Just had a thought, what if Ethan Page is the last man in the ladder match??

That's the only major free agent that I can think of to fit that spot. He also is apparently really good friends with Cody and wasn't part of the last class of WWE signings so I think there's a really good chance it's Page. It's also always a good thing to sign guys that can cut good promos.

The only other name I can think of that's available is Carlito. I know NWA reached out to him for an interview, but he's a free agent and in amazing shape.

AEW: 934,000 (0.33 demo)

NXT: 692,000 (0.20 demo)

AEW even won the 50+ demo 0.38 to 0.32 (Paul Wight/Shaq/Sting/Tully for the win).

No wonder USA are moving NXT to a different night.

Shaq and Show and still short of a million, i know the demos is what they look for but they need NXT to move just as much as NXT need to move

Now that I actually think about it. Chris Hero is also available. I think Hero would do really well there. Maybe, Hero, is the HoF guy Paul Wight was talking about.

I think Paul Wight actually said HOF-worthy (so not in there yet). Could apply to MMA or non-WWE guys, too. And Meltzer thinks the ladder entrant is someone entirely different.

For the ladder match entrant my picks are:

- Ethan Page

- Mike Bailey (been name-dropped but I don't think his ban ends until after the PPV)

- Marty the Moth Martinez (rehabbing from back problems at the Nightmare Factory, not sure he's fit enough yet)

I'm pretty sure he turned AEW down because they offered him a backstage position as a coach instead of a talent. He didn't come right out and say it was AEW, but it was implied. That could have changed though.

<p>I keep hearing that it's Christian but I have a hard time imagining that he would be in the final four in the Rumble and have his best mate main eventing WrestleMania if he wasn't under contract. WWE are a lot of things but that would really reek of incompetence. (and not, you know, awesomeness <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />)</p><p> </p><p>

I think Kurt Angle is probably a good shout. He's done a lot of media recently criticising WWE and lamenting that his retirement match was no good, would make sense for him to come into AEW, coach the young boys and wrestle a couple.</p><p> </p><p>

I don't see it being Punk or Lesnar. It would be a colossal bad idea to have Punk or Lesnar and not promote in advance to pop a buy rate.</p><p> </p><p>

Edit: Just realised I said nothing about the show! The Shaq match went as well as it could have, I thought it was well executed. Loved the Brodie Lee tribute on the Powerbomb, loved the double table bump. Jade looked decent but still very much a work in progress of course, she has poise and personality, the rest will come.</p>

It will be interesting to see who AEW brings in as their 'mystery signing.' I just hope they don't go the route of former TNA announcements; hyping something big only for it to feel like a "meh... okay" scenario. That said, I have more trust in Cody Rhodes and his crew than I did of Dixie Carter.

<p>I think Christian and Kurt Angle are the most likely signings for the HoF level talent. </p><p> </p><p>

Moxley said in an interview recently that he hoped Christian was able to be signed because of how good he is and how good of shape he's in now.</p><p> </p><p>

Angle posted a weird video of him putting on wrestling gear on instagram so people are freaking out. Angle has also been very vocal about how much he hated his final run in WWE.</p><p> </p><p>

The IWC is building this up to be Hogan joining WCW in 1994, and I just don't think there's anyway it will live up to the hype for them unless it's Cena, Brock, or Punk.</p><p> </p><p>

Punk is my first choice, but I would love to see Christian get another good run. Cena would be a game changer too though.</p>

Punk could be really interesting. Admittedly, I'm a big fan of his work. That said, if it WERE to be him (at some point), they'd need to have a good story in place. Just having him show up would be interesting, and the matches that would follow, but there would need to be something that gives him something to fight for/against.

I haven't been able to get into weekly wrestling for years (probably since the turn of the millennium) but got through Dec onwards of AEW in the last week and am PUMPED for the PPV. Excited to see who the surprise turns out to be and guys like Silver, Page and Cassidy have captured my attention in a way nobody has on TV for ages.

Not that anyone cares, but my Revolution thoughts

Maki Itoh & Britt Baker vs Thunder Rosa & Riho

- One of the best "pre show" matches I have ever seen in any company. Britt Baker has finally won me over. She did botch a time or two, but she's really hitting her stride. The best part of the match for me was Maki Itoh though. She has quickly become my favorite female act in all of wrestling.

“The Young Bucks” Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson vs. Chris Jericho and MJF (w/Wardlow) for the AEW Tag Titles

- Super hot opener that really showcased both teams. It cracked me up when one of the Young Bucks said in a promo package that Jericho isn't a tag wrestler even though Jericho has won like a million tag titles. Glad the Bucks won. I bet during the War Council on Dynamite MJF finally tries to take over as leader of the Inner Circle.

Casino Tag Team Royale for a shot at the AEW Tag Titles

- I loved most of the teams in the match. I could have sworn Top Flight was advertised for this match originally. Would rather have seen them than the Gunn Club. I had a feeling Death Triangle would win because of their squash match on this past week's Dynamite. I wish Angels would have had more time to shine though.

Hikaru Shida vs. Ryo Mizunami for the AEW Women’s Championship

- Good match, but had far too many near falls. Ryo kicked out of WAY too many moves. I'm glad Shida won, but they didn't need to have Ryo kicking out of five thousand moves.

Miro and Kip Sabian (w/Penelope Ford) vs. Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy

- Fun match. Looks like Kip and Miro are going to split. I like Kip and Penelope, but they hold Miro back. Hopefully Miro moves on to better things.

“Hangman” Adam Page vs. Matt Hardy in a Money Match

- Very enjoyable match with the right outcome. Hangman should really be in the main event scene. Big Money Matt is entertaining as hell, but man, Hangman seems like he should be at the top of the card instead of a midcard match.

“All Ego” Ethan Page vs. Cody Rhodes (w/Arn Anderson) vs. Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Scorpio Sky vs. Lance Archer (w/Jake Roberts) vs. Max Caster in The Face of the Revolution ladder match

- I had predicted Ethan Page almost right away. He is a stellar talent that can work well with almost anyone. I wish Josh Alexander would have been able to come too because the North is one of the best modern tag teams, but I love Ethan. I figured Sky would win after his gimmick change. Darby and Sky could be fun on Dynamite.

Christian Cage debut

- Crowd went nuts. I know this is going to disappoint some folks, but Christian is amazing in my eyes and the end of his WWE run was not that good. I'm glad he gets to out on his own terms. Interested to see who he goes after. He's a workhorse though.

Sting and Darby Allin vs. Brian Cage and Ricky Starks in a Street Fight

- One of the better cinematic matches. Everyone looked good. Was shocked Sting picked up the win, but he looked better than ever. I know the cinematic approach helps that, but he really moved around well. Like Christian, I'm glad Sting is getting a chance to end things on his own terms.

Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley in an Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match for the AEW Championship

- The lack luster explosion at the end was very unfortunate as it made Eddie look super silly for selling it. Something had to have gone wrong. The match itself was a bloody affair. I watched some exploding barbwire matches to get a feel for the match type and it was on par with what I watched. I loved that Kingston came out to try and protect Mox. Eddie is one of my favorite people in AEW, so the more he's featured the better. I have a feeling Mox is taking time off for awhile to recharge his batteries and spend time with his pregnant wife. He has to be running on empty or close to it. Interested to see who the next challenger is.

Bummed for the ending of that deathmatch, a proper introduction to many fans and it kinda duds with the ending great match and storytelling before that explosion. I was eh on Bucks Vs. Jericho/MJF, I expected the Bucks to change it up for a "blood feud" type match with more brawling and less high flying and the superkicks, but their style is their styles.

Great show across the board.

The 'explosion' was incredibly disappointing as the 'blowoff' to this feud deserved much better but on reflection is easily explained away in Kayfabe and if anyone can pivot this into a hot angle on the mic it's gonna be Kingston. Kingston vs Omega should be good.

Bucks vs Pac/Fenix? Inject that into my veins!

AEW released a video after Revolution of Moxley saying Omega is a tough son of a bitch but he can't make an exploding ring worth shit.

So at least they're trying to get ahead of it. Still, Kingston selling for that lame duck kaboom looked beyond goofy.

I guess if that's the only major complaint of a show, than we were lucky.

I enjoyed the Rumble for the most part, Vengeance Day was even better than that, but Revolution is by far the best North American ppv thus far in my opinion.

There's all kinds of directions AEW can go from here and I'm strapped in for the ride

Miro tweeted earlier saying that Omega is a vad engineer or something and thats what they need to do. Lean ibto it.

Everyone mocks Kenny & Callis for poor engineering and Kingston passed out from adrenaline rush etc. thus he went limp. "I thought I was gonna die. I should've. But Kenny. You F'd up and left us alive..."

Or have it that they didn't rig it properly as they weren't 100% convinced that Kenny wouldn't be in there when it went off or that they didn't trust Good Brothers to aid Omega. It won't fix the screw up but it'll save face and make a new angle

One mistake shouldn't take away from what was still an excellent show. AEW do need to fix the production issues with audio etc. We're 18 months in and it's still not tremendous.

Otherwise, I'm completely hyped going forward.
