's what I get for not doing well with predictions <img alt="

His only weak link is Harry, who I think will probably be eating a lot of losses for the team. But the other four feel like they should be able to pick up the youngster's slack.

When it was my turn to pick my final pick (was originally going with TAKA) then Davey Boy was pulled off the list. Naturally I assumed that he had fallen off the wagon and I thought what will happen to Harry in his short career? Another thing I thought of it would be nice for him to get a rub in this thing. I always try to build an evolution type team when I'm doing these. I'll have the current big star, (RVD) the big enforcer role (Scott) the sly veteran (DDP) and the future (Harry).
