DIW: (Another Diary) Doomed to Fail

Recommended Posts

DIW January Show Recap by ME

Tombstone walks out to the ring, title belt hanging by his side; before he gets a chance to the speak The Comedian is out. The Comedian is quick to remind Tombstone that belt won’t be his forever - which, in turn, brings out Dumfrey Pinn to tell both men that sooner or later that the title belt will become the property of Pinn Enterprises - where it belongs. In the end, the jawing descends into insults and the main event is set Pinn and any of his goons up against The Comedian and Tombstone.

49/100

Backstage, the Tag Team Champions, Ares Death Cult are lamenting not wrestling tonight - but console themselves that their are no worthy challengers when a man in an ill-fitting suit walks up to them, introduces himself as Dutch DeRue and explains that when people think of DIW tag teams they are down the pecking order BUT he can change that - he hands them a business card before leaving.

41

Bob Shrunkle vs East Coast Panther

Bad Bad Match. So bad I don’t even want to describe the action. Bob moved slow and ECP was well, ECP. The finish sparked my interest when from the crowd, Milton Hittlespitz ran into the ring slammed Bob Shrunkle in the back of the head with a chair and exited just as quickly. ECP took his chance, hit his finisher and won the match.

17

After an angry Bob Shrunkle stormed to the back, some hippy lookin’ dude with a jacket that said Moonchild was handing out flowers at ringside which the crowd hated - he walked into Mayhem Mulhoney and gave him a flower. MM looked at it dumped on the ground, stomped on it and them just punched “Moonchild” in the face, before walking off.

61

Backstage, Lori was alone when Vaughan, the leader of the Barracudas cornered her and was really aggressive, threatening her with some things that if this wasn’t DIW, would get him arrested. She slapped him, and walked off, he smiled and wiped his face.

67

Vaughan vs Wez Dobberly[w/ Lori]

The leader of the Barracudas was out first; Wez flew to the ring like a Bat out of Hell - probably because Lori had just told him what had happened. Wez was on fire early, but Vaughan came back and eventually stopped Wez in his tracks. After winning the match he hit a second piledriver on Wez for good measure before blowing a kiss to Lori for good measure and laughing on his way out.

33

Backstage, Mace Mueller is telling his boss, Dumfrey Pinn that some guy claiming to be his brother is trying to see him - Dumfrey cringes - when his brother burst in. “Hey Big Bro, it’ your little bro “Crazy Train.” Pinn tells Mace to take care of it. Pinn finishes getting ready for his match while Mace leads Crazy Train out of the locker room.

Pinn Enterprises Ltd (Dumfrey Pinn and Angus McMiller) vs The Comedian and Tombstone

While there is a degree of rivalry in the team of The Comedian and Tombstone they work well enough as a team. McMiller and Pinn control most of the match with Angus doing the heavy lifting. Just as it looks like Pinn Enterprises looks to have the match wrapped up Crazy Train runs out to the ring to cheer his brother on. Pinn jumps down to tell him to get to the back but it’s enough of a distraction for Tombstone to come up behind McMiller and apply the rear naked choke to the submission win. Tombstone and The Comedian stare down afterwards.

Another DIW show reviewed by ME!

Blackwell “Burning” Bush and Black Flash were in the ring with another wrestler, who we learned as Bryan(t) Hall come he effectively said that Bush and Flash used their names as insults to the First Nations people. The match was match a 3-way dance.

27

Black Flash vs Blackwell Bush vs Bryan Hall

This was a reasonably entertaining match; Black Flash stood out. Blackwell Bush did his thing, but the surprise was the speed, strength and agility of Bryan Hall. Hall, looked to have the match won - when he turned as saw Death ref counting, he refused to accept the count over Bush. He stood up and walked out allowing Black Flash to his fancy finisher and win the match.

23

Crazy Train was with his brother Dumfrey Pinn, the Pinn Enterprises locker room. D. Pinn was annoyed by his presence and ordered Mace Mueller to get rid of him. Talking nicely to him before finally shoving him out of the locker room…

45

...Right into the path of angry Mayhem Mulhoney he just kept pushing Crazy Train down to the ring, while Train was protesting asking him Mayhem knew who his brother was. Mayhem didn’t care - he just wanted a fight.

46

Crazy Train vs Mayhem Mulhoney

This was brutality. Mayhem just pounded on Crazy Train, not letting him get any offence in. Mayhem brought out his trusted chain and knocked Train out with it to end the match, which took longer than it needed because Mulhoney was enjoying inflicting pain on his opponent.

35

Backstage, Tombstone and The Comedian came to a gentleman’s agreement to kick the living shit out of each other at the next show to decide a worthy DIW Champion. Both men were sure adamant they would win.

47

Bob Shrunkle vs Milton Hittlespitz

After the events of the last show Shrunkle got himself a match against Hittlespitz. Shrunkle used power and Milton used speed. It was finished when Hittlespitz used his chair on the head of Shrunkle.

34

Backstage, Dutch DeRue was with his clients the Ares Death Cult, he informed he had organised a big tag title defence for them. And this was the start of the journey that would cement them in the minds of the masses.

50

DIW Tag Team Championship

Ares Death Cult© [w/ Dutch DeRue] vs Syrus and Slugger, The Bat Men

The champs made light work of their hand picked opponents. Dutch made them make an example of the challengers before the match was finished with the Blood Sacrifice.

30

God of War vs Moonchild

Moonchild tried to give GOW flowers and make peace before the match but he was having none of it. Once the bell rung, GOW dominated this match - that is until Milton Hittlespitz, hit the ring with his chair of devastation. This allowed Moonchild to hit the Summer of 69 for the surprise victory.

21

In the Pinn Enterprises locker room, Wez Dobberly is begging Lori to stay in the back to make sure than Vaughan his slimy Barracudas don’t get their hands on her. Lori protests but Wez shuts her complaints down.

37

The Barracudas [blitz Simpson, Chopper Rourke & Vaughan]

Vs

Pinn Enterprises Ltd [Mace Mueller, Angus McMiller & Wez Dobberly]

A back and forth match between the two syndicates that are battling for control of DIW. In the end, however sheer willingness of the Barracudas to resort to pure violence started becoming the dominating factor until Pinn Enterprises hit back with some smart tactics. The finish of the match came when Lori made her way out to cheer on her team. This provided a distraction to Wez Dobberly - Vaughan took the opening while Blitz and Chopper kept McMiller and Mace out of the ring. And Victory went to the Barracudas.

So you might not know by now - I've been doing reviews of DIW shows. And I have never told you my name - nor will I - just know me as the anonymous reviewer of Deep Impact Wrestling.

Today I wanted to review the champions

DIW Champion

Tombstone

Tombstone is the type of type champion that would rather his actions define him, than let the words he speaks be what he is remember for. He doesn't talk a lot, but when he does most of it is talking with his fists. When he does open his mouth - he make sure his words serve a purpose; to the point without superfluous bluster that accompanies some of his rivals. He is quite a dominant champion at this point in time. He is continually painted as the biggest, baddest, meanest, toughest SOB in DIW.

Rivals:

Dumfrey Pinn

The Comedian

Allies:

The Comedian.

DIW Tag Team Champions

Ares Death Cult - Cesar Sionis and Gyulas Lakatos

They were sort of floating in the never never; dwelling in the shadows of more well known teams like The Barracudas, The Hired Guns and The Bad Truckers. When the snivelly Dutch DeRue came along to offer his "marketing" services. Since he has taken on the managerial services for the champions - they have gone on a solid unbeaten run. However, it should be noted that DeRue has carefully kept the Champions away from the more well known teams in DIW.

Rivals

Being carefully avoided by Dutch DeRue

Allies:

Dutch DeRue

That's my review of the Deep Impact Champions.

See you after the next show! With a preview below.

Main Event

The Comedian and Tombstone vs The Hired Guns [Angus McMiller and Wez Dobberly]

Why they fight: After the end of the title match between The Comedian and Tombstone at the last show they were ambushed by Pinn Enterprises. This is a by-product of that show ending brawl.

Tag Team Match

The Barracudas [blitz Simpson and Chopper Rourke] vs Dumfrey Pinn and Mace Mueller

Why they fight: The Barracudas and Pinn Enterprises are the two strongest factions and fierce rivals in DIW. Tonight, they fight because gangs fight each other.

Tag Team Title Match

Ares Death Cult© vs Dutch DeRue's challengers

Why they fight: Because Dutch needs to build his charges up and make them the most marketable faces in the DIW Tag Team Division. Rumour has it has already complained that he has not been given the Main Event slot for this upcoming show.

God of War vs Milton Hittlespitz

Why they fight: God of War is unhappy with Milton's actions from some previous shows and wants the chance to get his hands on him in an isolated situation. Milton Hittlespitz says "Whatever."
