New Japan Pro-Wrestling has invited five wrestlers outside of NJPW to be included in this years BOTSJ tournament, three from Dragon Gate Pro Wrestling (DG), one from Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and one from Ring Of Honor (ROH). NJPW has recently set-up a new working agreement with DG, similar to the agreements they have with CMLL & ROH.</p><p> </p><p>

Rule out the 5 outsiders for the win - Eagles/Osprey & Sabre are all made elsewhere so whilst they could get to the pointy end winning doesn't really help them now- some tag specialists and vets and a couple of emerging Mexicans. The name on the list that stands out to me is Shotaro Ashino. The guy is already pretty darn great but with a win here you get another guy with real Main Event potential being anointed. He's in the slightly softer side of the draw (3 outsiders) so my pick is Ashino over Sabre Jr in the Final.

Hiromu Takahashi is currently the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, I don't think the champion is included in real life as the winner gets a shot at his title, I may be wrong. I have missed the ball with ELP, he should have been added, my mistake.

The champions are usually included in the round robin tournaments (they rarely win). If they win, they get to choose their challenger. Typically, the guys who pin the champions during the tournament are also given title shots during the next tour which is the source of a lot of fun matches.
