Image Hosting?

Recommended Posts

I'm currently working on my first dynasty and I'm loving the ability to add images. In following other dynasties, I've found some use upload services and get images blocked at times for passing up bandwidth and such.

Would anyone benefit from a single-source to host TEW images? I work for a web hosting company and have a VPS I use for a couple personal sites as well as images for my own dynasty.

I could upload the picture directories for the mods people want to use, then they can just link to the images with HTML code.

Would anyone be interested in this? I'd like to get some feedback on this before I go ahead and put the time in to download/upload the content.

<p>Definitely. It's a very generous offer, so thank you for thinking of it!</p><p> </p><p>

If I may suggest, each user should have their own 'partition' that lets them retain file names. That, for me, was where photobucket excelled - every other hosting site (and I've tried every one I could find) either flat out renames the files, or appends a string of gibberish to the end. Neither is helpful!</p><p> </p><p>

As someone who writes their shows out in Word I've begrudgingly bowed to using Imgur and retaining a wholly separate document with every worker's photo link listed. It adds to the clunkiness of setting up a show, where with photobucket it was just a case of replacing name.jpg with Sting.jpg or whatever.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd also note that one GDS-specific account already disappeared over Christmas that I was using. Not helpful, to say the least! Hopefully your work won't mind the uptick in bandwidth usage - and hopefully you don't move to a new job in six months <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
