Well I just found this laying around lol

EDIT: After watching that I'm really shocked the Ref called that so early. Not one person hit the mat...back in the day they wouldn't call TKOs unless they hit the mat 3 times in a match. I really wanted to see that play out until the end.

I watched the fight... I went in not expecting much from a defensive past his best boxer vs an MMA guy with no boxing experience. I got pretty much what I thought, only with it running a bit longer than I expected.

I don't for a moment doubt the talents of each of the men in their respective fields, but this was one of the most cynical cash grabs of all time and the fight was pretty boring. Boxing is boring. And it's no wonder its dying a slow kind of death while MMA continues to grow.

As for the finish (and since I'm assuming anyone reading this has seen the fight already), Connor was clearly beaten at the point it was stopped. He may not have hit the floor but he was exhausted, not defending himself properly (boxing is different from MMA) and was just going to get murdered if it went any longer. I'm glad the referee stopped it when he did, though at first viewing I was disappointed since I'm far more used to seeing MMA or wrestling than I am boxing.

Overall... the fight was a fairly predictable disappointment that was all hype. Both should go work for the WWE. :p

I thought it was an entertaining fight. I rooted for Floyd, even though he was almost a sure-fire winner from the beginning (bar some miraculous fluke power punch). Conor was visibly tired after the 8th round and fully gassed after all the hard hits in the 9th. Completely unnecessary to complain about the TKO, not only was McGregor losing, his legs were faltering and his only chance of winning was an early knockout anyway. To his credit, he was better than I imagined; he had some solid rounds in the beginning and one nice uppercut.

Even though the Showtime commentators said Floyd was 'working his heel persona', he dodged the post-fight questions about beating Marciano's streak quite well :p

Apparently they showed it here for free on national TV, but it was very early in the morning and I wasn't that hyped for it due to reason disclosed by others already. I saw the "highlights", which weren't all that spectacular. Makes me remember why I don't like boxing much...
