Birth of The Bad Boys: Detroit Pistons 1981-?????

Coming off the 1980-1981 NBA season, the Boston Celtics beat Moses Malone and the Houston Rockets to claim their first NBA title since the 70s. Led by Regular Season and Finals MVP, Larry Bird, The Boston Celtics looked to shape the Eastern Conference and the NBA as a whole. That isn't the case for the Detroit Pistons. A run down team that was coming into the 80s with a different mindset, the birth of a new era and with Isiah Thomas drafted 2nd overall. It looked like Detroit found the poster boy for their new look. Underappreciated due to his size and not seen as much of a threat to the league, The Detroit Pistons will have quite the task of defeating the East and rising above.

I will not be ending the clippers dynasty as I want that dynasty to continue for who knows how long, this will simply be a dynasty for playing through the 80s and meeting my expectation of playing through every era with every team in the game and doing it in a dynasty format. I look forward to juggling this with the Clippers dynasty but don't fear as this will most likely be my side gig for formatting help and making it a bit more polished than my Clippers dynasty.</p>

Kent Benson will be our starting Center and will anchor the front court along with Edgar Jones. Benson provides rebounding and defense for our team while also being able to score the basket and looks like a valuable asset.</p><p> </p><p>

Edgar is a decent player for us. Overall not anything too big to talk about on the offensive side of the ball, but provides solid play at the 4 and gives us some time to maneuver around perhaps for a better big man down the line?</p><p> </p><p>

A bench player who provides great offensive rebound and some great steals this season and hopefully anchors down our defense even more.</p><p> </p><p>

Terry won't start at the three, but will get some time off the bench with his great defense and his rough play that will hopefully keep our second unit able to keep up with the great bench play we will need all season. </p><p> </p><p>

Our secondary star offensive player, but I'm not looking to keep Kelly and probably move him on with the depth at the three that we currently have and look towards a more defensive big man to use. </p><p> </p><p>

Greg is another backup with a great future on the bench and able to help us achieve our future ambitions in the NBA here hopefully. </p><p> </p><p>

A bench player with not much going for him except he isn't terrible. Gonna let him live and get on pretty much.</p><p> </p><p>

Jeff is a bench player who you can expect to be leaving the team within the next year or two.</p><p> </p><p>

A star player and a Detroit graduate. Long will be a great player who I will not be keeping as his defense doesn't meet my standards nor will it help us get past Bird and the Celtics or Magic and The Lakers. </p><p> </p><p>

Great bench player who I will make full use of his stealing ability and hopefully keep the game in plan and such. </p><p> </p><p>

Our star player and I hope to keep IT here in a Pistons uniform for the rest of his career. The Start of our dynasty begins here and we will build around him here. He is without a flaw except for his size which we will try to exploit. </p><p> </p><p>
