January 2017 the biggest story in professional wrestling, Emerald Angel has walked out after WLW decided to place Magnum Kobe as their figure head. The conditions of his release were that he could not sign with another company that aired a TV show. His solution, start his own company!

 

Knowing that he tarnished his name in Japan, he decided to move to the USA (with his protege Mercury) with the goal of starting the greatest promotion in the world, to go along with the fact that he is the greatest wrestler in the world. In order to help figure out the American market, he contacted one of the biggest names (that was available) in pro wrestling to take over the books, Peter Michaels.

So I am attempting another diary, this one I am pretty excited for.

I have been watching a lot of Lucha Underground and have always had love for masked wrestlers and lucha/high flying wrestling. So I am hopeful this one will last and be fun!

The first season will feature two tournaments to crown the new Paradise King and Ultimate Duo championships. All contracts offered are touring contracts with only the best of the best being offered to return next season. Due to Emerald Angel not being able to run weekly TV shows, he has been able to negotiate highlight reels for his shows that will feature action from each of the two live shows. Each month will also feature a main Event that instead of featuring the tournament action will instead feature all 3 v. 3 action in order to crown a Ultimate Trio Champion. Grimm & Gram used their strength and quickness to their advantage and were easily able to take control of the match. Despite his aerial superiority, Roger was able to use his experience to catch Mercury making a rookie mistake. Kid San Juan was able to display his agility and wow the crowd with a twisting suicide dive to the recovering Shadow Riders. It could be because they got to see Emerald Angel the night before, but this match did not elicit the same response. So after I was working on the show write up and continuing to play, I realized that not only did a book myself into a boring corner with the way I was presenting this, but it has moved away from the vision that I have. So what I am planning to do, is only post the show results for the 1st "season" and then post a more in depth final PPV. This final PPV will lead to the second season that will be more action oriented, and get closer to my vision of my own version of Lucha Underground.

Mimic</p><p> A great way to start the show, as the crowd was pumped up for this match. Both workers went all out to prove who was the better worker. Evenly matched, it was Mimic who would gain the upper hand after rolling out of the ring and countering a suicide dive with a drop kick. Mimic made liberal usage of the lack of DQs and slammed Cougar on the ring steps before throwing him back into the ring. Mimic played to the crowd a little too much as he set up for The Screwdriver, which enabled Masked Cougar to hit a painful looking ddt. Although Amo had the speed advantage, White Angel was no slouch and had the fans chanting “This is awesome” when he hit Amo with a leaping spinning heel kick, while Amo was on the the top rope.
