The World Wrestling Federation was the top dog in the yard, but under the leadership of Eric Bischoff, WCW had started to nip at McMahon's heels. Every expert asked would agree that Eric was doing something right, but he must not have been doing it quick enough because in August 1995, he was released. If that news alone didn't shock the wrestling world, his replacement certainly did... <a href="http://imgur.com/iW7Ekhb"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/iW7Ekhb.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a> Randy “The Ram” Robinson hadn't been seen or heard of outside of local armories and AA meetings the past few years, but apparently Robinson's AA sponsor was a higher-up at Turner. One conversation turns into another, and now The Ram is WCW's head Booker! Details are hazy around Robinson's initial plans with the company, but two major changes have been announced immediately following the news. First was that WCW was getting a developmental territory called Florida-Georgia Wrestling, although there have been no details about who would run the company or who the company was interested in bringing in. <a href="http://imgur.com/WN5Hlgp"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/WN5Hlgp.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a> The second colossal bit of news was that WCW was making the move to prime time, and they're going head to head with Monday Night Raw! “Mean” Gene Okerlund broke the news on the WCW hotline- WCW Monday Nitro, a one-hour wrestling program, would be coming to TNT in September, and it would be airing at the exact same time as WWF's flagship show, Raw. When you add in TBS' WCW Saturday Night program, which runs at two hours, that means that WCW will be producing three hours of wrestling programming a week- six on weeks with pay per views!
