OldSchool4life
Summer is here and I am finally going to dedicate my spare time to writing a lengthy dynasty.... my only problem is I'm still torn between what to focus on. 1980 Georgia Championship Wrestling vs 1985 Memphis Wrestling There is just something about Tommy Rich in his prime, Ole Anderson, Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Wrestling 2 and Gordon Solie that speaks to me but Being right along ringside for another BIG day of championship wrestling with Lance & Dave featuring Lawler, Dundee, Savage and a lot more seems like it could be worth my while. I am torn between the two and do not know which to pick..... someone give me some insight... thanks in advance.
horseman4lyfe
I am a big fan of both. Hopefully you choose GCW. I grew up watching GCW every Saturday on the Superstation. Got good memories of my dad and granddad taking me to the Omni. Which ever one you choose I'll be following.<img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. Both promotions had great wrestling, but to me GCW had the better talent. I am not knocking Lawler,Dundee,Savage,Gilbert,The Fabulous Ones.To where GCW had Tommy Rich (in his prime)Dusty Rhodes,Ole Anderson,The Assassins,Mr. Wrestling#II, Austin Idol,Kevin Sullivan to just name a few. Also I believe in the fall of 1980 The Fabulous Freebirds debut, not to mention The story line of the big turn angle as well. I'll be following either way,no matter which one you choose. Theheel
<p>Since we got GCW on TBS on cable I saw a lot more of that but I read a lot about Mempho through the mags. I think either would be great because we don’t have either currently represented. I agree the appeal of Dusty vs Ole (“It will never be over Rhodes”) and the legend that is Wrestling II might be too hard to resist, but 85 Memphis has King vs Macho before he left for the WWF.</p><p> </p><p> Have fun either way you go</p>
