How do you start one of these things off? When you hear this just know this, I wasn’t looking for any big acclaim or accolades, just a retired man with a prized bike. A bike that was worth thousands and something I looked to ride from here to Tokyo. I wish this story was just about a bike ride, but as it turns out it became something a little bit more wrestling centered. I got the call from Kyle while I was riding through Minnesota, nothing too crazy, but then again not every day a CEO calls some bike rider. Kyle thought he was smart, talking about the old days and who and what was popular, but I heard it in his voice and he knew it too. He asked me to take the book for TCW, which I wasn’t too surprised at as the news out of the company was bleak these days and not many people were quite confident in Brent’s ability to make new stars. Brent could give you excellent storylines and amazing matchups that drew 30,000, but he wasn’t a guy who could make stars. I said no in my head, but somewhere along the line, the brain and the mouth diverged and my trip through Minnesota turned into a trip to TCW Headquarters in LA.

<p>Goals for TCW</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Goals from the boss</strong></p><p>

After handing me control of booking, Kyle told me exactly what his plans are:</p><p> </p><p>

1. Got to keep TCW in the name of the top 3 companies in the world.<em>Tough to stave off SOTBPW and NOTBPW if they start expanding into the states</em>. </p><p> </p><p>

2. Keep Troy Tornado’s Popularity good in the USA. <em>basically make this guy a main eventer and keep him there. Not sure about this either as Troy isn’t on my high priority lists. </em></p><p><em>

</em></p><p>

3. Get Giant Tana to a good popularity in the US. <em>This must be a joke</em>.</p><p> </p><p>

4. No psychotic wrestlers. <em>Easy</em></p><p><em>

</em></p><p>

5. No signing or extending people who have trouble with the law. <em>No fun, need a good rebel in here now and again. </em></p><p><em>

</em></p>

Booking Team meeting before the show

Mayhem_Midden.jpgBrent_Hill.jpgJoel_Bryant.jpgJason_Azaria.jpg

I got in a little late, but Brent, Joel, and Jason had started mapping out some paths we could take.

Brent: Sammy has to chase gold in 2 months at the most.

Joel: What title? He can’t face Andrews; Golden & Andrews is guaranteed money.

Jason: Triple Threat solves everything?

That’s when the shouting started over what could and couldn’t be done and god were they loud, this isn’t the sound of my bike starting, but three men who can’t coordinate. I slammed my soda can on the table and that got heads turning towards me. They needed to work together and I explained how we can co-exist our ideals and my plans for TCW. Cooler heads won and the booking was hatched. God this is gonna be a long haul

TCW Presents Total Wrestling, Tuesday, Week 1, January 2017

TCW1.jpg

Tuesday, Week 1 January 2017

Venue: V. Thompson Arena

Attendance: 10,000

Nate_Johnson.jpgimage.jpgTana_The_Mighty.jpg

Nate Johnson Vs. Giant Tana

A relatively Easy match to run over, Nate tries to take the cowardly way out with eye pokes and low blows when the ref isn’t looking, but this tube of fun isn’t let down and wins with his weight alone.

Grade: C-

Midden’s Muse: I’m so sorry Nate, but a goal is a goal so the mini push on Tana starts now

Jasmine_Saunders.jpgAmerican_Buffalo.jpgFloyd_Goldworthy.jpg

Transitioning backstage, we see TCW Correspondent Jasmine Saunders standing by with Floyd Goldworthy and his client, American Buffalo.

Jasmine: Mr. Goldworthy, any thoughts on this feud your client has waged with Ricky Dale Johnson?

Goldworthy: Thoughts? Only thought running through my mind is how after Malice in Wonderland, what will the future TCW World Heavyweight champion do when American Buffalo runs after him too?

Buffalo grunts as a grinning Goldworthy escorts him away.

Grade: B-

Midden’s Muse: Jasmine wasn’t very good here and with reason, got to teach her on the fly and hopefully she improves.

The Canadian Animals Vs. The New Wave

Edd_Stone.jpgFreddy_Huggins.jpgimage.jpgGuide.jpgScout.jpg

The Canadian Animals Vs. The New Wave

Clash of the new and old here as New Wave looked to gain momentum in hopes of Tag title shot down the line and their impressive win over Huggins and Stone did something to credit them for that.

Grade: C+

Midden’s Muse: Some lack of Psychology and physical nature of this led to a bit of a downer for fans in attendance, but I’m sure those issues will be solved in time. Still two of my best tag teams in a declining division.

Rocky_Golden.jpgAaron_Andrews.jpg

A video plays hyping up the World Title match at Malice in Wonderland between Golden and Andrews. The scenes of Rocky and Andrew holding the World Title is shown as the fans boo and cheer for each respective man.

Grade: B+

Midden’s Muse: Video packages get people hype, great package and hopefully the Match at Wonderland is great, needs to be.

Sammy_Bach.jpg

Backstage we see Sammy Bach seated on a container in the hallway. His mind seems a little distant, but as he sees the camera approach, he snaps his head up and speaks.

Bach: Vessey, me and you got a showdown coming up. Something special too, you have been picking on the people around here for years and throwing your weight around so to speak against the new and older guys here. I’m here to end that, I’m here to end your reign of terror and bring in a new era for not only me, but all TCW. When we meet again, expect me to beat you and not only that, but to out wrestle you.

Grade: B+

Midden’s Muse: Sammy is looking at a bright future with promos like these, great start to the year.

American_Buffalo.jpgimage.jpgElmo_Benson.jpg

American Buffalo vs. Benny Benson

A pretty one-sided match that saw the strength of Buffalo on display and not much else from Benson who looked outmatched.

Grade: C+

Midden's Muse: Benny carried Buffalo as expected, but didn’t expect it to be so one sided, Buffalo has work to do even at 42.

Jay_Chord.jpg

We see Jay Chord making his way to the locker room as he turns around and spots the cameraman, he makes a brisk walk toward the camera and grins.

Jay Chord: I took the International title from Mo and not only that I took the last bit of pride he has left and when he tries to get it back, he will fail again and again and guess what…..again. I’m that damn good at this wrestling stuff and after I put Mo back down where he belongs, I’ll be carrying that World Title

He pushes the cameraman backwards and walks off.

Grade: B

Midden’s Muse: This kid is the making of a star and I can get him there, but god is his attitude the same as his character, I love Rip to death, but his kid is a bonafide piece of work.

Troy_Tornado.jpgJay_Chord.jpgimage.jpgDanny_Fonzarelli.jpgMighty_Mo.jpg

Troy Tornado & Jay Chord Vs. Danny Fonzarelli & Mighty Mo

A standard tag match between four men who are on familiar terms with each other. Chord avoided being in contact with Mo as Troy did most of the dirty work and took most of the beating until he laid out Mo and Jay hit Troy for the tag and out of sight from the ref, made the pin with his feet on the second rope.

Grade: C+

Midden’s Muse: Another above average match on the show. These guys have to get it moving and soon, but I’m guessing the lack of exposure may be hurting them.

Bryan_Vessey.jpgimage.jpgDarryl_Devine.jpg

Bryan Vessey Vs. Darryl Devine

A surprising equal match between Vessey and Devine who decide to go out and compete with one of the best workers in the company and even came close to a upset form time to time, but a Super Vessey Plex put him away.

Grade: C+

Midden’s Muse: We need these guys to get over and fast!

Jasmine_Saunders.jpgAaron_Andrews.jpg

A interview segment between Jasmine Saunders and TCW World Heavyweight Champion, Aaron Andrews, starts.

Jasmine: Aaron at Malice in Wonderland you defend that belt against Rocky Golden? What part of this new attitude has you ready to defend that belt?

Aaron: New? This attitude was always here, but your dumb fans made me feel like making you happy was my job! It isn’t, maybe for people like Rocky, but for me my job is to keep this baby and at Malice in Wonderland I’ll keep it again.

Grade: B-

Midden’s Muse: Jasmine screwed us here too, got to go over stuff with her again, but great job from Andrews.

Aaron_Andrews.jpgimage.jpgJoshua_Taylor.jpg

Aaron Andrews vs. Joshua Taylor

A hard hitting and high-flying match from two of the best workers we offer. Taylor almost beat the World champ at certain points and may have even won the match at a point. After landing a crunching elbow to the jaw of Andrews, the referee went to check on the World Champ and Wolf Hawkins came to ringside.

Wolf_Hawkins.jpg

This drew the attention of Taylor who turned his back for enough time for Andrews to climb to the top rope after recovering and hit a Flying Body Press for the win.

Grade: B-

Midden’s Muse: Too much intensity for the fans here, got to change that.

Aaron_Andrews.jpgJoshua_Taylor.jpgRocky_Golden.jpgWolf_Hawkins.jpg

After the bell rings, Hawkins and Andrews team up to beat on Taylor until Rocky Golden comes out to a thunderous ovation with steel chair in hand, running off both attackers and sending the fans home.

Grade: B

Midden’s Muse: Good segment, announcing wasn’t great. Maybe a phone call needed?

Show Grade: B

Middens Ending Muse: I thought this was a good show, disappointing matches point to a in ring product too physically for our audience, so more tweaking is needed.
