Introduction

Hello there, now some of you may have seen my last attempt at a diary and remember that it really never got going, I feel like I learnt a lot from that and am now ready to have another attempt. I am going to be starting after WrestleMania, so I will quickly provide a write up of how WrestleMania went.

This will largely be true to real life at the start, but I started writing this a little while ago and as is the case with WWE, things don’t last, so there are a few continuity errors with real life but there is nothing major

The tension between Lesnar and Goldberg then escalated when Goldberg eliminated Lesnar from the Rumble and the two agreed to face each other at WrestleMania. Finally, the WWE Universal Championship was added to the mix when Goldberg beat Kevin Owens at Fastlane inside 30 seconds and then the stage was set for the two to collide for the biggest prize on the grandest stage of them all. The match itself threw up no surprises; it was a short match with not a great deal of offense shown by either man and even less in the way of selling. Lesnar was able to secure victory after a distraction from Heyman led to an F5 and a pin. This match will be short lived in the memory. <div style="text-align:center;">‘The Big Dog’ Roman Reigns vs ‘The Phenom’ The Undertaker</div> After Roman Reigns eliminated Taker from the Royal Rumble, the stage was set for the two to do battle at WrestleMania. One of the biggest stars of all time vs one of the biggest stars WWE has today. Considering the age of the Undertaker he looked in great shape as this match got underway, as it went on he certainly slowed a little but due to his expert psychology he was able to hide it from the audience well. Roman Reigns was able to secure the win after a superman punch and spear combination, The Undertaker had to be helped out of the arena. <div style="text-align:center;">‘The Eater of Worlds’ Bray Wyatt vs ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton vs Luke Harper – WWE World Heavyweight Championship</div> Smackdown and perhaps WWE’s best feud in recent memory was probably the most anticipated match on the card for the hardcore fans, in Bray and Luke we saw two guys finally getting the spotlight and the chance to show the ability they have, combined with a rejuvenated Randy Orton who has been the most interesting he has been in years. The match was great right from the start, Harper and Randy made an uneasy alliance for a shared disdain of Bray and after they laid Wyatt out it quickly fell apart and the two brawled. Orton was then able to hit Harper with an RKO before looking to do the same for Bray before the lights went out and Erick Rowan appeared on the apron. The Club started off strong as they managed to isolate Cesaro and really work him down, the two employed quick tags and manage to keep the Swiss Superman off of his feet and down on the mat. Cesaro’s break finally came he caught Karl Anderson with a viscous uppercut, and then got to tag in Sheamus. Sheamus who had been waiting for a moment, really got rolling but then when he went for a brogue kick, Anderson ducked out of the way leading to Sheamus catching Cesaro with the viscous kick. Anderson then rolled him up and grabbed the tights to secure a win. Going into the match, you could cut the tension with a knife given all the personal animosity between these men, virtually everybody in this match has had problems with everybody else in the past and it was always just going to be a question of exactly which team could co-exist the best to win it. It started well for Rusev, he wasted no time jumping Seth Rollins and was able to ground the man who had just come back from a few months on the shelf. Rusev was then smart enough to keep Rollins isolated as his team managed frequent tags. The personal animosity between Jericho and Owens was too much, as they fought into the crowd and the rest of the match went by without them. Rollins finally got to Roman and the fresh man was able to hit a superman punch for the win. The bad blood between Zayn and Owens really was apparent in this match as neither man even went for a cover on the other, the two seemingly content to fight forever and just hurt each other. Chad Gable was able to outwrestle Jey Uso at every step, grounding Uso and working him down with the expert precision that made him a crowd favourite in NXT, but again Jey proved that the Usos have no interest in making friends as he used every trick he could think of.

After an explosive German Suplex, Gable looked like he had the match won before Jimmy jumped up on the apron and distracted Gable, Jason Jordan quickly chased Jimmy up the ramp but the distraction allowed Jey to hit a viscous super kick that nearly took Chad’s head off to steal the win

Daniel Bryan is in his office, it soon becomes apparent he is talking to Shane on his phone and Daniel definitely seems concerned about him and the injuries he sustained, Randy Orton then walks in and Daniel tells Shane he has to go.

Orton basically repeats what he told Bray last week, he never lost fairly and that he deserves the opportunity to have another match for the World Title. As Orton is mid rant Harper comes into the office and the two men immediately square up.

Bryan quickly stops both men, saying that he is sick of everybody around here fighting and that since they both have problems with Bray and Erick Rowan they can face them tonight in a tag team match.

Asuka vs Tamina

Before the match Mauro talked about the returning Tamina and how happy she is to be back and wrestling again, and that she knows that her behaviour in the past has been questionable but she is now asking the fans to give her another chance.

Asuka seemed to be in the exact same bad mood she was in last week, she seemed to have no interest in Tamina’s return as she absolutely dominated the much bigger woman.

Asuka delivered a serious of viscous kicks before locking in the Asuka lock for an easy win, Tamina hardly got a move in.

An advert for the new season of Total Divas plays, before the feed switches to a photoshoot in a studio. Nattie Niedhart and Naomi are posing for photos as a photographer instructs them, behind Nattie and Naomi we see three figures wearing all black and masks appear in the door way as the photographer and his helpers quickly scatter.

Naomi and Nattie turn around to see the three people, but it’s too late as they begin to beat the two Total Divas down. One of the masked individuals then delivers a stiff kick to the head of Naomi, as the other two pick up Nattie and drive her into the wall.

The three then exit all without saying a word as the staff on site freak out and call for an ambulance.

Becky Lynch vs Carmella

The announce team continue to talk about the viscous attack we just saw, before they turn their attention to this match and the new attitude of Becky Lynch. Carmella, to her credit, gave this match a really good go and it was definitely close, she was able to work her down and at one point nearly managed to lock her own submission in, but an impressive demonstration of strength from Becky allowed her to power out.

Becky then hit Carmella with a Bex-Ploder before locking in the Dis-Arm-Her to pick up her second submission win in as many weeks.

As the match finishes, the camera cuts to backstage where Smackdown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss is standing with Mickie James and watching the impressive display from Becky Lynch, clearly both women are clearly concerned but they put on a brave front.

The two walk away as they both agree that they need a plan to deal with Lynch.

The Miz’s mood seems to be the exact same as last week, he seems annoyed and the start of the match shows he clearly feels above Apollo Crews and isn’t taking this match seriously, that is something he quickly pays for as Apollo catches him with a stiff kick to the face that only serves to anger the Miz who grounds the high flyer and beats him down.

The Miz has the match under control, before he decides to stop and kiss his wife. Maryse climbs up on the apron and despite the protests of Referee Charles Robinson, the two continues to kiss allowing Apollo the time to regain his bearings, he hits The Miz with a beautiful suplex before hitting a moonsault to grab the win.

As Apollo walks off celebrating, Miz and Maryse look absolutely furious.

Winner: Apollo Crews

As the show returns from commercial Dolph Ziggler is in the ring and he instantly starts complaining, saying that he is a former world champion and what was his place at WrestleMania? A pre-show match, he claims he deserves so much better. He then announces that everybody will see they were wrong to doubt the show off, he’ll show them all why they all loved him to begin with.

With that, Dolph drops the mic and makes his way back up the ramp.

Dean Ambrose vs AJ Styles

Dean Ambrose vs AJ Styles is a match that occurred a few times since the draft split and it has never disappointed before, well this match was no different as the two former world champions once again demonstrated the excellent chemistry they had. Both men got plenty of offence in during the very open match and it really could’ve gone either way.

That is until Baron Corbin saw fit to get involved, Corbin climbed up onto the apron and tried to get into the ring before Dean Ambrose hit him with a boot that sent him back out of the ring, Styles then pounced hitting Ambrose with a Styles Clash to take the win.

The second the bell rings, Corbin gets into the ring and throws Styles off of Dean Ambrose, before picking up Dean and hitting him with a deep six to lay out the Intercontinental champion. He then gestures for Dean’s belt which he holds up high as he stands over Dean. Clearly Corbin is sending a message to Ambrose.

The main event started off shakily from the make shift team of Harper and Orton, for starters the two couldn’t even agree who was going to start off the match and Bray was happy to watch as the pair argued before Harper reluctantly climbed onto the apron and let Orton start, this quickly prompting Bray to tag out for Rowan.

As the match wore on, the team finally started to gel a little as Harper was able to take out Rowan with a savage discuss clothesline on the outside, isolating the World Champion Bray with Randy Orton.

Bray held his own and looked set to hit Orton with the Sister Abigal before Orton was able to reverse it and hit him with an RKO to score the victory.

This was an excellent main event.
