NEWS: WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW PREVIEW!

hGgJckn.jpg

The Beast Is Back!

The first Monday Night Raw of 2018 will take place in the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida and will feature the return of the Universal Champion, The Beast Incarnate
Brock Lesnar
! We have learned that Lesnar will defend the Universal title at the Royal Rumble in a triple threat match against
Kane
and
Braun Strowman
.
Paul Heyman
, Lesnar's advocate, will surely have a few things to say on this night that Kane and Strowman will be forced to listen to. Will Kane and/or Strowman show themselves in the ring with The Beast?

Intercontinental Title Rematch

Last week, on a very special Christmas episode of Monday Night Raw,
Roman Reigns
defended the Intercontinental title against
Samoa Joe
. That match ended in controversy when Reigns got himself disqualified following an excessive burst of aggression on the Samoan Submission Machine. This week, Reigns will be forced to defend the title against Samoa Joe again with a little caveat: if Reigns is disqualified or counted out, he loses the Intercontinental title to Joe. The Big Dog has never defeated Samoa Joe in a one on one contest. Will he earn the victory this week or will we see a brand new Intercontinental champion?

Cruiserweight Title Match

Last week featured a Miracle On 34th Street Fight between six Cruiserweights as
Cedric Alexander
teamed with
Mustafa Ali
and
Akira Tozawa
to defeat
Enzo Amore
,
Drew Gulak
and
Ariya Daivari
. This week, Alexander gets his Cruiserweight title match against the leader of the Zo Train. Alexander earned this match and the question becomes of whether the new year will start with the Certified 'G' in control of the Cruiserweight division or will the Queen City's Favorite Son walk away in control?

New Tag Team Champions

Last week saw the crowning of brand new WWE World Tag Team Champions as
Seth Rollins
teamed with
Jason Jordan
to win the belts from
The Bar
in an impromptu contest. What will Cesaro and Sheamus say this evening when they come out without the tag team titles that they cherish? What kind of celebration will
Kurt Angle
have planned for his son now that his son has walked away with the Raw tag team titles? Will Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan be able to co-exist as a tag team?

Women's Royal Rumble

Two weeks ago,
Stephanie McMahon
and
Kurt Angle
announced the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble will take place at the Royal Rumble event at the end of the month. This week, we have learned that Kurt Angle will kick off Monday Night Raw by stating the rules of the Women's Royal Rumble. Will it have the same rules as the men or will something be different? We do know that, last week,
Asuka
became the first-ever Raw Superstar to declare that she is entering the Women's Royal Rumble. This week she will defend her undefeated streak as she goes one on one with Absolution's
Paige
. Paige became the first wrestler to hold both the NXT Women's title and the WWE Diva's title at the same time. Can she become the first to break the streak of the Empress of Tomorrow?

WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW

Women's Royal Rumble Rules And More

5gvgHSr.jpg

The brand new year starts with the arrival of the Raw General Manager Kurt Angle to the ring. Angle welcomes everyone to Monday Night Raw and reminds everyone that in just a few weeks time they will be headed to Philadelphia and the Royal Rumble event live on the WWE Network. This event will feature two Royal Rumble matches, one for the men and one for the women. Angle says that he wants to inform everyone that the rules for the women's Royal Rumble will be the exact same as the rules for the men's Royal Rumble. This means that the match will start with the two competitors that choose 1 and 2 and then another competitor will enter the ring every two minutes until all thirty superstars have come out. The way to eliminate someone is they have to go over the top rope and both feet hit the floor. Oh it's true, it's true! The winner of the women's Royal Rumble will get a women's title shot against either the Smackdown champion or the Raw champion.

raE4EzW.jpg0qiS4Xb.jpg

As soon as Angle finishes his talk about the Royal Rumble, he is interrupted by the arrival of The Bar. The crowd boos the arrival of Cesaro and Sheamus as they enter the ring without their Raw World Tag Team titles. We are shown why they don't have the belts. Last week, Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins defeated them on Christmas night for the belts. Back in the ring, Cesaro protests Angle putting his son in as Seth Rollins' partner last week. He says that Angle showed nepotism and that it absolutely sickens him to have that happen here on Raw. Cesaro demands a rematch tonight on Monday Night Raw. Angle refuses the rematch tonight but he says that they will get their match in a few weeks time at the Royal Rumble. This revelation brings out Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins.

IXUyFRC.jpgCZ1hXw1.jpg

Jason Jordan enters the ring first and gets right up in the face of Cesaro, telling him that they can beat The Bar any time, any night. Cesaro is definitely the calmer of the two, calling Jordan an arrogant, entitled punk. Jordan shoves Cesaro and Cesaro comes back with a European Uppercut, staggering Jordan backward. Kurt Angle steps in between the two fighting wrestlers and says that he thinks we have a match tonight, right now. Angle calls for a referee and we have our very first impromptu match of the night.

Match #1

IXUyFRC.jpg6HHIplZ.jpgraE4EzW.jpg

Jason Jordan vs. Cesaro

Seth Rollins and Sheamus stay at ringside for this match in their respective corners. Both men look to take the match to the mat early on, utilizing quick reversals but Jordan's aggressiveness is what turns the tide during this match. Jordan goes for a cross body off the top rope early on but Cesaro catches him with a leaping European Uppercut to take him back down to the mat. Cesaro begins a systematic dismantling of the younger Jordan, working on his right leg. Cesaro drops Jordan with a spinebuster in the middle of the ring and then grabs the legs. The crowd looks like they might get the return of the Cesaro Swing. They watch intently but Cesaro shakes his head and goes right into the Sharpshooter. Jordan shows some fortitude, though, when he manages to reach the ropes. Jordan manages a burst of momentum when he catches Cesaro with an Alphaplex but, outside the ring, Sheamus catches Seth Rollins with a Brogue Kick! This distracts both the referee and Jason Jordan. The referee checks on Rollins as Cesaro clips the knee out from behind of Jason Jordan. Sheamus rolls in the ring and drops Jordan with a Brogue kick behind the referee's back! Sheamus exits the ring and Cesaro makes the cover, scoring the pinfall in 10:16.

Reigns Vows Revenge

2B7NDoI.jpgNdKuqR7.jpg

Backstage, Charly Caruso catches up with the WWE Intercontinental champion Roman Reigns. Caruso asks Reigns about his match tonight with Samoa Joe and the stipulation that if Reigns gets disqualified or counted out, he loses the title. Reigns begins by reminding Charly that this match is very personal to him, just like it was last week. He says that by the end of the night neither one of them might be Intercontinental champion. He says that if he gets disqualified, he's not going to stop until Samoa Joe is lying in a hospital room somewhere. Then, Reigns takes this moment to declare that he will be going to the Royal Rumble match in Philadelphia. Not only will he be going to the match, he is going to win the Royal Rumble and step in the ring for either the World title or the Universal title. You can believe that.

Match #2

6IuHM2M.jpg6HHIplZ.jpghvS5Qbn.jpg

Braun Strowman vs. Goldust

Goldust is already in the ring when the music for Braun Strowman starts to play. As soon as Strowman hits the ring, Goldust goes right after him. Goldust strikes with punches, knocking Strowman back into a corner. Goldust backs up and charges the corner, only to run into a tree limb that Strowman calls his arm, sending Goldust hard to the mat. The match, itself, is very short and is mostly dominated by Strowman. The announcers talk about the fact that Strowman will be facing both Kane and the Universal champion Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble for the Universal title. Much of the talk by the announcers is about the impressive strength of Braun Strowman. In the ring, Strowman lives up to the accolades when he brings Goldust to the mat with the Running Powerslam and pins him in only 3:35.

Braun Strowman p. Goldust =C-

Cruiserweight Fight

Q2ZFkHP.jpgmGwWMMa.jpg

Backstage, we are shown Kalisto and Jack Gallagher getting into an argument over who deserves the next shot at the WWE Cruiserweight title. Kalisto, finally, challenges Gallagher to meet him in the ring and Gallagher agrees to a match next week on Raw. As a gentleman, Gallagher offers a handshake to Kalisto to seal their match. Kalisto accepts the handshake but Gallagher strikes him with a forearm to the side of the head and then a headbutt that fells Kalisto to the ground. Gallagher smiles, standing over Kalisto and then turns around about face as officials step in. Then we are taken to the ringside area.

Certified 'G'

cy0T1uz.jpg

That ringside area is for the entrance of the WWE Cruiserweight champion. Enzo Amore introduces himself as a Certified 'G' and a bona fide stud and you can't teach that. He's the realest guy in the room. How you doin?' Amore steps inside the ring and says that tonight he's facing a guy that talks about being from some place called the 'Queen City.' That sounds like a place that Goldust is from. How you doin?' He says that Cedric Alexander got lucky last week. It was a Christmas miracle but the time for miracles is over. It's time for a good hard look at reality and the reality is that Cedric is nowhere near the man that Enzo Amore is. As a matter of fact, there's only one word to describe him and Amore says that he's going to spell it out for you: S A W F T! SAWFT! Amore tosses the microphone and gets ready for his hour one main event title defense.

Match #3: WWE Cruiserweight title match

cy0T1uz.jpg6HHIplZ.jpgeKcYhOu.jpg

Enzo Amore defends vs. Cedric Alexander

The second match features some more high flying action than we've seen so far as Cedric Alexander steps in the ring against Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight title. The match itself is a decent back and forth contest, given a little more time to showcase both of these athletes. Alexander nearly scores the pinfall on Amore when he drops him with a Brainbuster. Amore comes back, using some underhanded moves to gain the advantage. Referee Chad Patton takes an errant shot by Alexander late in the contest, allowing Amore to go to the eyes of Alexander. Amore rolls out of the ring and grabs the Cruiserweight title belt. He slides in and smashes Alexander in the back of the head. Amore slides the belt out of the ring and covers Alexander as Michael Cole calls foul. The referee begins the count and the three count is made 10:30 into the contest. Enzo Amore retains the Cruiserweight title to end the first hour.

Enzo Amore p. Cedric Alexander =D+

Woken Wyatt

42yMtPn.jpg

The second hour opens with the arrival of the Eater of Worlds Bray Wyatt. Wyatt walks slowly out to the ring holding his lantern in one hand. The fireflies are alight in Miami as Wyatt enters the ring and blows out the lantern light. Wyatt gets on the microphone and talks about how he is battling a fool in the man known as Matt Hardy. Hardy should know that it is a fool's game for a human to go one on one with a god! Wyatt reminds everyone that he is the eater of worlds and the new face of fear in the WWE. So he invites Matt Hardy and his Woken Warriors to bow down in this ring to Bray Wyatt and the fireflies.

ncGop0L.jpg

Matt Hardy interrupts the interview by showing up on the Titantron. Hardy says that they are coming closer and closer to the Great War and that his Woken Warriors are prepared to delete every single firefly they come across. Yes! Wyatt dares Hardy to come out here and try while Hardy warns Wyatt to be careful what he asks for because he just might get it. Showing that the Titantron is merely a video, Matt Hardy slides into the ring behind Bray Wyatt! He spins Wyatt around and goes for the Twist of Fate but Wyatt escapes and quickly exits the ring. He stares up at Hardy as Hardy leads the Woken Warriors in a chant of 'delete, delete, delete!'

Paige's Absolution

vAVK6h1.jpgyyq4Df8.jpgq6Q5ZsP.jpg

From the Wyatts we go backstage to show Absolution. Paige tells her Absolution teammates, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, to remain in the locker room during her match with Asuka. She says that she appreciates their moral support during the matches but she is going to be the one to break Asuka's streak on her own tonight. Rose and Deville say they are confident in Paige and what she can do on her own. Just like it will be every woman for themselves when Absolution joins the Women's Royal Rumble. They say that they will be the last three women left and may the best woman win.

Match #4

ddNwHT8.jpg6HHIplZ.jpgvAVK6h1.jpg

Asuka vs. Paige

The crowd is solidly in the corner of the Empress of Tomorrow when she comes out to the ring to take on Paige. The match itself is one of the toughest that we have seen Asuka in since she made her debut on the main roster on Monday Night Raw. The contest goes back and forth early on until Asuka takes down Paige with a hip attack. Paige drops to her knees and Asuka goes for the Buzzsaw Kick but Paige ducks and pops up, throwing Asuka with a release German suplex! Paige scores a quick two count on Asuka but the Empress is able to kick out before the three count. As the match continues, Paige is in control and seems to have counters to all of Asuka's attempts at reversals. Paige catches Asuka with the Paige-Turner and then covers her, scoring a very close two count. Paige looks frustrated and argues with the official before Asuka rolls her up and scores her own two count. Both women make it to their feet and Asuka catches Paige with multiple kicks and a spinning back fist to bring Paige to the mat. Quickly, Asuka moves in and locks Paige in the Asuka Lock! Paige struggles in the hold, trying not to submit. The referee asks her again and Paige is forced to submit at the 10:23 mark, keeping Asuka's winning streak intact.

Asuka d. Paige =C

Debut Of The Club

5gvgHSr.jpgvMsCaM5.jpg

Backstage, Kurt Angle is standing by with Finn Balor. Angle tells Balor that he gave him this six man tag team match tonight but he needs to know who Finn Balor's partners are going to be. Balor smiles and says that he went back to his past and found a couple of guys that he used to run with back in the day. In walks Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. They both 2Sweet Balor and say that it's about time that they brought the Balor Club to the WWE. Balor says that, tonight, Elias and The Miztourage are going to fall because they are not members of an elite club. The three men walk off from Angle and Angle smiles as he watches the reuniting of a group from Japan.

Rhythm And Blues?

cY9Mz3r.jpgwqi9tRb.jpgEutWLcd.jpg

Inside the ring, seated on chairs are the team that will face The Balor Club tonight and that is Elias and The Miztourage. Bo Dallas says that he has a great treat for the fans because they get to know that next week will see the return of The A-Lister The Miz! Elias takes control and he asks the crowd a very important question: who wants to walk with Elias? He says that he is proud that The Miztourage are walking with him tonight. Three men who will not walk with him are their opponents tonight and those men are Finn Balor, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. They don't get that WWE stands for Walk With Elias. But they will understand when they get beaten tonight by the greatest singer in WWE history and The Miztourage! Elias says that Miami is not worthy of getting a song sung by him so he puts away the guitar and prepares for the six man tag match.

Match #5

vMsCaM5.jpgKME0za0.jpglto9Qop.jpg6HHIplZ.jpgcY9Mz3r.jpgwqi9tRb.jpgEutWLcd.jpg

Finn Balor and The Club vs. Elias and The Miztourage

The main event of the second hour is the six man tag team match featuring the WWE debut of The Balor Club. The match is a lot closer than some might have thought with the competitors in the ring. The Balor Club starts with some momentum but the first-ever Universal champion gets caught in the wrong corner. Elias and The Miztourage use quick tags in and out to keep a fresh man in the ring and the focus on Finn Balor. Bo Dallas goes for the BoDog but Balor throws him off to the center of the ring before crawling to the corner and tagging in Luke Gallows. Gallows catches everyone on the other team with running big boots and then a standing sideslam for Bo Dallas. Dallas tags in Elias and Elias catches Gallows with a couple of forearm shots but Gallows sends Elias to the mat with a clothesline. All six men enter the ring for a brawl that goes in the favor of the Balor Club. Elias catches a Magic Killer from Gallows and Anderson. Gallows tags in Balor, who climbs to the top rope and then lands the Coup de Grace. Balor makes the cover and scores the three count 15:46 into the contest.

Samoan Submission Machine

2B7NDoI.jpgMDc4vUe.jpg

Before the second hour officially closes, Charly Caruso catches up with the challenger in tonight's main event Samoa Joe. Charly says that she's sure that Joe heard what Roman Reigns had to say earlier tonight. She asks Joe for some comments as we move closer to their encounter. Joe laughs and says that talk is cheap. If talk won championships, then he wouldn't be here because he's a man of few words. But the one word that he's going to say tonight is going to be champion. He says that last week Roman Reigns saved his title and his ass by getting disqualified. This week that cannot happen. This week, Roman Reigns has to do something he's never been able to do one on one and that's beat The Destroyer. He says that the rest of the world and Roman Reigns himself need to realize that he owns Roman Reigns. He says that he's going to put Roman Reigns up in the hospital bed right beside the other Shield member that he put there: Dean Ambrose. He reminds everyone that right now Dean Ambrose is a stay at home husband, living off his wife's paycheck because he dared to face off with Samoa Joe. He says that the ring may be Roman Reigns' yard but that yard is in Samoa Joe's world. Joe walks off angrily.

Twin Monsters Unite?

C6fFQ73.jpg6IuHM2M.jpg

To begin the third and final hour, we are taken backstage to show Kane walking up and going face-to-face with Braun Strowman. Kane tells Strowman that he's not looking to fight him tonight. They will save that for the Royal Rumble. Kane says that he wants to talk to Strowman about Brock Lesnar. He says that the two of them are the Alpha Monsters of the WWE and together they can do better than the two of them apart against The Beast. Strowman says that he doesn't need to team with anyone, much less an ancient fading monster like Kane. He says that he is the only Alpha Monster left in the WWE and when he takes down The Beast he is going to prove that he is the Alpha in this company. Kane shakes his head and looks at Strowman as if Strowman is a fool. Strowman just smiles maniacally before walking off and away from Kane. We head to the ring.

Match #6

W1murY1.jpg6H1xxWL.jpg6HHIplZ.jpgKX0x1x6.jpg39Qapzm.jpg

Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. The Revival

Our sixth match of the night features tag team action as we see the first ever Smackdown Live tag team champions step in the ring against the 'Top Guys' in The Revival. The match is extremely short for a tag team contest and features The Revival dominating in every aspect of the contest. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson showcase some great tag team wrestling as they focus in on the back of Heath Slater, keeping Rhyno from tagging in for a majority of the match. Rhyno is in for a thirty second burst at the beginning of the match but once he tags in Heath Slater he is left standing on the apron. The Revival catch Slater with a German Suplex/European Uppercut combination for a two count. Slater tries a quick burst of momentum but he is caught by Dawson and dropped with the Shatter Machine in the middle of the ring. Dawson knocks Rhyno off the apron and Wilder makes the cover, scoring a three count at 3:49.

A Boss Against A Goddess?

YMrDYvz.jpgb1OSS7T.jpgaKhzkl3.jpg

Backstage, Scott Stanford is standing by with the WWE Raw Women's champion Alexa Bliss. Stanford asks Bliss about the upcoming Women's Royal Rumble match and Bliss says that the only bad thing about it is that she cannot enter it and eliminate every other female from the ring. She says that it's sad, really, because everyone will be forced to watch all those other ugly female wrestlers in one ring. Speaking of ugly women, says Bliss, as Sasha Banks approaches her. Banks says that Bliss thinks she's so bad but she's got to remember that The Boss knows exactly what it takes to win that Raw Women's title. She tells Bliss that she is going to be the one to win the Women's Royal Rumble and then, maybe, she'll be the one to take the belt off Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania. But, why wait until then? Banks challenges Bliss to meet her in the ring next week and defend that title. Bliss refuses, dismissing Banks with a wave of her hand. However, Kurt Angle just happens to be walking by. Angle turns and says that sounds like a great match next week. However, it will not for the Raw Women's title. But this could mean great momentum for Sasha Banks and the Women's Royal Rumble. Bliss starts to argue but Angle says his decision is final. Oh it's true.

Match #7: WWE Intercontinental title match. If Roman Reigns is disqualified or counted out, he loses the title

NdKuqR7.jpg6HHIplZ.jpgMDc4vUe.jpg

Roman Reigns defends vs. Samoa Joe

It is main event time and this match could be a main event anywhere in the country as Roman Reigns, The Big Dog, steps in the ring with Samoa Joe, The Destroyer. As soon as the bell sounds, Joe steps toward Reigns and then slaps him hard! Joe steps back and rolls out of the ring with Reigns giving chase. Joe manages to grab a chair and slides in the ring with the chair. Reigns follows him in and Joe throws the chair to Reigns. Joe taunts Reigns, telling The Big Dog to hit him with the chair. Reigns raises the chair and referee John Cone threatens him with a disqualification. Reigns looks conflicted, allowing Joe to step in and begin peppering Reigns with sharp punches to the head. Joe catches Reigns with a quick Uranage! Joe makes a cover but only scores barely a two count before Reigns gets the shoulder up. Joe gets into a cat and mouse game with Reigns, hitting and moving from Reigns back and forth. He makes the Intercontinental champion chase him instead of the other way around. Joe sends Reigns into a corner and catches him with the reverse avalanche and then the enzuigiri in the corner! Joe sends Reigns to a second corner and goes to follow him in but Reigns explodes out of the corner with the Superman Punch! Both men go down to the mat and Reigns makes a cover: One, Two, Kickout!

Michael Cole: "We were just half a count away from Roman Reigns finally defeating Samoa Joe for the first time here on Raw."

The match continues with the momentum shifting back and forth between these two athletes. Both men pull out all the stops in this contest with Reigns hitting a Superman Punch, a Drive By and the tilt-a-whirl slam. Joe responds with a Death Valley Driver, a half nelson suplex and a running big boot to the head of Reigns against the barricade outside the ring. Joe grabs the television cable and begins choking Reigns with the cable outside the ring. He releases after a few seconds and then tosses a chair in the ring. The referee goes to remove the chair and Joe tosses Reigns in the ring. Joe grabs another chair and slides in, hitting the chair on the mat. Joe tosses the chair to Reigns and then drops to the mat, pretending that Reigns hit him with the chair! The referee turns and sees Joe on the mat with the chair in the hands of Roman Reigns! Reigns drops the chair and tells the referee he didn't use it! The fans even try to tell the referee it didn't happen. Joe tries to plead that Reigns used the chair, telling the referee to disqualify him. The referee points to the Titantron and the truck shows him exactly what happened.

Michael Cole: "Samoa Joe tries to pull an Eddie Guerrero here in Miami but thankfully the referee didn't believe him. But we almost had a new Intercontinental champion by underhanded means."

The match continues with the momentum doing a few more shifts until Roman Reigns seems to be in complete control. The crowd here in Miami is a little more pro-Roman Reigns than in other parts of the country. But he is still receiving a fair share of boos. Reigns catches Samoa Joe with a third Superman Punch of the match and then lines him up from the corner. Reigns releases a battle cry in the corner as Samoa Joe is standing up. Joe staggers on his feet, turning toward Reigns and Reigns charges for the spear -- NO! Joe counters with a front kick! Joe slides behind Reigns and locks in the Coquina Clutch! Joe drops backward to the mat, wrapping his legs around the waist of Reigns! Reigns struggles in the submission hold. He shakes his head but he is starting to fade from consciousness. He uses the last of his strength to try and roll so that they can roll out of the ring but Joe manages to stop him mere inches from the ropes. The referee checks the arm of Roman Reigns and it drops once, twice and then three times! We have a brand new WWE Intercontinental champion!

Samoa Joe d. Roman Reigns =B-

New Intercontinental Champion

MDc4vUe.jpg

Michael Cole is shocked as Samoa Joe releases Roman Reigns before the count of five. Referee John Cone hands Joe the Intercontinental title and raises his arm up high in the air. Officials come down and check on Roman Reigns, rolling him out of the ring and helping him toward the back. In the ring, Joe stands tall to a chant of 'Joe, Joe, Joe' from the fans. The Destroyer has won the very first main event match on Monday Night Raw in January 2018. Joe climbs to the second turnbuckle and raises the Intercontinental title belt high in the air. Who can stop The Destroyer?

Arrival Of The Beast

wKHW9kc.jpgz8Jnqpn.jpg

A three-way screen shows Kane, Braun Strowman and Paul Heyman with Brock Lesnar in three separate parts of the arena. Back inside the ringside area and ramp, we hear the sounds of 'Here Comes The Pain' and Paul Heyman leads The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar to the ring here in Miami. A few fans give some cheers, a few give some boos. The two men enter the ring and Heyman has a microphone. 'Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman and I am the advocate for the reigning, defending, undisputed Universal heavyweight champion, the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar!' Heyman says that we are now in the year 2018 and he promises that 2018 is going to be known forevermore as The Year of The Beast! But there is something that they need to speak about right now. In just a few weeks, the deck is supposedly going to be stacked against his client, Brock Lesnar, when Lesnar defends the Universal title against Kane and Braun Strowman in a triple threat match. However, let him remind all of you watching here and at home about another time that everyone thought the deck was stacked against Brock Lesnar. The year was 2014 and the place was New Orleans. That was the year that the Beast conquered the Streak of The Undertaker. That was the year that Brock Lesnar became the 1 in 21-1. He did something that no one but him and I thought that he could do. He will do the same at the Royal Rumble against Kane and Braun Strowman and he will bring the Universal title back to the place where he ended the streak and prove, once again, that there is no man or monster that can survive the Conquerer.

Paul Heyman is interrupted by the organ music playing in the background and out comes 'The Devil's Favorite Demon' Kane! Brock Lesnar bounces on his feet and watches as Kane walks toward the ring. As soon as Kane enters the ring, Lesnar goes right after him! The fight is on between The Beast and The Demon! The two men brawl with heavy handed fists throwing punches and clotheslines. Neither man wants to back down from the other one! Lesnar ducks a punch and slips behind Kane -- release German suplex! He throws Kane across the ring with relative ease! But Kane sits up! Kane turns and looks toward a surprised Brock Lesnar. Lesnar rushes back in and Kane stands, grabbing Lesnar by the throat -- Chokeslam! Kane plants Lesnar in the center of the ring with chokeslam! Kane raises his arms and brings them down as fire shoots from all four corners! Kane exits the ring as Paul Heyman checks on The Beast. Kane gets to the top of the ramp when Brock Lesnar suddenly sits up! Lesnar turns and eyes Kane from in the ring. The two men stare each other down as the show comes to an end. As Michael Cole says, we'll see you next time!

McMahon calls the Smackdown Live WWE champion </em><em><strong>AJ Styles</strong></em><em> out to the ring. They don't want none. Well, at least according to Styles' music, as Styles comes out to go face-to-face with McMahon. McMahon issues an apology to Styles, something he says the McMahons don't do very often. But the loss last week was absolutely his fault, even though he was just trying to keep things fair and square. Styles tells McMahon to save his apologies. If he really wants to make it up him, then Styles says that McMahon can give him a chance at revenge against Kevin Owens. </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> As soon as Styles says this, </em><em><strong>The Yep Movement</strong></em><em> walks out from the back. Owens and Zayn enter the ring and Owens tells Styles that if he wants Owens again all he has to do is put up the WWE championship. Styles is ready to accept the challenge but McMahon steps in and says 'Nope!' McMahon refuses to allow Owens a shot at the title but what he will do is say that if Sami Zayn wins the match tonight, then Zayn will face AJ Styles for the WWE championship at the Royal Rumble, giving up his rights to be in the Royal Rumble match itself. Owens grabs McMahon by the shirt collar but McMahon threatens to suspend Owens if he doesn't let go. He says that suspension will go through the Royal Rumble event. Owens quickly releases and cries out in frustration. Owens turns and gets caught with a Pele Kick by AJ Styles! Owens falls through the ropes to ringside. To be honest, there was nothing major about this match. Dillinger frustrated Rawley in the early-going and gave him the 'ten' fingers before Rawley kicks Dillinger in the gut. Rawley continues some momentum, striking Dillinger with his version of the Stinger splash for a two count. The Long Island Iced Z catches Rawley with a missile dropkick! Ryder goes right after Rawley and the two begin brawling in the middle of the ring. McMahon warns them that if they don't stop, they will both be out of the United States title tournament. They both hesitate for a moment before Rawley catches Ryder with a forearm shot. It will be Kevin Owens versus a mystery opponent and the winner moves on to the Royal Rumble and will be added to the WWE championship title match either in a one on one capacity or in a triple threat if Sami Zayn wins tonight. Harper catches Breeze with a superkick, knocking Breeze back into a corner. Harper slaps Rowan and then irish whips him into an avalanche on Breeze. Rowan shoves Breeze into a spinning side slam. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin earned this match with a victory last week. This match is your typical tag team contest. A bit of back and forth in the early going leads to a poor suicide dive attempt by Jimmy Uso. He smashes into the barricade and seems to be legitimately injured by the looks of things. Jimmy is dragged back in the ring but makes a quick tag to Jey Uso before Chad Gable can do anything to him. In comes Jey and he is quickly brought down to the mat by mat wrestler, Chad Gable. Gable nearly scores the Smackdown Live tag team titles for himself and Shelton Benjamin following a roll-through German suplex. Jimmy can be seen holding his right ear and telling the referee something. The match continues with Jey in the ring against both members of the challenging team. Momentum swings when Shelton Benjamin goes for a 450 splash, only to find nobody home. The match goes quickly into the finish when both teams make their tags. Flair proves that wrong as her backup arrives in the form of </em><em><strong>Naomi</strong></em><em> and </em><em><strong>Becky Lynch</strong></em><em>. Cena enters the ring and says that we are only a few weeks away from one of the best shows in the WWE calendar year and that's the Royal Rumble. One man and one woman will be guaranteed a main event spot at WrestleMania. According to John Cena, that one man is going to be him because he is the main event at WrestleMania. Before Cena can continue, </em><em><strong>Baron Corbin</strong></em><em>'s music interrupts him. Corbin walks out to the ring and says we've heard this before. He says that it's always the same old song with John Cena. But, Corbin says, that he is going to step into the Royal Rumble and not only win it but he plans to eliminate John Cena during the match. Cena reminds the 'slow' Corbin that they might not even be in the ring at the same time. Corbin says that won't matter and, in fact, he says he'll give Cena a preview of the Royal Rumble. This leads to a brawl between Baron Corbin and John Cena. Corbin sets up Cena for the End Of Days but Cena fights out and sets up Corbin for the Attitude Adjustment. Cena lands the AA just as </em><em><strong>Randy Orton</strong></em><em> slithers in the ring. Orton drops Cena with a RKO out of nowhere! The crowd pops for this and Orton turns to look at Corbin. He drops down and pounds the mat, waiting for Corbin to reach his feet. Corbin pulls himself up, only to drop back down with a RKO of his own. Orton climbs to the second turnbuckle and celebrates. Could we see Randy Orton win his third Royal Rumble and second in a row? As the two men enter the ring, English says that he is going to do what his good friend and partner Rusev has done. That is to win the United States title on Rusev Day at the Rusev Rumble! This United States title tournament match features two men who are definitely more at home in the tag team division but one of them will advance to the semifinals to take on Jinder Mahal. The match features some control by both men, with a highlight being Xavier Woods hitting the tornado DDT on Aiden English and then covering him for a two count. Other highlights include Woods hitting a suicide dive outside the ring on Aiden English, Rusev distracting Woods so that English can get him from behind and run him into the ring post and English hitting the Whirling Dervish for a two count. The finish comes when, outside the ring, Rusev hits Big E with a pump kick, distracting both the referee and Xavier Woods, who was on the top turnbuckle. English strikes Woods, crotching him on the turnbuckle before dragging him to the center of the ring and hitting the Director's Cut, a full nelson lifted and dropped into a reverse STO. English makes the cover and scores a three count 9 minutes and 40 seconds into the contest.</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Aiden English p. Roode looks up in the camera and says that when he came to Smackdown Live, Shane McMahon broke the bank to get him into the company. That means that McMahon deserves a return on his investment. That return is going to happen in a few weeks at the Royal Rumble. Roode announces that he will be one of the Smackdown Live participants in the Royal Rumble. So not only is he going to win the United States title on that show but he is going to win the Royal Rumble. That is going to make that night absolutely...GLORIOUS! He tells Zayn that he will back him up tonight and then, when he wins next week, he will be there at the Royal Rumble and the Yep Movement will walk away from the Royal Rumble with the title. But it all begins tonight when Zayn beats AJ Styles. Zayn throws some shadow boxing punches and says that he's ready and he better be because the match is next!</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match #5: </strong><strong><span style="color:#0000FF;">Non-Title Match</span></strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45157" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><img alt="5VHmzhi.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/5VHmzhi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="yIW43TA.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/yIW43TA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="XSQwWVV.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/XSQwWVV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn</span></strong></p><p> It's main event time and what a fast-paced wrestling main event we have as the WWE champion AJ Styles takes on Sami Zayn from the Yep Movement. Zayn has Kevin Owens in his corner, while AJ Styles is alone. The match definitely got the crowd hotter as they saw the great wrestling action between these two main event superstars. Styles started out with some impressive offense against Zayn, striking him with moves like a vertical suplex transitioned into a neckbreaker. The momentum shifts when Zayn is tossed from the ring and Styles goes for a dive. Kevin Owens pushes Zayn out of the way and takes the dive from Styles. With Styles distracted, Zayn catches him with an enzuigiri and then brings the action back inside the ring. Within a few minutes of momentum on the side of Sami Zayn, he catches AJ Styles with the Blue Thunder Bomb. It transitions into a pinfall but Styles kicks out after a two count. Zayn argues with the official and with the referee distracted, Kevin Owens reaches in and begins choking AJ Styles.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">Tom Phillips:</span></strong><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';"> </span><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';"><span style="color:#FF0000;">"Kevin Owens interfering in the match but here comes Shane McMahon! The referee walks over to the argument and AJ Styles manages to get Sami Zayn in a quick small package but the referee is, once again, distracted by Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens just like last week. McMahon points to the small package and the referee turns around but only manages a one count before Zayn kicks out. The action continues and Styles starts to gain some momentum against Zayn. Styles catches Zayn with a Pele Kick and then he goes to the apron, adjusting his elbow pad. He waits for Zayn to start staggering to his feet. Kevin Owens jumps up on the apron but Shane McMahon pulls him down! McMahon points toward the back, kicking Owens out from ringside! This leaves Styles distracted enough that Zayn manages to get over, bringing Styles over the top rope with a vertical suplex. Zayn pushes Styles back in the corner and then drops him with the Helluva Kick! Zayn makes a quick cover and scores a three count in what can definitely be considered an upset. The pinfall occurs in 15 minutes and 40 seconds.<p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Sami Zayn p. Zayn joins </em><em><strong>Kevin Owens</strong></em><em> outside the ring where they hug and Owens raises the arm of Sami Zayn! In the ring, </em><em><strong>Shane McMahon</strong></em><em> walks up to AJ Styles, apologizing for his part in what happened in the match. Styles responds by shoving McMahon to the mat. An angry Styles turns and exits the ring, grabbing his title belt and beginning to walk up the ramp. The Yep Movement enter the ring and corner Shane McMahon, looking like they are ready to strike him. Instead, AJ Styles turns and runs back into the ring. He strikes Zayn with the title belt and then aims at Owens but Owens slides out of the ring before he can be hit. AJ Styles stands tall in the ring to close the show as The Yep Movement are both outside the ring. Sami Zayn is your winner tonight but Styles is the one standing tall in the ring.</em></p>

NEWS: WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW PREVIEW!

hGgJckn.jpg

Samoa Joe Kicks Off The Show!

Last week on Monday Night Raw, we saw
Samoa Joe
defeat
Roman Reigns
and win the Intercontinental title for the first time in his career. As we head to the Fed Ex Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, we have learned that Samoa Joe is going to kick things off on this Monday Night Raw episode. What will we hear from the new Intercontinental champion? Will he have to defend his title on this first show as champion? What will he have to say about the upcoming Royal Rumble in which he will be a participant?

The Miz Returns!

Last week,
The Miztourage
announced that their mentor,
The Miz
, would be returning to Monday Night Raw this week. The A-Lister has been gone filming a movie and now makes his triumphant return to Monday Night Raw. The last time he was on the show, though, he lost the Intercontinental title to Roman Reigns. Then Reigns lost the title to Samoa Joe. What will The Miz have to say about the Intercontinental title bouncing around in his absence? What will Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel have to say about the return of their mentor?

Bliss Or Banks?

Last week, on Monday Night Raw, an argument broke out backstage between
Alexa Bliss
and
Sasha Banks
. This argument lead to a major match being signed for this edition of Monday Night Raw as the WWE Raw Women's champion Alexa Bliss takes on The Boss Sasha Banks in a non title encounter. The Goddess has to have the Royal Rumble on her mind as she may very well find out who her WrestleMania opponent will be. As for Sasha Banks, she definitely needs some momentum when it comes to the Women's Royal Rumble. A win by The Boss on this edition of Monday Night Raw could go a long way toward her possibly winning the Women's Royal Rumble.

The Architect And The Irishman!

Last week,
Cesaro
took a big step in possibly winning back the Raw tag team titles when he defeated
Jason Jordan
. This week,
Seth Rollins
gets the opportunity to get the win back when he takes on the Irishman
Sheamus
. Both of these men are veterans who have been in the WWE for years and have multiple title reigns between the two of them. Both of them will be looking to get momentum as we get closer to the Royal Rumble and the Raw tag team titles match where Rollins and Jordan defend against The Bar.

Two Alpha Monsters!

Last week,
Braun Strowman
told
Kane
that he has no plans in teaming up with him to take out the Universal champion
Brock Lesnar
. Kane decided to make a statement when he went face-to-face with Lesnar at the end of the night and dropped Lesnar with a powerful chokeslam. Brock Lesnar is not in the building this week but Kane and Braun Strowman will both definitely be in the building. As will
Paul Heyman
, Lesnar's advocate. With all of these combustible elements put together this is sure to be an explosive edition of Monday Night Raw.

NEWS: JIMMY USO INJURED!

9O35YSa.jpg

The WWE are saddened to make the announcement that one half of the WWE Smackdown tag team champions,
Jimmy Uso
, suffered an injury at the last Smackdown taping.

We are able to say the injury to Jimmy Uso is a perforated ear drum that was suffered when he smashed into the barricade due to missing a suicide dive attempt. We know that he will be out for at least a couple of weeks. We wish him the best in his recovery. More information should be forthcoming on the next Smackdown Live show this Tuesday.
