Really enjoying this diary and really enjoying your insight into the process of popularity growth of your workers and nice to know that I wasn't the only sitting there thinking for ages that my workers would never shift from 17 or 18 pop...

Same here, I always felt as if I was playing the game wrong because my workers would never really gain popularity when playing as a smaller company. A lot of times they would just remain stagnant and it would annoy me.

The thought process post at the end of the show is the highlight of the diary because I love to see why Zergon made the moves he did. I like the in depth analysis of the roster and roster moves and the logic behind them.

Thank you both for your kind words. Just like you, I´m also relieved to hear that I´m not the only one having hard time getting past 17 popularity and I have certainly dropped saves in the past just because I have gotten frustrated about not getting any progress on the popularity front.

Also good to hear that post show thoughts are liked as I´m particularly interested myself to talk/hear about booking decisions and learning why people book certain ways so it´s nice to hear I´m not the only one who likes that either. :)

Roster Moves:

New Signings:

With ESE getting to small we needed some new blood and I decided to hire 4 new guys (technically game would have let me pass with just 2 since Jolson and Seth are still in the roster but I wanted to expand to 16 actual roster members). With me still trying desperately not to lose money (spoiler alert, not going to happen any time soon), I decided to hire cheap guys for this round meaning most of the guys are rookies. Everyone here got two years contract with no travel costs being paid. All four were unemployed at this time

Hurakan

Age: 19

Popularity in USA: F-

Heel, Cartoon Joker

Hurakan was actually meant to be G-Force but he was signed by FCW about a month ago so I picked Hurakan instead. At some point, I would like to see if I could get cruiserweight/luchador pushed into midcard position despite the product not suiting them but Hurakan is unlikely to be that guy and he will likely follow similar career path here than what Kid Fantastic had. Hurakan have had six independence matches in Mexico with average rating being E (5 of the six matches scored that with last one being E-) before joining us so based on that, I don´t expect him to perform any better than other jobber guys that have been part of ESE so far. He agreed to work with 200$ per show.

nVl3Zfp.jpg

Jazz Funk

Age: 33

Popularity in USA: F-

Face, Blue Collar

Funk is by far the most experienced guy I brought in with this group and he´s better known as a result. Unfortunately, that better known pretty much means I know he´s not any good (and being Cruiserweight again) and will likely perform on similar level than Mad Dog Mortimer or Rex Reeves. That said, that´s all I ask from him and he isn´t expected to get any pushes. There doesn´t seem to be any Canadian independence groups out there as Funk, just like Drury, haven´t had a single match after the game started. Jazz signed for 300$ per show and he got Blue Collar gimmick mainly because Garry already had Jazz´s default Bubbly Bacyface gimmick.

pWR0ou8.jpg

Jules Night

Age: 20

Popularity in USA: F-

Face, Machine

Jules is someone that I have actually looked to bring in for some time, not for any other particular reason than him being cheap (and me not knowing about skipping travel costs, thus leaving me to look American based talent). Night is technician instead of cruiserweight/luchador and that alone gives him slighly better chance of succeeding here but the expectation is that he will be another jobber. Night have had five matches in Independence scene so far with average rating being E. Jules signed for 260$ per show and will use his default gimmick. Jules also shows up on the show stopper and ring general lists which is always a plus in my books.

Texas Hangman

Age: 19

Popularity in USA: F-

Heel, Crusher

Yet another rookie, Hangman is the one guy out of this group who I could potentially see rising higher on the card (guess it´s not that big of a suprise with being the only heavyweight of the group). That said, he has to prove his worth first and he´s only independence match (F+ against Jules Night by the way, it´s also Night´s worst match to date) doesn´t promise good things just yet but hopefully he´s skills will develop with me so that he can at the very least get job elsewhere if he doesn´t work for us. As with everyone else hired on this round, he´s expected to fill the lower card on a jobber role for time being. Hangman was the cheapest of the four guys signing with ust 160$ per show and he got Crusher gimmick because of course I put big heavyweight heels into brute gimmicks.

For whatever reason, I have took liking to his alt and signed him because of that... yeah, no idea why I like it but I do so might as well roll with it.

That said, the answer for what he can do for me or what I can do with him is likely "not much" but at least he have a job now. Then again, I did say same about Garry and he´s actually become a solid midcard guy on my roster so you never know what could happen if stars align the right way.

Regular Joe & Freedom Eagle vs. Texas Hangman & Mad Dog Mortimer

In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Freedom Eagle and Regular Joe defeated Texas Hangman and Mad Dog Mortimer in 6:33 when Regular Joe defeated Mad Dog Mortimer by pinfall with a Joe And Behold.

Regular Joe carried the match in terms of in-ring performance.

Notes: Hangman debuted with Crusher gimmick with initial rating being Very good.

Performance: Joe: D-, Eagle: E, Hangman: F+, Mortimer: E-

WINNERS: Regular Joe & Freedom Eagle by pinfall in 6:33 E+

ANGLE:

M9kMTmh.jpg02tjC91.jpg

After his match, Joe stays on the ring and issues a challenge for Whitehorse Whittaker on another match, stating that they are 1-1 now and that the wants another shot to stop the big bully. Whitehorse comes to ringside and agrees on rematch, telling Joe that he will beat him down again, and this time, if Joe is smart he will stay down. D-

Jazz Funk vs. Austin Smooth

In a poor match, Austin Smooth defeated Jazz Funk in 6:03 by pinfall with a Fireman's Carry Cutter.

Notes: Funk debuted Blue Collar gimmick with above average rating.

Performance: Funk: F, Smooth: D+

WINNER: Austin Smooth by submission in 6:03 D-

ANGLE:

bsGXr0s.jpgvvyWO0h.jpg

Smooth doesn´t get time to celebrate as Silencer comes into ringside and informs Smooth that he´s days as a champion are nearing the end as ESE´s management has seen that Silencer does deserve another shot for the belt after his tag win over Smooth in last show and that the match is going to be next month. Smooth isn´t happy about this and throws a temper tantrum in-ring but there´s nothing he can do about it as the management has spoken. D+

Garry The Entertainer vs. Outlaw Wes Revell

In a decent match, Outlaw Wes Revell defeated Garry The Entertainer in 7:32 by pinfall.

Notes: -

Performance: Garry: D-, Revell: E+

WINNER: Outlaw Wes Revell by pinfall in 7:32 D-

ANGLE:

R4wPrpL.jpg1OOBqpp.jpg

Quentin Queen comes into ringside after Revell´s match and tells him that his tired of the sneak attacks Revell has used and it´s time to Revell to make his stand in the ring. Revell agrees on match, saying that it´s indeed time to collect his bounty and that Queen is going to make him a rich man. D-

The Silencer vs. Cobra

In a decent match, The Silencer defeated Cobra in 9:37 by pinfall with a Drop Zone.

Notes: -

Performance: Silencer: D+, Cobra: D-

WINNER: The Silencer by pinfall in 9:37 D+

Show Rating: E+

Comments: This was typical "before the big show" show where none of the main storyline guys didn´t clash with each other´s. I put Cobra and Silencer into main event to ensure good rating there and otherwise made sure that one half of the feuding pairs were in other matches in order to set angles after the match (I try to have all the angles happen in ring because I would assume backstage segment wouldn´t happen in shows this small). I decided to keep the time on the show same mostly because I still try to get myself on black finances wise and extra time would mean extra money lost but I think I have to soon just accept the fact that I need to add extra matches in from the usual 4 - 5 as too many guys will be left unused otherwise. Revell got a win over Garry in hopes of pushing Revell back to 18 popularity while I wanted to try Joe and Eagle as a tag team since I´m considering of making them as one in the future (although that plan might never happen considering what happened before the show, more on that little later), also Mortimer was there just for the off chance that it would help Joe push up back to 18 (plus Morty needed to be on the card after missing out on last two shows). Smooth over Jazz was basically filler and way to introduce one of the new signings.

Freedom Eagle decided that it was a good time to cause problems by being obnoxious and beating Brett Graveson after the fight broke between the two. I gave him a fine on that one and he was very unhappy about it and became negative influence. If he continues to act like that I have no calms on dropping him espesially since he has failed to produce the ratings I hoped he could so he´s on very thin ice for now on and I will likely push Garry over Eagle as my new number four face as a result. Our competition did rise their production values even more so we are behind in all areas and that shows on our show rating pretty badly at the moment. I might need to just accept taking extra losses espesially since I would also like to use more guys on each show but lets first see how finances show after this month before making a decision on that. I praised Smooth and Silencer because how could I not? I was thinking about just yelling at Eagle but decided to give him a chance still and paised Cobra instead for being other half of a great main event and first ever D+ rated match in ESE´s history. Mortimer also complained about his recent booking, I guess the game still haven´t got the memo that he´s a jobber.

Anyway, here´s the current popularity chart:

main event: Smooth: 28, Queen: 20, Seth: 19, Silencer: 22

upper midcard: Cobra: 18, Jolson: 18, Revell: 18, Whittaker: 20

midcard: Deuce: 9, Eagle: 16, Garry: 16, Mortimer: 17, Joe: 17

lower midcard: Funk: 6, Night: 0, Drury: 3, Hangman: 4

Opener: Hurukan: 0

Smooth gained 4 points but that has more to do with the fact that he´s actually starting to get regular work in FCW. Still, it can only help us so I´m happy on that regardless of why it is he gains popularity. Silencer gaining point from the main event was really nice and Revell also gained one as expected. Garry dropped to 16 as expected but he should get it back in next show while some of the lower card guys got a few points as well. On finances side, we still made 1 056$ loss. After looking on the production values, I decided that some upgrades were necasserily in order to make sure we continue to rise (out last show had best main match we ever produced as main event and still the show only scored E+ and while that still was enough to push our popularity up a bit I would like to see bigger gains if possible) so I upgraded production values to amateur and music to generic. This will add extra 750$ on expenses and we still take penalties all around out but least we level now with PWMAX and MAW on everything and mostly are on even level with IPW (except broadcast quality) and level with GSW with broadcast quality despite losing elsewhere else. The big problem is RIPW who continues to beat us (and everyone else meaning that they must beat us at least by 2 levels on each category) everywhere but that´s just something I have to accept. Also, this change will mean that I will keep the show at 1 hour for at least additional month.

<p>Another good show and nice to see you starting to break away from the horrible 17/18 overness barrier... But that penalty for lower production values than rivals is a horrible one... And with RIPW about it always seems to hit, it is one of the things that frustrates me the most when playing as a small company...</p><p>

Shame about freedom eagle been difficult but there are plenty of replacements out there to work with... With Austin smooth finally been used by FCW hopefully you can pass some of that overness on to your other workers.</p>

<p>Of course still keeping an eye on this one Zergon. Excellent project as always. Smooth is a favourite of mine and he's been good for you here too. I've not used your other maine eventers all that much other than Queen and I've seen him become a fine midcsrder in the big promotions before but that wasn't until well into the 2020's. </p><p> </p><p>

Many kudos to you for running with less talented guys than you did in your initial 2013 run. Smooth is really the only home run guy you have here. Hope this one is as long as that one. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

D+</p><p> </p><p> Show Rating: E+</p><p> </p><p> Comments: Well, seems like the extra spending didn´t do anything for show ratings as we still got the same penalties. Maybe it would had been better to upgrade one of the production values up to best rivals one instead of upgrading two differend ones slightly, then again, we are still at least two steps behind RIPW everywhere so guess I have to settle taking the penalties for now. Not certain if I should just downgrade the ones I upped but decided to keep them the same for now on as at least we are even with other rivals. Booking wise, this one was heavy on matches simply because it was a feud ending show so all the talking was done before hand and new storylines wouldn´t start until next show. I did consider putting belt on Silencer here as he would had been the best face to carry the belt but I have other guy in mind for that as there´s two guys currently in roster that have won every single feud they have had so far (Smooth and Queen) and I feel that it´s time to put the two of them against each other´s, hence Queen and Smooth both winning their feuds here. Whitehorse got his win for two reasons, first of all, Joe is falling bit more of an midcard spot now that both Silencer and Queen are ahead of him while Whitehorse would essentially be number two heel behind Smooth at the moment (although I wonder how long I can keep myself on pushing Cobra there) and thus a logical challenger for next face champ while Joe already feuded with Smooth little while ago meaning that giving Whitehorse the win felt better idea. On other matches, I paired Cobra and Hangman together mainly because I have been considering making a stable around Cobra and if done so, Hangman could be one of the underlings so wanted to check if the two had any tag chemistry, and there was indeed chemistry in that match but unfortunately it was with Deuce and Eagle and with Eagle currently in dog house thansk to his behavior last month and Deuce being pretty much bottom at the barrel by default, I don´t see much use for that note although I guess they could make decent jobber team if Eagle gets his act together. </p><p> </p><p> I also wanted to give Garry and Drury wins here so that´s why other matches were booked as they were, Drury haven´t performed yet but it might be just ring rust (remember, he haven´t had a single match since 2016 started) so I´m still hoping he starts to perform bit better (as I wanted him to fill similar role than Garry/Eagle on the heel side but current ratings doesn´t justify even that kind of push). I praised Smooth, Cobra and Whittaker at the end of the show, first two have been carrying the ratings for long time and I felt that Whittaker outperforming Regular Joe deserved a praise as well so I picked him over Silencer on the last spot since I expect Silencer to be in the contention each and every night with him being the third guy alongside Smooth and Cobra that I trust putting on great ratings. </p><p> </p><p> main event: Smooth: 28, Queen: 20, Seth: 19, Silencer: 23 </p><p> upper midcard: Cobra: 19, Jolson: 18, Revell: 18, Whittaker: 20</p><p> midcard: Deuce: 8, Eagle: 17, Garry: 17, Mortimer: 17, Joe: 17 </p><p> lower midcard: Hurukan: 4, Funk: 8, Drury: 5, Hangman: 6</p><p> Opener: Night: 3</p><p> </p><p> Silencer got a point on a loss which is always nice, Cobra also got a point from the tag win which was bit unexpected as that wasn´t a great match. Garry and Eagle both gained a point pushing them to 17 while Deuce lost a point (not a big deal). All new guys gained at least two points as well so good day for popularity perspective overall. With using full roster and adding production values, finances shot back to 2 919$ loss. I´m wondering if I should lower down production values once again (since I´m not certain if upping them actually did anything), but I also kind of want to keep them there just because they are now same than with most other companies on my area. I think on that a bit more but at the moment, I believe I´m keeping those were they are now just so that I can say that I´m at least matching most non RIPW promotions and just accept the fact that I will be working on profit loss quite a while longer.</p><p> </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p>

Austin Smooth starts the show by typical fashion, praising himself and telling how wonderful he is. Despite him being high on himself, it´s hard to argue his track record as he had beaten every single opponent who has come to his way and that is quite nice list including names like Seth Whitehead, Regular Joe and The Silencer. Smooth tells audience that it´s obvious that no-one could beat him by now and that he has beaten every single creditable challenger by now. That´s were he´s interrupted as Quentin Queen comes to ringside and remind Smooth that he haven´t beaten him and in fact, the only time they fought so far, it was Queen who walked away as winner, although Queen readily admits that Smooth was distracted by outside interference there so it wasn´t a clean win. And while Smooth indeed has impressive array of opponents who he has defeated, Queen himself has also beaten every opponent who came to his way, including Cobra, Mad Dog Mortimer and Outlaw Wes Revell and now it´s time to see which one of the two of them will continue undefeated as Queen challengers Smooth for a title match. Smooth doesn´t seem happy about this but even he has to admit that Queen has indeed defeated his opponents and while they aren´t on the same caliber than Smooth and the guys he´s beaten, he knows that ESE´s incompetend authorities would ok the match regardless of what he says so Queen best kiss his win streak good bye because Smooth is going to pin him in the title match 1 - 2 - 3 and prove again that he is the greatest wrestlers in ESE. Drury comes to ring to complain his loss against Eagle, complaining that Eagle almost broke his nose and messed his ravishing looks and that ESE´s officials should ban Eagle for that. Cowboy Wes Revell comes to ring and tells Kirk that he should know that officials wouldn´t do a thing to that but if Kirk wants to right the wrong done to him, Revell is willing to do so, for a right prize of course. Kirk likes the idea but wonders if Revell´s is up on the task, after all he did fail to deliver with his last contract. Revell admits that Quentin Queen indeed proved to be better gunslinger but that´s exactly why he came here to offer his servises as he needs to redeem himself and as such, he´s willing to take this bounty for half of the prize and Kirk even gets a free preview next month as he and Revell could tag against Eagle and whoever would be stupid enough to team with him. Kirk likes what he´s hearing and tells Revell that he has a deal and that he will look forward on watching Eagle getting his punisment for messing up with Kirk´s looks. E

Notes:

Performance: Garry: D-, Smooth: D+

WINNER: Austin Smooth by pinfall in 12:02 D

Show Rating: E+

Comments: This was a filler show so I take the E+ with all the production penalties we currently got. It´s likely going to stay this way for a while but hopefully we can start getting back to D- range once the new guys have gained bit more experience and popularity and thus hopefully could help to produce bit better undercard matches. Booking wise, this show was mostly there to set up the next three feuds with Smooth vs. Queen being the main one as those two have been the top two guys so far in terms of feud wins with both being on the winning side three times (out of three feuds they have been in). Other than that, Joe against Cobra is a a feud that I expect decent results as well while Eagle against Revell is less likely to deliver and with Eagle´s additude problems, it´s likely not hard to tell who I plan to win this feud (at least currently, things can always change). I also decided to throw Drury and Deuce in this feud (on support roles), mostly because I needed reason for Revell to go against Eagle and it would have felt odd if the guy who hired Revell wouldn´t show up at all and since two against one ain´t exactly what I had on mind (after all the current idea is to push Revell not Eagle), I threw Deuce in there as well to even the odds mainly because he had that good tag chemistry with Eagle so I figured I might as well have them tag once or twice during this. Other than that, I mainly wanted to make sure to use as many of the new signings as possible in order to help raise their popularity a bit while established guys got some momentum building wins on newbies expense. Austin vs. Garry was a main event that I could expect to deliver and it shouldn´t hurt Garry at all (in fact, I hope he gains popularity out from that). I praised Smooth, Garry and Whittaker after the show as they were really the only guys who performed well tonight with everyone else being either slight disappointment or performing as expected. Queen´s gimmick was tweaked after the show as well.

main event: Smooth: 28, Queen: 20, Seth: 19, Silencer: 23

upper midcard: Cobra: 19, Jolson: 18, Revell: 18, Whittaker: 20

midcard: Eagle: 17, Garry: 17, Funk: 10, Mortimer: 17, Joe: 17

lower midcard: Deuce: 8, Hurukan: 6, Drury: 7, Hangman: 8

Opener: Night: 6

This show didn´t change popularities (nor was it expected to do so though Garry not gaining a point was a slight disappoinment) outside of guys still climbing into 17 range all gaining 2 - 3 points as usual. On financical side, we took $1 622 loss this time around, which isn´t too bad but you have to remember that Mortimer, Silencer nor Deuce weren´t used at all so that explains why expences were slighly lower than month before.

<p>Not gonna lie there, Zergon, Garry did wayyyy better in the main event then I thought he would. Hell, he isn't exactly known for his stellar in ring work, and even if you look at his last three performances, you get two E+'s and a D-. with his match ratings being the same. I see this as Austin really showing he can have a good match with anybody, it's impressive. </p><p> </p><p>

Little sad Joe took the L from Whittaker last time out, just cause I like Joe. Glad he got a W against the jobber this time though, glad himself and Cobra look to be on their way into a program, two guys I like a lot. </p><p> </p><p>

Think The Silencer's absence was felt here, even if Garry did a great job in the main event. Not sure Queen will deliver against Smooth, though with how good Smooth is he might bring Queen up a few points of pop. What's Smooth's skills looking like 2 and a half years later? His promo skills must be alright, getting a D+ rated angle with Queen, who even after two and a half years of improvement can't be any better than a mediocre promo. His recent ratings with Revell of D- kind of prove that.</p>

I actually ended up talking about Garry a lot in the post show on this card so some of this will be repeated back there but I´m pretty certain that Garry got a great destiny roll on this save as he´s showing up everywhere on the creative meating, being only next big things, 1st on hot prospects, only guy in talk the talk, first on show stoppers and second only after Joe in ring generals. That said, those list ain´t everything since neither Smooth nor Silencer ain´t anywere to be seen other than franchise players and event there, Smooth is dead last behind Silencer, Seth Whitehead and Quentin Queen.

And while it´s true that Garry´s personal performance in matches have been around E+ and D-, same can be said on pretty much every main player I have outside of Smooth and Silencer, with Cobra being the only one else who frequently get better than E+ as his rating (and even him usually just gets D- with occasional D) so it´s not like Garry´s performance is worse than my other top guys.

Joe is admittedly on bit of a rough spot at the moment as he´s my most expensive guy and he just haven´t performed quite as well as I hoped and so he´s currrently used to help build up Whittaker and now Cobra who I´m hoping to push into main event scene. That said, I do hope to keep Joe if I can affort him but his going to get more of a midcard role which I think suits him better than the main event spot he filled at the beginning. Cobra, as I have said before, is my favorite guy so far from this diary and I finally hope to build him up for the main event spot that he´s shown he deserves.

Queen is indeed a step down compered to Silencer so ratings are going to be bit lower and like Joe, Queen haven´t quite managed to get constantly good ratings. That said, I still plan to push him as main event player as one of the best things on running promotion this small is that pretty much anyone can be main eventer and I specifically choice a location where I wouldn´t suffer from regional battles in order to get more freedom for my booking. As for Smooth´s stats, I always play with fog of war on so here´s what I see.

Well, that isn´t particularly informative so here´s the stats with fog of war turned off:

Sounds like someone ain´t going to be happy about an incoming roster move. :D

Eagle comes into ring before the tag match with Dustin Deuce who Eagle informs will be his tag partner against Drury and Revell. Eagle also tells that he can´t understand why Drury wants to send a hitman after him after losing a match clean but that if they want to play that way then Eagle is ready to fight and Revell will find out that Eagle is not an easy target because he will fight not just for himself but to upheld American values and hiring other´s to do your dirty work is most certainly not the American way. He also thanks Deuce on standing beside him tonight against the heel pair. Deuce declares that no thanks is necassery as just like Eagle, he fights against crooks where ever he finds ones and tonight, they are going to kick a wannabe cowboy and a pretty boy back were they came from. Outlaw Wes Revell carried the match in terms of in-ring performance.

After his match, Joe takes a microphone and demands Cobra into rinside to answer why he attacked Joe in last show. Cobra does show up and explains that he simply did what snakes always do. Strike when the time is right and right now, it´s right time for him to target Joe because let´s face it, Joe is going downhill after losing his belt as now it´s time for Cobra to both avenge his losses tha he suffered to Joe back in 2016 and to make a name for himself by destroying former champion before Joe´s fame completely vanishes do to his poor performance. Joe doesn´t take this explains well, telling Cobra that if he thinks that Joe is weak and that he can be used as stepping stone then he´s going to have a hard awakening in front of him. Cobra doesn´t seem frightened, simply pointing out that that´s exactly what Joe said to Whittaker and Smooth and Joe still ended up looking arena lights when everything was said and done so does Joe really expect differend results this time? Joe seems slighly hesitant, like his doubting a bit if Cobra could be right but answers that yes, he does expect things to chance and beating Cobra could well be just the thing to set Joe back up again. Show Rating: E+

Comments: Regular Joe lifted up the mood before the show by organizing and winning a video game tournament. The main and semi-main delivered but undercard was slighly disappointing, although that is to be expected with the current roster. Eagle didn´t do any favors for himself by phoning his performance, I´m not going to react on that but any chance he has to become anything else than a jobber is pretty much gone by now so expect him to put Revell over on the current storyline and while he´s going to get few wins over other jobbers just because of him currently being in a storyline, once that´s over he´s going to be on job duty until he´s contract runs out and I can kick him out. The main event was obviously stagged with likely my best (or at least most over) guys in one match. Queen and Silencer got the win mostly to put Queen over Smooth before an eventual title match but also because I hoped to spread Smooth´s popularity to not only Queen but also to Silencer. I would have wanted to have someone less over than Whittaker on second heel spot but I had already decided that Revell would be in the other tag match (as the angle told in last show) and wanted Cobra to be elsewhere on the card and not be on the losing side. Other heels just didn´t have populairty or skills to hang in the main event so Whittaker was the only available guy who I trusted enough to put into main even spot. Hopefully his popularity ain´t hurt by taking the fall there but he was slighly unhappy on taking the fall so I´d assume he´s popularity is going to take a hit. Other than that, the second tag match was the first match I decided on this card back when making the last card so that was going to be locked. On other three matches, I simply wanted to give wins to other top guys, namely Joe, Cobra and Garry, the latter who is quickly rising from jobber to at least upper midcard guy as Garry recently broke into both show stopper (top spot over Queen who also recently got into same list) and ring general (second after just Regular Joe) lists while still being the only guy in talk the talk and next big thing lists. I forgot that Garry and Mortimer had bad chemistry with each other´s but decided to have the match anyway when the game reminded me as pushing Garry to 18 popularity sounded like a good idea. I praised Cobra, Night and Silencer this time, Cobra and Silencer for their usual awesome performance and Night for being able to hang with Cobra out there and delivering pretty good semi main event on our standards.

main event: Smooth: 27, Queen: 22, Seth: 19, Silencer: 24

upper midcard: Cobra: 19, Jolson: 18, Revell: 18, Whittaker: 17

midcard: Eagle: 17, Garry: 17, Drury: 9, Mortimer: 17, Joe: 17

lower midcard: Deuce: 10, Funk: 10, Night: 8, Hangman: 8

Opener: Hurakan: 8

Smooth dropping a point was expected and made up by Queen gaining 2 points and Silencer gaining one. That said, Whittaker dropping from 20 all the way back to 17 certainly hurted him and getting back up there takes a lot of time. Garry not gaining a point was also a disappointment but then again, Mortimer didn´t lose a point either. On finances, I lost 2 216$ this time around

After his match, Silencer takes a microphone and tells audience that he needs to regroup and go back to bootcamp after failing to achive he´s mission objectives last time when he failed to beat Smooth. But while a battle was lost, war still rages on and he will be getting more training by beating everyone who come to his path in order to become stronger and meaner than before and he´s mission is still the same than before, target the King of the Network belt and bring it home as a spoils of war. Comments: The main even was obviously big match and the end result might have been bit surprising. Not that Queen winning the belt itself is a surprise, I believe that everyone saw that coming when Silencer didn´t get the belt but the timing might be a bit of a surprise. The main reason why I think timing was a bit unnormal was that I usually have three 1 vs. 1 matches during a feud (as most of you have no doubt figured out by now) and that wins tend to go 2 -1 (in cases were the belt is meant to change owner) so logical thing would be to give Smooth the first win. That is my usual MO but occasionally there´s a need to change the format a bit in order to avoid being too easy to read and I have certain reasons to book this feud the way I did but we will talk on that more a bit later as talking it now would likely reveal too much. As for Queen getting the belt, he haven´t been top performer in a way that Smooth or Silencer have been so most logical thing would have been giving the belt to Silencer but Queen and Smooth both being "undefeated" (in terms of storyline ending matches both have obviously lost multiple matches during their ESE careers) was too good of a storyline to pass and Queen was one of the original top three and with Joe and Smooth already being champs, it made sense to me to give the belt to Queen next. Also. as good as Silencer is, I still see him as a new guy and I´d like my champion to be someone who has already been in the company for some time (again, this is a rule that I could occasinally break for the same reason I broke my usual "champ wins the first encounter" rule). </p><p> </p><p>

On other matches, Eagle lost to Whittakar mostly to get Whittaker back to 18 popullarity while the interference forwards the actual storyline. Joe over Cobra was a bit painful to do, mostly because I figure that Joe is only going to gain one point while Cobra will no doubt drop to 17 again but the storyline I had on mind works best this way so the likely popularity loss just have to be taken. Silencer got some promo time mainly because two out of the three feuds were progressed with matches while Garry got another win in order to try to get his momentum up (it was still minor negative) while other participants on the tag match were mostly there just to gain some popularity although I made sure that I threw both Deuce and Kirk in there with them being in the same storyline just to have them being bit more part of it by clashing with each other´s as well. I praised Silencer, Smooth and complimented Hangman after the show, the first two because they were awesome as usual (and Smooth lost without complain and made a lot better work than Queen) while Hangman got a nob simply by being on the other side of a D rated undercard match even if Silencer did most of the work there. Eagle also decided to phone his performance again and I´m really tempted to just fire him at the spot but I will at least have him put Revell over on the next show and then decide if I´m done with him or if I just want to job him to everyone until he gets the point and leaves by his own accord. Either way, he´s not staying for long and I´m seriously questioning if I should continue his storyline with Revell past the next show.</p><p> </p><p>

main event: Smooth: 23, Queen: 24, Seth: 19, Silencer: 24 </p><p>

upper midcard: Jolson: 18, Revell: 18, Joe: 18, Whittaker: 17</p><p>

midcard: Cobra: 17 Eagle: 17, Garry: 17, Drury:11, Mortimer: 17, </p><p>

lower midcard: Deuce: 12, Hurakan: 10, Funk: 10, Hangman: 11</p><p>

Opener: Night: 8 </p><p> </p><p>

Smooth lost 4 points which is a huge drop but not completely unexpected (and makes the fact that he didn´t complain about the loss that much more meaningful). Queen gained two points so not a good trade off but again, it´s about what I expected based on how popularity drops/gains have worked for me so far during this save. Joe gained a point while Cobra lost two so it´s the same story than with Smooth and Queen while Whittaker sadly didn´t get anything from beating Eagle. Hangman gained three points, while Hurakan, Deuce and Drury all gained two points.</p><p> </p><p>

In terms of roster update, I decided to pull the trigger and sign two new guys into my roster. Main reason for this was that with the production penalties and loss of Seth Whitehead (yeah, I call it a loss and no, I´m not changing the date to hold the shows just to get him back), I have suddenly started to have a feeling that I have too few guys that I could trust to deliver ratings now that even D+ main events only result into E+ show ratings. However, at the same time, I´m still would like to stop losing money (not happening anytime soon but it´s good to have goals, right?) so new guys would need to be cheap as well, not an easy thing to do but I did found one gem and another guy who I have some hope as well. On finances side, we lost 1786$ this month. On contract news, Cobra was signed by PSW, bit bad timing as you can see from next post but luckily PSW hold shows on Friday week 3 only once during a year (April) so I still have him 11 out of 12 months. On a flip side, it´s always nice to see that your talent gets signed elsewhere as I do view that as proof that I´m doing something right and that exposure wrestlers gain with me is actually helping them on their careers. Speaking of contract, Smooth also signed a contract extension with FCW.</p></div><p></p><p></p>

Logan Wolfsbaine</p><p>

Age: 22</p><p>

Popularity in USA: F- (E in Tri States and F+ in spill over areas but F- in other´s including Puerto Rico)</p><p>

Heel, Enforcer</p><p>

So, you say that I can get 22 years old guy who scouts as strong on everything and is a good backstage influence for just 400$ per show? Yeah, sign me up please (for three years). Logan was let go by PSW at Match 2018 and somehow no-one haven´t signed him yet so I finally pulled the trigger on signing him. Not having much earlier experience on him but he seems almost Silencer level steal and is ten years younger too, the only down side is that he has no popularity so it takes a bit of time for him to catch up but there had to be some flaw for this bargain. Logan will work as heel and I plan to pair him with Texas Hangman for the time being and have both of them work with Cobra who´s finally going to get his stable that I have planned for him for a long time. While plan is to pair Logan with Hangman at the moment, I fully expect him to outgrow the team (and the stable) at some point and the expection is that Logan would eventually be singles wrestler and likely main eventer (assuming he doesn´t get stolen which he likely will at some point). However, that´s for the future, right now he will be a henchman and low popularity means he has some catching up to do even compered to other low card guys.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Nate DeMarcus</p><p>

Age: 24</p><p>

Popularity in USA: F+ (E- in Mid Atlantic)</p><p>

Face, Happy-Go-Lucky</p><p>

Nate ain´t as big of a deal compered to Logan but still looks to be solid with D average on his matches in MAW before being released in June 2017 and can hopefully help my midcard to deliver better ratings. His intependence work has been far less great with E+ match average but that still ok ratings in our standards so here´s hoping. DeMarcus asked 600$ per show and while that is a decently high prize to pay compered to some other roster members, I´m willing to do that and signed him for two years. Plan is to pair Nate with Garry The Entertainer as happy-go-lucky team that hopefully could become one of the corner stones for (hopefully) eventual tag division but we see how that goes.</p><p>

<p>Little bit shocked to see you move on from Smooth as champ, especially with how Queen has performed. I guess we'll have to wait and see what he can do but I do have a feeling you might need to get heels other than Smooth to fight him cause right now, nobody is putting on a D+ match with him except Smooth, Cobra could probably get close though. </p><p> </p><p>

Do think letting Seth go would be a pretty good idea if you can't use him. Then using the money you would be spending on him to get somebody talented and over to be a main event heel. Maybe you go get talent who were in your old ESE diary in Doug Peak or C.H Threepwood, though they could be expensive. </p><p> </p><p>

Good signings as well, Logan can be a fine worker and Nate has potential. I'd look more at Logan then Nate to be a future star though.</p>

I probably could use another top heel but at least currently I´m not looking to add guys as I´m quite happy with current group (I´m currently at the end of 2018 and there´s still bit of roster shakeup ahead between now and end of the year so the roster is slighly differend than the one you see right now). Whittaker and Cobra are the two I´m currently looking to feud with Queen once the feud with Smooth is over. I know Queen vs. Whittaker ain´t going ot be great rating wise but I feel that it would still be serviable feud.</p><p> </p><p> Logan is almost certainly going to be bigger star in the future once he catches up on popularity but at least currently I feel tha Nate is going to be important piece as well, although more likely on the the tag team side rather than singles star.</p>

Show starts with Cobra, Texas Hangman, and third guy who´s quickly identified as Logan Wolfsbaine in the ring. Cobra does the talking for the trio, telling audience that he has been a loner for all his life and that´s what he would prefer as snakes need no company, but nature often forces you to adapt into differend conditions or becoming extinct and that´s what he´s doing here. You see, he did thought that Regular Joe was done for, that he had been beaten and that all that was needed was to give a mercy kill but he failed to do that as when cornered, even less dangerous creatures could put up a big fight. So, while pontering his loss he has come into conclusion that while snakes do prefer to work alone, he needs to set that aside and steal a page from books of other predators like wolfs and lions who always hunt in packs. For that end, he started to search other likely minded souls, fellow predators who are hungry for success and he did found two. For this day forward, the trio will be known simply as Predators because that´s what they are, and they declare hunting season to open with Regular Joe being their first prey. E+</p><p> </p><p>

Comments: Well, we still got the same E+ even though our matches weren´t great. Booking wise, the firs thing I booked on this was the Revell vs. Eagle match which I very much expected to be Eagle´s last as I expect him to no-sell again and plan to call him out on a post show and fire him after I have told him he couldn´t sell ice cream in Sahara with his selling skills but of course he decided to behave this show so I had no good reason to fire him and now I have to figure out what to do with him (also, American Elemental II who I planned to be the replament got signed into RIPW with development deal so it´s back to drawing board with this one). Eagle is still going to be out the next time he no-sells which I expect to happen soon but that just leaves the problem of what I do with the storyline between him and Revell since I can´t trust him to behave? Next match that was booked was the tag match as I wanted to check if Garry and Nate had any bad chemistry notes before pulling the trigger on them forming a team. At first I planned it to be dark match with Hangman and Wolfsbaine as opponents. Garry and Nate would have won thanks to them having higher popularity and that´s the main reason why I planned it to be a dark match as I felt it would hurt Predators if they instantly lose to essentially a random pairing. However, in the end, I decided to put the tag match into main show instead and replace Hangman and Wolfsbaine as whatever they have chemistry or not wouldn´t really affect my plans with them that much anyway. I also decided that I wanted Cobra to form his group straight at this show and that Logan should attack Joe in order to set a 1 vs. 1 match between the two soon (Logan and Hangman should had been also added into the storyline between Cobra and Joe but I forgot, they were added after the show). Opponents for Joe and in the tag match weren´t that important other than I knew that the three guys who were there were the ones I wanted to take the losses. Oddly enough, the main event (and the angle afterwards) was the last segments that I put into this card which is bit unusual but that´s just how the show worked with DeMarcus and Wolfsbaine´s addition into roster inspiring me to figure a way to debut them first while Eagle´s bad behavior made me to figure a way to wrap up the storyline so I can kick him out. Anyway, the main event itself was basically "the first defence" match so not much chance on title change there. Whitthorse was chosen as the opponent mainly by progress of elimination as since that match was a main event, it needed to be decently over performer and out of the four main heels, Revell was already on the card, Queen has simmering tension with Cobra (plus loss there wouldn´t be particularly impressive right after forming a new group) while Austin is the current feud partner and they just fought in last show so basically Whitthorse was the most logical opponent I could put there. I praised Revell, Queen and Smooth at the end, Revell for draging Eagle into watchable match and Queen and Smooth for their angle mainly because no-one else didn´t to anything above their current standards. Also, after the show I found out that Jazz Funk and Dana O´Hara don´t come along all that well, this is bad news for Funk as he´s more expentable out from the two.</p><p> </p><p>

Popularity check time again:</p><p>

main event: Smooth: 23, Queen: 24, Seth: 19, Silencer: 24 </p><p>

upper midcard: Jolson: 18, Revell: 18, Joe: 18, Whittaker: 17</p><p>

midcard: Cobra: 17, Eagle: 17, Garry: 17, Drury:13, Mortimer: 17, DeMarcus: 17</p><p>

lower midcard: Deuce: 12, Hurakan: 12, Funk: 10, Hangman: 11</p><p>

Opener: Night: 8, Wolfsbaine: 4</p><p> </p><p>

Can I note that I´m really starting to get tired of seeing Seth still on main event push despite him not tecnically working for us for bit over six month´s now? Sure way to make everyone realize that I´m not getting anywhere with popularity gains, isn´t it? Also, Smooth, Queen and Silencer being so far above anyone else makes me slighly uneasy as well since one loss to someone else would likely send them spiraling down all the way to 17 popularity while only benefiting point or two for the winner, thus essentially meaning that I shoudn´t put anyone over them unless I want to lose rest of the meager progress that I have managed to make. That aside, nothing really happened elsewhere with Drury and Hurukan being only ones that gained anything and those were pretty much given. Oh well, it´s not like I expected any popularity gains on this one either so no harm done. We also got more backstage troubles between this and next show as apperantly Jules Night and Cobra ain´t liking each other´s anymore... yeah, guess who´s going to leave is things turn sour (hint, it ain´t Cobra). On finances, it´s yet another 1219$ loss but at least we are managing ot keep the losses around 1000 - 2000$ range instead of the 3000 - 4000$ that they were not too long ago. On contract news, Mortimer´s contract is coming into end after next show and I don´t plan to offer him another one so his three year stay with us is at the end while on happier contract news, Kirk Drury got and signed and contract offer from FCW, potentially helping his career with us too (assuming they remember to use him every now and then.)</p><p>

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Nate DeMarcus defeated Mad Dog Mortimer in 6:28 by pinfall with a Snap Tackle.

Notes: DeMarcus was off his game

Performance: DeMarcus: E+, Mortimer: E-

WINNER: Nate DeMarcus by pinfall in 6:28 E

After his match, DeMarcus calls Garry into the ring. Garry does answer the call and DeMarcus tells Garry that they worked together really well last month and Garry felt like a friendly, fun loving person so he suggest that he and Garry should form a permanent team as it´s always more fun to have friends around. Garry agrees that it would be cool to have more friends than just his monkey but before he agrees, he needs to know if he´s monkey can join. Nate tells that of course the monkey can join, after all, the more the merrier right and hey, maybe the monkey could be their manager? Garry thinks that´s a great idea and the pair... or trio, goes backstage together chatting lively while they go. D

Before his match, Regular Joe comes into ringside and address Predators, telling that he have beaten both Cobra and Hangman before and will now prove that he gan beat Logan as well. And if Cobra things that bringing some goons to help him would make Joe scared, he´s wrong as while he is just an ordinary men, it is usually the ordinary men and women who will rise on the occasion when needed. So, while the numbers will be against him, he will continue to fight against Predators and will show the same determination and skills that made him the first ever King of the Network champion. Show Rating: E+

Comments: I decided to back bit more into this show than usual with 5 matches and three angles (was supposed to be three angles since there was ment to be an angle between Smooth and Queen after the main event were Smooth would tell that he cashes the rematch clause at next show but I forgot to book it thus not advancing the main storyline at all... idiot!), mainly because I want to give all of my guys exposure and some of them aren´t currently used all that much. I probably could extent the show for half an hour but that would mean extra expenses so right now, I´m staying with 1h shows mainly because it actually allows me to have longer shows anyway if I so decide. Crowd also expected more angles on the show... yeah no comments.

Other than my incompotence on following notes (quite salty on myself about missing that angle), I wanted Queen to get another good quality title defence under his belt before facing Smooth again. Smooth´s tag match was last addition on this card and was mainly done to give other three members bit of in-ring time, Smooth just happened to be available and was thrown in mostly in hopes that he would drag the rating up a bit (it was semi-main event after all). Other than that, job Freedom Eagle tour continued, this time with a tag loss and I really hoping he no-selled that match on purpose so I can get rid of him. And yes, I know I could get rid of him at any rate but I like to be fair so as long as he doesn´t have backstage incitend that warrants contract termination or clearly hurt the match ratings on purpose he´s staying on board. The problem is that he´s on a storyline (I´m really cursing myself on putting him there) and I don´t really want to end it as I feel that Revell needs to win a storyline (after all, why would anyone hire him if he just keeps losing?) but on the same time, I cannot trust Eagle to behave and thus I´m unwilling to make plans past the current show so right now (meaning it´s hard to do any set-up angles for bigger match or really to have any type of coherent storyline). This has curretly created a pattern were Revell have beaten (or distracted and caused a loss that way) Eagle each and every show and that just doesn´t do much storyline wise. Speaking of storylines, Joe and Logan made the obvious clash after last month´s attack this show, I was considering waiting a bit for that but decided that a) Logan doesn´t have enough popularity to be creditable threat to Joe right now and b) Cobra is still the main opponent for Joe so no need to milk a match against guy who´s essentially a henchman. DeMarcus against Mortimer was mainly there for the post show angle but also I´m hoping that DeMarcus could potentially get a point of overness by beating Morty. As for who to compliment after the show, I knew I wanted to compliment Joe as D is better than normal for his angles and the match was pretty good undercard match as well (ok, so Logan is pretty solid opponent but still). Other two were slighly harder but I decided to go with Queen and Cobra even though Smooth and Silencer did better and the main reason is that Smooth and Silncer are expected to be the top two every night and I praise them a lot already so wanting to give some other guys love as well. Both DeMarcus and Logan also worked well here and looks like they are able to fill the spots I planned for them, Deuce managing an E personal grade is also note worthy as is the fact that Eagle behaved once again.

main event: Smooth: 27, Queen: 24, Seth: 19, Silencer: 24

upper midcard: Jolson: 18, DeMarcus: 18, Revell: 18, Joe: 18,

midcard: Cobra: 17, Eagle: 17, Garry: 17, Drury:15, Mortimer: 16, Whittaker: 17

lower midcard: Deuce: 14, Hurakan: 12, Funk: 12, Hangman: 11

Opener: Night: 11, Wolfsbaine: 6

Smooth gained 4 points but don´t think for a second that has anything to do with my show, he did defeated Kentucky Bill in FCW which is the reason for this popularity jump, still nice to see progress even if I can´t claim any credit from that. DeMarcus did gain a point by beating Mortimer who lost one point but that´s the only positive gain there was outside of the usual "guys with less than 17 getting two points by default " (well, Night got three so guess that´s another positive). On the plus side, Mortimer losing popularity was the only loss as well so ok results overall I guess, I´m just slighly disappointed that Cobra didn´t gain anything from the three way, perhaps he would had if he wasn´t the one getting pinned? On finances side, it was another 2 704$ loss

Age: 41</p><p>

Record (in ESE): 1 - 0 - 5 (3 - 0 - 25)</p><p>

Average match Rating (in ESE): E+</p><p>

Mortimer did have longer run with me than what I initially expected and even had a highlight on being in a (very) short storyline with Quentin Queen back in 2017. That said, he was never in any danger to break out from the jobber ranks as he´s personal in-ring performance never got past E- mark and he didn´t get many changes on showing what he could do on microphone either (not that he´s skills promise any greatness on there either). Overall, I was reasonable happy with Mortimer and him leaving is more because I want to fresher the roster a bit rather than him doing anything wrong. Also, with Mortimer leaving, that means that half of the original roster of eight is now gone and that´s a landmark on it´s own (well, again, technically Jolson and Seth are still here) although not necessarily one I wanted to have this early. Despite not being on time decline yet, I don´t foresee much chance on Mortimer coming back so this is likely last you see him in this diary outside of the alumni posts.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Darryl Borgomeo</p><p>

Age: 21</p><p>

Popularity in USA: F-</p><p>

Heel, Biker</p><p>

As Darryl´s alt will no doubt tell, he´s regen of Johnny Martin. His in-ring and performance scouts as strong while Physican and Entertainment are both average. He´s average playing face and strong playing heel and is good locker room influence. And that´s pretty much all I know about him other than the fact that he have had two matches on independent scene, beating Natalie DiMarco on E- rated match in Septemper 2018 and then losing to Annihilus on F+ rated match a month later. So why hire him? Well, with Drury likely getting over simply by working with FCW and Wolfsbaine and Hangman being associated with Cobra and thus needing to stay decently strong, I´m quite certain that whoever replaces Mortimer ain´t going to get many wins so might as well hire untested rookie who can gain most out by just jobbing a few years while developing his skills. Another reason is that I wanted cheap talent and Darryl was willing to work with just 130$ per show (again, no travel cost either) so I decided to hire him for three years straight of the bat. Now, three years is likely year more than he should stay on momentum point of view but he´s cheap enough that I don´t mind whole lot and I always have room for guys who I don´t mind jobbing to other people. He´s changes on staying past the first three years are quite low though unless he somehow shoots up on the ranks similar than what Garry has done.</p><p>

Show starts with Smooth in the ring, claiming that he won´t speak long (that´s a first) because he´s way too awesome for this crowd. Smooth continues that tonight, he will right the wrong done to him and get back the King of the Network belt that was stolen from him by pretender named Quantin Queen. Smooth claims that Queen might have defied the odds once but lightning won´t strike twice and that Smooth will show once again why he´s the greatest wrestler in ESE and even the uneducated idiots (aka the crowd) will have to bow to his greatness again because he will be their champion as long as he chooses. WINNER: Austin Smooth by pinfall in 11:41 D+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Show Rating: D-</p><p> </p><p>

Comments: Well, somehow we managed D- despite all the penalties from production values and not having a particularly good undercard so I take it. Booking wise, lets take the main one down first, which is the main event. Now I´m usually fan of short title reigns and something between 7 - 9 defenses are usually the norm so why take a belt off from Queen so early? It actually doesn´t have anything to do with ratings as while Queen haven´t performed as well as Smooth and Silencer, I just can´t have those two have the belt all the time so someone else needs to carry it occasionally. The main reason reason for quick change is that I feel that there´s need to occasionally break your typical booking habits in order to not become too predictable. Not that there´s anything bad on being predictable, it just means you making logical bookings but I do feel that a surprise every now and then is needed in order to keep things fresh and interesting. This loss also ain´t the end for this particular storyline as this one will continue further but talking about those plans will have to wait a bit. That said, Queen was unhappy about the clean loss but when you work with me you win some and you lose some (unless you are a jobber in which case you won´t win much <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />). The next match that I booked were actually the tag match with Fun Police, mainly because I wanted to make sure I had a spot for them. Now, I know the name is bit stubit but that´s exactly what I wanted it to be as I feel it works for the pair and their current gimmicks. Next two matches were the first two singles matches and yes, I did give Freedom Eagle a win. My reasoning being that with Drury being on 15 popularity, he would still gain points even while losing so there was no reason to put him over Eagle quite yet (guess who´s going to win the match next month <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) while Eagle would be unlikely to phone his performance when he actually wins so I felt it was decently safe bet to advance the storyline this way. Revell got win over Deuce, mainly just because I felt that the other two guys in this feud should have a match too. The last match on the card was the six man tag match, which was there to give Predators some momentum while also advancing the storyline thanks to Joe being on opposide team. Now these bookings did left Silencer and Whittaker out from the show, not something I´m perfectly happy about but they just happened to be the odd ones out. In general, seeing in-ring days less often is something that will typically happen to any top guys who ain´t in the storylines, espesially when I want to try to keep them strong and thus try to avoid giving them too many losses like is the case with both Silencer and Whittaker. I praised Smooth (how could I not?), Queen (despite not having particularly great performance, he still did fine for his standards even if he was unhappy about the result) and Wolfsbaine (E+ ain´t nothing special but it´s pretty much the grade you need to get if you want me to consider you being above jobber status so getting there so early without help from popularity promises good things). It wouldn´t had been wrong to praise Cobra as well but he was just praised and is fairly happy at the moment anyway so I decided to give nobs to Queen and Logan instead. Also note worthy that on a card were every undercard wrestler appeared, Eagle had the worst rating despite being on the winning side. I´m sure his heavy morale penalty has something to do with it, but still.</p><p> </p><p>

main event: Smooth: 27, Queen: 24, Seth: 19, Silencer: 24 </p><p>

upper midcard: Jolson: 18, DeMarcus: 18, Revell: 18, Joe: 18, </p><p>

midcard: Cobra: 17, Deuce: 16, Eagle: 17, Garry: 17, Drury:17, Whittaker: 17</p><p>

lower midcard: Hurakan: 14, Funk: 14, Night: 13, Hangman: 13</p><p>

Opener: Borgomeo: 4, Wolfsbaine: 9</p><p> </p><p>

Not much change on popularity front, everyone below 17 got the usual 2 - 3 points and no changes otherwise. On finances side, I continue to leak money by losing 1 386$ this month. On more interesting news, few big contracts are ending this month, namely Austin Smooth, Quentin Queen and Bret Graveson, all three being pretty important parts of the roster. Much to my surprise, Smooth was still happy with 500$ per show (same than he makes now) so I thanked him by removing travel costs (it pays to be loyal to me, doesn´t it? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) and giving him another three year contract. Queen on the other hand, wanted a raise with 700$ per show (was 600$ before) being his new asking prize. That´s not same kind of steal than with Austin but it´s still fair prize espesially without travel costs so I agreed on another three year deal for him as well. Bret Graveson actually lowered his wage demand on 500$ per show (used to be 700$) so I quickly offered another three year contract and removed the travel costs because I´m so nice guy (darn I feel dirty doing so espesially when they already offer me good prize even with travel included). All three accepted their contract offers. </p></div><p></p><p></p>

<p>I am all for putting the belt back on Smooth. I've never been a big fan of Quentin Queen in all honesty, and although he can be a part of a small company, the thing is you have two guys that are far superior champions and if you could get Cobra to a higher pop, I'm sure he could get better ratings. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Garry the Entertainer be a solid champion either. So that's four guys I prefer over Queen. Anti-Queen rant over. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Darryl Borgomeo is a bloody cool name. he seems to be a decent talent too with an E performance even with how low his pop is, not much behind the highly touted Logan Wolfsbaine. I could see Borgomeo be a champ in ESE.</p>

<img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> Darryl Borgomeo is a bloody cool name. he seems to be a decent talent too with an E performance even with how low his pop is, not much behind the highly touted Logan Wolfsbaine. I could see Borgomeo be a champ in ESE.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Smooth won´t have a long run as he´s main problem is that he already have feuded recently against any face who I could really see challenging for the belt (expect one new signing that happens after next show). Queen certainly ain´t as good as Smooth or Silencer but he is still considered as top 3 guy and has been build up quite much so far so don´t be suprised if he gets the belt back soon, although I do admit that he´s getting the push mostly because I just decided to give one to him rather than him doing anything to really earn it. </p><p> </p><p> As for other two you mentioned, Cobra is certainly someone who I plan to push into main event scene. Garry on the other hand will likely stay as tag guy for next few years as the plan is to use Fun Police as backbone on eventual tag division and it might take bit of time before the division is even formed. Also, Garry´s alt does hold him back a bit as I have hard time seeing him as main eventer (I generally don´t rate comedy characters past midcard role and it´s hard to see Garry as anything else). That said, on one of my earliest diaries, I remember using Chuck Frisby of all people as one of my main heels and I have thought about potentially turning Garry heel as I feel that he could make a good creepy heel. So basically my idea is him sounding happy and all but then when he asks from the monkey what he should do the answer would be something along the "let´s kill everyone" (well, not that far maybe but you get the idea) thus painting him more as dangerous lunatic who thinks it´s fun to hurt people instead of the current happy-go-lucky character. That said, only time will tell if I ever pull trigger on that and it´s almost certainly multiple years away at best. </p><p> </p><p> As for Darryl, I doubt he would be champ at least on his current run and the reason for that is that with several lower card heels getting a bit of a push at the moment, Darryl simply doesn´t have an opening to win matches and losing all the time will likely hurt his momentum too badly. That said, I said the same thing on Garry so there´s always a chance.</p><p> </p><p> Roster Moves:</p><p> </p><p> Guys Leaving:</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="ETtXsFn.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ETtXsFn.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Justice Jolson</p><p> Age: 29</p><p> Record (in ESE): 11 - 1 - 8</p><p> Average match Rating (in ESE): -</p><p> Jolson´s contract did run out between November and December and with him stil being employed by GSW, I wasn´t going to resign him for obvious reasons. Jolson´s match history in GSW this year is 0 - 1 - 6 with average match rating being D so he´s gotten decent amount of matches but is still on jobber status. Overall, I´d say he haven´t lost anything by dropping us as while he´s win - loss record would be better if he stayed, he´s gaining more exposure is GSW anad likely gains more popularity since AI doesn´t seem to run into same popularity problems that I do. Not much else to say here expect that I´m kind of happy that he´s finally gone. Not because I would have wanted to get rid of him but because I have been quite embarrassed by the fact that he´s still auto-pushes as upper midcarder despite my best effort to push guys on my current roster. Then again, Seth has a year left on his contract and he auto pushes as main eventer still so my embarrasing lack of success is likely to continue all the way to end of 2019 anyway. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p>

Show starts with Smooth in the ring, telling the audience that he did what he promised to do and is now two times King of the Network champion and that his reign will continue for unseeable future. Queen stops Smooth before he gets far and reminds Smooth that he has a rematch clause just like Smooth had and that he plans to get the belt back. Smooth laughes at that, telling Queen that lightning doesn´t strike twice and while he had a once in the lifetime luck of beating Smooth once, it won´t happen again and that gone in the blink title reign that Queen had is the only one he´s ever going to get. Queen simply tells Smooth that they will see if Smooth can walk the walk as well as he´s talk the talk, because he´s going to cash his rematch in few months so Smooth should enjoy his title reign while it lasts. After the match, Cobra comes into ringside and mockingly congratulates Joe for the win. Joe counters by telling Cobra that he have now beaten not only Cobra but also both his henchmen and thus proven that he´s a better man but if Cobra still thinks that Joe is easy prey he´s welcome to come after him again. Cobra shakes he´s head, looking amused. Yes, Joe have gotten some wins and proven that he´s not an easy target, but having a prey be worth your time is just going to make the eventual kiiling blow all that more sweater. And as far as wins go, winning a meaningless battle isn´t doing much, only the last fight counts and every time Joe has to fight them is draining Joe and evetually he will be weak enough for the final strike and then, and only then, will Cobra strike. Show Rating: D-</p><p> </p><p>

Comments: Ok show overall and another D- rating which is welcome after the string of E+ ratings, one thing I noted that most penalties now said that I only had slighly worse then some of my rivals, pretty sure it was straight up worse not too long ago so I need to check if there has been some changes on production values. First match to be booked on this show was actually Drury vs. Eagle mainly because I had already decided to that will happen and build-up for than in last show. I fully expect Eagle to sandback or complain on this one but they both on 17 popularity right now and I hope win here would help Drury to push up to 18 (he will certainly fall back to 17 at some point but would hopefully help another guy to get up to 18 as a trade off) and I don´t really care if Eagle is pissed off at this point and will happily fire him if he phones his performance. Next two matches to be booked were the semi-main and main event tag matches. On Joe / Silencer vs. Predators, I have wanted to try Logan and Hangman together for some time in order to check any potential chemistry notes but haven´t found a right place for that. A loss here shouldn´t hurt them too much while also advances the storyline between Joe and Predators and hopefully helps both Logan and Hangman to gain more than the minimum two points of popularity in order to push them up to that 17 earlier (there´s bit limited options to make them look strong until they got there). As for the main event, I was thinking about having Smooth defend his belt, perhaps against feuding pair on a three-way but since I already booked Eagle and Joe on other matches, I decided against it and will likely have that match next month. I was thinking about having DeMarcus face Smooth but in the end, decided to go with tag match instead for two reasons. 1) It allows me to book Whittaker on the show and 2) it helps Garry and Nate to gain tag experience which is the goal for them at the moment. Loss to Fun Police there wasn´t likely the best build-up for them, but Smooth and Whittaker should be big enough names that it shouldn´t hurt them that much and they don´t really have rival team at this point anyway so no need to push them super strong ar the moment. That said, while they already a top tag team by just being a tag team (since there is no other teams at the moment), I do want to make sure that they would win most tag matches they are in, afterall, what use it is for them to be a team if they do worse than some random pairings (minus occasional loss to two main event level guys as was the case here)? The fourth match was just there to give Borgomeo and Hurakan an occasional win. I picked them over Jazz and Night because both Jazz and Night have negative relationship with someone else in the roster (O´Hara for Jazz and Cobra for Night) and since Jazz and Night are by far the less important persons on those feuding pairs, they might be on the cutting block for that reason. Without those negative ralationships I would likely have gone the other way as Borgomeo and Hurakan aren´t likely to get enough wins to not tank their momentum thanks to Hangman and Wolfsbaine being associated with Cobra and Drury potentially gaining popularity from FCW which leaves Hurakan and Borgomeo to eat all the pins. It´s also worth noting that Jazz Funk was bit unhappy about the loss but I did go with the wanted result anyway. Also, Freedom Eagle was unhappy about booking of his match but you all know what I think about Eagle for now so obviously I did go with my originals plans.</p><p> </p><p>

With Eagle phoning his perfomance, I did do what I said I do which is to tell him that he´s wortless and then fired him at the spot after the show. On more positive note, I did compliment Silencer for first ever C- rated performance and similarly gave Queen a praise for his C- angle. I would have wanted to praise Smooth as well but his gotten most praise out from the three and I needed to yell Eagle in order to make my point clear for rest of the locker room. The backstage stuff didn´t end there either as Dana O´Hara decided to muddy the waters a bit more and him bad mouthing Jazz has now given simmering tension between Jazz and four other wrestlers, namely Cobra, Garry The Entertainer, Outlaw Wes Revell and Kirk Drury. Well, that seals Jazz Funk´s fate as he´s not important enough to keep with so many backstage penalties, espesially with both Cobra and Garry being extremely positive presences backstage and Jazz not even being one. So, both Jazz Funk and Freedom Eagle are now out from ESE as a result and I need to find two names to will their shoes. No-one cared about Eagle and both O´Hara and Drury told me that firing Jazz was the right decision. To be fair, I´m not happy about firing Jazz and this might play into replacing O´Hara in long terms but we have to see if this affects to O´Hara later on. As for the other four guys that were against Jazz, this episode won´t have any future effects for them.</p><p> </p><p>

main event: Smooth: 27, Queen: 24, , Silencer: 24 </p><p>

upper midcard: DeMarcus: 18, Seth: 19 , Joe: 19, </p><p>

midcard: Cobra: 17, Garry: 18, Revell: 18, Drury:18, Whittaker: 18</p><p>

lower midcard: Deuce: 16, Hurakan: 17, Hangman: 16</p><p>

Opener: Night: 13, Wolfsbaine: 12</p><p>

Enchantment talent: Borgomeo: 8</p><p> </p><p>

Finally Seth ain´t in the main event! Well, ok, he will likely be back once I sign replaments for Eagle and Jazz but I take my victories were I can. On positive side, Joe gained a popularity point which wasn´t really expected so nice that it happened. Also, Garry gained a point from the main event loss and so did Whittaker (well he was on winning side but still). Also, Drury gained a point by kicking Eagle out from company so that´s another plus. Hurakan, Hangman and Wolfsbaine all got three points as well while Borgomeo gained four so at least my popularity gains were pretty darn good this time. Oh, and about the product thing, forgot the check it at first with the surprise roster shuffle but now that I checked it, RIPW isn´t considered my rival any more so (guessing it´s because they are regional now although that happened in August so guess I was just late to notice it <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) I´m mostly losing just one level (usually to GSW but also IPW on broadcast quality) which is much more manageable cap to get even at least on some areas so we might need to look those up in the future. At the moment, I still think we stay were we are since we are gaining popularity with current shows and are still losing money. Speaking of losing money, we lost another 2 217$ this month, not too bad considering that everyone except Dustin Deuce was on the card.</p></div><p></p><p></p>

Well, Jazz didn´t stay for long but despite me firing him, I actually doesn´t have anything bad to say on him. Jazz leaving was more of a case of backstage politics and him being disliked by too many important roster members rather than anything bad he did but still the end reasult is the same and I can´t say that I would miss him either as he didn´t contribute a whole lot into the shows other than being someone who I didn´t mind losing all the time. </p><p> </p><p>

Freedom Eagle</p><p>

Age: 25</p><p>

record (in ESE): 4 - 0 - 7</p><p>

Average match rating (in ESE): E</p><p>

If Jazz leaving was kind of "it´s a shame but I don´t really care" for me, I´m pretty darn happy to get an excuse to get rid of Eagle. Which is a shame since I thought he could be valuable midcarder for me (I do seem to take liking on guys with masked alt for whatever reason) but random backstage incitend (his fight with Graveson) ended that chance pretty quickly and him becoming unhappy and then phoning his performances quickly spiraled him into dog house and gives him a dubious honor of being the biggest miss I had so far in this diary. That said, even before those incitents, he wasn´t quite getting the ratings I expected from him (remember, he was originally signed to replace Seth Whitehead) but without personal problems, I feel that he could have become a midcard guy, perhaps forming a patriotic midcard tag team with someone (potentially with Regular Joe or some new signing).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

New Signings:</p><p>

With two guys leaving, I obviosuly wanted to sign two new ones and while both guys were basically classified as jobbers (Eagle fell to that position after his misbehaving), I was in mind of bringing another midcard/main event guy on face side, potentially picking up 3 to 6 spot on the face side (so somewhere between Joe, Garry and Nate) depending on who I´d sign. I also looked some older guys that I previously overlooked as it has occurred to me that I specifically picked popularity over perfomance promotion so that I could use older talents more effectively and then completely skipped older guys on the base idea that they are "too old". I looked several differend names with Ace Youngblood, Andrew Harper, Ford Gumble, Happy Elwood, Jebediah, Jeremie Courthey, Kashmir Singh, Knuckles, Max Mayhem, Rayne Man and Shady K being the main ones that I considered. For other spot, I wanted to simple sign another jobber guy so not going to go into deeper on who considerred for that. Anyway here´s the guys I ended up with.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="gQwSeBU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gQwSeBU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

Andrew Harper</p><p>

Age: 29</p><p>

Popularity in USA: E- (22 in Puerto Rico)</p><p>

Face, Bad Ass</p><p>

So I ended up not hiring an older guy anyway, but Harper felt like a best fit in terms of skills, popularity and prize, with the cost being the main deciding factor as Harper was willing to work for 700$ per show, while most other´s on the list above demanded at minimum 900$ per show which would have made any of them my highest paid guys (Harper is joint second with Queen, asking 100$ less than Regular Joe). While I do associate Harper as heel thanks to him being that in NYCW, he does have strong rating on face side as well and that´s what he will be here (at least for time being), slotting somewhere between Joe and Fun Police in terms of initial push. Harper was cut from NYCW back in November 2017 (he did get a tag title reign with New York Doll that lasted from may 2016 to November 2016 to go alongside the two Tri-State regional title reigns he had before the game started) so he spend this entire 2018 in Intependence scene, getting a respectable D- as his match average there although he mainly had decent (or at least well known) opponents like Singh, Charlie Thacher, Jeremy Courtney, Honest Frank, Miller Fforte and Moroi so lets see how he can do with me.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="6O59uOA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/6O59uOA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

Fred Bowen</p><p>

Age: 20</p><p>

Popularity in USA: F-</p><p>

Face, Biker</p><p>

No, I didn´t hire Grunt, but it´s his regen Fred Bowen who so far have had only two matches in intependence scene (wins against TJ Bayley and JOJI, the first one rated as F+ and the second as E) so obviously he´s very green still. That also means he´s cheap though and he´s willing to work for just 140$ per show and as said before, I don´t really expect my jobbers to perform anyway so why not pick a cheap one if I can? Bowen scouts as strong physical and heel with average elsewhere and that´s all I know so lets see if he manages to become something or if he´s just going to leave after his current two years contract is done. I gave him a biker gimmick mainly bacause Grunt´s alt kind of pushes me there for some reason but also I figured that I could pair him up with another newbie Darryl Borgomeo (who also had biker gimmick) as a jobber team. Or atleast that thought crossed my mind until I realized that Darryl is heel so they aren´t going to team up any time soon. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

I admit after finally getting fully caught up I am enjoying seeing a company of similar size using some of the same guys I do just to see how different they perform. I am somewhere in 2019 with AAW so it is neat seeing a guy like Austin Smooth where he is at in your game and try to compare where he was at that time in mine.
