"You know something kid, you got a hell of a future in this business." Terry Funk told Samoa Joe, he had seen his pre-show match with Elix Skipper during Thunder and was very impressed with the results.

jiTTaOr.jpg

"Gosh, um...Thank you Mr. Funk." Joe replied, bashfully. "Please, call me Terry." The veteran smiled back.

It was then Terry decided to give the rookie a special privilege. "Tell you what, If you need any help: Feel free to stop by and i'll show you a few tricks." And just like that, Terry spread his legacy to another young gun. It was a happy sight to see, watching one of our youngest and brightest get the seal of approval from a legend like him.

Tonight, we were in the Lakefront Arena in the Bayou. It's a very nice place all told and it has a history of hosting some good old fashioned wrestling.

The fans got a bit of a surprise in the pre-show as a former WCW world champion made a special guest appearance defeating Norman Smiley in an all right matchup after 15:19. He may not be as strong or as agile as he once was, but the guy can still go when called upon. Also on display were La Parka (who had the unfortunate duty of working double time tonight) and Vampiro vs The Bluebloods who engaged in a fun contest between differing styles that ended with the Bluebloods victorious after Regal locked in a Regal Stretch onto Vampiro.

A5ELfjX.jpgKDqc87Z.jpgUXmQK8Z.jpghonQdFp.jpg6keMFde.jpg

The show opened with the four finalists and Vince Russo in the ring, Vince welcomed everyone to Nitro and told the audience that tonight, on the final Nitro before the Big Bang that they were going to have a final four forum with the remaining competitors in the WCW World Heavyweight Tournament. It was simple, they would be given two minutes to address their case as to why they believe they can win the world title. Once all four participants are finished, they'll be given the chance to call out any of their fellow stars or take a few audience questions.

Bret starts off the forum by explaining that he is the guy to beat because everyone knows that whenever he's in a clutch situation, he's the guy that ends up coming out on top. He's the guy that can get done in the ring when other stars choke and if he defeats Jeff Jarrett tonight, he will prove to all the doubters that he is what he is.

Jeff Jarrett says that the only thing he's never done in his entire career is win a world title. This tournament has given him the opportunity to finally complete his odyssey and make himself a household name in WCW and tonight, he was gonna prove all the haters wrong when he defeats the best there is and the best there was and becomes the best there ever will be.

Chris takes center stage and mentions how funny it is that Jeff thinks he's so above the others given how Vince had to bail him out last week. But that doesn't bother him, what matters to him now is the Big Bang, no matter who he makes tap out: He was going to win the world title and cement his legacy in WCW and show all the boys in the back that there was hope for them. Jeff looks on, rather furious that Chris would question the 'legitimacy' of his match against Ric Flair.

Scott calls Chris out for playing the sympathy card and for 'complaining' about how he never got an opportunity and tells him to shut up for once. The reason Scott thinks he can pull it off? He's got something no one else has: Fire. Having teamed with a brother for most of his career, he's been bidding his time, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Well this was it, his big chance. He didn't give a damn if he had to go through Bret Hart, Jeff Jarrett or Chris Benoit to do so, at the Big Bash, he would reign tall over everyone.

Vince then proceeds to the second part of the forum, and Bret becomes the first to answer a question from the fans: His question is this, "What do you think about Jeff Jarrett?" Bret smirks at the question and states that for someone who was born with a silver spoon up his mouth and a guitar up his ass, he's done pretty well for himself. Jeff yells at Bret and calls it an absolute insult, demanding him to take it back. Acting smarmy, Scott backs Bret up by saying that it was true.

About to throw a fit, Vince turns the mic over to Jeff to talk trash on someone and he calls Bret out for acting like a prissy, self-entitled bitch much to the shock of the audience. Every time something doesn't go his way, he throws a big fit over it and threatens to walk out. He walked out of Stanford when 'Mr. McMoolah' decided he wasn't worth his time anymore and he guarantees that he'll cry about he got 'screwed' in WCW and walk off. And honestly, he hopes he does because then he can go and make another guy's life a living hell. Maybe in Philly Paul's promotion or somewhere round that bend.

Chris is forced to get between the two before they start to go at, you can hear a few obscenities being thrown as Bret and Jeff are heated. Meanwhile, Scott's just laughing away at everything that's going. He takes Chris's turn and proceeds to add fuel to the fire by talking smack about everyone, starting with Jeff by mentioning how cute it is that he talks about Bret being a little bitch when Jeffie's been an alpha-bitch his entire life. He's seen how teen girls can act, especially when their on the top of the food chain and when Jeff doesn't get what he wants, he cries about it to everyone he knows. He gives out a suggestion, get a diary to write about her- He meant his sorrows and don't be a boyfriend-less hypocrite.

Bret isn't off the hook either as Scott notices that he left 'the other place' for a fresh start. But given his reputation for being a 'clutch performer', he hasn't really done much at all and accuses him of hyping up his abilities. Then again, he's not surprised: He's been doing this sort of crap since the 80s, why would he be any different now? Bret shouts out a few profanities at Scott for that as things are looking to break down. And then Scott comes to Benoit, and admits that he hates to get all personal; but he would like to make a statement regarding what happens if Chris loses to him tonight. If he does lose and get terminated, it wouldn't be the end of the world for him. Because then he and all his friends could active their backup plan and head off to 'the other promotion' like you'd been telling everyone 'behind the scenes' until a couple weeks ago.

Enraged, Chris comes up to Scott's face and yells at him to shut his mouth. With tensions on the brink of setting off, it is Chris who likes the fuse when he slaps the living daylights out of Scott. He gets a wild look in his eyes and throws his stand out of the ring and into the concrete, charging at Chris and delivering a vicious suplex on him. Bret and Jeff then start to go at it as Vince screeches for them all to break it up, but it's too late as the four continue to brawl until referees and a few road agents come out to help break things up. As they do, Vince looks up the ramp in sheer fury, incensed that his final four forum had imploded into a giant mess.

Rating: 68 (C+)

DDP's Notes: A fantastic segment that showcased almost everyone at their best. Bret and Jeff did a really good job improvising and hyping up the tournament as it stood, but the main players in this one were Scott and Vince who were on the ball for the entirety of this segment. Scott Steiner especially digged into Chris for threatening to jump to WWF with some of his friends.

Speaking of Chris, he was unfortunately the only smudge on what was otherwise a well-done segment as he was completely exposed against four very strong talkers. Perhaps maybe this is why we've never given Chris the world title? Who knows.

kJ71UwF.jpg and NFEfsBF.jpg vs nBm6T8T.jpg and 4d7jW8o.jpg

In what was billed as their toughest challenge yet, Grizzled and Chiseled took on the high flying stylings of La Parka and Kaz Hayashi, the cruiserweight got off to a good start in the early going trying to ground Shane by working on the legs, but once Lex got involved there was no stopping the veteran team as he was able to take care of La Parka and Kaz with relative ease. By 6:17, Lex had finished playing with them and scored a win for them with a Military Press Slam.

Rating: 55 (C-)

DDP's Notes: Another good showing for Lex despite the chemistry issues, it hasn't quite gone the way I thought it would go; but i've been satisfied so far with how the two have panned out as a tag team. They're likely not ready for the belts yet, but given time; they will-

You mean to tell me he got drugged up AGAIN?

kJ71UwF.jpgNFEfsBF.jpg4BmNcXo.jpgLg5CfQm.jpg

Grizzled and Chiseled celebrate an impressive victory as they head way into their fatal four way against Harlem Heat, Dean Malenko and Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero and Ric Flair. The two had their hands raised in victory and looked ready to head out when they saw their rivals come up from the entrance way. Shane and Lex started to grab a lip and dared Harlem Heat to come down to the ring so they could settle this, Booker and Stevie jawed back at them as they did. The two teams stared each other down, neither willing to back away. Shane gave Booker a vicious slap to start the festivities off and in return was met with a face rearranging punch. From there on, Harlem Heat had Grizzled and Chiseled in a heap of trouble as they beat them down until Shane and Lex decided to flee the situation. Booker and Stevie looked out, shouting them down, telling them that they'll be seeing them at the Big Bang.

Rating: 59 (C-)

DDP's Notes: I'm gonna have a lot of fun with Lex Luger tonight...a whole lotta fun.

ZhgUebb.jpg

Dean Malenko was then interviewed by Mike Tenay via the titantron as we got his response to Bret Hart's challenge last week on Thunder. Dean mentions how he took Bret to the limit last time they faced off, and he thanks Bret for giving him credit. He tells Mike that he would be happy to meet Bret again at any time and any place, but reminds him that the next time they face: It will be him with his shoulders raised.

Rating: 36 (D-)

DDP's Notes: I've mentioned it before, but I'll mention it again. Dean is NOT a promo guy, and he proved that here tonight. He didn't really sell the crowd on a potential rematch and that hurt things a little bit, he might be better off with a manager: But the question is, who do I have be his manager?

egkDmrP.jpg

Buff Bagwell comes out for his match against Jim Duggan and we see he has a mic in his hand, it seems that the crowd has forgotten who he is. So he'll remind them. He's Buff Bagwell, he's buff, he's got the stuff and girls just can't get enough. But he has bad news for those girls, the auction has closed. He's been away the last few weeks scouring the nation, looking for someone to fill his buff-sized heart and baby, he's found it. He introduces the WCW crowd to the official Buff girl!

sCm5IQh.jpg

A stunning blonde haired girl comes out and takes Buff's hand, kissing it. Buff gives an arrogant smirk and reveals the name of his new girlfriend: Trish Stratus. She poses and gets a few catcalls from the 'special' teenagers who are already impressed by Trish's looks. Buff warns them to not do anything funny with his buff and tuff girl or otherwise they're gonna get buffed up. He tells her to follow him down the ring and she acquiesces, holding his hand as they do.

Rating: 34 (E+)

DDP's Notes: Buff had it rough without a script to guide him. I should really consider creating a border line between those who can cut unscripted promos and those who cannot. I'll think about it though.

Trish Stratus also made her first impression with the crowd and debuted her gimmick of being sexy. No, really. That's her gimmick. She's sexy. The crowd seemed to like it as it was above average. Unfortunately, it did end up cooling the crowd a bit.

egkDmrP.jpg

vs NKG3mHF.jpg

Unimpressed by Buff's new girlfriend, Jim took it upon himself to overwhelm Buff in the early going with an array of power moves. Buff had to resort to heading out of the ring a few times to take a breather, one time during the match; he had to cool himself off next to Trish. Getting fed up with the constant breaks, Jim went down and almost knocked Buff down. He was stopped when he saw Trish Stratus glaring at him and backed away slowly. This confrontation proved to be his downfall as when Jim looked ready to take Buff's lights out, Trish came in distracting the ref: Jim tried to argue with Trish, but was treated with a long kiss to the lips. Once distracted, it gave Buff the opening he needed to hit the Yellow Jacket Suplex after 8:03.

Rating: 54 (C-)

DDP's Notes: Buff did not have his best stuff at all, and that hurt the match a little bit. That being said, Trish was absolutely smoking ringside and did a great job playing the role of as the girlfriend who would help his man no matter what the cost.

egkDmrP.jpgsCm5IQh.jpg

With the two getting their first win under their belts: Buff proceeded to join his new girl by his side and exchanged in a brief kiss. Buff then proceeded to gyrate to the audience as his theme played, taunting them because they would never have a woman as hot as Trish. He then turned the dancing over to Trish, getting out of the way and letting her do her thing. She ended up tantalizing the crowd with her body serving as her instrument, her curves making all the boys wet in their pants and her teasing, flirtatious face telling them that they just couldn't have her.

When she finished, Buff clapped and told the audience to give her a round of applause as he raises her hand and the two engage in another kiss.

WZZNlqe.jpgZL6QVlK.jpg

We then cut to what seems like the home of Tony Truths and Ron Killings, a run-down warehouse filled with drugs, guns, knives, and other weapons that most gangs tend to use. Tony tells the audience that this is just a fraction of the things they have to deal with at the streets. From bloodshed, to overdoses, poverty and otherwise. But Ron says they made their bed a long time ago and now? They're thriving. They've shown WCW how they do things back in their street, But Tony says now it's time for us to show you how they roll in their turf. He's Tony, he's Ron. They come from the streets. Truth Streetz.

And they'll see you at the Big Bang.

Rating: 40 (D-)

DDP's Notes: The last vignette for Tony and Ron before their debut at the Big Bang, and it was easily their best yet. Tony and Ron were given every right to improvise (like just about everyone else) and they made it work, creating a picture of what the hood was like. I can't wait to see these two on WCW broadcasting for the first time and hopefully all goes well for them.

Eddie is seen walking to his locker room when he hears some giggling inside. He decides to knock the door and see what's going on, a voice hollers for his name. Knowing that the voice's name is Ric's, Eddie tells him that it's just him and that he's here to talk to him. Ric asks who 'me' is? Irritated, Eddie tells him that he needs to tell him something and asks him to open the door. Ric scolds him jokingly, telling him he doesn't have to be so selfish. He decides that he should just open the door for himself, when he does, he notices a sight he cannot believe.

xoY5YeH.jpgTRGrXAv.jpgsd6r1Cq.jpgp7YuZki.jpg

Ric Flair is seen relaxing on a chair with Leia Meow, Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler massaging his arms and legs. He sees the shocked Guerrero and bids him hello. Confused, Eddie wants to know what is going on. Ric tells Eddie that he's just winding down, relaxing himself for the Big Bang. As it turns out, that's what Eddie wanted to talk to him about. Ric celebrates a little, high-fiving Leia in guessing right. He then tells Eddie to join him by his side, like with their last encounter; he's a little reluctant at first. Even with the pleading and begging of the other three, Stacy even volunteers to get him a chair. He's still unsure. Torrie then tempts him by promising to show him a bit of 'Latino Heat' herself...

And that convinces him to join in, thinking that it probably couldn't hurt. Everyone is happen as Stacy goes to work on Eddie's arms and Torrie works on both Eddie and Ric's legs.

Rating: 66 (C+)

DDP's Notes: I knew adding Ric into the feud would help out in the long run, he serves a great suave, devil may care contrast to Eddie's more reclusive, focused personality. And in turn, that makes them better people. (Helped that Eddie did well being improvised) I'm personally not allowed to spoil anything, but let's just say it's going to pay off for both men later on.

yAypFui.jpg

The camera stays on them when Tony says that there's a scene coming from somewhere in the backstage area, it seems that Terry Funk being beaten down by...

yAypFui.jpg

VADER?!

The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion had not been see in WCW for over five years! And here he was beating the daylights out of the Funkster! Tony demands to know why he has come back, but he gets no answer as Terry tries in vain to fight back. Eventually, he is picked up by Vader and ends up making him eat concrete with a sick running powerbomb. Referees and personnel have to hold him back as someone calls for medical reinforcements to take him to a hospital.

Rating: 45 (D)

DDP's Notes: A blast from WCW's past as Vader makes a one night return. We heard he was out there in NO and asked if he could help us out with one of our storylines, he agreed and off we went. Vader's one of the best big men in the business and it's a shame his WWF run didn't pan out the way we thought it would, though if you ask me: It was a bit heartbreaking to see what politics backstage can do to someone's career.

See what I did there?

KDqc87Z.jpg vs UXmQK8Z.jpg

Semi-final action as Bret and Jeff squared off, both still sore from the words spoken to them at the final four forum and they got their frustrations out by slugging each other with some big blows. This was a physical encounter that had big ramifications, the winner would be the first finalist to fight for the world title and the loser would be going after the United States title.

A5ELfjX.jpg

In the middle of the match, with Bret firmly in control, Vince decided to come out and check on how things went. Dumbfounded, Bret asked Vince what he was doing. But all Vince could do was smile and nod at what would going on. This was enough for Jeff to attempt a comeback, but even so: Bret would not go out without giving it a good fight and he proceeded to lock Jeff into the sharpshooter...

And the referee rang the bell. What had happened? Was the screw job happening all over again? Had Jeff tapped out already? Everyone was baffled at the outcome. Everyone that was, except for Vince Russo. All he could do was keep his smug smile as he watched the actions play out in the ring, Bret then demanded an explanation from the ref as to why the bell had rung. As it turned out, there was a secret rule put in place by Vince Russo that rendered Bret Hart incapable of using the sharpshooter in this match. In other words: Bret Hart was disqualified at 16:17.

Rating: 68 (C+)

DDP's Notes: Ah BS finishes. The best way to get a cowardly heel over without having to sacrifice a vastly more over superstar. This was basically a way for Jeff to get into the final and yet keep Bret looking strong so he doesn't block the finish from happening, As for the match itself. I feel that had it not had those regulations: Chances were it would've easily been match of the night. Bret and Jeff had a hell of a showing tonight and you can expect these two to fight again very soon.

A5ELfjX.jpgUXmQK8Z.jpg

As Jeff realizes he's going to the final, he begins to celebrate. Vince comes down the ramp and applauds him for a job well done and looks set to head to the ring.

KDqc87Z.jpg

NOT SO FAST! An incensed Bret comes after Jeff looking to lay it onto him, but before he can get his hands on him; Jeff flees the ring and heads for the backstage. All Vince can do is shrug and grin at Bret, saying there is nothing more he can do. Bret begins to shout out the profanities at Vince, telling him that he screwed him and that he's coming to get him.

Rating: 63 ©

6keMFde.jpgyAypFui.jpg

In Scott Steiner's locker room, we see Scott watching the action from the ring when he senses someone coming in. He gets up and has a big smile on his face, thanking him for coming over and getting business taking care of. The camera turns to see Vader, he tells Scott that he did what he had to do and asks if his nose is gonna be alright. Scott assures him that his nose will be fine, but as for Terry? Well, let's just say he's going to be in the hospital for a while. Vader then wishes him luck against Chris Benoit, but Scott doesn't need luck. He has it in the bag.

Rating: 62 ©

DDP's Notes: And that ends Vader's volunteerment in WCW for today, we wish him the best in his future endeavors and hope to have him back whenever possible.

honQdFp.jpg vs 6keMFde.jpg

Hoping to earn the other spot in the Big Bang world title match, both Chris and Scott brought their a game and fought a grueling war with heart and determination on Chris's side and brute force on Scott's. Both men worked on trying to out the strongest parts of their game, Scott was able to disrupt Chris's flying game by going after the legs early and Chris put a temporary hold on Scott's ragdolling by going after the arms. But they also shined on crucial parts of the match. The first time Chris got Scott for the Crossface, Scott refused to tap out. He even gave Chris the middle finger! He then got up, powered out of the Crossface and transitioned into a beautiful Steiner Screwdriver! It didn't get him the fall, but it was a beautiful sight to see. In the end though, Chris managed to get the big guy off his feet again with some good look german suplexes and then beautifully transitioning into the Crossface...

And getting him to tap out at 18:38.

Rating: 79 (B)

DDP's Notes: MOTN by a mile. And that's with Scott's nose holding him back! Both men were told to go all out tonight, and they delivered. This was a great match and a match we may very well see again sometime down the road.

As Chris celebrates in the ring, we look to sign off for-

KDqc87Z.jpgA5ELfjX.jpg

WAIT JUST A MOMENT! It seemed that Bret was on the warpath, looking for Vince Russo. Inside his office, Vince was seen watching the show as it was when all of a sudden the door slammed open catching him by surprise. And then he saw Bret's angry face as he demanded an explanation for why Vince screwed him out of the world title. Vince 'sincerely' defends himself, saying that he had no intentions of screwing Bret out of anything and that all he was trying to do was what was best for business. In rage, Bret asks if best for business means bribing the ref so the 'golden goose who can't draw a dime' can sneak away. All of a sudden, Vince drops the fake sincerity gimmick and tells Bret to never question his decisions again and forces him out of his office. Bret refuses to leave and begins to get in his face. Vince gives Bret a threat afterwards, either Bret leaves or Vince will be forced to replace him. Finally, Bret subsides; but not before slapping Vince smack dab at the jaw.

Rating: 72 (B-)

DDP's Notes: Vince Russo has been killing it in the early goings of his run as commissioner, every promo he cuts has these sort of weasely nature that makes you hope that one day someone gives him his just deserts. Now, if you thought this was the beginning of a Bret Hart heel turn. You'd be wrong. And we'll show you right about...now.

KDqc87Z.jpg

Bret storms out, pissed that his world title opportunities have been dashed. He then notices someone looking at him and asks him what he was.

ZhgUebb.jpg

It's Dean Malenko, and it seems he wants to try and calm the Hitman down, telling him not to worry about world title match so much. Bret tells him that he was screwed over by Vince and Jeff, Dean understands, but calmly says that there's nothing he can do to change the outcome. Bret calls him out, saying he doesn't know what it's like getting screwed over and shoves him aside, refusing to talk to him anymore and walking away. Dean then marches up to him and questions whether he shoved him, Bret yells at him to get out of his face and shoves him again. Dean then returns the favor and we got a brawl going on here to end the show as wrestlers have to break the two up to no avail.

Rating: 68 (C+)

Final Rating: 72 (B-)

DDP's Thoughts: This was a story driven episode and it worked in spades. We got more depth on the alliance between Eddie and Ric, Jeff continues to worm his way into the main event, Scott manages to get revenge on his enemy for the nose and we now have our Big Bang main event.

Highlights: A great first segment, Harlem Heat confronting Grizzled and Chiseled, Trish Stratus, Jeff Jarrett, Vince Russo, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit vs Scott Steiner, Vader's return.

Lowlights: Bad jobs on the mic by Chris and Dean, Lex Luger wasted...again, an off his game Buff Bagwell.

I didn't want to have to do this song and dance again, and from the look of Lex's scowl. Neither did he.</p><p> </p><p> "Let's cut to the chase." I told Lex, in a blunt voice. "Just because you got yourself a friend backstage doesn't mean you're safe from my wrath." Lex nodded. He had screwed up for the second time now, and he was about to be told off because of it.</p><p> </p><p> "You keep getting wasted on drugs and it's frustrating the boys backstage. That's a problem because it not only puts your life in danger, it puts the life of others in danger." I told him. "And don't give me that small talk about you being a former world champion, i'm a former world champ myself and I don't go around acting like I own the place!" The tension between the two of us was rapt, so much so; you could cut a knife between us. "Now then," I continued. "This is the second time you've done this to us. One more and you're off to rehab. It pains me to have to drill it into you again Lex, because I do feel like you can be a good asset to the company; but when you do these things, it makes you, me and the entire company look bad."</p><p> </p><p> "I understand." Lex said, this time he seemed serious. The two of us stayed silent for a little while. A very uncomfortable silence at that, it seemed that Lex had something to say, but wasn't sure how to say it. After some time had passed, I started to speak up again; or at least I was about to. That was when this happened.</p><p> </p><p> "Can I just tell you something?" I stopped and decided to let Lex have the floor. "Look," He sighed. "I know i've been kind of hard on you recently, but I just wanted to tell you...that i'm glad you're looking out for me." Now this surprised me. Lex had been acting up quite a lot these last few weeks, all of a sudden it looked like he was doing a complete 180. "I've been through a lot of hell in my life. Not just here, but in WWF as well. And it's not often i've had someone watch out for me. I'll get clean one of these days. And when I do, I'll have you to thank." I was amazed at how he was taking it, to think; this was the same guy that was giving me headaches for the last two weeks.</p><p> </p><p> I smiled back at him, "I'll take care of you, as long as you take care of yourself." I told him. "I will," Lex promised and we shook on it. As he left my office, all I could do was smile at myself. Maybe this was a sign that me and Lex would find common ground. Maybe Lex wasn't such a bad person under the drugs. Maybe there really was hope for Lex Luger, the person.</p><p> </p><p> Rating for Nitro: 4.87, better than last time.</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <strong>Final Thunder Before The Big Bang</strong></p><p> </p><p> Dustin Rhodes vs Steve Armstrong</p><p> Comment:</p><p> </p><p> Big Vito vs Juventud Guerrera</p><p> Comment:</p><p> </p><p> Berlyn vs Crowbar</p><p> Comment:</p><p> </p><p> Harlem Heat vs PG-13</p><p> Comment:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Television Title Preview</strong>: DDP and Terry Funk vs Meng and Bam Bam Bigelow</p><p> Comment:</p><p> </p><p> BONUS: One of the members of the TV title tag match is not going to make it, which one is it?:</p><p> </p><p> Comments On The Last Two Shows/Comments On The Diary As A Whole:</p>

<p>"You mean to tell me that you had two guys graduate the WCW Power Plant and you didn't bother signing them?" That was the first question I asked Vince when we were talking about guys to sign onto NXT. I had brought up a couple of names to his attention and I wanted to see what Vince liked.</p><p> </p><p> First there was a kid named Bobby Roode, the guy looked like a stud in the making and at such a young age already knew how to work a match and cut promos. He was a natural fit for the still fresh developmental company.</p><p> </p><p> Then we had James Storm, a cowboy type wrestler with undertones to Steve Austin. Decent wrestler, but needed a little work on the mic. Chris Harris was already working for NXT to begin with on a PPA deal. But I had seen potential in him and he already had some decent mic skills. Perhaps I could do something with him James? I don't know.</p><p> </p><p> But the big ones were Mark Jindrak and Shawn Stasiak. Both looked fantastic and they had some untapped potential in spite of their look, overall: They had to be in. That was when Vince told me that they were already in the Power Plant but got dropped. Given his expression, it seemed like a decision he wasn't too pleased with making. "Don't know what to tell you man." He said. "Mark hadn't improved enough to impress us and Shawn? Well Shawn got away and moved to McMahon's shack. What could we do?"</p><p> </p><p> "Simple," I said. "I want you to call them and tell them that i'm willing to give them a chance and see how they do on NXT." And I gave Vince my cellphone. "Got it Da- I mean, Mr. D" Vince stuttered a bit when he said that, apparently still getting used to no longer being the head booker of the company.</p><p> </p><p> Tonight, we would be staying in the Lakefront Arena and be delivering our closing argument for why everyone should tune it for The Big Bang. The excitement was rapt, and there was a feeling that they needed to absolutely nail this night. Myself include, I was booked for a match!</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45104" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>On tonight's pre-show Jim Duggan battled against Disco Inferno in the match between two currently irrelevant stars. By the end of it, Jim proved that Disco was deader than...well, disco itself with his Running Clothesline Tackle at 13:27.<p> </p><p> We also had the soon to be debuting Truth Streetz going up again Lane & Lodi with the latter playing the babyface role for this match only. Despite this, Truth Streetz still prevailed in 14:03 with a Pearl River Plunge from Tony. Tony himself shone as the best wrestler in that match. On a different note, I decided Lane shouldn't heel up his gay antics any longer; felt like it was giving LGBTQ people like him a bad name and I wanted to fix that. The crowd was supportive of the idea and it got a Very Good rating. In bad news, Lodi was wasted on drugs the entire time.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45104" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="XnX1Akf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XnX1Akf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="FcdIbkn.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/FcdIbkn.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> In a change form the usual formula, we started the evening with a squash match from Dustin Rhodes as he took on Steve Armstrong. This match was basically designed to remind the audience that Dustin still worked here. Seemed to do the trick and at 5:17, Dustin took Steve out with the Bulldog.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#A0522D;">45 (D)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: I realized Dustin might've been getting antsy about not having a match for Big Bang yet, and I figured i'd try and get him on the card somehow.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="XnX1Akf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XnX1Akf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Dustin stays in the ring, calling for a microphone. He gets that wish and begins to talk under his surly demeanor, it's bad enough that he hasn't been around recently, but to leave him out of the Big Bang is an absolute crime. Need he remind you who his father was? And he's sure he's going to get the usual response, It's a new era Dustin! And that's great, he's not against it, but he'd like to notice a bit of respect on his part. He's decided that if WCW management isn't going to give him a match, he's going to make one himself and challenges any WCW star from the back to face him at the Big Bang.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#FF8C00;">54 (C-)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: Dustin cut a solid promo tonight, and there's not much else to say about it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="cUAKwqX.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cUAKwqX.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> We head backstage where our interview correspondent 'Mean' Gene Okerlund talked to Berlyn about his 'tune-up' match against Crowbar, finding it surprising that he would want to take on the guy he teamed with last week. Berlyn says it's simple, the two came together and did what was needed to do. However, it did not change the fact the Crowbar could not be trusted. He knows his game well, he'll latch onto someone and then he'll betray them. But Berlyn is smarter than the common American, and he'll prove it tonight.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#A0522D;">44 (D)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: In an attempt to help improve on his promo aspects, I had him cut a brief promo against Crowbar. It wasn't the best promo ever, but given where he is on the card i'd say he did good.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="VN2offU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VN2offU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="ZmWC6i1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ZmWC6i1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Juventud came to do one thing today, and that was to get some final momentum in before the Big Bang. He did so by going up against Big Vito in what was a fast-paced, hard hitting encounter. Juventud overwhelmed his Italian foe with his usual death-defying, lucha inspired moves. Big Vito tried to pull the match to his advantage by relying on his strength and pulling Juventud away from the turnbuckles, but in the end; Vito became another victim of the Juvi Driver with 11:43.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#A0522D;">44 (D)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: A sloppy match from the two parties, but this was made for Juvi to get something to do. He's also getting something to do at the Big Bang, what it is; we'll just have to wait and see.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="OVwh7IO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OVwh7IO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="FjnEDo8" data-src="https://imgur.com/FjnEDo8" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="xoY5YeH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xoY5YeH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> A video plays talking about the recent feud between Scott Hall vs. Eddie Guerrero. DDP said that he was in the hospital, still banged up from the attack on Vader. But it didn't matter to him, because even if he was against twenty people, he was gonna walk out of Big Bang the new WCW Television Champion. Meng and Bam Bam glare at DDP for his talk, but they decide not to roughen him up and leave DDP on his own again.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#F4A460;">65 ©</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: If it sounds like I don't have much to say, I apologize: There hasn't been much to talk about tonight. But I will say this was a good promo from the three of us to set up the now handicap match between me and two other stars.</p><p> </p><p> Then, for some reason, the screen goes blurry and turns to static. It seemed something had gone terribly wrong in production. Had the NWO returned from the dead? Was there a last minute production blip that went unedited? Was this part of a new segment?</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="enPq0Ud.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/enPq0Ud.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> We then get our answer as in a dark and dreary background, we get the look of an almost satantic looking man wearing a red suit. He introduces himself as James Mitchell, father of the unholy world. He noticed that one of WCW's brightest had gone 'missing' as of late. As if he left 'without a trace'. But never fear, because he has found him. Who was this 'him'? They would find out soon.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#FF0000;">31 (E+)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: James Mitchell is good with cutting dark and scary promos (A reason his occult character got an above average), he hyped up the return of 'him' very well and i'm hoping the pay-off is worth the wait. That said, the crowd didn't seem all that into it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="cUAKwqX.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cUAKwqX.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="MQLRA5A.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MQLRA5A.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Looking for a chance to build up some final momentum before The Big Bang, Berlyn and Crowbar worked a rather bizarre match. Bizarre in that Crowbar didn't seem to want to fight Berlyn and thought that they were still allies, one slap in the face from Berlyn and some convincing from Daffney though and there was no stopping Crowbar for laying him down and making Berlyn beg for mercy. Somehow, Berlyn managed to capitalize when Crowbar starting getting too aggressive and dodged from a running clothesline from the turnbuckle and caught Crowbar by surprise with Auf Weidensehen in 15:20.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#A0522D;">46 (D)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: I know it looks like i'm putting Crowbar on the wayside, but that isn't the case. Crowbar still has a place in this crusierweight feud, but he'll be taking a more...how do I put this...a much hardcore approach to things.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="JgEMD5V.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/JgEMD5V.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="rNIU2O5.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rNIU2O5.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> And now, the moment of truth: At least for one Chavo Guerrero Jr. as he and Tylene Buck are seen entering a local resteraunt somewhere in New Orleans. Chavo comments on how great Tylene looks and so far things seem to be going well. Chavo offers to help seat her and...oh god, he's trying desperately not to zone out at her curves but he keeps getting distracted by them...and...and then she asks him what he would like to have, then...and then...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HE SAYS BREAST, AND THEN HE BACKPEDALS AND SAYS CHICKEN BREAST!</p><p> </p><p> Kimberly Page: And we lost him. (Sigh) I knew this angle would be a bad idea. Loving those sex puns the way he does. Anyways; Chavo and Tylene decide just the order the house special. It's an awkward few moments as Chavo and Tylene look at each other, both wondering who should break the ice. Eventually Chavo decides to try and do it asking about the weather: No response. He tries again, mentioning his hardcore title match against Billy, Kanyon and Scott. Still nothing. He decides not to try again, sensing that Tylene's mind is on something else...and then she tells him that she knows why he likes him. Chavo looks at Tylene, confused. She says that Chavo has tried over the years to prove that he is on the same level as his uncle Eddie, but has failed in every chance he's gotten. Then you have a good showing against a loved star in a world title tournament, and all of a sudden he's got the biggest opportunity of his life and he's afraid that he's going to squander it like he did with the others. So feeling sorry for him, she comes in and tries to help calm Chavo's nerves and show him how to succeed in life. She asks Chavo if she's right. Chavo stutters at first, sweating hard, trying desperately to give an answer. He taps out and admits that it's probably the case. All is silent again.</p><p> </p><p> And then, as sudden the date was; Tylene begins to smile. She finds it sweet of him to trust her with helping him out and kisses him on the lips. She promises that she'll help Chavo win the hardcore title at the Big Bang, but at this point; it's all moot for Chavo as he's passed out, a smile on his face, in complete ecstasy.</p><p> </p><p> Rating:<span style="color:#A0522D;"> 37 (D-)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: Woo! Do they not understand good humor when they see it? Chicken breast. Grizzled and Chiseled saying that they get no respect from people backstage and in the audience, with Harlem Heat saying that they don't deserve it for their poor attitude. The two have been at it since, and they're schedule to go at it in a fatal four way for the tag titles.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#FF8C00;">57 (C-)</span></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="4BmNcXo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/4BmNcXo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Lg5CfQm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Lg5CfQm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="w64b4yW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/w64b4yW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="z4IcSi1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/z4IcSi1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Following up on that, Harlem Heat got their own tune-up match against PG-13. Not much to say about this one as Harlem Heat gave a empathetic closing statement on who people should see as the favorite of the tag match at the Big Bang with Booker T putting J.C. out of his misery in 5:23 with a beautiful missile dropkick.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#A0522D;">50 (D+)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: Harlem Heat work wonderfully together, every time they come out it looks like they're legitimately brothers. There's a reason they're the most popular tag team WCW has ever come up. Booker T especially looked good in this one and he showed signs of what he could do if we ever decided to pull the trigger on a Booker T main event run.</p><p> </p><p> Wolfie D and J.C Ice were also completely wasted on drugs tonight. Not like I knew they existed in the first place.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="KDqc87Z.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KDqc87Z.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="ZhgUebb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ZhgUebb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> We then look into the recent feud between Bret Hart vs. Dean Malenko starting with their technical encounter in the quarterfinals of the tournament and then Bret laying down the call for a rematch and Dean accepting. The feud recently taking a more aggressive turn when Bret and Dean got into a major brawl after Bret had gotten done screaming at Vince.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#FFFF00;">66 (C+)</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="KDqc87Z.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KDqc87Z.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Afterwards, we see Bret Hart in the back; looking quite serious. He says that he used to respect Dean, never thought he'd ever be a main event guy, but he was always someone you could trust to have a damn good matchup. But during Nitro, he found out the true Dean Malenko. Trying to kick the son of a bitch when he's down on his knees the way he did, it made Dean look like a no good, rotten, dirty, raving little punk. And Bret's going to expose him for the punk he is the next time they face off.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#00FF00;">88 (B+)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: DAMN. Bret absolutely walloped on Dean with this promo, he had the crowd wondering whether or not he was shooting on him. He wasn't, but it felt like he was. Bret's been on fire as of late with these promos, and it makes me wonder whether if facing Dean is bringing out the best of him.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="LtO3m5l.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LtO3m5l.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="bTeB5So.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bTeB5So.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Al9D2SW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Al9D2SW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The underlying question for this match was this. Could Diamond Dallas Page find a way to beat two big heavyweights? It didn't look like it at first, with Meng and Bam Bam making it rough for the people's wrestler to get much of anything going. But when DDP managed to get Meng out of the ring and into the ring post, things started becoming more even as Bam Bam and DDP fought through heaven and hell to gain momentum on the road to Big Bang, but pretty soon: Meng came back and made things harder for DDP again. But a stroke of luck would come as Bam Bam missed an avalanche when DDP dodged out of the way and rolled up Bam Bam for a cradle and got a surprise win when Meng was found to be too late at 15:29.</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#FFFF00;">70 (C+)</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: Woo! That was a good match we had out there, MOTN for sure. I ended up doing the best out of the other two this time around, though Meng was able to hold his own with me. Bam Bam, as solid as he was was not quite on that same level.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="UXmQK8Z.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UXmQK8Z.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> At last, it was time for our main event as Jeff Jarrett sauntered down the ring and declared that this week would be the week that he would officially make history in WCW as he would officially become WCW World Heavyweight champion. And he didn't have to cry, or whine, or complain about anything to do it. He did it all by himself, by besting Meng in a slugger's battle, defeating the nature boy at his own game and just this Nitro shocking the world against the man who was 'destined to win the entire thing' Bret Hart. And now, this sunday: He will prove to the world that he is the chosen one to lead WCW out of the darkness and into the light.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="honQdFp.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/honQdFp.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Chris Benoit then comes out, he mentions how funny it is that Jeff mention it seeing that the only match he competed without any help was against Meng. He had to resort to Vince restarting the match against Ric Flair and he got lucky when Vince bribed the ref to make a rule changing no one knew was planned. He's expecting Jeff to pull the same thing again in their match so he decides to make a deal with him, they'll have the match. But instead of it being a normal match, they'll be having a no disqualification match.</p><p> </p><p> Jeff laughs Chris off, calling him delusional. If he thinks his skull likes the taste of Jeff's guitar, he'll gladly accept the offer. He also reminds Chris that he made a deal with Vince, a deal that could very well determine his place in WCW. Chris admits that he's right, if he loses to Jeff: He's gone from WCW. But if this ends up being his last match, then damn it; he's going out swinging. The two stare each other in the eyes, neither man willing to back down. Who would pull through, who would become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion?</p><p> </p><p> Rating: <span style="color:#F4A460;">65 ©</span></p><p> </p><p> DDP's Notes: Some final buildup for the tournament's big finale. It's been a fun tournament and in a few days, we'll be ready to see the new era become official. All I can say is, let the fireworks begin.</p><p> </p><p> Final Rating: <span style="color:#FFFF00;">71 (C+)</span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFF00;"> </span></p><p> DDP's Thoughts: We could not keep the hot streak going, but for what it was: It was still a very good show that managed to hype the show well in it's homestretch moment. Who will be the guys on top when the Big Bang arrives? We'll just have to wait and see.</p><p> </p><p> Highlights: Video packages, Bret's fantastic promo, Me vs Meng and Bam Bam, Chris and Jeff Promo.</p><p> </p><p> Lowlights: PG-13, Lodi, Berlyn vs Crowbar, Juventud vs Big Vito, Disappointing James Mitchell Promo Rating.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Predictions Board:</strong></p><p> DHK1989: 25/29 = 25 Points</p><p> to4sty: 23/29 = 23 Points</p><p> Blodyke: 23/29 = 23 Points</p><p> Smasher1311: 22/29 = 22 Points</p><p> RyanR93WKU: 21/29 = 21 Points</p><p> SuperAlbino: 20/29 = 20 Points</p><p> JamesTheAnimator: 16/29 = 16 Points</p><p> DGenerationMC: 15/29 = 15 Points</p><p> Theheel: 15/29 = 15 Points</p><p> Horsemen4Lyfe: 11/29 = 11 Points</p><p> Theheel: 15/29 = 15 Points</p><p> Colonel Phantom: 7/29 = 7 Points</p><p> KnowYourEnemy: 5/29 = 5 Points</p><p> DavidCorperial: 4/29 = 4 Points (Welcome Aboard!)</p><p> Texasrangers13: 4/29 = 4 Points</p><p> Destiny: 4/29 = 4 Points</p><p> Bonnie: 2/29 = 2 Points</p><p> </p><p> Not as many predictions as there have been in previous shows, but it does leave us neck and neck as The Big Bang approaches.</p><p> </p><p> Be prepared, for during the Big Bang: You could win up to 16 points. Dean joked, giving Bret a nice pat on the back. "Hey, just following orders from the boss." He smirked. It was a nice moment from two guys who respected each other in real life. "Hey, next time you want to go hard on someone; i'll be happy to volunteer!" Crowbar (Devon Storm) declared and the three shared a nice laugh.</p><p> </p><p> But unfortunately, I had no time to chat with the boys from the back. I had some final preparations for the big night to get to: More appropriately, I had to deal with some druggies. Lodi was the first of the three belligerants. I opted to fine him like I did Lex, Kanyon and Scott. But I told him he didn't have to worry too much, seeing as he wasn't planned to be booked on The Big Bang anyway. He seemed alright with it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="1i45OpA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/1i45OpA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="w64b4yW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/w64b4yW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> I however showed no mercy to Wolfie and J.C. I looked at the two wanna-be rappers straight in the eye and gave my blunt opinion on them. "I'll be honest, I don't even know how you got into WCW in the first place."</p><p> </p><p> "Signed a deal with Eric before you got here." J.C. said, smirking as he did. "Figured as much." I replied back, J.C. made it clear to me that he didn't really care about his actions and Wolfie seemed to agree with me as he was giving J.C. some disapproving looks. "Well seeing that Eric's not here anymore and I have no plans for the two of you anyway, allow me to break a code of mine and put you out of your misery. J.C, Wolfie, pack your bags. You're fired."</p><p> </p><p> J.C's mood changed instantly when I delivered the two worded bombshell. He looked at his partner Wolfie D and saw how devastated he looked: The two of them had just lost their jobs in WCW. When he recollected himself, J.C attempted to put on his tough guy act again and looked at me. "Whatevs, didn't want to work with you anyway. So, thanks for everything." And like that, J.C left the office, leaving a broken down, tearing up Wolfie and me all alone. I took a glance at Wolfie, and I just felt sorry for him. Here was a guy that flopped in WWF, came over to WCW for another chance: But blew it by getting drugged up. "I'm sorry I had to do it to you kid-" I said, and was about to give a speech about not taking drugs when all of a sudden, Wolfie D spoke up.</p><p> </p><p> "No, i'm sorry. I'm sorry I disappointed you out there tonight. We came to WCW, hoping for another opportunity after things fell through in WWF; and we effin' blew it. And it pisses me off so much, because if we hadn't been so stupid. We'd still have a job by now! And that is why I thank you Dallas, thank you for giving me the opportunity to go and get my shit together."</p><p> </p><p> I looked at Wolfie again, and when I saw him say those things, I immediately became a proud papa and smiled. "Hey, it's like what I always say. When one door closes, another one opens. May not have worked out this time, but I promise you that once you get your problems sorted out, the door will be open for you to come back."</p><p> </p><p> "Thank you Dallas." He smiled softly as he choked away the tears and I gave him a tissue. "Yo, Wolfie!" J.C said, "You coming or what?" Wolfie turned to see his life-time tag partner and shouted out "I'm coming homie! And when we get home, we're gonna have a hella lot to talk about" He got up from the chair and waved me good bye. Their career in WCW may have ended on a sour note, but Wolfie's remorse showed me that there was hope that one of them could turn it around someday.</p><p> </p><p> Having finalized the card for the Big Bang. I realized something. Something about this event seemed...incomplete. I didn't know what it was, but it felt like something from this event was missing. Or was it someone. Finally, I came to a realization. Someone needed to see this event, someone very important. I called in Venus and asked her to get somebody's number. </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="SrEA1VS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SrEA1VS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> "W-who would you like for me to call Mr. Dallas?" How many title changes can we expect?: Since all the titles are vacant, none of them can technically "change hands".

Thank you for noticing this logical fallacy. It has been removed and in it's place is an added question into who it is that will be turning. Please, update the predictions sheet accordingly and you're good to go!

While Rey is the logical choice for your inaugural Cruiserweight Champ, Berlyn has had more exposure as of late.....that and Rey can be better utilised that just a Cruiserweight at this point

'The American Nightmare' Dustin Rhodes vs ???

While I hate to bet against the question marks, but unless ??? is Goldberg then Dustin has a chance here

WCW Television Championship: DDP vs Meng vs Terry Funk vs Bam Bam Bigelow

I have a hard time seeing any of these guys as TV Champion, but I'm going for Bam Bam simply because after losing the handicap match on Nitro he's going to look like a total jobber if he loses here too

Truth Streetz (Tony Truths and Ron Killings) vs Buzzkill and Steve Armstrong

Squash to debut the newcomers strong

WCW Hardcore Championship: Billy Kidman vs 'Who Better Than' Kanyon vs 'Wrestling Knows' Scott Hall vs Chavo Guerrero Jr

I'm tempted to pick Hall, just because I don't see him being happy about losing this match at all, but Hall is too big a name to dump in the Hardcore Division......Kanyon with the win, after Gunns screws Chavo over to align herself with the former Mortis

WCW United States Championship: 'The Hitman' Bret Hart vs 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner

Another match where I want to pick the bigger name, but again Bret is better than the US Title (despite what WCW thought) and I don't think Scotty had held the US Title yet at this point? So it's the logical next step for him

WCW Tag Team Championship: Harlem Heat vs Grizzled and Chieseled vs Dean Malenko and Rey Misterio Jr vs Eddie Guerrero and Ric Flair

Lex and Shane have been pushed pretty hard from the start so it would be a bit of an anti-climax if they didn't win the belts now....

'The Juice' Juventud Guerrera vs Buff Bagwell

Probably way out with this one, but lets go with Juvi with the upset of the night.....not that Buff will be happy about it

WCW World Heavyweight Championship, No DQ, If Chris Benoit Loses, He Is Fired From WCW: 'The Rabid Wolverine' Chris Benoit vs 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett

Russo screws Benoit somehow.....possibly with a retuning Goldberg heel turn (although don't do that, that was the worst thing that WCW could have possibly done at this point, no one wanted a heel Goldberg back then, not even Goldberg himself.) Benoit is fired, leading to more "shoot" angles.......well, that or he's signed with the WWF :p

BONUS:

Will Eric Bischoff be going to see The Big Bang?: No.

Will Vince Russo get involved in the world title match at any moment in this match?: Yes.

Will anyone be turning?: Yes....Gunns

What will be the best match on the card?: Benoit/Jarrett........although I'm tempted to go with Hart/Steiner

How long will the main event last?: 22:49

Who Will Be Debuting/Returning/Making a Surprise Appearance?: (Hint: There will be two surprises, one of them is a former WCW television champion, the other? One of WCW's biggest draws and one of the few stars they managed to create in their final years.) Johnny B Badd and Goldberg as most people have said, do seem to be the logical choices

WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Misterio Jr vs 'The God of Germany' Berlyn

Comment: Rey wins and sets the standard for the Cruiserweight Division

'The American Nightmare' Dustin Rhodes vs ???

Comment: Dustin wins, but those ??? always worries me.

WCW Television Championship: DDP vs Meng vs Terry Funk vs Bam Bam Bigelow

Comment: This should have been the Hardcore match. Three out of the four are great Brawlers. DDP wins the match as he will use the title to get over people with great matches.

Truth Streetz (Tony Truths and Ron Killings) vs Buzzkill and Steve Armstrong

Comment: An Armstrong win a match, not going to happen. Truth Streetz picks up a victory in a squash debut match.

WCW Hardcore Championship: Billy Kidman vs 'Who Better Than' Kanyon vs 'Wrestling Knows' Scott Hall vs Chavo Guerrero Jr

Comment: Scott Hall is above the division. Chavo and Kidman are cruiserweights. Kanyon is the logical choice here.

WCW United States Championship: 'The Hitman' Bret Hart vs 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner

Comment: Bret wins the title although I feel both these guys will be in World Title contention sooner than later.

WCW Tag Team Championship: Harlem Heat vs Grizzled and Chieseled vs Dean Malenko and Rey Misterio Jr vs Eddie Guerrero and Ric Flair

Comment: Harlem Heat the only good tag team you have on the roster and since Grizzled and Chiseled are working poor together I feel like Harlem Heat wins.

'The Juice' Juventud Guerrera vs Buff Bagwell

Comment: Buff Bagwell wins the match rather easily.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship, No DQ, If Chris Benoit Loses, He Is Fired From WCW: 'The Rabid Wolverine' Chris Benoit vs 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett

Comment: Benoit wins unless he is leaving and you haven't leaked it. He overcomes the odds and interference winning the title.

BONUS:

Will Eric Bischoff be going to see The Big Bang?: No, still on bad terms more than likely.

Will Vince Russo get involved in the world title match at any moment in this match?: Yes, of course. He has to screw somebody over. He might just walk out as Champion.

Will anyone be turning? Who specifically?: Yes. Bret Hart.

What will be the best match on the card?: Bret Hart vs. Scott Steiner

How long will the main event last?: 19:04

Who Will Be Debuting/Returning/Making a Surprise Appearance?: (Hint: There will be two surprises, one of them is a former WCW television champion, the other? One of WCW's biggest draws and one of the few stars they managed to create in their final years.) Johnny B. Badd and Goldberg

Comments On Last Show/Comments On Diary In General: It was great and I'm looking forward to Big Bang. Wanting to see something big happen. Can't wait to read what it is.
