Hello, I'm pretty new to TEW 2016, so please bare with me if I make any mistakes.

I have downloaded the October 2019 Real World Mod by Fleisch (http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=533463) and as you can see from the title I'll be playing as NJPW (owner), using Jado as my avatar (not Gedo, who's NJPW's main booker irl).

I am going to try to make this dynasty as realistic as possible, sticking mainly to the product NJPW use in real life.

NJPW have a weekly show called "New Japan World Pro Wrestling" which is set on the game to air for 1 hour per week, however we did not have any broadcasting deals so the show was essentially inactive, it took me 3 months and losing lots of $$$ to realise this. I signed a deal at the end of December 2019 and the weekly show will now be shown on NJPW's streaming service called NJPW World (similar to WWE's "WWE Network"). I have updated the run time to 2 hours per week as we have a large roster of talent who need to see some action.

The mod came with around 20 events, 2 events per month. Judging on my first three months of game play this is not enough events to make us enough money to survive on, with us constantly losing around $1,000,000+ per month. I have been looking at the real life NJPW schedule and can see that they run over 50 events per year, so I'll be looking to add more events asap, currently I'm up to around 30 events after adding in some "Road To" events (more to come).

I made a big mistake in the first 3 months of game play, signing up lots of workers who have high popularity in Japan to PPA deals not knowing that they also had guaranteed downside payments which matched the PPA salary. I was paying Ultimo Dragon, Great Muta, The Great Sasuke, Tajiri, TAKA Michinoku, Tiger Mask, Kazushi Sakuraba, Masakatsu Funaki & lots of other 40-50 year old's $1,500-$2,500 per month and they all made 0 appearances for me, I lost around $100,000 in those first 3 months.

Our colour commentary team was absolutely awful for the first 3 months, bringing down all of our segments etc, so I've gone ahead and signed John Layfield to partner Milano Collection A.T. in the booth. The experience level of the team instantly rose higher.

In December 2019 we signed two more broadcasting deals, both subscription based that will air our 2 hour weekly show "New Japan World Pro Wrestling" along with our current subscription "New Japan World", the first deal was with Netflix (Mexico) and the other with YouTube (USA), we are hoping to increase our popularity in both countries.

Here's a small update on our first 3 months of play:

October: Our journey started here and we had the entire month off due to our touring break, we made a lot of bad decisions this month in regards to signing up older workers and wasting money.

November: We ran our first ever event "NJPW Power Struggle 2019", which was rated 82. We didn't have any other events setup in November so the rest of the month was quite uneventful.

December: We made a lot of changes, we hired new staff, new workers, released workers, signed broadcasting deals, activated our weekly show, added more events.

January 2020 is now upon us and we have a huge Wrestle Kingdom show to start the year off with! My next update will come with the Wrestle Kingdom card and answering any questions you may have in the comments.

To answer some previously asked questions:

Q1. Why Jado and not Gedo?

A: This was a human error, I meant to add Gedo, however as Jado is now the President of NJPW "Owner" he has chosen himself to replace Gedo as main booker.

Q2. Were there any different champions through the play through?

A: Yes, Jon Moxley started as the IWGP United States Champion and had 1 more match left on his loan deal, so he dropped the title to the present-day champion Lance Archer at NJPW Power Struggle 2019. Later on in the card Lance Archer caused interference during Jay White's IWGP Intercontinental Championship match, which allowed Juice Robinson to pick up the win and become the new IWGP Intercontinental Champion. Jado would then book Jay White Vs Lance Archer for the IWGP United States Championship at Wrestle Kingdom.

Q3. Will Dave Meltzer rate Wrestle Kingdom matches 10 stars?

A: That made me chuckle! I hope so, we could do with a good show rating to start off 2020.

Q4. Any new guy we should get behind?

A: So far I've only given out 1 written worker contract and i cannot wait to see what he can do, his name is YAMATO and he came from Dragon Gate with very high popularity in Japan and an excellent skill set. Sadly he is injured and will miss Wrestle Kingdom XIV.

Surprised Hiromu got the Heavyweight Title shot and not Naito and Naito got the IC Title shot and not Hiroumu. That is certainly a choice.

Only going one night and not two? I understand it, just find it interesting.

Definitely an interesting card. NJPW is historically averse to three way matches, let alone one for the main event of the Tokyo Dome and with a Jr. Heavyweight thrown in. And while I'd love to see Morishima back, I think that is a long shot as he both has legal troubles and severe diabetes from what I've read. He seemed pretty loyal to NOAH as well.

Otherwise, I like the card a lot. Some pretty interesting match ups. I'll definitely be reading along.

Thank you for your comments Josh, I should have probably provided a little bit of a back story prior to the booking of this event.

Firstly, the reason I added Hiromu Takahashi into the main event was because he squared off against Kazuchika Okada in a highly rated match with excellent chemistry at NJPW Power Struggle 2019, the match ended after Kota Ibushi's interference. Ibushi's purpose was to ensure Okada retained the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and would be his opponent at Wrestle Kingdom (Ibushi wants to face the ace). However, Jado felt like Takahashi was screwed and would have beaten Okada if not for Ibushi's interference, thus booking a three-way main event for Wrestle Kingdom (Jado wanted to make it harder for Okada).

I feel that Tetsuya Naito was the best available challenger for Juice Robinson's IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

I booked a one night show for Wrestle Kingdom because I didn't actually know they were doing two nights. I will be doing a two night show next year.

Lastly, that's a title change I forgot to mention (I have now edited the post). Jay White lost the IWGP Intercontinental Championship at NJPW Power Struggle 2019 to Juice Robinson when Lance Archer attacked Jay White while the referee was down, this prompted Jado to book Lance Archer Vs Jay White at Wrestle Kingdom for the IWGP United States Championship.

Fair enough. Getting a big rating from a match is a worthy enough reason.

I feel that Tetsuya Naito was the best available challenger for Juice Robinson's IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

Which makes this make sense since Naito is the biggest guy on the card without a feud.

I agree with you about NJPW being averse to three-way matches and such, however I had just finished watching Kenny Omega Vs Cody Vs Kota Ibushi in a three-way match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at King of Pro-Wrestling 2018 whilst creating the card and felt inspired to give it a go. I have had a look at past Wrestle Kingdom cards and can see they have done it before, Wrestle Kingdom 7 was Prince Devitt Vs Kota Ibushi Vs Low Ki in a three-way match & Wrestle Kingdom 12 was Will Ospreay Vs Marty Scurll Vs Kushida Vs Hiromu Takahashi in a four-way match & Brock Lesnar won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on his debut in a three-way match with Kazuyuki Fujita and Masahiro Chono at a NJPW show in the Tokyo Dome. I won't be making it a regular thing though.

I admit to dropping the ball in booking a Junior Heavyweight to feature in the Heavyweight Championship main event. Let's just say Hiromu has put on some weight and is now a Heavyweight just like Prince Devitt, Kenny Omega & many others have done.

Chris Jericho was the rumoured and intended opponent for Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom, sadly Jericho was injured and unable to make the booking. Tanahashi then held an open challenge which was to be answered at the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom press conference. The challenge was accepted by former three-time GHC Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Morishima, this came as a surprise to many seeing as Morishima had retired in 2015 due to diabetes and had a failed comeback attempt in 2018 ("On July 10, 2018, it was announced that Morishima was set to make his in-ring return in late 2018 at a show produced by Riki Choshu. The show, initially named Genesis, was scheduled to take place on October 15, but was cancelled after Morishima announced he required emergency surgery for arthritis in his foot.") One year on and it appears the surgery went well and Morishima is set to make his in-ring return at Wrestle Kingdom against Tanahashi.

I'm unsure how loyal Takeshi Morishima is to Pro Wrestling NOAH, I know he's worked for AJPW, AAA, ROH, & WWE though.

I'm confused, Lance Archer attacked Jay White, what makes you think he's a face? That's a pretty heelish thing to do, heel on heel.

I believe the mod has NJPW set with no Heel/Face divide, I'll check it out.

That's fair. I am all for you going about things in a creative way, because NJPW can be a little formulaic and boring. But if you want it to be as realistic as possible, that's a different approach. Most of the big matches for WK14 are either officially set or informally set - we are going to get Okada vs. Ibushi and White vs. Naito on Night 1, and then Okada vs. Naito on Night 2 with Naito winning both belts, and Naito vs. Tanahashi as his first big title defense. NJPW can sometimes be extremely predictable because the stories are so detailed and lengthy that you can sometimes see the conclusions before they happen.

If Shibata comes back, it is going to be vs. KENTA, since they started hinting at that feud during the G1. I can't see PAC in NJPW any time soon either, especially since there isn't really an AEW deal in place. I'd be all for it, but I can't see it happening.

Again, just offering some constructive criticism if you are going for the most realistic game possible. If you just wanna wing it and do some fantasy booking, I'm all for that too as it can be a bit of a slog to get through the big NJPW matches when the real-world outcomes are so easily predictable.

And NJPW definitely has a clear heel/face divide, so that's something I'd certainly fix.

Yeah, the game is weird with New Japan. It has them turned off because Suzuki is a heel but is cheered for being an evil bastard.

Lance was the same way when he was throwing water bottles everywhere.

Then you have Naito which his character is just a ball of chaos nobody wants to touch.

So it's not like there isn't a face-heel divide, it's just that it gets muddled a lot.

In regards to my comments made in the opening post "I am going to try to make this dynasty as realistic as possible, sticking mainly to the product NJPW use in real life." I meant this in terms of the NJPW product style and not necessarily their booking. I think if I ran the exact same matches and storylines it would become very stale, very fast. It would also mean me having to wait around for real life announcements before continuing on with the game and creating storylines and cards. It will certainly be more of a fantasy style booking in this case.

Here are some examples of what I meant by running the product in a realistic way:

1. NJPW will continue to be a touring company.

2. NJPW will remain stables orientated.

3. NJPW will have lots of 3 & 4 man tag team matches.

4. NJPW won't have any Women's wrestling.

5. NJPW won't have any sports entertainment style match types.

6. NJPW will continue to have a higher % of match over angle product ratio.

7. I will try to add in as many of the real life events as possible.

There's likely some other things I've forgotten to mention.

Yes I saw Shibata return and destroy KENTA at the G1 Climax 29, thinking about it now I should have booked KENTA Vs Shibata for Wrestle Kingdom XIV.

I don't see PAC wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom XIV either, but I have heard rumours of Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley being involved. Cody, Jericho & Omega have all said it's possible they could do an event here and there for NJPW as long as it didn't mess with their AEW schedule. Seeing as I didn't book either Jericho or Moxley on the event I thought it would be okay to throw PAC in. PAC also loves wrestling in Japan.

I think NJPW is slowly heading in a new direction. Harold Meij became the first non-Japanese president of NJPW in 2018. NJPW booked a three-way main event match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in 2018. NJPW announced New Japan Pro Wrestling of America this year. NJPW ran a show in the UK for the first time ever this year. NJPW announced it will be allowing video recording and social media uploads for the first time ever during their upcoming Showdown event in Los Angeles this year.

I completely agree with you about NJPW definitely having a clear heel/face divide in real life, this isn't the case on the mod so I will be updating that.

I do agree with you about it sometimes becoming a little muddled. Imagine not cheering for Minoru Suzuki!?

CHAOS defeated Taguchi, Yano & Makabe in 12 minutes when Ishii pinned Yano after hitting the Ishii Driller. Ishii, Goto & Romero win the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship for the first time together. B-

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship Match:

Roppongi 3K defeated El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori in 14 minutes when SHO pinned El Phantasmo after the 3K. Roppongi 3K earned their spot in this match by winning the 2019 NJPW Super Junior Tag League in November. Roppongi 3K now start their 4th reign as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. C-

Thank you for your kind comments. I did try to add a load of images but none worked, they just showed up as "attachment" etc. Any help regarding this?

I'm going to try something different with the presentation of my dynasty. Instead of showing images of the in-game results and worker pictures I'm thinking to just add event posters and real life worker images when appropriate. Well, you upload the image onto imgur.com with the new post, select the destination as well as the images itself, then they will be uploaded. Right mouse button click you will see "copy image location", click that and you'll have the link, click this http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif button and paste it, then the image will upload.

If you need any help with poster, I can make posters for you. Let me know if you need any.

Imgur is actually really easy to use too. If a 50 year old like me can learn how to do it in 5 minutes then anybody can You basically open a folder on your computer and drag the pic from that folder into Imgur after you have clicked add images. Whomever designed it did it really well. It was bought by facebook too which means if you are on Facebook you don't even have to join Imgur just log into Imgur with that.

Having pics really does help because it makes it easier to visualise the matches and angles. Everyone can visualise Okada but some people wouldn't know a guy like Henare so a pic allows them to connect more. I like your Wrestle Kingdom show but it's a little dry without ether pics or some other gimmick to lift it from a straight summary of the results to something a bit more immersive.

LeoHunters header is indeed great.

You are off to a good start and I am looking to see how this goes as you evolve.

Toa Henare is a perfect example of someone who needs to be shown visually as he is quite unknown. I did try to initially add 3 images when posting, one was Henare, however I'm having issues with Imgur, I've used it before on other sites and it's been fine, not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I will keep trying. Thank you for your comments, much appreciated.

Okay here try this

In Images select your image a series of choices come up and select the one listed as BBCode Message Board and forums and hit the copy button on that line then in here ctrl V. It will come up with an address like this <a href="https://i.imgur.com/YUCkopD.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/YUCkopD.jpg</a> with these around it %5Bimg%5D%5B/b%5D

I just took this pic from the pic pack for WOTI6 dropped it into my imgur and did that process. Hope that helps.
