I doubt Tombstone has been poached yet and he is THE GUY. This is a big way for him to stamp that in the biggest match of the diary so far.

Semi Main Event

Six Man Gang Wars Grudge match

The Barracudas (Vaughan, Rourke & Chase) vs Pinn Enterprises Ltd (Pinn, Mueller & Dobberly)

This is hard, Case is here and he is the obvious weak link for his team. But overall Vaughan and the Barracudas have more upside so leaning to them. I could see the feud continue until a 4 v 4 is made.

DIW Hardcore Championship Tournament Final

Blaze Maximum vs Mayhem Mulhoney

I want to see Mulhoney get a title run and be the first winner to appreciate his seniority and time in DIW. But Blaze has a manager, a good character and is new. This can elevate him to a good level, while Mulhoney will always have that old school, original flavour to make him a star.

Build that new stable strong. Surprised to see AD get a new partner and not be with MR! E! C! P! Anymore.

Bonus Tie-Breaker Prediction:

Which match will be match of the night?

Tombstone v Comedian - The two best guys in the company facing off.

Australian Devil & Milton Hittlespitz vs House of Horrors (Hell’s Jester & Satan’s Spawn, with the Guru of Gore)

Apparently Australian Devil is in search of a teammate against House of Horrors; first, it was the Void, who ended up sidelined with an injury, then it was fellow high flyer East Coast Panther and now, Milton Hittlespitz who has a well documented history against Hell’s Jester already before the DIW Hardcore Championship Tournament even began. The two of them used their speed, recklessness and more than a couple of steel chairs to get the job done against the Guru’s ringside guidance (and frequent interference), Spawn’s intimidating power and Jester’s maniacal wrestling style. In the end, it was AusDev’s own inconsistency that cost him the match, causing him to blow a spot and set up a spectacular finish, with Satan’s Spawn laying him onto a table for Hell’s Jester to hit the Punchline [Atomic Arabian Facebuster] and put him through it.

Winners: House of Horrors

FVXGXE7.jpg

With a mic in hand, the Guru of Gore joined his clients in the ring to celebrate their victory, his eyes fixed on the body of Australian Devil lying in the debris nearby.

Guru: “Isn’t it ironic how last month’s big event was called Devil’s Playground… but none of the devil’s representatives were around? We’re here to fix that omission and I’m glad to see it’s not just us… Already the Australian Devil is on his way towards enlightenment and I was happy to see another devil, this one from Brisbane, arrive… Pretty soon, we will be ready to perform the Ritual of Ravaging and then… we will OWN Deep Impact Wrestling!”

The Guru of Gore does his best evil mastermind cackle as Hell’s Jester and Satan’s Spawn pose around him.

Hawkins: Ritual of Ravaging?

BJT: Is that like some financial trick to grab the majority of DIW’s stock? Because I have news for this clown, there is no such thing as DIW stock!

The Bad Truckers vs Samoan Demolition

A quintessential hoss fight, this match sees all four big men go at it with big strikes, slams and avalanches back and forth. For a Truckers match, this one is surprisingly crisp, lacking the organized chaos that has become their usual M.O. It’s an even contest, with both teams having strength as well as experience on their side, until…

FVXGXE7.jpg

Hawkins: Oh not him again!

BJT: He did say something about the Brisbane Devil earlier, think that’s why he’s here?

The Guru calmly makes his way to the ringside area and closely observes the rest of the match, applauding whenever the Brisbane Devil pulls off a big move. His actions do seem to irritate the wild Samoan though, who probably considers the applause to be a mockery and shifts his attention from the match to hit the ropes...

Blaze Maximum makes his grand entrance and struts his way to the ring with Miss Cerizabeth by his side. From under his hat, he produces a microphone and signals he has something to say before his match next.

Blaze: “Ooooh yeah, Blaze Maximum had this brilliant idea tonight… you see, it’s no secret that we’re only a few minutes before Blaze Maximum is crowned the first ever DIW Hardcore champion… but it’s not going to be an easy fight, no. By the end of it, Blaze Maximum will be victorious, but he’ll probably be tired, bruised and bloodied too. So I figured, this shouldn’t be reason enough to deprive fans of Blaze Maximum from hearing a Blaze Maximum victory speech. So, as the inevitable winner of this tournament and near-future DIW Hardcore champion, I’d like to say…”

Mayhem Mulhoney’s music interrupts the speech and the man runs down to the ring to attack Blaze Maximum, starting the match!

Mayhem Mulhoney vs Blaze Maximum (with Miss Cerizabeth)

Mulhoney brawls with Blaze Maximum all the way to the ring, using the guardrail to inflict some damage before getting his opponent in the ring to continue the beatdown. He hits a few of his trademark moves, but never goes for a cover. Instead, he roars in a rush of adrenaline as fans cheer in approval, but when he reaches to his corner for the chain he carries to the ring around his neck, it's not there!

Hawkins: His chain is gone! Miss Cerizabeth took it!

BJT: That's a great manager right there, Dean! She's studied the opposition, she knew what Mulhoney would eventually be up to and denied him a chance to use that chain!

Hawkins: Look at her mocking him as she dangles that chain!

Mulhoney goes to chase Miss Cerizabeth but Blaze Maximum interrupts, making the best of his manager's distraction! It's now Blaze on the offensive and he brawls Mulhoney to a corner!

Miss Cerizabeth caught Mulhoney with his own chain!

Hawkins: He's trapped! She's choking him out!

With Mayhem Mulhoney busy, Blaze Maximum leaves the ring and returns with a ladder! Meanwhile, Mulhoney's escaped and charges, throwing his own body onto his opponent!

Hawkins: Mayhem Mulhoney isn't afraid to wreck some havoc, regardless if he's taking or doing the damage!

BJT: I think that ladder caused enough damaged to both men upon impact, Dean!

Not to be outdone, Mulhoney pulls a table from under the ring, slides it in and goes to set it up, but Blaze Maximum clobbers him from behind with an elbow to the head!

Hawkins: Looks like Blaze Maximum has an idea, he's tapping his elbow... and points at the ladder! He's setting up the ladder!

BJT: I think he wants to drop an elbow of the top of the ladder!

Mulhoney kicked the base of the ladder!

Blaze Maximum landed through the table!

BJT: What's he doing?!? Cover him!

Hawkins: Mulhoney's climbing the ladder too!

Mulhoney kicks away the ladder... onto the fallen Blaze Maximum!

The Barracudas (Vaughan, Rourke & Chase) vs Pinn Enterprises Ltd (Pinn, Mueller & Dobberly, with Lori)

This match was exactly what one would expect from these two gangs, a violent, chaotic brawl with little to no actual wrestling but plenty of weapons spots and buckets of blood. Gareth Case looked like he's finding his footing in DIW and wasn't again surprised by the shortcuts Pinn Enterprises Ltd would seek to take or Dobberly's attempts to lock in a Full Nelson. Pinn and Vaughan brought their size, power and intimidating presence while Rourke and Mueller showcased some high intensity energetic brawling, with the match ending in favor of the Barracudas after Case played possum to lure in Mueller for the punt kick, only to grab his foot and catch him in a schoolboy for the three count.

Winners: The Barracudas

Tombstone © vs The Comedian

The two fighters come out with their fists taped and razor sharp glass shards glued to the outer side of their hands. The match plays out a lot like a boxing contest, with Tombstone controlling the distance and dodging gracefully all of the Comedian's wild swings. At one point, Tombstone sidesteps and counters with a knee to the gut of the Comedian, before unleashing a huge uppercut.

The Comedian's face is bleeding!

Hawkins: The Comedian retreats to the outside to recollect himself...

BJT: Tombstone is stalking his every move, not leaving the ring... he knows out there it's where the Comedian is most dangerous!

The Comedian grabs a folded chair from under the ring apron and returns to the ring. He swings...

Blocked!

Swings again!

Blocked again!

Hawkins: Tombstone protected his head again and again, but his hands seem to have lowered... look at his expression, he is clearly in some pain.

BJT: I think that was the Comedian's plan all along, Dean, he's driving those glass shards further into the fists of his opponent!

The Comedian throws a wild haymaker, easily avoided by the mixed martial artist...

Tombstone tries to lock in the Rear Naked Choke!

He's got it!

The Comedian drops on his back! Tombstone goes back first onto that chair! Cover!

One…

Two…

Kick out!

Hawkins: The Comedian is enraged!

BJT: Forget a fistfight, he's stomping a mudhole on the fallen champion!

The Comedian unleashes a series of stomps onto Tombstone, then leaves the ring again to return with a leather pouch...

Hawkins: Thumbtacks?

The Comedian empties the sack's content onto the ring mat...

It's more glass shards!

He scoops up Tombstone...

Running Powerslam! Onto the glass!

Tombstone's back is torn in shreds!

Cover!

One…

Two…

Kick out again!

Hawkins: How does he do it?!

Tombstone slapped on the Rear Naked Choke before The Comedian could get up!

They're rolling all over the shattered glass!

Tombstone ends up on top!

Hawkins: That's where his MMA experience comes into play, Tombstone is now on top of the mount.

BJT: He's in control and he's also pushing his full weight onto Comedian, who's face first onto that glass!

HE CAN'T BREATHE! THE COMEDIAN IS COUGHING UP GLASS SHARDS!

After the fifth 3 minute round of non-stop punches and knee strikes, this time Tombstone welcomed the beep of the stopwatch on the wall of the dinghy old basement he had converted into his personal training space. He unleashed a final scything kick on the heavy punchbag, the bass thud and clinking of chain satisfyingly hitting his ears to momentarily overshadow the sound of his heartbeat as he stepped back to take a few deep breaths. There hadn't been a single time he gave anything less than 100% of himself in his training sessions and he carried that principle with him to both the cage and the ring. He still considered himself primarily an MMA fighter, even after almost a decade with Deep Impact Wrestling and now in his second run with that promotion's top title. His mixed martial arts career hadn't been as long or as successful, but it was still his top priority, his love and passion.</p><p> </p><p>

He grabbed his water bottle from the nearby floor and took a careful sip. Give into the craving and you'll be throwing up moments later, he had learned the hard way. Drawing a forearm across his bald forehead to wipe the beads of sweat, he swirled the water around his mouth cavity and swallowed. After windmilling his arms a bit to relax the shoulders, he removed the gloves and began untying the wraps around his hands. The knuckles were still ripped in the aftermath of that epic Taipei Deathmatch he had with the Comedian at Sucker Punch. That was the thing some people didn't get about wrestling. You could get around some things, like when the Comedian pretended to choke on clear shards of caramel the fans thought were glass, but others you couldn't. As the old saying goes, you can't fake gravity. You also can't convincingly cut someone's face with caramel shards either. It had to be glass and it cut one's hands as much as it cut the recipient's flesh.</p><p> </p><p>

Tombstone would always carefully wrap his hand bandages again after a training session, unlike most athletes he knew who preferred to just throw them in their bag as a tangled mess they'd bother with later. It was his way to show respect to his equipment for protecting him, a character building exercise, but also some time to gather his thoughts after an intense training session. Almost like a meditative trance that would continue into his stretch and mobility routine. He was 26 years old, still a few years before what most industry professionals would consider to be his prime. He was a lean 182lbs, a short bulking round before hitting the heavyweight division numbers. He was dangerous both on his feet and on the ground. He had all the physical properties of a peak performance level athlete. And while he wasn't exactly the type who'd whip fans into a frenzy with his trash talk before a fight, he had the looks and charisma to make them care once that bell rang. RAW had Swoop McCarthy, APW had Nathan McKenzie and DIW had him.</p><p> </p><p>

He tightened his fists into punches and brought them close to his face, inspecting every cut from up close. The MMA scene in Australia was nothing more than a few sporadic indy shows every year, so perhaps it was time to accept the fact that his future lay not inside a cage but around a wrestling ring. DIW had been kind to him, but their style was not an easy one to work with. The fans were bloodthirsty and judging from veterans like Mulhoney and the Comedian, no amount of money could make up for the toll hardcore wrestling took on one's body in the long run. Still, neither RAW nor APW had given him a call to offer an alternative. APW especially, he'd been hoping McMinister would love to steal his rivals' star or at least try to restore some star power after RAW raided his own roster in turn. That's how the business worked, big fish would eat little fish and wrestlers tried to be that yummy food to end up in the belly of the bigger beast and soak up as much cash as they could before being digested and shat out once they were old or fans were tired of them.</p><p> </p><p>

Now finished with his stretching, Tombstone took one last deep breath and let it out in a long exhale. He needed a shower and he needed it fast. There was no food in the kitchen above and he had an anabolic window to catch.</p>

DIW Violent Delight

Date: Friday, Week 1 of March 2016

Location: Fuster Hall, Eastern Australia

Attendance: 631

DE0wmcP.jpg

Tombstone opens the show as he comes to the ring, his back still heavily bandaged from the match he had at Sucker Punch. Grabbing a mic, he enters the ring and calls for his music to stop.

Tombstone: "Last Saturday, I went to war with the Comedian in this very ring and let me tell you, he did not hold back. There is a reason why the Comedian is Australia's hardcore icon... but there's also a reason why I'm the DIW Champion... and that reason is because I beat him! That's right, I beat the hardcore icon in a match that was as hardcore as you can get! The Comedian may have not won that match or my title, but he won my respect, so Comedian... come on out here so I can congratulate you in person."

CwNnmYt.jpg

The Comedian, battered and bandaged as well, comes out and joins Tombstone in the ring. Despite the finish of their match where Comedian was choking on glass shards, he is badass enough to still be smoking tonight.

Comedian: "You're cool. Worthy champ."

The two men shake hands...

...but before fans can cheer them both, The Barracudas storm the ring to attack! Between having the element of surprise and numbers on their side, the attack is short, brutal and in favor of the ex-cons. Once over, Vaughan picks up the DIW Championship belt and raises it high in the air, before dropping it on the fallen body of Tombstone.

Voice: "Enough!"

Big Jim Teasdale apparently has had enough and dropped his announcers' headset to grab a mic and speak up.

BJT: "If you think you're gonna be rewarded for this with a title shot, you're dead wrong, Vaughan... But I'm gonna give you lads a championship-level beating alright, because in tonight's main event it's gonna be the three of you... against the DIW Tag Team champions the Bad Truckers and the new DIW Hardcore champion, Mayhem Mulhoney!"

Rob Edwards vs Blaze Maximum (with Miss Cerizabeth)

The opening contest sees Rob Edwards test his slick MMA skills against the wild brawling of Blaze Maximum. Though the in-ring action is actually pretty decent, fans have yet to warm up to Edwards and Maximum unceremoniously beats him after a Maximum Overdrive while Miss Cerizabeth is cheering him on from ringside.

Winner: Blaze Maximum

ozLd3Bm.jpg

After the match is over, Miss Cerizabeth grabs a mic and joins Blaze Maximum in the ring to celebrate.

Cerizabeth: "Not too many ladies and certainly not real gentlemen, your winner of the match, my client, Blaze Maximum!"

Blaze: "I hear a lot o' people saying Blaze Maximum's done after he lost in the tournament finals... and they're right! I'm done wasting my talent on anything but the top prize in this company! See, I essentially just beat a miniature Tombstone and that means I can beat the actual Tombstone just as easy... Just you wait!"

Dumfrey Pinn comes out of the curtain and pauses to motion his lackeys to follow out after him. Pinn Enterprises Ltd join him in full force, including Lori and the group gets in the ring with McMiller, Mueller, Sturt and Dobberly hitting the ringposts to pose while Pinn paces in the middle of the ring with a mic in hand.

Pinn: "Lately, things haven't been going well for Pinn Enterprises Ltd... It's already March and that means the quarterly reports are coming up soon... So far it feels like they're gonna be full of losses, which means I should do what every business man would do and that's slash expenses... You four... consider tonight your HR evaluation. Show me you're worth my money or face the chopping block!"

Pinn drops the mic and leaves the ring, shouting "bring 'em out" as he returns to the locker room area.

Pinn Enterprises Ltd (with Lori) vs Australian Devil, East Coast Panther, Lucas Pobb and Milton Hittlespitz

The new face in the mix is Lucas Pobb, a local high flyer who joins the rest of DIW's daredevils against Pinn's four rugged brawlers. Unsurprisingly, Pobb and his unpolished style gets a ton of static from the crowd but at least the chaos of the match is enough to somehow swallow it up, alongside McMiller's age limiting what he can do in the ring. Pinn Enterprises use anything they can get their hands on as a weapon, their opponents hit all sorts of crazy dives and stunts while Hittlespitz is probably the only one who combines them both, stealing the spotlight when he hits a suicide plancha to the outside while holding a chair for maximum impact. Despite the smaller men's best efforts though, Dobberly gets to put Pobb in the Full Nelson and the rookie immediately taps out to throw the match.

Winners: Pinn Enterprises Ltd

House of Horrors comes out as the losing team try to recollect themselves and leave the ring. Australian Devil stumbles onto the big frame of Satan's Spawn though, while Hell's Jester cuts off his retreat.

Guru: "I'm going to give you one last chance... One choice... The Ritual of Ravaging is coming... will you be one of the faithful to perform it... or will you be the sacrifice to seal it?"

Australian Devil hesitates for a moment, but then sheepishly follows House of Horrors to the backstage.

The Barracudas vs Mayhem Mulhoney & The Bad Truckers (with ??)

Mulhoney and the Truckers are led to the ring by a new face in DIW, a stuck up but stunning woman with asian features yet dark polynesian skin tone. The Barracudas are in control of this crazy brawl from early on, ganging up on the legal man and sneaking in blows like a well-oiled machine. The woman's guidance though seems to enhance the Truckers' ability to work together as a team and they begin to push back, before the match inevitably collapses into a free for all brawl. The chaos actually seems to favor the Truckers, who team up to face the big man Vaughan while Mulhoney's recklessness allows him to take on both Rourke and Case, creating some separation just long enough for him to hit the latter with a Cradle Powerslam and get the three count.

Who is the new chick???? I must know.

Case appearing in the ME even if he is the losing piece is still a big highlight for him.

MR! E! C! P! Losing makes me sad. I am high on Pobb as a rookie as he has ties due to his samoan background. But the bloke is deadset awful in the ring. At least for my own diary.

East Coast Panther & Rob Edwards vs House of Horrors (with the Guru of Gore)</strong></p><p>

The show opens directly into a match, with Australian Devil now a part of the Guru's group, even if still a pretty unwilling one. Him and ECP pull off some fast paced flashy moves to get the fans going, before the Guru orders for Satan's Spawn to be tagged in. The friction leads to a force tag and AusDev ends up arguing with the Guru at ringside while Spawn beats down ECP. After a desperation reversal, ECP tags Edwards in and the two bruisers deliver a bit of hard hitting action to fire up the DIW fans, before AusDev and ECP blind tag themselves in to pick up the pace for the finish as Devil hits the Tumbleweed Drop on his fellow high flyer for the pin.</p><p>

With no music to announce their arrival, the Hired Guns are simply out with McMiller on the mic and Wez Dobberly glaring menacingly at the DIW Tag Team champions.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>McMiller:</strong> <span style="font-family:'Courier New';">"No one cares what your name is or why you're here, girl...These people came to see a fight and I'm here to make sure everyone pays their dues... <strong>Hawkins:</strong> It seems we'll be joined for this next match by the Guru of Gore... What brings you here?</p><p> </p><p>

Samoan Demolition vs Pinn Enterprises Ltd (with Lori)</strong></p><p>

As it has been established by this point, Sturt and Mueller are fighting to impress their boss and remain with Pinn Enterprises Ltd, a setup that not only adds drama to this bout but also pushes the two men to attack with an added sense of urgency to their offense. Samoan Demolition are absolutely relentless in their intensity, but Sturt puts the breaks with a big atomic drop on King Malietoa that seems to have him limping for the rest of the match. The opening allows Sturt and Mueller to grab chairs and introduce some hardcore elements to the match, though an unprotected chair shot to the head is no-sold by the Brisbane Devil, much to the Guru's excitement on commentary. Still, with Malietoa's mobility severely limited, the match plays out more like a handicap 2 on 1 before the Guru leaves the announcers' table to pull the chair out of Mueller's hands. Mueller takes out the Guru with a stunner, but that only sets him up for the Devil's Drop and the pin.</p><p>

<strong>The Comedian & Mayhem Mulhoney vs The Barracudas</strong></p><p>

Following the Barracudas' attack during last week's opening segment, The Comedian teams up with fellow veteran Mayhem Mulhoney to punish Rourke and Case for their actions. There is little to no grappling throughout the match, instead the four men brawl all over the place and hit each other with anything they can get their hands on, until they get near a big crate near the entrance..</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

...out of which Hell's Jester pops out! Like a literal Jack-in-the-box, Jester shoots out of the box with a crowbar in hand, swinging wildly for the Comedian but instead hitting Rourke when the veteran instinctively ducks under! Mulhoney rushes in to slam Hell's Jester in the face with the DIW Hardcore title, leaving Comedian free to hit a groggy Rourke with the Running Powerslam for the pin!</p><p>

<strong>Vaughan vs Blaze Maximum (with Miss Cerizabeth)</strong></p><p>

Main event time and after his over-his-head bragging last week, Blaze Maximum finds himself in a dangerous match against the vicious leader of the Barracudas. Vaughan's size and power advantage sees him dominate the match early, even getting a two count after a chokeslam, but Miss Cerizabeth is there to distract him and provide her man with a chance to rebound. As if that wasn't enough, Vaughan slaps the snot out of Miss Cerizabeth, firing up Blaze for an explosive comeback leading to a near fall following a big elbow drop off the turnbuckle. The two men almost collapse onto each other, spent and tired past the ten minute mark and after some back and forth grappling, Vaughan slips through to lock in the Choke Sleeper. With Miss Cerizabeth out after his shot and Blaze Maximum dead center in the middle of the ring, the hold is kept for almost a full minute but Blaze finally taps out just before the fourteenth minute of the match.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Vaughan</strong></p><p>

<img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="DE0wmcP.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DE0wmcP.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

As soon as the bell rings, Tombstone runs down to the ring and before Vaughan can release the Choke Sleeper, he drops behind him to lock in the Rear Naked Choke in a three man entanglement spot! Vaughan fights to get out of it and Tombstone eventually lets go, but only so he can beat down the out of breath leader of the Barracudas while his men are recovering after their match against the Comedian and Mulhoney. The show ends with Tombstone standing tall and the announcers commenting on this being payback for the Barracudas' attack during the start of last week's show.</p><p>

The Barracudas vs House of Horrors (with the Guru of Gore)</strong></p><p>

This chaotic 3 vs 3 mess that tries to pass itself as a wrestling match is Blitz Simpson's return to action after being sidelined with injury and indeed Simpson leads the charge against the Guru's group with his offense, especially the big and powerful Satan's Spawn. Hell's Jester brings his usual potent mix of high flying and hardcore weapons brawling, whilst Australian Devil seems to be actually thrown off his usual pace by the Guru's yelling and commands from ringside. As if all of the above going on amidst stunt dives and weapons spots weren't enough..</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="CwNnmYt.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/CwNnmYt.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

...the Comedian decides to get involved too as he runs down to the ring and returns the favor from last week to Hell's Jester, blasting him with a crowbar to the back of the head, quite possibly using the exact same crowbar that Jestar tried to use on him last week! With HoH's strongest competitor out and Satan's Spawn caught up in a wild brawl against Case, it's Rourke and Simpson who close up on the already off-looking Australian Devil to take him out and finish the match.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: The Barracudas</strong></p><p>

Once the bell rings, Satan's Spawn realizes what happened and turns his attention towards the Comedian. The two men lock up in a wild brawl, with the Guru assisting his monster with a sneaky shot whenever he's able. Thanks to this slight advantage, as well as the rest of the Horrors eventually joining in, the Comedian ends up overwhelmed and with no one rushing out to assist him, he ends up getting beaten senseless. The segment ends in somewhat disturbing manner, as Hell's Jester puts the Comedian through a table (because that's his thing, after all) and the group carries the body of DIW's icon away.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hawkins:</strong> What on earth was that? And where are they taking him?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>BJT:</strong> I don't know Dean, but they certainly stole the spotlight from Simpson's return and victory!</p><p> </p><p>

Dumfrey Pinn comes out of the curtain, before he's joined by the Hired Guns and Lori. Pinn produces a microphone from inside his jacket and orders the crowd to shut up so he can talk.</p><p>

<strong>Pinn:</strong> <span style="font-family:'Courier New';">"Alright boys, you two have some balls shoooting for those Tag Team titles but tonight... tonight you'll have to get past Samoan Demolition... I don't care what you've got to do to win tonight and I don't care what you've got to do to win at King of Kombat, I want those belts... no matter what!"</span></p><p> </p><p>

Samoan Demolition vs The Hired Guns (with Lori)</strong></p><p>

After facing another combination of Pinn's goons last week in Sturt and Mueller, Samoan Demolition return to action against the experienced pairing of Angus McMiller and Wez Dobberly. McMiller does a great job in being the cowardly heel who breaks up the pace of the match with his antics, garnering heat from the audience and eventually receiving a righteous beatdown from the savage Samoans, before a distraction from Lori allows Dobberly to hit them both with stereo low blows and put Malietoa in the Full Nelson for the submission.</p><p>

<strong>Winners: The Hired Guns</strong></p><p>

The Hired Guns' celebration is cut short by the presence of Jane Tanaka at the top of the entranceway.</p><p>

<strong>Tanaka:</strong> <span style="font-family:'Courier New';">"Good job boys, real good... But don't you for a second think that it's gonna be as easy when you face my Bad Truckers next Sunday at King of Kombat!"</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hawkins:</strong> Wait, so this is happening?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>BJT:</strong> You bet it is, Dean! Listen to these fans, they want to see the Hired Guns and the Bad Truckers go at it, so of course I made the match official!</p><p> </p><p>

Mayhem Mulhoney vs Milton Hittlespitz</strong></p><p>

If the entire show had a recurring theme of Big Jim Teasdale booking matches, this main event subverts that expectation as Mulhoney basically comes out and lays down the title in front of him as an open challenge; Milton Hittlespitz rushes out before anyone else can and we seem to have a match while Dean Hawkins and Big Jim Teasdale look and sound absolutely lost on the commentary desk. No strangers to each other, the two men have a crazy hardcore match for almost fifteen minutes, with the challenger trying to use his speed to avoid the bulky champion, attacking with a mix of weapon shots, high risk dives or several times a combination of both, such as when he hits Mulhoney with a suicide dive while holding a chair. Despite the full-on assault, Mulhoney isn't so easy to take down or knock out and after withstanding some big moves from his challenger, he manages to finally turn the match into a brawl where he has the clear advantage, eventually hitting Hittlespitz with a Cradle Powerslam for the pin.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Mayhem Mulhoney</strong></p><p>

Miss Cerizabeth comes out with a mic in hand. Blaze Maximum isn't far behind her.</p><p>

<strong>Cerizabeth:</strong> <span style="font-family:'Courier New';">"That title rightfully belongs around the waist of Blaze Maximum! I'm out here to tell you, Mayhem Mulhoney, and tell Big Jim Teasdale over there too... I want, nay, I </span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><em>demand</em></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> a rematch so the gold can return to where it should be in the first place!"</span></p><p> </p><p>

Whoever booked that AEW Full Gear main event is probably a fan of this diary. Especially the spots involving broken glass were straight out of that Tombstone-Comedian Taipei Deathmatch.

It was …. ummm …. yeah it happened. I really wanted to like AEW but they are just doing lots of stuff I really kind of hate. That match could have been designed to lose them audience numbers because I'm telling you now anyone with kids is going to be turned off by that match. I'm fine with them being edgier than the WWE but they really don't seem to know where the line should be and that Lights Out match was so far over the line that a mainstream fed shouldn't cross it's not funny. What's worse it was between two guys who don't need to do that sort of stuff to get a reaction … where do you go from there? Deathmatches shouldn't be being done by their only two real Main Eventers (Jericho is too old to work a full schedule and Cody has never really carried a big show in a Main Event so he's only a borderline ME guy really and guys like the Bucks are not ME as solos only as a pair).

I get what alpha2117 is saying as that sort of match would normally be at the end of a feud where over a few matches the intensity and stakes got raised. Instead they went straight to 11. That said it was pretty great. Weirdly I did think of that DIW match and laughed about it, life imitating art
