This mod is planned to have a very large worker database as well as a very high level of detail given. These things considered, this mod will only feature the North American game world. I plan on having 40-60 American companies to put things in perspective.

This timeline is a work in progress and is not yet finalized.

2017

  • WWE doubles down on their ‘PG’ product and starts to become even more child-oriented.
  • In September, the wrestling world loses the most influential force it has ever known when Vincent Kennedy McMahon suffers a massive heart attack and passes away.
  • In October, Stephanie McMahon-Levesque is named as the CEO of WWE.

2018

  • WWE has made it clear that their television is almost exclusively aimed at the children’s demographic. Ratings and ticket sales decline while sponsorships increase. In opposition to the direction of the company, several big names decline to renew their contracts over the course of the years to come.
  • In March, Texas Mud Wrestling is opened and almost instantly attracts a large loyal fan-base. An all-women roster with every match taking place in a mud-ring.
  • Rumors leak through credible sources over the summer that the WWE backstage morale is at an all-time low. It is also rumored that tensions are high between Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon.
  • AIW and CZW both rise to ‘regional’ size over the course of the year due to the rise of interest in hardcore wrestling again.
  • Over the course of 2018, it becomes apparent that the political correctness movement is dying in America. Censorship becomes synonymous with fascism and is demonized frequently, resulting in more violence, vulgarity and sexuality in all forms of media.

2019

  • In February, Shane McMahon resigns his position at WWE and leaves the business without much attention drawn to it on television. Social media runs wild with theories and gossip.
  • In March, the company formerly known as TNA, Impact Wrestling, or Anthem Impact Wrestling, finally closes its doors. Amidst owing many workers money and a public image that has been destroyed, Anthem decides it was a poor investment and officially closes the doors.
  • In April, WWE falls to ‘cult’ size and is in a nosedive financially due to over-investment. Shortly thereafter the brand split ends. WWE quietly ends its other B-shows and turns Smackdown into the B-show.
  • In June, Grade A Girls is founded. The company raises the bar for female objectification and degradation. The company inks a deal with an online-based pornography company to broadcast their weekly show and monthly events. The company is not shy in its advertising about sexualizing to girls to the fullest. Their matches consist of oil wrestling, strip matches and even completely buck naked matches.
  • Seeing the opportunity for competition in the industry, in July of 2019, Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, and Eric Bischoff purchase the rights to World Championship Wrestling for $5M from WWE. Austin invested $30M of his personal fortune and would start as a majority owner with 60%. Angle and Bischoff invested $10M each, each owning 20%.
  • In September, it is confirmed that Shane McMahon is working for WCW.
  • In November 2019, WCW re-opens with its first Monday Nitro in over 15 years. That same night the WCW Network is announced and launched. The network features all the archived WCW exclusive shows and will air all future pay per view events exclusively.
  • AIW and CZW are both on the rise with the surge of popularity for hardcore wrestling. Instead of competing for the market, they merge to form Absolute Combat Wrestling. This merger combines the fan bases and raises ACW to ‘cult’ size. Shortly after the merger, ACW signs Tammy Lynn Sytch to act as the company’s on-screen authority figure. She is past her prime of being a sex symbol but plays an amazing heel. She has been in and out of rehab for over a decade and many wonder if she will stay sober.
  • In December, WCW runs it’s prestigious Starrcade 2017 and is massive success. The main event features a triple threat match to crown the first World Heavyweight Champion between (using the names you know them by) Bray Wyatt, Cesaro and Sami Zayn.

2020

It’s a presidential election year. WWE and WCW are already in a hostile relationship and are headed for war. Does ACW have what it takes to compete at the level of WCW and WWE? How do you think you could handle starting your own company in this vastly different, but highly detailed world?

Everything seemed interesting but, the one thing that breaks a little bit of the track for me personally, how would you really justify Steve Austin & Kurt Angle & Eric Bischoff even getting hands on WCW when someone like Stephanie McMahon is holding that stock. Of course, you could run a little bit more of a story saying WWE was getting low on money or something. Anyways, a few buddies and I can help you out.

This was the thinking behind justifying why WWE would sell the rights.

Austin is grateful Eric fired him because it gave Austin his time to shine elsewhere.</p>

It would be an interesting dynamic where the products from the Attitude Era are flipped. WWE using an overly Family Friendly product, while WCW embraces "Attitude." Not necessarily directly Attitude Entertainment, with the Cult setting cranked up rather than Mainstream. Regardless, it sounds promising.
