The new era for the UFC is here. WIMG have sold the World's leading Mixed Martial Arts company to an unknown billionaire who goes by the name 'nazzac'.

The new owner stresses that there will be changes on the way for the organization, starting with the launch of the UFC's brand new own tv channel called "UFC TV". The new station will not only feature classic fights and original content, UFC TV will also broadcast at least one live event every month. This also means that the deal with Fox will be terminated immediately.

The new owner has also stated that the UFC market is 'over saturated' and promises to bring quality cards over quantity. There will also be many cuts to the roster as nazzac states there are too many fighters within the organization to manage effectively.

There will also be new rules applied to the octagon. Knees and kicks to a downed opponent are now legal.

"Our aim is to fulfill the potential this sport has. In my opinion, MMA is the best sport in the world and it should be treated as such. The new era of the UFC will aim to bring not only the organization, but the sport in general into the mainstream across the globe."

It was a big night in Perth, but one the Aussie fans may want to forget. Luke Rockhold defeated home favourite Robert Whittaker via submission in the fourth round to reclaim the Middleweight title. Whittaker got the better of the stand-up exchanges, but after sustaining a right hand injury, the challenger opted to bring the fight to the ground in the third. A dominant round from Rockhold set the tone for the fourth which ended with him making Whittaker tap with a rear naked choke.

Curtis Blaydes fell injured and was forced out of his fight with Mark Hunt in the co-main event. However, Josh Barnett was a shock replacement, and the Warmaster returned to action in dominant fashion. Barnett wasted no time getting the fight to the mat and from there it was no contest as he quickly submitted Hunt in the first round.

Hector Lombard and Lyoto Machida fought a close fight which went the distance. The two veterans went back and forth for three rounds with the Cuban getting the nod.

The upset of the night came at Bantamweight where Brian Caraway came from two rounds down on the scorecards to finish former champion Cody Garbrandt in the third round. Caraway caught Cody in a headlock as he shot for a takedown and from there he applied the D'arce for the submission victory.

Chris Weidman returned to action in his home state with an impressive win over Jacare Souza. Weidman rocked the Brazilian with a right hook in the second round before finishing the fight with some vicious ground and pound. Weidman called out Luke Rockhold for a rematch after the fight.
