<p>Great read, I love the mix of talent that you have going on. Then again, I always loved WCW and I thought they deserved a better fate than they got. Especially the WWE Invasion Angle that could have been so much more.</p><p> </p><p>

My schedule is hectic, along with my own dynasty reports, so I may not predict much, but I'm curious to see where this Nash and Rhodes vs. Trump feud goes. Keep up the good work, I'll be following.</p>

WCW Nitro July Week 1 2001

WCW Nitro is live from the Knott Arena in Maryland and we have Mike Tenay and Jerry “The King” Lawler in the booth calling the action in front of a sold-out crowd. (This is the last WCW Show aired on FX, because they didn’t want Thunder anymore.)

Dusty Rhodes comes out to kick off the show.

Dusty Rhodes: “We are three weeks away from The Bash at the Beach. I got my match and I couldn’t be happier, but I have my doubts. I want my son to be in my corner, but I’m afraid to see who you will bring. You have the Billion Dollar Corporation in your back pocket for sure. You have the numbers, you have the money, you have the power, but you will never own a Rhodes. I have an idea. This a big match for you Donald Trump. It’s your first. You have no idea what to expect. I know you will have some tricks up your wallet. So, I have an idea. Next week I will wrestle a match against any man you want, under the stipulation if I win the Billion Dollar Corporation is banned from ringside. If I lose I won’t bring my son or even Big Sexy. I will face all odds on my own. What do you say Mr. Trump?”

Segment Rating – 68

Ted DiBiase comes out to confront Dusty Rhodes on behalf of Donald Trump.

Ted DiBiase: “I can take it on good authority he will take your offer. He will select you opponent for next week. I will say that tonight he has made a match as your son, Dustin, will face Rick Steiner tonight. He won’t make it to next week after we get through with him. You are banned from ringside. Good luck next week. You’ll need it.”

Segment Rating – 75

Rey Misterio Jr./Shane Helms/Lash Leroux vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr./Elix SkipperKid Romeo

Chavo avoided Rey for the whole match. Alexis Laree came out during the match. Helms and Misterio dove to the outside to take out Skipper and Romeo. Leroux has the match won but Laree gets on the apron and wants a kiss from Leroux. Chavo takes advantage and rolls up Leroux for the victory in 8:50. Laree jumps off the apron and takes notice of Kid Romeo after the match and hugs him as she helped her man’s team win the match.

Match Rating – 55

Mike Sanders, Mark Jindrak, and Sean Stasiak come down to the ring.

Mike Sanders: “A few weeks ago we came up short and got embarrassed by a bunch of old-timers. Thankfully they have been caught and placed back into the retirement homes they escaped from. Tonight, we have an open challenge against any team under the age of 40. So who is it going to be?”

Chuck Palumbo and Sean O’Haire, WCW Tag Team Champions, come down to the ring ready to fight.

Segment Rating – 53

Chuck Palumbo and Sean O’Haire vs. Mike Sanders and Mark Jindrak

The Tag Champs dominate the match and it’s over in 6:50 when they hit a double dropkick on Jindrak and then Sanders as Palumbo makes the cover for the victory.

Match Rating – 63

Palumbo and O’Haire pick up the victory, but Totally Buffed come down with chairs and catch the Tag Champions off guard. They have looked like they are not on the same page, but tonight they are working together to beat down the Champions. They grab the titles and start to pose with them as they throw them down and leave the ring as Palumbo and O’Haire are down and out.

Segment Rating – 65

James Mitchell leads The Reaper out to the ring.

James Mitchell: “The Reaper doesn’t believe that we have seen the last of Sting. I don’t believe we have seen the last of Sting. You all believe that Sting will be back. I know he has escaped the Casket from the Great American Bash. This time it will be different. There will be no escape. We challenge you Sting to a Casket Match at Bash at the Beach. The loser will be locked inside and there will be no escape for Sting. We will prove that Sting isn’t a supernatural being. The Reaper will not be defeated. Next week we will bring out the special made Casket for Sting’s final resting place. Made by The Reaper just like he does for all his victims.”

Segment Rating – 57

The lights go off in the building and Sting appears on the tron. He is walking on a roof at night on a skyscraper.

Sting: “I accept your challenge. I have never been in a match where the stakes were so high. I don’t care. I know guys like you, The Reaper. I will bury you and I will never have to worry about seeing you again. When I lock you inside of your own creation it will be game over. I’ll see you at Bash at the Beach. Don’t forget to bring the Casket.”

Segment Rating – 74

The Nitro Girls come out for a dance routine as we close out the first hour of the show.

Match Rating – 70

Shane Douglas is backstage with his New Four Horsemen.

Shane Douglas: “Last week, Ric Flair you couldn’t even make it to the ring for our match. Somehow, they still give you another shot. That’s fine by me. If you lose this time it’s game over, old man. I’m the new Nature Boy, this is the new Four Horsemen. This is my United States Championship. There isn’t anything you can do about it.”

Segment Rating – 52

Gillberg (w/Ralphus) vs. Doink the Clown (w/Chuckles)

Doink squirts water in the face of Gillberg to start the match. Doink just ties him up in knots before taking him down with the Whoopie Cushion in 4:16.

Segment Rating – 32

Booker T is backstage.

Booker T: “So Jeff Jarrett won the opportunity and gives it to Scott Steiner so he can face me at Bash at the Beach. I don’t care what he does. All I know is that it’s going to be difficult with both men at ringside, but I don’t care. I may even up the odds I’m not sure. I may get Stevie Ray to watch my back or one of my old friends from hood. It doesn’t matter, because I will defeat Scott Steiner again. Now can you dig that, sucka?!”

Segment Rating – 84

Booker T vs. Disco Inferno

Booker T picks up an easy win over Disco Inferno with the Harlem Hangover in 7:10.

Match Rating – 74

Scott Steiner appears on the tron.

Scott Steiner: “I decided not to show up to Nitro tonight, because I heard you were wrestling. I only like to watch Elites wrestle like myself. You won against me because you got lucky. That’s all it was. I was cheated, I’m over that now. I got another chance thanks to my best friend, Jeff Jarrett. Booker you better enjoy my title, because I’m taking it back at Bash at the Beach.”

Segment Rating – 77

Ric Flair is backstage.

Ric Flair: “Tonight is the night that Ric Flair wins gold again. You are a rip off. You are trying to be me, because you know I’m better than yourself. Just remember, there is nothing better than the original. I’m going to prove it that to be the man you need to beat the man. You have never beaten me fair and square. Woooo!”

Segment Rating – 74

United States Championship – Shane Douglas © vs. Ric Flair

Ric Flair and Shane Douglas are having a pretty decent match despite not getting along backstage. Ric Flair goes to put the figure four leglock on and Shane Douglas pushes him off and he goes to the outside. C.W, Candido, and Diamond surround Ric Flair. Then the Four Horsemen theme hits. Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Barry Windham come out on the ramp and start walking down. They start brawling on the outside. Ric Flair rolls in the ring. WCW Dirt Sheet Week 1 July

<img src='

https://s25.postimg.org/dvto7acqn/9fdl_M.png' border='0' alt='9fdl_M'/></a>

WCW Dirt Sheet

  • Chyna is set to become a free agent in the upcoming weeks. Intel from within the WCW say they do want to strike a deal if possible. This opens up some to believe that a Women's Division is coming. They did recently sign some women to developmental deals, but belief is that they wouldn't be ready until at least 2002 if they even decide to go that route.

  • The Four Horsemen seems incomplete without J.J. Dillon. They have been talks to bring him back with the company to manage them at Bash at the Beach. There is speculation of a 4 on 4 Elimination Match between the two groups.

  • The loser of the Casket Match at Bash at the Beach will more than likely get repackaged. There are some in the company that believe Sting's reign as The Crow maybe coming to an end.

  • Donald Trump's idea of two brands seemed to be on hold after FX cancelled Thunder unexpectedly. Trump was aware of the possibility the whole time. He had been working on World of Sports network from some time.

  • The World of Sports network will carry WCW Nitro and WCW Thunder and they will air all over the world. Trump has been working on this since before the XFL was started. McMahon was a financial backer of the Network's origins until his football league went under.

  • The World of Sports Network will air old episodes of WCW programming as well as past PPV events. They also carry other sports that don't get very much attention on other sports networks like Bowling, Tennis, and Lacrosse. There are hopes to expanding the sports and WCW should help with the ratings.

  • Arn Anderson has been cleared for in-ring competition, but it looks to be a one match only thing. He has been wanting to get back in the ring since being forced to retire.

  • Luna Vachon was missing this week. She has failed a second drug test leading to a 30 suspension. It looks like she will return with Kanyon when she is back. If she fails another test she will be terminated from WCW.

  • The Opportunity Knocks tournament is being seen as a train wreck so far. John Cena and Samoa Joe had it going strong, but this week's matches were horrible. It looks like the winner will get to stay on the main roster. There push will be decided by how well they perform with other main card guys.

  • David Flair created some buzz after his unscripted promo was a mild success. He is still not living up to his name.

  • Ric Flair and Shane Douglas will be split up after a backstage altercation. The Bash at the Beach match will still occur and it will be the last time they are in a match together for awhile. Rumor has it that Shane Douglas will be on the Thunder brand as they want Flair on the main show, Nitro.

  • Booker T maybe the odd man out as it looks like he will be chosen to be the face of Thunder.

  • Nitro and Thunder will have their own main, secondary, tag team, and cruiserweight titles. The Hardcore Championship has vanished from TV and the Cruiserweight Tag Team titles will be changed into Thunder's Tag Team title featuring all teams.

  • WCW has hired several cruiserweights trying to boost their numbers for the split. Most of them are famaliar faces to WCW fans.

  • Nitro and Thunder will both be given weekly authority figures as Trump will only be apart of major angles after Bash at the Beach wraps up. Bret Hart was considered but turned down the role as he doesn't want to work for WCW again. Eric Bischoff also wouldn't return as well as he feels bitter about not getting to buy the company.

  • The General Manager of Nitro will be a main star from the past as they are wanting a big name and somebody who could still wrestle if needed. The same is for Thunder, but the star power won't be as high.

  • The week before Bash at the Beach is when they will announce the rosters for Nitro and Thunder. This is to put more on the line for the title matches as some will not be getting another chance or a rematch.

  • The Bash at the Beach is set to have a ton of swerves to build antipation to the brand split and cement itself as one of the 5 main events of the year.

  • Co branded PPVs looks to be World War 3, Bash at the Beach, Great American Bash, Halloween Havoc, and Starrcade.

  • The Reaper and Sting Casket Match is rumored to have a special guest enforcer. It will more than likely be a celebrity.

  • CM Punk is very upset about being stuck in NWA Wildside after making two appearances on Thunder. He was just used for that and officials want him to go back to work on some things. They did promise him that they have big plans for him in the future.

I'm going to stop with the predictions and maybe pull them out for the PPVs. I want you when you read this diary to tell me what you think. Suggestions. Things you like things you don't like. Who is not getting the push? Who do you like? Who do you not like? What storyline is your favorite? What storyline is your least favorite? Things like that.
