Road to Fame held at The Leavenworth Armory in Leavenworth, Kansas in front of 1,283 fans.

To open the show, Garrett Edwards runs through a recap of recent match highlights from Scars & Stripes. Dixie Diamond and Garrett go over tonight’s matches.

Jack DeColt vs Tigre Salvaje vs Black Eagle in a three-way match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Jack%20DeColt-min_zpsamawdihw.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tigre%20Salvaje-min_zpsbp5qyf9h.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Black%20Eagle-min_zpscxxoabej.jpg

Both Black Eagle and Jack DeColt enter the ring when the theme music of Tigre Salvaje begins. Tigre Salvaje makes an elaborate entrance to a cheering crowd.

As they are in the ring and waiting for the bill, Black Eagle attacks Tigre Salvaje with a foreign object as referee Eugene Williams, with his back turned, signals for the bell to ring to start the match. That momentarily stunned Tigre, but his superior in-ring performance carried the match. In a decent match, Tigre Salvaje defeated Black Eagle and Jack DeColt in 12:24 when Tigre Salvaje defeated Black Eagle by pinfall with a Salvaje Suplex. Even in defeat, it appears that Black Eagle had improved his technical skills. – 44D

The crowd got much hotter as we lead into the second match.

Fumihiro Ota vs Shawn Chase

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Fumihiro%20Ota-min_zpsfgdon2xo.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Strife-min_zps6hk1ir3y.jpg

In a poor match, Fumihiro Ota defeated Shawn Chase in 8:25 by pinfall with a Ninja Strike. – 41D

I join Fumihiro Ota in the ring after the match. He says he is just beginning to get noticed and great things are in the future.

Edwin D. Brashford vs Lionheart Lawson

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Edwin%20D%20Bashford-min_zpscfzggulg.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Lionheart%20Lawson-min_zps35zgxkcf.jpg

Edwin D. Bashford enters the ring first where Dixie Diamond asked about his return to the LWL. Edwin is pleased to be back and says that you will see a lot more of him, but first he must take care of Lionheart Lawson.

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Edwin D. Bashford defeated Lionheart Lawson in 9:54 by pinfall. – 30E+

Human Arsenal vs Rafael Ruiz

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Human%20Arsenal-min_zpsdyqdo1yn.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Rafael%20Ruiz-min_zpstwmkaw52.jpg

Human Arsenal enters the ring first as I get to ask him about tonight’s match. He sees this as a first stepping stone to get to a title in the organization.

In a decent match with a wildly cheering crowd, Human Arsenal defeated Rafael Ruiz in 11:59 by pinfall by using grabbing the trunks of Rafael Ruiz as referee Ray Johnson was making the count. – 51D+

This leads us the fifth match of the night.

Brent Hill vs Little Bill Lebowski

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Brent%20Hill-min_zpsgi99neqt.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Little%20Bill%20Lebowski-min_zps9vd2cqpo.jpg

Little Bill Lebowski enters the ring first, microphone in hand, and proceeds to repeatedly insult the audience. His verbal assault is met with loud jeering and a chorus of boos. This got the crowd hotter and ready to tear him apart.

In a decent match at first, neither wrestler seemingly getting an advantage when suddenly at 11:39 Little Bill went into an attacking rage. Fists after fists, forearm smashes after forearm smashes Little Bill then used the ropes to rake the eyes of Brent Hill. Referee Eugene Williams kept calling for the break and was left with no other option. Brent Hill defeated Little Bill Lebowski in 11:39 when Little Bill Lebowski got disqualified after going into an attacking rage. – 45D

I enter the ring to talk to Brent Hill. His face bloodied Brent Hill goes off on a rant about how much he hates Little Bill Lebowski and will eventually pay him back. He pleads with me to have another chance to wrestle Little Bill Lebowski in a singles match. I totally agree and let Brent know that we will book it for South East Storm coming up in week 3 in August. Brent leaves the ring to go backstage holding a bloody towel against his head.

This now leads to the main event of the evening.

Main Event

Tate Lyall & Monty Walker vs Eric Tyler & Steven Ambrose in a tag match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tate%20Lyall-min_zpsww4dqgp0.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Monty%20Walker-min_zpsfyimudfq.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Eric%20Tyler_young-min_zpszhnra2rh.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Steven%20Ambrose_alt1-min_zpshfazepve.jpg

The crowd is directed to view the large screen monitors as Dixie Diamond is interviewing Eric Tyler and Steven Ambrose backstage. Steven says how excited he is to be working with Eric and hopes he can pick up some new skills. Eric points out how it will be a tough match with these two seasoned opponents, Monty Walker and Tate Lyall.

As all eyes are focused on the backstage curtain, a large pyrotechnic explosion is triggered as Monty Walker and Lyall enter and make their way to the ring. Monty Walker and Tate Lyall make an elaborate entrance exciting the crowd as they enter the ring.

This time a larger pyrotechnic explosion is triggered as Eric Tyler and Steven Ambrose enter and make their way to the ring. Eric Tyler and Steven Ambrose make a spectacular over-the-top entrance causing pandemonium in the Armory.

In terms of in-ring work, Eric Tyler was head and shoulders above everyone else as Tate Lyall appeared to be struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance. On a bright note, Monty Walker and Tate Lyall had good chemistry teaming together. Wonder if this will lead to a tag team.

In a decent match, Eric Tyler and Steven Ambrose defeated Monty Walker and Tate Lyall in 11:49 when Steven Ambrose defeated Tate Lyall by pinfall with a Dragon Drop. – 57C-

Dixie and I enter the ring.

DD: Thank you all for attending tonight’s show. It has been our pleasure.

GE: Have a safe drive home and we will be back soon.

Overall – 52D+

Monday Week 1 August 1997

On Monday morning, I huddled with Karl Jackson, Mitch Naess, Ray Johnson and Johnny Kim to review how we did on Saturday. To our surprise, we have passed two milestones. We have moved to a regional size promotion and we showed our first profit since we started. Only $3,815 but, hey, it is a start.

Wednesday Week 3 August 1997

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/ETWL_Storm%204-min_zpstryryvnl.jpg South East Storm

The matches for South East Storm for Wednesday Week 3 to be held at the Juju Room in New Orleans, Louisiana in front of 600 fans.

“Welcome New Orleans.” Garrett Edwards opened the show running through a recap of recent match highlights from Road to Fame. Joined by Dixie Diamond, Garrett and she go over tonight’s matches.

This got the crowd hotter with the announcement of the first match.

Little Bill Lebowski vs Brent Hill

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Little%20Bill%20Lebowski-min_zps9vd2cqpo.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Brent%20Hill-min_zpsgi99neqt.jpg

Garrett Edwards climbed into the ring to interview Brent as he entered the ring. Brent went over the events from his last meeting with Little Bill and how he was going to clean his clock tonight.

Little Bill Lebowski entered the ring a little hesitant as he kept his eye on Brent Hill. Referee Ray Johnson signaled for the bell and the match begun. Both wrestlers went toe-to-toe in the beginning when Brent Hill proceeded to toss Little Bill through the ropes onto the arena floor.

The fight continued outside the ring as Ray Johnson urged the wrestlers to get back to the ring. He started his count, 1 – 2 – 3. It didn’t seem to faze the two wrestlers as Little Bill slammed Brent Hill into the steel ring post. The crowd was loving this but not the referee. 8 – 9 – 10 as Ray Johnson signaled for the bell.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Brent Hill drew with Little Bill Lebowski in 7:23 following a double disqualification. – 38D-

Eric Tyler vs Black Eagle in a non-title match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Eric%20Tyler_young-min_zpszhnra2rh.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Black%20Eagle-min_zpscxxoabej.jpg

Eric Tyler comes out making a spectacular over-the-top entrance. He grabs a mic explaining how glad he is in New Orleans and is looking forward to meeting Black Eagle.

Black Eagle did not have much chance in the match though he showed improvement in his performance skills. In an extremely short match, Eric Tyler defeated Black Eagle in 5:20 by submission with a Tradition lift. – 59C

Joey Poison vs Tate Lyall

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Joey%20Poison-min_zpsiie4ycbg.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tate%20Lyall-min_zpsww4dqgp0.jpg

Both wrestlers entered the arena to the cheers of the audience and climbed into the ring to get the match on. In a terrible match, Joey Poison defeated Tate Lyall in 10:02 by pinfall with an Antidote Web. – 26E

Edwin D. Bashford vs Lionheart Lawson

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Lionheart%20Lawson-min_zps35zgxkcf.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Edwin%20D%20Bashford-min_zpscfzggulg.jpg

Both wrestlers entered the ring and Referee Eugene Williams called for the match to begin. You could see that Bashford was getting frustrated as Lionheart Lawson was getting the upper hand and proceeded to toss Edwin Bashford over the top ropes to the arena floor.

Bashford picked up a chair from ringside and proceeded to toss it into the ring as he quickly got back into the ring. He picked up the chair as Referee Eugene Williams tried to get it away from Bashford. Bashford shoved the referee aside and smacked Lionheart across the back with the chair. Referee Williams had no choice but to call for the bell to end the match.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Lionheart Lawson defeated Edwin D. Bashford in 10:02 by disqualification. – 38D-

Human Arsenal vs Donnie J/w Dixie Diamond

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Human%20Arsenal-min_zpsdyqdo1yn.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Donnie%20J-min_zpschdpdvhf.jpg

This brings us to the semi-main event. Human Arsenal entered the ring first, followed by Dixie Diamond as the new manager for Donnie J. She grabbed the mic and hyped the upcoming singles match between her client Donnie J and Human Arsenal.

The bell rang and both wrestlers grappled with each other. Neither seemed comfortable in the ring tonight. In a terrible match, Human Arsenal showing improvement in his performance skills defeated Donnie J in 10:21 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. – 27E

This leads us to the main event of the evening.

Main Event

The Hustlers (Ernie Turner & Roger Dodger) vs High Flyers (Tigre Salvaje & Steven Ambrose) in a tag match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Ernie%20Turner-min_zpstbbccsuj.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Roger%20Cage-min_zpsvijyfv8w.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tigre%20Salvaje-min_zpsbp5qyf9h.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Steven%20Ambrose_alt1-min_zpshfazepve.jpg

The Hustlers make an elaborate entrance as they are introduced making their debut performance in the LWL. They state how they were begged come here to bolster this organization and, for the right price, they came.

Referee Eugene Williams calls for the match to begin. While the crowd seemed to enjoy the match, outside of the improved performance skills of Tigre, the bout had sub-par wrestling and little heat. Tigre & Steven Ambrose defeated The Hustlers in 12:41 when Tigre Salvaje defeated Roger Dodger by pinfall with a Salvaje Suplex. – 43D

“Thank you for coming this evening. Have a safe drive home.” As Garrett Edwards closed the show.

Overall – 51D+

OOC: Considering the poor matches, I was happy with this overall score.

Thank you Tiberious4 for getting 4 out of 6 matches correct.

In a relatively easy match, as Tate Lyall appeared to be off his game. It had sub-par wrestling and little heat as Pablo Rodriguez easily defeated Tate Lyall in 11:06 by pinfall with a Sinner's Salvation. – 47D</p><p> </p><p>

“Now, for our next match we have…”</p><p> </p><p>

El Pistolero and Phoenix II entered the ring. The crowd waited when Red Alert make an elaborate entrance. Referee Ray Johnson signaled for the match to begin.</p><p> </p><p>

Fumihiro Ota showed his improving performance skills as he carried the match in terms of in-ring performance tonight. Not to be outdone in entrances, Little Bill Lebowski makes his entrance on a motorcycle, riding it from backstage to the ring to the boos of the crowd. Always the showman he is.</p><p> </p><p>

Just as referee Eugene Williams went to signal for the match to begin, Little Bill tried to attack Joey Poison but he avoided it and using a Japanese arm drag, flipped Little Bill on his back. Both teams enter the ring. The bell is rung for the match to begin. </p><p> </p><p>

The wrestlers tag in and out with neither side gaining and advantage. Roger Dodger and Tate Lyall are the official men in the ring. Tate Lyall is holding his own using his improved performance skills when Roger Dodger throws Tate through the ropes and onto the ring floor. Tate struggles to get up just as Roger Dodger hurls himself over the ropes onto Lyall and both men are down. This brings both Ernie Turner and Black Eagle down on the ring floor as they grapple with each other to prevent them from interfering.</p><p> </p><p>

Referee Ray Johnson urges both men to return to the ring but everyone is ignoring his commands. Finally, he is forced to begin his count. 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – Ray counts exhorting the two to get back to the ring. 7 – 8 – is the count when Tate delivers a chop to Roger and hurls himself onto the ring apron and rolls into the ring. 9 – 10 Ray continues the count and signals for the bell to end the match.</p><p> </p><p>

Both wrestlers enter the ring and the referee calls for the match to begin. Lionheart Lawson seems to be off his game tonight, but is still clearly winning the fight. Lionheart uses a spinning heel click on Edwin, sending him to the mat. He rolls out of the ring onto the floor where he appears to be trying to clear his head. Referee Eugene Williams begins his count. 1 – 2 – 3 – but it doesn’t seem to matter as Edwin D. Bashford heads for backstage. Lionheart is looking befuddled at the turn of events. When Williams reaches 10 he calls for the match to end and awards Lionheart Lawson with the win.</p><p> </p><p>

Both wrestlers make spectacular over-the-top entrances that please the crowd. The bell sounds and the match begins.</p><p> </p><p>

Both wrestlers appear to be evenly matched during the first few minutes. Bouncing off the ropes, Steve Flash sets up a series of drop kicks that send Human Arsenal to the mat. Steve goes to cover, 1 – 2 – kickout as Arsenal escapes. Human Arsenal then show Flash some of his skills, but neither can seem to put each other away. After fifteen minutes of back and forth action, Referee Ray Johnson calls for the bell. This match is a draw.</p><p> </p><p>

Saturday Week 2 October 1997

The matches for October Night, for Saturday Week 2 to be held at the Amarillo Civic Center in Amarillo, Texas in front of 2,374 fans.

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Garrett%20Edwards-min_zpsplglnekr.jpg It is 8:00 pm and Garrett Edwards enters the ring.

“Good evening Amarillo. It is great to be here.” Garrett talks briefly as he recaps the Shoreline Slam event.

Dixie Diamond, Eric Tyler and Tigre Salvaje enter the ring and join Garrett in discussing the crowning of the champion happening tonight. They all are excited at this new milestone for the Longhorn Wrestling League. The crowd is buzzing with excitement at this chance to see history made here tonight.

They wrap up their presentation and all leave but Dixie Diamond who introduces the first match of the evening. “This will be a ladder match. The first one to climb the ladder and recover the briefcase will win the $500 prize. Introducing…”

Brent Hill vs Donnie J in a ladder match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Brent%20Hill-min_zpsgi99neqt.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Donnie%20J-min_zpschdpdvhf.jpg

Referee Ray Johnson signals for both wrestlers to start for the ladder. Brent tripped Donnie and started up the ladder first. Donnie caught up with him about three steps up when he applied a half nelson suplex which sent them both to the mat. That move showed that Donnie is improving his performance skills.

The match continues with neither gaining the advantage. Both wrestlers are near the top of the ladder as it begins to wobble from both wrestlers applying blows to each other.

The ladder starts to go and both wrestlers attempt to jump off. Brent Hill hits the top rope and lands on his back on the floor outside the ring lying motionless. Donnie manages to miss the rope and land on the floor with his momentum sends him crashing into the guardrail splitting his forehead.

With blood streaming down his face, Donnie J is able to roll into the ring and sets up the ladder and starts his climb to the top. Brent Hill recovers from the floor and tries vainly to reach the ladder to stop Donnie, but to no avail. Donnie J retrieves the briefcase and jumps down to the mat the winner to the crowd’s delight.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Donnie J defeated Brent Hill in a Ladder match in 9:58 when Donnie J retrieved the briefcase containing the $500. – 52D+

Dixie climbs back into the ring after the match is over. “Our next match is a tag team match. From…”

Black Jacks (Black Eagle & Jack Giedroyc) vs Jack DeColt & Steven Ambrose in a tag match

Both teams have entered the ring and the match begins. The early advantage goes to the Black Jacks as you can see the improvements in Jack Giedroyc’s performance skills as they catch Jack DeColt in a powerbomb, neckbreaker combination for a two count.

Jack was finally able to make the tag to Steven Ambrose whose quick drop kick and cover to Black Eagle almost ended the match right there if Giedroyc hadn’t been able to kick Ambrose aside before the three count. The match continued back and forth until Steven Ambrose was able get the Dragon Drop on Jack Giedroyc and roll him up for the 3 count.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Jack DeColt and Steven Ambrose defeated The Black Jacks in 10:11 when Steven Ambrose defeated Jack Giedroyc by pinfall with a Dragon Drop. – 44D

Dixie has the mic to introduce the next match. “The next match for tonight is for one fall. The wrestlers are…”

Rodger Dodger vs Human Arsenal

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Roger%20Cage-min_zpsvijyfv8w.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Human%20Arsenal-min_zpsdyqdo1yn.jpg

Roger Dodger is the first to enter the ring. Dixie interviews Roger as he talks about himself as one of the greatest wresters of all time.

The Human Arsenal now enters the ring as Dixie leaves. Referee Ray Johnson calls for the bell to start the match.

Roger go a few licks in, but he was clearly outclassed by Human Arsenal. Neither wrestler looked particularly impressive tonight.

In a poor match, Human Arsenal defeated Roger Dodger in 9:46 by pinfall with an Ammo Dump. – 37D-

Dixie intones. “Our next match will feature...”

Rafael Ruiz vs Joey Poison

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Rafael%20Ruiz-min_zpstwmkaw52.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Joey%20Poison-min_zpsiie4ycbg.jpg

Joey Poison enters the arena and climbs into the ring where Dixie Diamond and he discuss his match with the skilled veteran, Rafael Ruiz. Joey is very excited at this match-up and hopes to be able get the victory.

Ruiz rushes Joey as the bell rings, but Joey jumps over Ruiz and catch him coming back with a drop kick that sends Ruiz down. Joey goes for a quick cover, but Ruiz easily kicks out. After some back and forth, Rafael Ruiz Irish whipped Joey into the turnbuckle and followed up with a double knee to the chest.

Joey managed to recover from this attack. He went to apply a stepover toehold facelock on Ruiz, who, using his technical skills, managed to get out of it. The match continued until Joey Poison executed a flying bulldog giving him time to apply the camel clutch on Ruiz. Referee Eugene Williams leaned in and asked Rafael Ruiz if he wanted to continue. Ruiz indicated no and Williams called for the bell as the crowd got hotter.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Joey Poison defeated Rafael Ruiz in a Submission match in 10:19 by submission. – 44D

Dixie hops back into the ring. “The next match is between…”

Phoenix II vs Fumihiro Ota

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Phoenix%20II_alt-min_zpsou3ioqjp.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Fumihiro%20Ota-min_zpsfgdon2xo.jpg

Fumihiro Ota enters the ring and is interviewed by Dixie Diamond. Fumihiro explains how his ninja skills will demolish his opponent tonight as Phoenix II enters the ring.

The bell is sounded and the match begins. Phoenix II strikes first as he whips Fumihiro to both turnbuckles and ends with a standing dropkick sending Ota to the mat. Fumihiro counters a few minutes later with a dragon whip to the chest of Phoenix II.

Both wrestlers are showing off their arial skills. Phoniex II executed his shooting star leg drop and, not to be outdone, Fumihiro showed off his corkscrew 450 splash but neither wrestler could get the cover.

Phoenix II was a little bit off his game tonight which was all that Fumihiro Ota needed. Once he got Phoenix II face down he applied his dragon sleeper which was enough to cause Phoenix II to tap out as the crowd was buzzing after the match.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Fumihiro Ota defeated Phoenix II in 10:09 by submission. – 46D

Dixie Diamond climbed onto the ring apron and slingshot herself to the ring. “And now we have the main event of the evening. Over the last couple of months, you have seen our top wrestlers battling it out to reach this stage. The winner tonight will become the first Longhorn Wrestling National Champion. Without any further wait, let’s introduce out contestants. First, from Northern Mexico…”

Tigre Salvaje vs Eric Tyler for the Longhorn Wrestling National Champion

Over the loudspeakers, new

Referee Eugene Williams signals the match to begin as Eric Tyler delivers a series of blistering forearm smashes to the side of the jaw of Tigre Salvage. Tigre is reeling and Eric tries to get a quick pin, 1 – 2 – kickout as Eric goes back to working on the left arm of Tigre.

Tigre manages to get free and slides off the apron onto the ring floor to get feeling back into his shoulder. He climbs back up to the apron where he sees Eric rushing towards him. Tigre springboards off the ropes delivering a dropkick that sends Eric to the mat. Salvaje tries a quick cover but Eric Tyler kicks out on a 2 count.

Both wrestlers continue to excel in the ring. Exciting moves and cover attempts go back and forth. With the wrestlers in the center of the ring, they trade off applying an arm wrench leading to an arm bar. Eric manages to get behind Tigre facing away from him and hooks his arms under Tigre’s and bends over applying the Tradition Lift. After a few seconds, Tigre Salvaje signals to the ref that he submits and it is all over.

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Eric Tyler defeated Tigre Salvaje in 14:46 by submission with a Tradition lift. Eric Tyler wins the Longhorn Wrestling National Champion title. – 68C+

Dixie enters the ring with the belt and presents it to Eric Tyler as he is celebrating his victory in the ring. Eric takes the mic, as confetti falls over the ring, lambasting all those who thought he could not do it. “There is going to be new era now in the LWL!”

Eric leaves with the belt as Dixie takes the microphone. “On behalf of our DVD team of Mitch Naess and The Guru, Garrett Edwards and myself, thank you for attending and have a safe drive home.”

Steve Flash dazzles the crowd with some excellent arial skills that leave Human Arsenal wobbling in the ring. Steve gathers Human Arsenal and has him in a fireman’s carry before executing the pin with his Flash Bang.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Steve Flash defeated Human Arsenal in 15:12 by pinfall with a Flash Bang. – 51D+

Dixie enters the ring to a hotter crowd as she announces the next match. “The opponents for the next match are…”

Lionheart Lawson vs El Pistolero

Lionheart Lawson managed to get a much needed win. In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Lionheart Lawson defeated El Pistolero in 10:40 by pinfall with a Pride-plex. – 35E+

Dixie introduces the next match.

Edwin D. Bashford vs Tate Lyall

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Edwin%20D%20Bashford-min_zpscfzggulg.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tate%20Lyall-min_zpsww4dqgp0.jpg

It appeared that both men were just going through the motions in this match. Tate Lyall was well off his game, maybe anticipating his new tag team partner Monty Walker coming back from injury.

In a terrible match, Edwin D. Bashford defeated Tate Lyall in 9:42 by submission with an inverted cloverleaf. – 25E

Dixie climbs into the ring to announce the next match when the sounds of African drums begin.

Little Bill Lebowski W/ Konga vs Brent Hill

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Little%20Bill%20Lebowski-min_zps9vd2cqpo.jpg W/ http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Damon%20Carruthers-min_zpsxd0r0ovf.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Brent%20Hill-min_zpsgi99neqt.jpg

Little Bill Lebowski saunters from back stage with a mic, behind him walks a large person. Little Bill speaks softly into the mic. “This is the surprise I have in store for you, Brent Hill, and for all the LWL. From Kenya, meet Konga.” Little Bill and his new bodyguard Konga enter the ring. Konga and Little Bill got the crowd hotter.

The improvement in Lebowski’s rumble and performance skill showed as he was giving Brent Hill fits. Brent was always trying to keep one eye on Konga and the other on Little Bill.

Around the five-minute mark, Brent had Little Bill in an abdominal stretch that was taking it tolls when Little Bill yelled “Konga!”. Konga, it seems, flew through the ropes and chokeslammed Brent Hill to the mat and began to stomp on his chest with his foot.

Referee Eugene Williams tried to get Konga to stop but Konga grabbed him like a ragdoll and tossed him to the corner. Williams got to his knees and called for the bell to end the match.

For a few more minutes, Konga. and L'il Lebowski continued to attack Brent Hill in the ring, and leave him down and out.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Brent Hill defeated Little Bill Lebowski in 5:08 when Little Bill Lebowski was disqualified when Konga ran in and attacked Brent Hill. – 40D-

Dixie climbed up in the ring to announce the next match.

Hi-5’s (Donnie J & Jack DeColt) vs The Hustlers (Roger Dodger & Ernie Turner) in a tag match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Donnie%20J-min_zpschdpdvhf.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Jack%20DeColt-min_zpsamawdihw.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Roger%20Cage-min_zpsvijyfv8w.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Ernie%20Turner-min_zpstbbccsuj.jpg

The Hi-5’s enter first and Dixie Diamond begins her interview with them as they begin to explain how they will take care of The Hustlers. In the middle of the interview, the Hustlers arrive from backstage with a mic in hand and say, “What are you going to do with us?”

The Hustlers enter the ring where the four of them continue to argue, going back and forth on the microphone. Ernie and Roger clearly was getting their point across when Donnie J shoved Ernie to the mat and the match began.

In a terrible match, Hi-5's defeated The Hustlers in 9:36 when Jack DeColt defeated Ernie Turner by submission with an End Of Days. – 34E+

Dixie takes the microphone. “Thank you all for showing up tonight. On behalf of our DVD team of Mitch Naess and The Guru and myself, have a safe drive home.”

Saturday Week 2 November 1997

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/ETWL_Fall%20Brawl%20Generic-min_zps3bbnq0ji.jpg Fall Brawl

The matches for Fall Brawl, for Saturday Week 2 to be held at the Amarillo Civic Center in Amarillo, Texas in front of 2,343 fans.

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Garrett%20Edwards-min_zpsplglnekr.jpg It is 8:00 pm and Garrett Edwards, along with The Guru and Eric Tyler enter the ring.

“Good evening Amarillo. It is great to be back here.” Garrett talks briefly as he recaps the South-East Storm event.

Garrett joins The Guru and Eric Tyler discuss how it feels to be the Longhorn Wrestling National Champion and his match this evening with Joey Poison. Tyler states how he will treat the title with the respect it deserves and how it should be a good match with Joey. Garrett Edwards and Eric Tyler leave the ring as The Guru goes over tonight’s matches with the crowd and explains the tag team round robin to determine the Longhorn Wrestling Tag Team Champion.

“The six tag teams will play one match against each other so each team will have five matches. The team earns two points for a win, one for a draw and 0 for a loss. The team with the most points will be the winner. In case of multiple teams with the same points, they will meet to determine the new Longhorn Wrestling Tag Team Champion.”

With the crowd getting hotter the first match will begin. “Our first match is a tag team match between…”

The Marvelous Ones (Monty Walker & Tate Lyall) vs The Black Jacks (Black Eagle & Jack Giedroyc) in a tag match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Monty%20Walker-min_zpsfyimudfq.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tate%20Lyall-min_zpsww4dqgp0.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Black%20Eagle-min_zpscxxoabej.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Jack%20Giedroyc_Rogue-min_zpsyvhov4jh.jpg

The new team or Monty Walker and Tate Lyall enter the ring. The Guru talks to Monty Walker about his previous injury and the formation of the The Marvelous Ones.

Monty Walker is excited to get back to work. He is feeling fine now that his femoral stress fracture is healed. He thinks Tate Lyall will be a good partner as they work very well together. Tate indicates he is also very happy to have been chosen by Monty to be his tag team partner.

The crowd responds to the new team as their opponent for the match tonight is being introduced. The Black Jacks walk from backstage and enter the ring.

Referee Ray Johnson quickly checks the wrestlers and signal for the match to begin. Clearly Monty Walker is head and shoulders above the other wrestlers but his impact teaming with Tate is showing as it is obvious that his performance skills have been enhanced.

The fairly even match takes a decided turn after Black Eagle Irish whipped Tate Lyall into the turnbuckle and ran toward Tate to stick him in the corner. Just as he made his move, Jack Giedroyc took some object from his trunks and missed Tate with it but caught the forehead of Black Eagle. Tate quickly made the cover for the count while Jack stood by looking befuddled.

In a poor match, The Marvelous Ones defeated The Black Jacks in 14:51 when Tate Lyall defeated Black Eagle by pinfall after Jack Giedroyc missed Tate using a foreign object but hit Black Eagle instead. – 40D-

The Guru climbs into the ring to announce the next match. “The next match for this evening is for one fall, introducing…”

Phoenix II vs Rafael Ruiz

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Phoenix%20II_alt-min_zpsou3ioqjp.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Rafael%20Ruiz-min_zpstwmkaw52.jpg

Both wrestlers enter from the backstage together to a crowd looking forward to this match. They climb into the ring and the match begins.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Phoenix II defeated Rafael Ruiz in 9:59 by pinfall with a Northern Lights Suplex. – 41D

This leads us to our next match.

Eric Tyler vs Joey Poison in a non-title match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Eric%20Tyler_young-min_zpszhnra2rh.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Joey%20Poison-min_zpsiie4ycbg.jpg

Joey Poison enters the ring first. Suddenly you hear the

of Eric Tyler as he makes an elaborate entrance.

Eric climbs into the ring. Referee Ray Johnson checks the wrestlers and signals the bell to ring to begin the match.

The match starts with both wrestlers looking even. Joey Poison gets the first cover after he executes a fireman’s carry slam to the mat. That seemed to spur Eric Tyler on. After being Irish whipped to the ropes, Eric clotheslined Joey on the way back.

As Joey wobbles up, Eric gets behind him and hooks both of Joey’s arms and bends over applying the Tradition lift. Referee Ray Johnson leans in to see if Joey Poison wants to submit as Joey screams “Yes, yes”. Ray calls for the bell and this match is over.

In a decent match, Eric Tyler defeated Joey Poison in 7:38 by submission with a Tradition lift. – 50D+

The Guru climbs into the ring. “For the next match, we introduce a newcomer on loan to us from CACW, Tom Gilmore and his opponent tonight is …”

Human Arsenal vs Tom Gilmore

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Human%20Arsenal-min_zpsdyqdo1yn.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Angry%20Gilmore-min_zpsumsu69pp.jpg

Both wrestlers arrive from backstage together and climb into the ring.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Human Arsenal defeated Tom Gilmore in 11:56 by pinfall with an Ammo Dump. – 44D

The match brought the crowd up waiting for the main event.

“The next match is the main event. It is for one fall with a 15-minute time limit. Introducing…”

Cat & Mouse (Tigre Salvaje & Steven Ambrose) vs Salvation Justice (Pablo Rodriguez and El Pistolero) in a tag match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tigre%20Salvaje-min_zpsbp5qyf9h.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Steven%20Ambrose_alt1-min_zpshfazepve.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/El%20Pistolero-min_zpse6kk9sj0.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Pablo%20Rodriguez-min_zps3vgfxbfa.jpg

The first team arriving from backstage is Cat & Mouse, Tigre Salvaje and Steven Ambrose. They have a spectacular entrance as they saunter around the ring to the cheering crowd before climbing the steps and entering the ring.

Not to be outdone, Salvation Justice, Pablo Rodriguez and El Pistolero, enter from backstage. They go straight to the ring ready for business.

The referee checks them over and the match begins. The smoothness of their moves shows off the improvements to Tigre’s and Pablo’s performance and technical skills.

The match is a classic display of arial moves from these luchadore style workers. The legal men in the ring just before the excitement starts is Tigre and Pablo. Salvaje has just body slammed Pablo to the mat when he climbs up to the top rope and delivers an elbow to the chest to the prostate Pablo and reaches around grabbing the leg for the cover.

Referee Ray Johnson begins the count 1 – 2 – when El Pistolero runs over and kicks the back of Tigre, stopping the pin. Not to be left out, Steven Ambrose enters the ring so all four wrestlers are now in the ring. Tigre is now battling El Pistolero and Rodriguez is battling Steven Ambrose.

Suddenly, Pablo Rodriguez executed a backbreaker on Ambrose and goes for the cover. At the same time Tigre Salvaje has applied a crossface chickenwing on El Pistolero. The referee begins the count on Ambose 1 – 2 – 3 at the same time he hears El Pistolero yell “I quit, I quit!”

Referee Ray Johnson calls for the bell as Pablo jumps up excitedly thinking he had won the match. But Ray Johnson is not so sure.

Garrett Edwards enters the ring to confer with the referee.

They huddle in the corner for a couple of minutes while the crowd is silent.

Edwards takes the mic. “Since the legal men in the ring were not fighting each other when the pin and submission occurred as time ran out this match is ruled a draw.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Cat & Mouse drew with Salvation Justice in 15:00 when the time limit expired and the judges ruled it a draw. – 53C-

All four wrestlers continue to argue with Garrett and Ray Johnson as The Guru slips into the ring and takes the microphone.

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/The%20Guru-min_zpsqyazqvaz.jpg “Thank you all for showing up tonight. On behalf of our DVD team of Mitch Naess and Dixie Diamond and for Garrett Edwards and myself, have a safe drive home. See you in two weeks for Thanksgiving event.”

The matches for Massacre Before Christmas on Saturday Week 1 to be held at the The Leavenworth Armory in Leavenworth, Kansas in front of 1,482 fans.

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/The%20Guru-min_zpsqyazqvaz.jpg It is 8:00 pm and The Guru enters the ring.

“Good evening Leavenworth. It is great to be back here.” The Guru talks briefly as he recaps the Thanksgiving event and goes over tonight’s matches with the crowd.

This got the show off to a strong start and excited the crowd.

Salvation Justice (Pablo Rodriguez & El Pistolero) vs The Marvelous Ones (Monty Walker & Tate Lyall) in a tag match

Salvation Justice enters the ring first followed by an elaborate entrance by The Marvelous Ones. The crowd cheers wildly for Monty Walker and Tate Lyall.

Referee Ray Johnson checks each wrestler and Pablo Rodriguez and Tate Lyall square off to begin the match. The early part of the match shows off Pablo’s improving technical skills as Tate Lyall seems to be off his game tonight. While Tate Lyall was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance, he was showing improvements in his performance skills.

In a decent match, The Marvelous Ones defeated Salvation Justice in 15:11 when Monty Walker defeated Pablo Rodriguez by pinfall with a Walk This Way. – 52D+

Black Jacks (Black Eagle & Jack Giedroyc) vs Cat & Mouse (Tigre Salvaje & Steven Ambrose) in a tag match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Black%20Eagle-min_zpscxxoabej.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Jack%20Giedroyc_Rogue-min_zpsyvhov4jh.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tigre%20Salvaje-min_zpsbp5qyf9h.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Steven%20Ambrose_alt1-min_zpshfazepve.jpg

Both teams have entered the ring and the match is ready to begin. Black Eagle and Tigre Salvaje start as the legal men in the ring. Both sides trade tags back and forth as they go after each other.

Both sides appear evenly matched as Jack Giedroyc shows improving performance skills. Jack and Steven Ambrose are in the ring. Jack Giedroyc whips Steven towards his corner where Black Eagle has entered the ring and is waiting for Ambrose.

Tigre tries to get into the ring and is kept back by Ambrose as Black Eagle does a bone thudding DDT on Steven Ambrose who is flat on the mat and appears to be unconscious. The Black Jacks then proceed to beatdown Tigre. Referee Eugene Williams tries to get order, but then calls for the bell as he disqualifies The Black Jacks.

Tigre slowly gets up as the referee raises his arm in victory as paramedics rush onto the ring to check the fallen Steven Ambrose. The paramedics place a cervical collar around Ambrose’s neck as they help him out of the ring and backstage.

In a decent match, Cat & Mouse defeated The Black Jacks in 11:46 when Black Eagle was disqualified for entering the ring fighting Steven Ambrose. – 53C-

Fumihiro Ota vs Human Arsenal

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Fumihiro%20Ota-min_zpsfgdon2xo.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Human%20Arsenal-min_zpsdyqdo1yn.jpg

Both wrestlers are in the ring. Referee Ray Johnson checks them over and the match begins. You could see that these two did not really get along as some of the blows seemed to be stronger than necessary.

Human Arsenal threw Fumihiro out onto the ring floor and proceeded to go there himself. The Arsenal then grabbed Ota up and rammed him against the ring post. Picked him up again and rammed him into the other ring post leaving him stunned and on the ring floor.

Human Arsenal rolled himself back into the ring as Ray Johnson begins his count. 1 – 2 – 3 as you see Fumihiro Ota struggle to his feet still looking dazed. 4 – 5 – 6 as Ota seems not to know where he is. 8 – 9 – 10 referee Johnson counts when he waves the match off and raises the arm of Human Arsenal.

In a decent match, Human Arsenal defeated Fumihiro Ota in 12:03 by count out. – 43D

Donnie J vs Brent Hill

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Donnie%20J-min_zpschdpdvhf.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Brent%20Hill-min_zpsgi99neqt.jpg

Donnie J is introduced first and enters the ring to the rising cheers of the crowd as he goes around ringside waving and high fiving the crowd. Brent Hill is introduced next and enters the ring. The reaction of the crowd is much more subdued and even some jeers could be heard.

Eugene Williams check the contestants and the match is on. Both of them put on a good show for the crowd getting them up and ready for the next match.

In a decent match, Brent Hill defeated Donnie J in 14:55 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. – 47D

Steve Flash vs Eric Tyler in a title match

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Steve%20Flash-min_zpsdrlmwwdw.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/VS2-min_zpssp2dokl8.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Eric%20Tyler_young-min_zpszhnra2rh.jpg

Steve Flash makes his way to the ring. This is followed by Eric Tyler’s entrance music. A large pyrotechnic explosion is triggered as Eric Tyler enters and makes a spectacular over-the-top entrance as he makes his way to the ring.

The Guru meets Eric in the ring and discuss that this is the first defense of the Longhorn Wrestling National Champion title. Eric is very pleased that his first defense is against Steve Flash, a wrestler worthy to challenge him.

Both wrestlers showed excellent ring skills as the match went back and forth. Eric Tyler started to get the advantage when he slammed Steve into the turnbuckle and then placed him in a headlock. While referee Ray Johnson was not able to see what was happening, Tyler reached into his trunks and pulled something out and smashed it into the forehead of Steve Flash.

Steve backed off, grimacing in pain as Eric Tyler deftly maneuvered around to the back of Steve where he hooked his arms and pulled him back into Tyler’s Tradition Lift. Steve was working desperately to get out of the hold but the pain was too severe and submitted.

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Eric Tyler defeated Steve Flash in 17:29 by submission with a Tradition lift after blatantly cheating.

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/The%20Guru-min_zpsqyazqvaz.jpg The Guru climbs into the ring. “Thank you all for showing up tonight. On behalf of our DVD team of Mitch Naess and Dixie and myself, have a safe drive home. See you in three weeks for Christmas Chaos.”

Overall – 56C
