I'm legitimately confused on your show grades. Are you getting dinged for production? Are you making sure your top angles are all Major angles (minor angles don't show up when you're looking in the show history and don't count towards the show grade)? Do you accidentally have sex appeal on and getting dinged for not having enough women on?

I am really enjoying the diary, but I always get worried when newcomers start diaries and get poor ratings or poor cash as that drags their enthusiasm down which inevitably ends the diary. Something is definitely wrong somewhere though as 2 98/99 angles and an 89 main event should have been better than an 82, and your event score made even less sense.

I did adjust how I use Missy Hyatt when you mentioned it previously. Something I haven't paid much attention to though is minor angles. I don't set anything to minor. I may have to experiment with that. I've completed through March '91 already, so I'll have to see what I can do starting with April. I appreciate your feedback! I'm having a blast with this.

I may have to experiment with that. I've completed through March '91 already, so I'll have to see what I can do starting with April. I appreciate your feedback! I'm having a blast with this.</div></blockquote> Angles are now programmed as either Minor or Major. You can see that when you go to pick them. It's at the top part of the screen. Obviously, you did fine with angles to get the show rating you got on WCW. I tend to forget that you likely didn't switch the product at all so it's more pop>performance. I always set it to equal so I get better match grades than most do early on, though you're doing okay with that most of the time. Main thing is that you're really enjoying it. I enjoy reading it.

Eric Bischoff is in the ring and announces "Rowdy" Roddy Piper! Piper comes to the ring and addresses his desire to simply maintain order in tomorrow's main event. Then, Rick Rude comes to the ring and questions Piper's motives, as he is never someone to just "stand back". Piper reminds Rude who he is talking to, and that if he really thinks he wouldn't be hands-off, taking shots at him isn't in his best interest. Just then, NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Sting, comes to the ring. Sting admires Piper's desire to be impartial, but wants a guarantee that Rude will be kept in check. This starts an argument between Rude and Sting, with Piper in the middle. Sting carefully pushes Piper aside and is about to lay into Rude, when Piper grabs Sting from behind with The Sleeper! As he drags Sting away from Rude, he lets go of The Sleeper and shoves Sting aside, with Sting trying to catch his breath against the turnbuckle. Rude, all smiles, puts his hand on Piper's shoulder, pointing at Sting and laughing. Piper takes exception to Rude's contact, and hits Rude with a left hand, staggering Rude back into the other corner. Piper stands in the middle of the ring, takes his belt off and yells that he will have order before cameras fade to black.

NWA World Television Championship

In an exceptional match, Bobby Eatoin and Arn Anderson put on a clinic for the NWA World Television Championship. While Anderson was able to take it to Eaton with a ground and pound game, Eaton was able to mount a decent amount of offense by one-upping Anderson with his technical skills. Eaton is able to land a back suplex in the middle of the ring, and begins towards the turnbuckle. Eaton climbs to the top and hits an Alabama Jam! 1...2...Anderson gets a shoulder up! Jim Ross is beside himself and believed we had a three count, while Jesse Venture reminds Ross how great of a competitor Anderson is. Eaton picks up Anderson and goes for an irish whip. Eaton goes for a clothesline on the rebound and Anderson ducks. Coming back around, Anderson is able to catch Eaton with a Spinning Spinebuster at 13:28 to retain the NWA World Television Championship.

Steel Cage Match

Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat

Flair and Steamboat start things off slow, with a classic show of chain wrestling for the first few minutes. The pace begins to pick up as Steamboat is able to use his agility to gain an upper hand against Flair, despite his right knee not being 100%. Steamboat goes for a suplex, which is countered when Flair drops behind Steamboat, stomps the back of the knee, then hits a knee breaker. Steamboat is down and he is hurt. Flair spends time doing what he does best, and that is methodically picking apart Steamboat's leg, one move after another. Flair goes for the Figure Four Leglock when Steamboat counters, using his foot to push Flair away and into the cage. Flair is busted open. Steamboat is able to get back to his feet as Flair is disoriented and hits a couple deep arm drags much to the crowd's delight. Steamboat hits a couple knife edge chops, then hits a dropkick, putting Flair on the mat. Steamboat, with the crowd in the palm of his hand, motions to the top rope and the crowd explodes. Steamboat climbs the top rope and hits a diving crossbody! Steamboat rolls off Flair clutching his knee, which hit the mat hard. This slight delay in the pinfall attempt gave Flair enough time to kick out of what could have been the winning move. Both men, beaten, slowly work to get to their feet, with Steamboat up first. Flair hits a knee breaker out of nowhere, and immediately follows it up with a Figure Four Leglock! Steamboat is in the middle of the ring in agony. Flair sits up and throws himself back several times to inflict maximum punishment. After about 30 seconds, Steamboat begins to rally behind the crowd and starts to turn the move over. He's done it, the Figure Four has been turned over, though Steamboat isn't able to hold it, as Flair uses Steamboat's momentum to turn it back over again. Referee Randy Anderson is right next to Steamboat asking if he wants to give it up. Steamboat does not give up, but is slowly fading. Flair sits up and throws himself back a few more times, and Steamboat appears to have passed out. Randy Anderson lifts Steamboats arm once...twice...and three times, giving Flair the victory at 21:44 via submission!

Paul E. Dangerously makes an unexpected appearance, heading to the ring with a phone in hand. He voices his frustrations with Vader not being a part of the pay-per-view, so they have decided to add themselves to it. Dangerously motions to the enterance, as Vader appears, carrying two men with him. The men are thrown into the ring, beaten and down. Dangerously directs Vader to take care of them, as he hits a powerbomb on both men, throws one on the other, and puts his foot on them while Dangerously counts to three.

Owen Hart vs. Dean Malenko

A decent match, highlighted by a good in-ring performance by both men. The technical skills of both allow them each to go back and forth, with near falls on 2 different occasions. Owen Hart is able to get the upper hand and puts Dean Malenko in a Sharpshooter. Malenko struggles to get out of the hold, but is able to make it to the ropes after being in the hold for about 20 seconds. With Malenko struggling to get up, Hart heads for the top rope, but takes too long and is caught by Malenko, who hits Hart with a couple shots to the mid-section. With Hart on the top rope, Malenko scales the front of the turbuckle backwards, and puts Hart on his shoulders with a fireman's carry. Malenko stands on the middle turnbuckle and jumps off, throwing Hart over his head and down onto his knee in a top-rope gut buster. Malenko is able to turn Hart over on his back, and pickup the pinfall at 13:54.

NWA United States Championship - No Disqualification

Lex Luger is quite cocky from the start. The men go back and forth for the first few minutes, with Luger getting the advantage on Martel and setting the pace of the match. Luger takes a weary Martel and sends him for an irish whip, hits the other ropes and nails a clothesline! Luger goes for a cover and manages to get a two count only. Frustrated, Luger exits the ring and grabs the United States Championship. He slides into the ring and waits for Martel to get up, then charges. Luger nails Martel in the head with the belt, and it's completely legal! Luger goes for the pin! One...two...Martel barely gets a shoulder up! Luger is livid! Luget sets the championship on the mat, picks up Martel and positions him for a piledriver. He's going to deliver a piledriver on the belt! Luger lifts Martel, but Martel kicks his legs and is able to backdrop Luger! With Luger momentarily stunned, Martel grabs the United States Championship. As Luger gets up and turns around, Martel nails him with the championship and falls to his knees. Luger is not out, but he's down and hurt! Martel gets up and signals for the Boston Crab. The crowd goes nuts as he puts it on Luger. Luger is struggling to reach the ropes, though it won't matter as it's a no disqualification match! Maybe Luger can reach the ropes to give himself some leverage to push out of the Boston Crab, or just pull himself out of the ring. Luger continues to reach, but he's slowing down. Luger is inches away from the rope, but he can't handle it. At 15:12, Luger gives up in the Boston Crab in an exceptional match. Rich Martel is your new NWA United States Heavyweight Champion!

NWA Tag Team Championship

It's the tag team championship rematch many didn't expect. Doom starts the match out with great intensity, with Butch Reed taking it to Rick Steiner. Frequent tags by Doom keep Rick Steiner in a bad poition for a good 5-6 minutes. Steiner is able to get the upper hand and eventually tags in Scott Steiner with the hot tag and the crowd goes nuts. Rick Steiner hits a Steiner-Line on Ron Simmons, sending him out of the ring. Scott Steiner picks up Butch Reed on his shoulders, and the Steiners hit a Steinerizer at 12:40 for the three count in a match that had great wrestling and good heat. The Steiner Brothers retain the NWA World Tag Team Championship, but more importantly, Doom is no longer able to challenge for the titles.

In our main event, we see Rick Rude and Sting slow things down, with a slow start to the match. Rick Rude is able to get an advantage on Sting and takes control of the match early. As time goes on, the men trade offense, but no pin attempts. About 12 minutes into the match, Sting whips Rude into the corner and goes for a Stinger Splash. He misses! Rude grabs Sting and hits the Rude Awakening! The match is over! One...two...Sting kicks out! The crowd goes nuts. Special Enforcer Roddy Piper is outside of the ring, watching on with great intent. So far, he has not had to do anything. Rude picks up Sting and goes for another Rude Awakening. Sting counters and connects with a back suplex! Sting is quick to his feet and locks in the Scorpion Death Lock! He's got it in! Rude is in trouble. After about 30 seconds, Rude is able to power his way to the ropes and cause a break. Sting falls to his knees wondering what he has to do. As Sting crawls away from Rude, Rude is struggling to use the ropes to get up. Randy Anderson goes over to check on Rude. Sting lunges as Rude and Rude steps aside, Sting clotheslines Randy Anderson, who falls out of the ring! Referee is down! Roddy Piper runs over to check on Anderson. Rude goes for a Rude Awakening in the ring on Sting, but Sting is able to fight out of it, hitting Rude with a series of punches, backing him in the corner. Sting whips Rude into the opposite corner, runs and hits a Stinger Splash! Rude is out on his feet, weary and wandering towards the center of the ring. Sting, bounces off the ropes, runs and hits Rude with a Jumping DDT! He rolls Rude over and hooks a leg. There is no referee! Anderson is still out. Piper, recognizing a pinfall is happening in the ring slides into the ring. ONE! TWO! THREE! In an exceptional match, Sting defeats Rick Rude at 26:21 to retain the NWA World Heavyweight Championship!

Great Spring Stampede even if two of the matches probably underachieved what you thought they would (I blame Luger being a lousy wrestler). Not sure why the main event didn't do better. Not bad by any means, but probably should have been the high 80s.

Piper vs Rude should do very, very well. I know it did in my diary game way, way back when.

I know it did in my diary game way, way back when.</div></blockquote> I'm puzzled by the main event also. One of the dirt sheet listings was a penalty for booking decisions. All I had was Sting winning via pinfall and the referee replacement, which may have done it. Looking forward to Piper/Rude, though I only have Piper for another month or so, so it will be a quick story.
